All that work I wasn't going to do lol, I haven't got any excuse now, sample everything!! Its such a brilliant idea, and so simple. All work done while I drink coffee😊
got the mpc one a couple of weeks back: depending on the sound i set cross fade to 10,000 or 20,000 but start the loop after the initial transient has played then hit auto sample and get pretty good results..been sampling my roland jx-03
Nice work! Sounds like you got some great results with the final loops you used. I’ve been busy with work and family the past few days, so haven’t had a chance the install the 2.3 update yet. Really keen to give this a try though! E-MU had the best auto crossfade looping with their E4 series samplers back in the 90s. It wasn’t fully auto.. You would sample one note and assign it to a key, then sample another note and assign it to a key, and it would automatically fill the notes in between, split half way. But the great thing was, it would also automatically truncate, normalise if needed, and loop the sample. And for looping you’d set a percentage value. So at 50%, it would loop the last half of a sample. From memory 25% was the default, and it always worked! I had a Rhodes piano with one or two second samples I sampled from a really old Future Music magazine CD which sounded amazing. And I used to sample random vocals etc. Whatever you’d throw at it would always loop smoothly. So I think figuring out what 20 to 60% of the sample length is would be best, based on how the E-MU samplers did it. And always turning on the zero crossing to avoid off axis loop points that click.
That sounds magical. I haven't yet tested the crossfader to the fullest. Someone commented that you can go to higher values. Maybe it's easier than I thought.
@@mpchead I've spent the last two weeks with the MPC Live exclusively. Just Sunday, i auto sampled the Digitone for the first time. Super dope. I've been making a bunch of synths also using Sine Wave generator apps sampling for about fifteen seconds to make some very lush pads. I'm thinking that I can start tweaking Digitone parameter as auto sampling is occurring to provide subtle variance of the keygroup. I need to find your other videos on keygroup because I want to apply the AMP envelope for ALL keygroup at one time
When Elektron finishes their beta work on Overbridge 2.0, you are going to be able to use your Digitone as a VST instrument with the MPC. I have the first version of Overbridge with the Analog Four and it works beautifully with the MPC. Can't wait to see you put that to work when Elektron publishes that update.
mpc heads can you do an example demonstration of velocity layers, I know creating velocity layers the old way you can layer different sample sound to one keep group spread across all the keys, but with auto sampler you cant add different sounds as layers, just the same sound so which layer is the normal playing level, the higher layer or layers when you strike the keys real hard like a piano, do you start with the first layer as the higher number then 2,3, and 4 as the lower numbers or do you start the lower number with the higher number then 3, 2 and 1 the lower lower numbers??
Learnt allot on this channel. I thought I knew my mpc really well. Do you think the clipping was from when you changed the starting point before sampling ? Also i'm bouta buy a digitone sample everything and get a refund. do what you gotta haha
is there a way to move start and end point at the same time while editing a sample? im using wavs containing full wavetables and its a pain to move both separately each time. thx!
does this still apply to the vid you did for "one keygroup to rule them all" concerning bass and if so what your process for picking the best bass note or does it not matter if you use pad perform......
I found a problem with playing multiple tracks with the same keygroup. Each subsequent track is stealing notes out of the previius recorded tracks! They also become garbly and distorted when i play a performance back with track mutes triggering. Is this a problem with polyohony? Or maybe a way i have track settings?

Great video. What i did to avoid the clicks and pops was I extended the note length so the sustain would be longer.
Yeah, that's a good idea.

@@mpchead what have you found?
Crossfader works great but it helps to have zero crossing On. For small samples not so good but at least there are no pops or annoying clicks.

I'm impressed with the audio quality of some apps. I used to make keygroups from the moog model 15, great fun
Big up for your work bro...
But is it possible to pre-listening saved keygroup ? Thanks Sir.
Can you save key groups and bring them up later? Like a sound bank?
Yes, that's the whole point. Create a library of your sounds.
@@mpchead guess I never paid attention to where it saved at or tried to reload the sounds in a new project lol
@@ShannonOli when you create any program, go to the pencil tool aside the program in the main screen and you'll see the option to save it.
@@mpchead that's what I was wondering! Thanks homie
@@ShannonOli no problem, thanks for watching.
Very useful! Thx

Thanks for the info mate. I am waiting for that to come through. Never tested the overbridge, only have the digitone but I hear great things.
I’m waiting for also.... it seems like forever 🙄
You mean, like the Plugs, Tube, Elec, and Bass? Overbridge makes it popup in the Live?!
Al Yeska probably only in controller mode... I sold my Digitone and analog heat mk2 and use software instead

Yes you can add layers with the auto sampler. It's right there in the video. I didn't use it this time but you can select up to 4 layers per stride.

Can you decide between 48 and 44.1 rate?
Yes
Will this work for MPC Touch?
Yes
mpc head nice!!
Is it possible to ca p ture autosamples from the TubeSynth? Internally?
YES

Try duplicating programs
