i just started my jiujitsu journey and my mom was like "oh my patient at the office was telling me about her son who competes in jiujitsu named gordon ryan" Im like "thats cool I guess" not realizing for at least a couple months that hes the fkin goat

@@snypox he had no control with his legs on Gordon's thigh. Without that control finishing a heel hook is near impossible
@@FuckingRullezZ outside heel hook with irimi ashi garami is easy to counter Gordon would probably just roll out of it so it was no real danger, so Gordon just laughed it off xD...

You dont just find 10 amazing athletes that can progress as fast as them while being the #1 in instructional dvds. And say you had nothing to do with it.
Danaher is definitely one reason for Gordon's success. The other part is Gordon. That said, Gordon wouldn't be where he is at without his teammates pushing him. He has been fortunate to have been able to work w/ some of the best grapplers in the world. It will be interesting to see how team B progresses and how Team Gordon progresses now that they're apart.
Gordon claims his success is due to Danaher, and Vice Versa . It’s the Humbleness these two have between one another that makes them such a great combination. For a student and teacher to trust and respect each other the way they do is awesome !
It is even to the level that Gordon has mentioned many times in podcasts, if John decides to retire/stop teaching, he will immediately stop competiting

There's a warmth in that team, particularly between Gordon and John that is very rare (and lovely) to see.

Gordon has the type of attitude made for MMA. Would love to see him develop striking skills and compete in the octagon.
being so high level in grappling I'm sure he would do amazing and probably got a shot at getting a title but mma is another beast. The moment you have to go from trying to be elite of the elite in 1 martial art to 2 or 3 at the same time, you no longer can contribute 100% to 1 thing. But then again the goat khabib was a god like grappler so who knows.

@@Detz0325 He'll be doing MMA in a year or two, there's no doubt about it and he will get paid huge by UFC, ONE, or Bellator.
I believe GR has already said that he will transition to MMA in the future and probably would have already but Danaher persuaded him to continue to focus on JuJitsu a little longer to help raise the profile of the sport and to support the rest of his teammates who have helped GR get to the level he is. GR has already started to train in stand-up and striking in preparation for the switch.
He already does stinkig to prepare but it will never be like his strength

Well I can honestly say I've only enjoyed the sport BC of Ryan, I always loved the Gracie's in MMA but watching him become unbeatable is amazing to see.
