"you can never go home again" Hit me pretty deep. The original Destiny very much was my home for a time, Had my friends, Family, and everything in between with me. Destiny 2 rolls around, Everyone's moved on, The time we had for the game has past, No one can afford to grind like we used to, and there's no real interest to continue it. I remember running strikes in the beta, incessantly. The game dropped and we pushed hard to get as much done as quick as we could. The vault opened up to us, and we beat it after so much infighting. Ended up pushing Atheon off over and over, just for fun. The rest of the game felt like it was flying by, Every gloomy Halloween with Eris, Every Christmas with The vanguard, Every day with friends. Though now I'm here, Sitting and remembering our glory days, and how when the opening of Destiny 2 started with my family of constant companions and my name in all the raids we conquered, All those firsts, leaving me with the still warm embers.. You really can never go home again.
I know exactly what you mean. D1 was what my friends and I played the most. One of my best friends now is because of that game. I was in school and he was busy in the military and we got left behind by our other friends. They didn't want to do the Vault with us because they wouldn't get anything out of the normal difficulty run of it. So we said screw this and learned it ourselves with the help of lfg. Once we knew what we were doing we'd run new people through and teach them how to do it. We had to run the Vault over 30 times a week. We didn't care about getting more gear just helping people learn it because we knew what it was like to be abandoned. We played through all the dlcs together, we laughed, we teased each other. It was the Golden Age for us. We played a lot of year one D2. But they slowly lost interest, the grind wasn't as fun for them. I've been a solo player for most of D2 and it makes me sad. I miss the days of running all the different activities together. I haven't even done most of the raids. And I really want to play GoS. It's just hard because you never know what you'll get with lfg, and I've had plenty of bad experiences from it. But I keep playing and doing what I can. I keep carrying the torch, making sure I know what's going on in the game in case they come back. At least I have all the fond memories of our times together.

I'm sad I'll never get the chance to meet him in the tower, he seemed like a really chill and funny character to talk to
First off welcome to the fold Guardian, second we’ll eventually have another Hunter Vanguard. Hunters maybe self sufficient but we need someone in charge for when things get real ugly.
Wielding the Ace Of Spades means so much to me, knowing that whenever I rise up and conquer some big bad boss, I'd of done it with Cayde by my side. Rest in peace Cayde, we'll see you at the finish line...

"Scanners have picked up something big. And no it ain't my ego. Swear the light everyone around here thinks they're a comedian." The best quote Cayde's ever said
Such a fantastic Voice Actor. He really breathed such life and dynamics into the character in both bold and subtle ways. I fell out of love with Destiny after Year One because of the repetitive nature of the grind and it feeling like it’s heart had been hacked from it with the removal of it’s original narrative thru-lines. I decided back in July 2020 to see what it was like now, a few years on. Within about 48 hours, I was hooked. THIS was the Destiny game I had been hoping for when I first jumped aboard the original hype train. I actually felt like I had some agency over how my game played out. I haven’t dived too much into the reasons why a lot of the original fans of the game who stayed on now seem to have the opposite opinion to me, because from where I’m sitting, the improvements have only strengthened the ip. Anyway, this is a long way of me essentially saying: such a shame I arrived late to the party, fell in love with one of the guests, (Cayde), and pretty soon had to say a goodbye. The fact I came to genuinely like him and feel invested, is testament to both the Devs and the Voice Actor. So if that doesn’t tell you right there that Bungie really are doing their jobs correctly, I don’t know what will. 🤷🏻♂️ RiP Cayde-6, I hardly knew ya. ♠️
I was only introduced to Destiny 2 in September so I never got to see Cayde while he was in the tower. The first and last time I got to see him was during Forsaken. I immediately fell in love with him and cried at the end. He was an amazing character and I'll always be jealous of the people that got to visit him everyday
Cayde was the only other "Good" character IMO. His personality was so fleshed out through his dialogue and he was such a fun guy (with a dark past). I really miss the guy. Rest easy hunter. This was one bet you couldnt win.
I hope we get a cutscene of our guardian fighting some bbeg and we die, but before we resurrect we get a vision of him giving us words of encouragement to continue the fight
Man, this reminds me of the times I had in year one of D2 with friends. We did so much together, had so much fun, and these days hardly any of us touch the game. I miss those days.
Awh, I may be a Titan main but there is a time when you just go back to reminisce a little. You may have been an undisciplined space cowboy with an ego and confidence larger than The Almighty, but we all miss ya, Cayde. 10:13 specifically really hits hard when you remember seeing Zavala stand over Cayde's coffin in Forsaken. Ouch.
Cayde was killed off a few months before my friend passed in his sleep. I hadn't played any Destiny yet, but the wisecracking EXO was still pretty legendary (and who doesn't love Nathan Fillion, right?). I um... I still don't really know that I'm healed. But when D2 went free-to-play back in October, I thought "what the hell, why not," and while the game has its problems, I fell in love with it a little bit. And I fell in love with Cayde, even though I knew he was gone. The pain was familiar. So I bought Forsaken and Shadowkeep. I played. And... I saw Cayde die. And it stung, because I went from being powerless in reality to feeling powerless among slayers of gods. Among legends. But then I got to the end, and I got to the exotic quests for Ace of Spades, and I was feeling closure. I never wanted to idolize Cayde, but I was playing as an EXO Hunter. I looked up videos for where to go (you're a bit of an ass, Cayde), I got the pieces, I ground so hard to calibrate it. And I got to the end. I heard his testimonials. How it was okay that he was dead. That it's better not to try to bring him back. My friend who passed in his sleep was not like Cayde. He was soft spoken. Very stoic. Dry humor. More like Ikora, really, but... still. Doing Cayde's quest helped me heal, I think. And hearing these voice lines helped me feel a bit like I was hearing my friend again. Rest in peace, Will. I miss you.
Damn it, i quit D2 after Forsaken and coming to this video brings back the hype for D2 and the memories. Ill forever miss my two friends and I emoting during Public Events or Raids to Beegee boys on a humid August night with christmas lights.

@@mattl2457 I know it whoud be a cheap move for easy recognition, but wasn't cayde's death cheap marketing too?
Just when we got Cayde back, he's gones once again.....
10:13 He’d be lost without me.
That part actually made me sad.. and then the ending of the quote made me smile and laugh 🥺 sucks that the one who brought LIFE to the vanguard was taken away.
I'm fairly new to the community since I've only just started playing Destiny 2 recently, haven't even played 1 but damn, despite Cayde not even being around anymore I decided to kinda look into him and see what type of character he was, needless to say, I love him lol.
As both an exo and a hunter, even being a new light around Forsaken and having not known him for that long, man do I still miss Cayde.
I really miss him. It was good to hear his voice...also Im not crying. Everybody is...
Wielding the Ace Of Spades means so much to me, knowing that whenever I rise up and conquer some big bad boss, I'd of done it with Cayde by my side.
Rest in peace Cayde, we'll see you at the finish line...
4:23 this will now kill my soul every time I think of it... R.I.P. let's pay respects for our fallen hero.
Rip Cayde your the reason why I play destiny.
8:46 LOL is that the taken king boss battle theme?!
yep.
I miss the days of hearing cayde pop in during strikes and I'm sad it'll never happen again. As a hunter nothing makes me more proud then to call cayde our vanguard
It's just not okay removing Cayde completely if you haven't completed/started Forsaken/Shadowkeep campaign.
6:18 the darkness has been here longer than we thought lol
Maybe not. It's greatly implied that all sorts of crazy shit sprang to life when the Traveler arrived.
I miss Cayde so much
9:02 wow I got super baited there! Haha, that's a good one! Didn't expect that!
4:27 Awww, we're Cayde's favorite!
1:54 The first time Cayde said this way back when, I opened my inventory to make sure he wasn’t admitting to picking my pocket 😂
6:32 "Someday, I'll be back out there but right now my place is here." This line is pure pain.
The emotion behind Ikora almost bailing on ramen night just hits. I get it's just being a good voice actor but still. Rest in peace Cayde.
We need Cayde to call us his little pogchamp
With the pyramid ships on their way and the allmighty coming as well it’s nice to listen to these sorts of dialogues every now and again
It still hurts
Miss you partner. More than you’ll ever know.
Rest in peace Cayde. We all miss you.
"Scanners have picked up something big. And no it ain't my ego. Swear the light everyone around here thinks they're a comedian."
The best quote Cayde's ever said
Such a fantastic Voice Actor.
RiP Cayde-6, I hardly knew ya. ♠️
"Watch your back, shoot straight, conserve ammo, and never EVER cut a deal with a Warlock" I AM HERE FOR THIS SHADOWRUN REFERENCE
This was one bet you couldnt win.
i missed him a lot today
7:55 It's very helpful when you're carrying Hunters.
6:43 it sounds like he’s saying “shiro” instead of “you’re”
Yeah he’s talking about Shiro-4
I hope we get a cutscene of our guardian fighting some bbeg and we die, but before we resurrect we get a vision of him giving us words of encouragement to continue the fight
Wow Never thought I’d miss Cayde-6 this much. OMG
Man, this reminds me of the times I had in year one of D2 with friends. We did so much together, had so much fun, and these days hardly any of us touch the game. I miss those days.
Missing Cayde. It's such a shame the newbies from New Light will never get to know him like we did.
God i miss Cayde... The game hasnt been good since they killed him... Thanks for this. He always made me laugh.
rest in peace you fantastic exo
"you are my favorite, don't tell anyone" Aaah words to listen one the darkest moments.
"You want me to say well done, that you did good? Well done" That one kinda stung
I may pine for the days Cayde was still around in the Hangar, but we did him proud.
Im glad someone collected this stuff I miss cayde
Anyone else catch that Queen of Hearts line? Like from the Cadye's stache mission, in the secret room?
5:48
Cayde doing impressions of other characters are hilarious
Awh, I may be a Titan main but there is a time when you just go back to reminisce a little. You may have been an undisciplined space cowboy with an ego and confidence larger than The Almighty, but we all miss ya, Cayde.
10:13 specifically really hits hard when you remember seeing Zavala stand over Cayde's coffin in Forsaken. Ouch.
I still miss him
I miss Cade
this is something I didn't know I needed but I did thank you cayde was the best
I miss you.
And that’s why hunter’s came last in guardian games. They didn’t have Cayde
I thought it was warlocks?
@@gagejohnathan9641 no, i think warlocks took second cause hunters decided to act out the lore and didn't show up
That is so fucking true
Thought this would help but it just makes me miss him more rip Cayde-6
Eris never got to see cayde again...
You have no idea how much we miss you cayde, I hope you are in a better place, watching all your disciples, we will never forget you ...
HES BACK BAY BEEEE
man i miss cayde
That loveable rogue
3 years since he passed away now...
Has it really been that long....
Damn it, i quit D2 after Forsaken and coming to this video brings back the hype for D2 and the memories. Ill forever miss my two friends and I emoting during Public Events or Raids to Beegee boys on a humid August night with christmas lights.
quite a long time ago yet it seems like yesterday.
Hasn’t even been 2 years yet. September 2018 was when he died
9:33 this ones still in the game! You can hear it from one of the radios in the tunnels near Ikora and the Drifter
10:31, 10:42 And these too!
