Such a good interview. It's crazy all the album influences Angel was dropping as we are roughly a year apart in age. Away with Words Pt. II is actually my favorite thing that Angel Vivaldi has ever done, and I've really enjoyed his music from way back. Great guy, very smart and a tremendous musician.
Digital vs Tube... Honestly, when I'm at home 9/10 I'm just screwing around plugged into my Marshall DSL100HR or Fender Blues Jr. Tweed because I tend to like to tweak the tone on the fly or run a physical pedal board but for work or if I'm gigging... I've used digital for nearly 20 years.
I've got Axe FX, I have a Line 6 Xt Live, and a Vetta II that I actually bought because I had heard Michael Romeo from Symphony X started using one for touring during The Odyssey era so he wouldn't have to cart around 5 different amps. That being said there is definitely that feel you guys were talking about that you don't get from digital.
One of those things to me is "tube glow". That warmth from a hot tube they haven't seemed to replicate as of yet on Axe FX or Kemper etc.

I do think that if you were able to move past whatever negative feelings you have, you’d find at least one song you’d enjoy. And if not, that’s ok too! At the very least you’d find a person who overcame a lot of adversity in life to make a majority of his dreams happen. Hopefully that counts for something :)
