I like how Andre first thing shows proudly the treehouse he has build, and Gordon first thing like: "It´s designed specifically to cut the heads off horses in battle."
They're both like a piece of me. I have the side of me that likes to take on new challenges and would take pride in building something for my family, and also the kind of nerd that would love a dorky sword collection 😂

I like how they omitted Gordon Smacking Andre in the warm up area.
Much respect to Andre for admitting he was wrong in approaching Gordon that way. I hope they can put behind them. I don’t think Andre is in any way scared of fighting. He thought he would intimidate Gordon and that was his only intention and it failed. He was basically caught in a conflict he really didn’t want to escalate that far.
Yeah I remember when Andre announced he was going to 'address the video' on social media afterwards, everyone was pretty much saying, "How could he possibly salvage that incident; it's hopeless!" And then...well, he really did! And I really believe what he said. Anyone can get caught up in the moment, and he handled it amazingly.
The only negative aspect for him, potentially, could be that he'd be overly worried -- when it comes to the actual match -- is him being too overly focused on how he's representing himself...he's a veteran so I don't think so, but it's clearly something that still gets brought up & must be (to some degree) on his mind.
That foot sweep on GSP @16:09 and Georges' reaction after were priceless.

The part where Andre talks about being on a path reaching towards God, I completely understand. I remember fighting a ton when I was a kid. Then I started training Jiu jitsu and even after that I fought a lot. But then I got to the next level and realized something. I could hurt somebody or I could mess with the wrong person and then myself get hurt. Sometimes you need a good slap in the face. Now I totally avoid fights. Because I know what could happen.

There needs to be a clarification between ADCC tournament champion and super fight champion. Using this distinction, Marcelo Garcia is the greatest ADCC champion with four tournament wins. Galvao only has one and Gordon has two.

I like Gordon because he is cocky but not the one detached from reality. He states facts. For example when he says that we haven't seen someone as dominant on submissions... since Roger. That's really cool. He doesn't belittle anyone in order to present his greatness.

I really respect Galvao after this. He is humble and shows a lot of wisdom. Gordon Ryan is young and talented but he doesn’t have the character Galvao has. Not now at least.

I was training pretty regularly at Art of Jiu Jitsu during Rafa's last ADCC run, and during that time Andre, Keenan, and some others from SD commuted up to train several times each week. Andre was a very nice guy (from my few experiences talking to / rolling with him), and nice enough to even give me a compliment (via Rafa) a time or two, kindly invited me to come train with them in SD when Rafa was heading down there (I never did -- I work a regular job), and mentioned he picked up something from rolling with me. I say "via Rafa" because -- apparently from seeing this video -- his English has gotten VASTLY better, to where I was actually shocked watching this!
Notably, I'm fairly tiny guy -- like 5'5" on a good day & he obviously could have destroyed me, but never did & instead tried to see if there was anything he could take from our short rolls.
On a side-note: one of the craziest things to get to watch was Rafa going 100% hard with Andre in sparring -- which Rafael mentioned he loved. Realistically there just weren't that many guys that he could really go 100% with at AOJ, and he'd get excited when the opportunity did present itself for him. We'd roll all the time & he'd just conquer every time -- and really anyone-and-everyone (though not in a mean way). Andre was always very controlled with him, and never used his weight (or ego) with someone who, clearly, was a god-tier competitor (regardless of weight class) and getting after him.
Keenan was also an extremely nice dude, had me laughing on a couple of occasions: he was SO physically beat up from training so regularly (sore, bruised and bloodied...he had gotten sick, etc) that one time he just looked at me and said something along the lines of, "I seriously don't know how those guys (Andre and Rafa) do it and aren't just as beat up." :)

I think Angelica said it best. It would've been a miracle for Andre to win against Gordon. Unless he has something happen that makes him unable to compete, Gordon will end his career as the best grappler ever, and itll be like Tom Bradys NFL career. We wont be able to imagine how someone can be better, and we may not live to see that happen. We are alive in the best era for all sports, and we need to enjoy it while we can. So many of the best athletes anyone has ever seen have existed in the last 30 or 40 years. Im extremely grateful to be one of the witnesses to it all!!
