crafcik 12 Uldren will become the Hunter Vanguard. Hunters become the Hunter Vanguard by a dare that was made by the former Hunter Vanguard. Cayde’s dare was that whoever was able to kill him, they would become the Hunter Vanguard. It’s in his quest. Since Uldren killed him and Uldren got resurrected... if he shows up, it’s simply the way it is. Whether he accepts the role or not, he will always be seen as the new Hunter Vanguard. It’s just how tradition is.
@TOM KUJO we do know for a fact that guardians are holding him accountable for his past crimes. Sure all guardians know that when you become one you lose all your memories but human nature is much more simple than that. As guardians we're immortal. People can and will kill him. Not many will look at his amnesia and think it's no longer the same person. When it comes to Guardians we made killing a sport so I doubt that most would second guess killing one because of hate. And making him a hunter vanguard would make guardians rebel against vanguard so I don't think they're going to do it. Just a quick reminder that even during Christmas he had to sleep outside the city because upon seeing his face guardians were lashing out on him. If during the time when we baked cookies even for Riven! We still couldn't find it in ourselfs to forgive him I don't think guardians will do it anytime soon. Unless he saves the last city. Unless he shows people that he's not the same person and proves that he has the right to stand proud amongst us. Then he's going to hide for a really long time

Drifter and Eris’ chemistry is hilarious. This is a duo I’d never thought I wanted. Both have had their fair share of survival at any cost but have coped with it differently. Kind of like two sides of the same coin (no pun intended)

So... about that dialogue between us and Orin, has the Emissary been putting up a front this whole time to the Nine? The real Orin is still there--she's the Emissary, only putting up the facade about being the Emissary to fool the Nine so she could learn the truth of what the Nine are up to. The Orin we spoke to in this dialogue IS the Emissary, she reveals to us that she's been faking her own submission to the Nine to tell us that they are as much powerless as us against the Darkness--and to not trust them to be on our side. Drifter's been right the whole time too, he still loves Orin and begs the Emissary to return to him... if only our character could speak and tell Drifter this truth.
no, it's kind of like being possessed in movies, like sometimes the person can snap themselves out of it by focusing. technically she's still a guardian, so she has ontological power, enough to will herself out of the thrall of the nine.

Spoiler for the new dungeon (kinda): Some of the lines can be heard in the second Wasteland encounter in Prophecy, if you go to the different locations, the Emissary will br there and when you get close to her the dialogue plays.
The way the dialogue sounds, it makes it seem like the whole point of making the choice was nonexistent because in the end he trusts our judgement either way.

Omg the darkness are preparing to give us our dark powers in the fall. The darkness is now saying the opposite from shadowkeep. Darkness is life, victory, and strength and on how ancient power awaits on Europa. And Ana is potentially putting rasputin into a exo body to save him, and I feel the emmisary is showing drifter alternate realities where there is either full darkness, or full light and back in season of the drifter when she says a forgoten blade sharpened a new. She confirmed it to be eris. All thats left is an hour glass.
It feels lovely to have confirmation that I was right about the blade. The Hourglass seems to be Mara Sov given her patience is a trait mentioned multiple times

That would be wild though. The Eris we have been talking to this whole time during D2 turns out to have been Savathun, pulling the strings. With everything happening since Shadowkeep being part of her plan to bring us to our knees for slaying her brother.
That would explain the intro mission to this season, the one where we get the seed... When we we're in Savathûn's court and are about to be killed by all the eyes, Eris shouts "ENOUGH!" and suddenly we're teleported to safety. The simple explanation is that Eris was using her powers to fight Savathûn's. The tinfoil hat explanation is that that was Eris-Savathûn commanding her OWN SUBJECTS to stop attacking, and that it was her teleporting us around EVERY time. It would also explain the "the Eris you knew died on the moon" line 🤐 Also we're assuming Savathûn is just a being of pure evil/darkness with simplistic motivations, and not a complex and nuanced character who wields the power of Darkness but understands that the Light/Darkness dichotomy is freaking stupid just like "Eris" and the Nine do. Hell, maybe if the Eris we know IS Savathûn, some of original Eris' motivations are still rattling around in that form, causing her to not be as one-dimensionally evil as her family.

So Eris is the forgotten blade. And Mara Sov is likely still the hourglass with infinite patience. And the Emissary showed the Drifter a world of absolute light, or dark. Despite their cosmic polarity, they both seemed debilitating. It goes back to want the Awoken Queen once said. _When there is too much darkness, light must cast away. And when there is too much light, darkness must drown out._ _Too much of good thing can make you sick._ _Balance can come down to a single grain of sand._ Destiny’s narrative is reminding me of the Yin-Yang. A world of mostly light, with a bit of dark for added insurance is the viable option. *A side must still always be chosen.*
I'm new to Destiny lore but recently saw a video going into detail on the guardian trapped on The Almighty (well, formerly trapped I guess... RIP) that mentioned the trilinear star cult (I think that's what they were called), a group of city dwellers who hate the Traveler, believing it's responsible for the Collapse because it drew the Darkness to the solar system. And I'm just like... Well yeah, fucking obviously, but that doesn't make it evil. A strong light by nature will cast shadows.

Some of these lines are for the Prophecy Dungeon. In the Wasteland portion you can explore around after the encounter is completed and you get dialogue at all the notable locations where Emissary appears.
I like how drifter is concern about the hunters not having a hunter vanguard to lead them, teach them. But instead we learned by ourselves and we led ourselves. Now that’s the way it should be. Unless uldren comes a knocking to claim the hunter vanguard seat.
I really like the back and forth banter between The Drifter and Eris. It's very human of them Glad to see more lines on Drifter and interactions with other characters
interesting how a few key characters are following Dredgen Yor's path. Such as, embracing the darkness becuz the light is not enough, and still trying to find hope.
Orin literally demonstrating to Drifter how having too much light or too much dark can drive a person mad is a clever way of proving that either Light and Dark must both exist in a balance, or neither should exist at all

So... about that dialogue between us and Orin, has the Emissary been putting up a front this whole time to the Nine? The real Orin is still there--she's the Emissary, only putting up the facade about being the Emissary to fool the Nine so she could learn the truth of what the Nine are up to.
The Orin we spoke to in this dialogue IS the Emissary, she reveals to us that she's been faking her own submission to the Nine to tell us that they are as much powerless as us against the Darkness--and to not trust them to be on our side.
Drifter's been right the whole time too, he still loves Orin and begs the Emissary to return to him... if only our character could speak and tell Drifter this truth.
no, it's kind of like being possessed in movies, like sometimes the person can snap themselves out of it by focusing. technically she's still a guardian, so she has ontological power, enough to will herself out of the thrall of the nine.

Spoiler for the new dungeon (kinda): Some of the lines can be heard in the second Wasteland encounter in Prophecy, if you go to the different locations, the Emissary will br there and when you get close to her the dialogue plays.

Darkness is life, victory, and strength and on how ancient power awaits on Europa. And Ana is potentially putting rasputin into a exo body to save him, and I feel the emmisary is showing drifter alternate realities where there is either full darkness, or full light and back in season of the drifter when she says a forgoten blade sharpened a new. She confirmed it to be eris. All thats left is an hour glass.
Given the beyond light cutscene I’d argue that it’s most likely the Stranger/Elsie

That would explain the intro mission to this season, the one where we get the seed... When we we're in Savathûn's court and are about to be killed by all the eyes, Eris shouts "ENOUGH!" and suddenly we're teleported to safety. The simple explanation is that Eris was using her powers to fight Savathûn's. The tinfoil hat explanation is that that was Eris-Savathûn commanding her OWN SUBJECTS to stop attacking, and that it was her teleporting us around EVERY time.
It would also explain the "the Eris you knew died on the moon" line 🤐
Also we're assuming Savathûn is just a being of pure evil/darkness with simplistic motivations, and not a complex and nuanced character who wields the power of Darkness but understands that the Light/Darkness dichotomy is freaking stupid just like "Eris" and the Nine do. Hell, maybe if the Eris we know IS Savathûn, some of original Eris' motivations are still rattling around in that form, causing her to not be as one-dimensionally evil as her family.

It goes back to want the Awoken Queen once said. _When there is too much darkness, light must cast away. And when there is too much light, darkness must drown out._ _Too much of good thing can make you sick._ _Balance can come down to a single grain of sand._
Destiny’s narrative is reminding me of the Yin-Yang. A world of mostly light, with a bit of dark for added insurance is the viable option. *A side must still always be chosen.*
I'm new to Destiny lore but recently saw a video going into detail on the guardian trapped on The Almighty (well, formerly trapped I guess... RIP) that mentioned the trilinear star cult (I think that's what they were called), a group of city dwellers who hate the Traveler, believing it's responsible for the Collapse because it drew the Darkness to the solar system. And I'm just like... Well yeah, fucking obviously, but that doesn't make it evil. A strong light by nature will cast shadows.

Some of these lines are for the Prophecy Dungeon. In the Wasteland portion you can explore around after the encounter is completed and you get dialogue at all the notable locations where Emissary appears.

I like how drifter is concern about the hunters not having a hunter vanguard to lead them, teach them. But instead we learned by ourselves and we led ourselves. Now that’s the way it should be. Unless uldren comes a knocking to claim the hunter vanguard seat.
