CC is scary good, and that spells trouble for the rest of playoff bound teams, because not only is she scary good, she is getting her teammates to be their very best, shooting 3's as they practice this every day in their workouts, they know that if they can "get to their spots, CC will find them and make them stars as well!" go, Fever!

Some of the greatest players and coaches have said that Larry Bird was their biggest nightmare, knowing they had to guard the goat of his era! Caitlin is that player and she's only 22 years old? That's incredible

How is this rookie basically running this team, setting plays and breaking records along the way? It's like they draft picked a veteran of 10 years. And, many of the big women run like moose. its like they have never had bb shoes on. its like they put their daddies boots on and decided to run. bb is in essence a finesse game not rugby.

Right I live in the UK I'm 74 (I think) and have played and followed bball for over 60 yrs. packed in playing at 56/57ish as knackered knees stopped play.
I have a pal who probably has the most extensive collection of NBA games (outside the actual NBA) on tape, (yes on tape.) and yes I am talking college games onwards. In the beginning the NBA itself, they were not great. But we had nothing really to judge them against.
Not quite as hard a watch as the WNBA but we are talking a BIG physical difference here.
Then the athletes and razamataz started to play, Johnston with his flash and Bird with his indominatable 'I will beat you ’
      Ok so just accept.
That they can’t run as fast.
      They can’t jump as high.
They can’t shoot the ball from as far.
BUT in CC. We have the first real all round basketball playing star, the others are like the NBA old school, as in specialists good shooters good defenders but not so great athletes. In a lot of cases really not so great athletes.
Funnily enough I think as a side note CC. is going to reshape the WNBA into actual athletes, I think you will see players losing lbs and gaining six packs as they fight to contain Clark and her high tempo game.
Stop comparing them to the NBA they are not guys, yes I know most have girlfriends and like to think they are guys, they are not guys.
Keep that in mind and you may learn to enjoy the game.

We'll see at the time of playoffs. If she's not deliberately hurt by another player prior to that, she'll most likely receive alot of pressure early on, so I expect spread court so she can get the inbound and quick pass, then the defense is week and the other players are getting better around her so that allows her to get set for a three if they don't drop it in before that. The game pace will be their slow energy playing and that'll change quick when teams can't respond to it. Their adjustments during the first half will allow Caitlin to play deep and become dangerous as well as her team will be stronger. Fever is more than a fear for the playoff teams it's an illness that can't cure.

I dont know what is the most herculean effort in the WNBA. Caitlin Clark's rapid fire shredding of the racist Team USA, or Diana Taurasi trying to continue flying her ever growing balloon of BS about Cait to try to cover her own pathetic attempts to stop her.
It's become amazing to me that Taurasi can even get up the strength to slither in front of the fans with all that huffing and puffing she has to do to keep the Ballon BS going, especially when real basketball ball fans kno who's who and who's snot.

  • @kuoliangyu

Even the great Steph Curry did not strike fear and uncertainty into his opponents when he first played in the NBA. I vaguely remember some criticisms to the effect that he would be at best a high level sub or 2nd option with the Warriors, behind Monta Ellis. It took quite a few games, maybe even a season or 2, before he elicited the fear and dread that he inflicts on everybody now.
In this aspect Caitlyn Clark has already surpassed Curry. In just after, maybe, 10/12 games into this rookie season she already strikes fear and uncertainty into all opposing teams. She gets double or triple teamed frequently, face guarded by the Olympic team in the all-star game, knocked/pushed/hit/clobbered in just about every game now, and insulted and belittled constantly by her critics.
I seriously doubt that the Fever will win the championship this year or maybe even a couple of years. But it speaks volumes about Clark's talent and skills that she already bothers the veteran players and coaches so early in her professional career.

Clark is not going to take this cruel jealousy. She will leave and write books. The Fever will be permanently affected. No CC, no Fever. She should get herself a few billionaire backers who love women’s basketball and start her own team. Boycott the Fever. if she leaves and put the brand out of business. It will come back with more talent and management.

@@figuredrawing4912Why do people like you always bring that up. Pistol Pete didn't win one neither did Larry Bird two of the best ball players in the NBA. Would you say the same thing about them. Yes she has turnovers but she also handles the ball more than almost every other player in the league. She's shooting at 47 percent something unheard of for a rookie. Coach K from Duke University said he would love to have had a player with her passing abilities and have the insight to read the court. She leads the league in assists. She's always a threat from the outside. Sue Bird realizes that on her current level of play she's going to be a name just like her's for future players to aim for. Why else would she say that CC would be the last person she would want to play in the playoffs.

@@dwh8310 unfortunately he’s right about her not winning a championship.
But I personally think she is on the same level as Sue Bird, if not better. Even if she is a rookie the stuff she’s been doing on the court is unbelievable… I think it’s stupid though that the other poster is blaming her for all her turnovers when she gets credited with a turnover if they drop her pass and it looks like they’re getting better since her teammates are getting used to her plays.

Amazing , not knowing this lady won four championships. She is the history of how WNBA was born. Yet no one cared. Their product (female , want to be man) suck in talent. Had no problem disrespecting this country. At the same time, asking for more money, they didn't deserve it. HAVE NOT BEEN PROFORABLE or able to bring fans to their games. In other words, now, this supposedly players(activists, victims) have realized how bad they are at their craft. They have no talent if they did. NBA wouldn't have to pay 100 million dollars each year as lost profit. Imagine that ???? 7:55
