Here's a tip for you... When softening garlic in butter, right after you put the garlic into the hot butter turn off the burner, cover and allow garlic to soften . By turning off the heat you'll never burn the butter
Many years ago I visited a Mario Batali Restaurant in Vegas. One of the pastas had only cauliflower,s&p,red pepper flake and either Oil or butter. I was a skeptic but it was a great dish. Lesson learned. Love garlic,of course!
There are times I just want a simple plate of garlic butter spaghetti. Thanks for demonstrating how to do that and make it delicious. I have also become fond of Spaghetti alla Carbonara after watching Chef Marc Murphy make it. Yummy! But if I don't have the bacon or melting cheese available, this recipe will also satisfy my craving because I ALWAYS have pasta and Parmigian on hand.
I absolutely love pasta of all kinds. Please salt the water before placing the pasta in because if you don’t 😣. It doesn’t matter what you’re making. It all tastes wrong.
I was thinking before clicking, didn't Emma make a video of this before(I've made it many times). But my family now has jumped ship onto her Onion Buttered Noodles recipe, to date I have made it every week ever since it came out!
Looks delicious but I am so stuck on the classic fusion Asian garlic pasta that even as an Italian American, there seems to be no going back. A staple on our house and often requested.
@@lcflngn Oyster sauce, soy sauce ( I use tamari) and red chili flakes. I adapted Marion's Kitchen's recipe to simplify it. J-Kenzi Lopez-Alt also has a version on RUclips.
Just to show my inner geek, when she has her minor oops moments, she totally reminds me of Fred on the series Angel! Seriously though, great work, and this looks like it will taste fantastic!
This looks good. I hope with black history month coming up we will see a fair representation of ADOS content creators on your U tube channel. ADOS is the true foundation on AMERICAN cooking. ADOS cooked for the enslavers making us the first "chefs". I see a lot of foreign blacks on your platform and not that much representation of the founders (ADOS) of this country that fought through slavery, Jim Crow and civil rights to afford these privileges to ALL immigrants. We must honor ADOS by thanking them and showing up by giving them seats at the table. Please find and PAY ADOS content creators for black history month. @Food52
I'd say Amanda Messes Up in the Kitchen, alright! Maybe toooo many Flagship Brewing brewskis BEFORE she started cooking. 1) Neglected to salt the pasta water after it was boiling - & EVERY cook worth their salt - pun intended - knows this is a no-no. Pasta requires a LOT of salt. The water should TASTE - which she didn't do either - like the ocean/sea, plus some. And said salt should only be added AFTER the water is boiling. Adding it before risks pitting the bottom of your pot (stainless for sure; unsure about others). Pasta Cooking 101. 2) Although she doubled the amount of pasta (to feed her family) she neglected to double the sauce ingredients. Seems to be a case of HITTIN' the sauce before MAKIN' the sauce! 3) Is the garlic minced? Chopped? Grated? Specificity please, both verbally and in the drop-down. I've been making this for 40+ years. I'll sometimes throw in a can of tuna &/or some chopped tomatoes.
To avoid soiling your clothes when you are cooking you can purchase a wonderful accessory called aprons. They work like a charm keeping your clothes clean and they are fun and attractive. Just a suggestion .
Check out our other videos by other contributors -- they're much more "professional". I do mine myself and let's just say the production quality isn't exactly great. :)
Why didn’t you double the butter/garlic when you doubled the pasta? People who let that detail slip by will get a much more bland result. Also I’m not a fan of the “keep the clumsy” editing style. If I’m sitting here thinking I could do a hundred tones better it makes me think I should have my own show instead wondering why I’m watching this one.
The simplest dish yet this was so exquisitely painful to watch. If there is already a video for this, why did we need to watch Amanda fumble her way through it?

I appreciate this video because it seems real.. this is way the everyday cook would actually cook. I love this.
When I was a broke parent my 2 boys lived on and loved this dish, they still ask me to make it.♥️
This was the most charming and wonderful thing that has been part of my life in a month. Thank you!
Thank you!

Amanda is so funny. I love a fellow lady cook who enjoys a cold beer in the kitchen.
Cheers!
Simple and beautiful dish and I love how it's not styled or edited much. That's how we cook at home and it's very refreshing to watch it
This sauce is also beautiful on gnocchi with some peperoncino sprinkled in and a serving of steamed, salted broccoli on the side 🤤
Agree -- sounds great!

Yummy!
Looks amazing, my Italian wife makes this once a week
My favorite is pasta in this manner!
Butter, garlic, Parmesan cheese - salt and fresh cracked pepper is delicious and fast.
But you doubled the pasta and not the sauce! 😭
It worked out tho!
@@amandahesser4071 I imagine that adding some parm over each serving would make up for the lighter covering of sauce?
@@amandag1329 Yes -- parm always helps!
But why not just double the sauce if you’re using twice as much pasta??
@@denagustafson6070 That would have been a good idea -- I just didn't think of it in the moment!
I love Amanda
Broccoli added is GOOD
Would you recommend this with fettuccine?
Yes!
Lol this is real life everyday cooking oops and all 😂
Lol… so she doubled the pasta…. But didn’t double the sauce?!?🤷♀️😂
Beer.
She doubled the butter tho…

The water was boiling furiously when she added what looked like more than enough salt.
