- This is a fan arrangement of "Dearly Beloved" for a hypothetical crossover between Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy Versus XIII (rebranded as Final Fantasy XV). This is not an official track.
I wanted to release something for the 20th Anniversary of Kingdom Hearts, and what a better way to do so than by celebrating the rich musical compositions of Yoko Shimomura.

"Somnus Dilectus" = Sleeping Beloved. Love the name choice.

People have been able to see that coming a mile away since kh3 with the addition of "Verum Rex".
@@James.Gatsby I don't blame him honestly. I think Versus XIII looked more interesting than what we got with XV, at least stylistically. I'm totally fine with him Snyder Cutting his way into getting a Versus XIII.
@@James.Gatsby It’s far deeper than that if you take the time to research what happened. The company went through many changes. From a new CEO, Crystal Tools disaster with FF13 and FF14, prioritizing FF13 trilogy and resources elsewhere. Nomura had a nearly finished project ready and never enough manpower. FF15 was completely a financial decision. And since KH3 was eagerly awaited he essentially sacrificed it and it was handed over to Tabata so he could focus on that and preproduction/full development for FF7 Remake. KH4 really is the end of that chapter in a cathartic way honestly.

I love Dearly Beloved so much but Somnus just does something to me man. I swear I get emotional every time I hear it, gives me chills.
I didn't even know this could be a real thing. I love these two games so much.

2:07 that violin is so good. I love the somber seriousness to it. This is the direction I really hope the game takes into the next saga
yeah, I for one, don't mind the fact that sora is gonna grow up a little, after sleeping for couple years in a weird pod-egg-thing.
There's a song in the official soundtrack of KH3 called "Beloved Somnus", it's only 30 secs. long but, it's basically this. It appears in the secret ending.

Is that really the official name though? The secret ending track is called Secrets of the Night
Just wanna say... Nomura bear one hell of a determination to get XIII done, whatever it takes. And my god this sad variation of Dearly beloved just hit the hardest and saddest spot with combination of Somnus' violin plus piano lullaby that drawn us in. That's the sensation it slapped to my face after Sora and Yozora simply put in the center of the screen.
If that trailer is anything to go by, Sora may end up becoming the next Master of Masters. Yen Sid tanked his Mark of Mastery Exam back in DDD. "Sora, you were nearly overtaken by the darkness and almost became Xehanort's vessel!" Except Sora was fighting Xehanort's influence the whole damn time and Yen Sid didn't even consider the possibility that the Organization could hijack the dream pathways that Sora and Riku were using. Yen Sid failed as a master so bad, he should be in Star Wars.
Now that you mention it, Sora rarely speaks up to defend himself whenever he fails. He just takes it in, that's not healthy. Maybe a little time in our world will teach him to have some more backbone. Kinda like when he had Roxas inside.

My two favorite games Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XV merged in one.
I was sitting back in my chair listening to a playlist and I heard Somus kick in and I was like, "Wait, what?" I know Yoko Shimomura composed for both KH and FF15 so I was thinking to myself: somethin's _mi~ghty_ familiar. Then I saw it was a fan mash-up so that cleared that up.
If Versus XIII is what Nomura dreamed of making then KH4 might Nomura's most ambitious project just like how Elden Ring became Fromsoft's most ambitious game

@@beneaththeazure6958 I'm a newcomer to Kingdom Hearts since the release of KH3 and even tho that game was a letdown. I never felt goosebumps over a video game than Kingdom Hearts.

even if you hate kingdom hearts or think the story makes no sense (it doesn't) you have to admit the music is amazing.
It's not that the story makes no sense, it's just the writers kept saying "what if", which isn't always bad, it's just gonna lead to what it is now. :/

@@Cast-Carnival considering the switch is a hybrid and kh comes to Xbox and PlayStation I’d say it doesn’t matter for the most part if it’s on multiple platforms. Because this time around there’s 2 you have to worry about, one of the main consoles and possibly a switch. It’s crazy to think there’s really not a Nintendo handheld anymore
@@Cfreezy12 no. Just no. First of all only one game actually made it into Xbox. KH3.
Second of all, square enix wanted to branch out to multiple consoles, so we got kh1 & 2 specifically for PS2, chain of memories for the DS, 365/2 days, for some other console I forgot about.

I Find it funny how people are saying KH4 Is basically VS13 when VS13 Was inspired and based off of the KH Series Noctis Caelum which means night sky and was meant to be the opposite of Sora in name and personality
Its because of Yozora from KH3 secret ending. Yozora is basically the japanese equivalent of Noctis Caelum

Well, we fought 13 data bosses before reach Yozora in Re:mind, got 13 prime darkness to defeat in future and all this real (VERum) and unreal (falSUS) theme for KH4. Everything about KH just scream Versus 13 right now.

What if Versus 13 was released and Nomura actually planned Noctis as a DLC appearence in KH3 ?
He did say release of KH3 was dependent on Versus 13.
Is that the reason we got shot for shot scene in Car of Yozora like Versus 13 Noctis?
Maybe Noctis was already in plan for Nomura in KH3 world, but when it turned into XV he just scraped Noctis and gave noctis' role to Yozora as Noctis was originally planned.

I'm not a fucking idiot. I KNOW they were going to repurpose parts of Versus XIII for KH. We didn't know that those aspects would go straight into KHIV. So many people expected it to go into Verum Rex, or another non-numbered title, NOT directly put into KHIV.

Bruh, KH3's Secret Episode ending is literally a shot-for-shot remake of a scene from the Versus XIII trailer. We already knew this.

The secret ending being a remake didn't mean they were going to use this content for KHIV. Most people expected at least one more non-numbered title (Verum Rex) with this stuff.
It wasn't hard to predict considering the end of KH3:Re was almost an exact replica of the FFvsXIII trailer opening.

I would love to see that in a future Dissidia game or a Final Fantasy crossover game in general. I think Square really could include Sora in a matchup against other Final Fantasy characters now that he’s been used in a Nintendo game lol.
