    As a young guy, watching your videos has helped me to avoid much of the fashion mistakes that otherwise, I would have had to learn the hard way. I was able to directly invest into the really good things and thanks to you and your knowledgeable content, I could skip through great parts on the sartorial learning curve, like directly buying more comfortable suits and shirts. You mentioned that fathers nowadays don't teach their sons about such things anymore, however, in my case, you really filled that gap.
    You are one of the very best channels on truly classic menswear on RUclips. Keep it up!

    How cool is this? Three worldly gentlemen in suits shining high-end shoes. I dare say this is "Unique" RUclips content.

    Lol I couldn't help laugh at Kirby's reactions to Joe's attempts. What an enjoyable watch.

    Great video... I keep going back and forth regarding going for the full bespoke or the mtm... I think the trail suit is a must. I still think there should be a Kirby Allison discount for first time orders🙂. Keep up the great work.

    You should have Sven Raphael Schneider on from Gentleman’s Gazette!

    • @markstanton8287
      @markstanton8287 5 лет назад

      B Q don’t see that happening. Sven wrote a fairly snarky review of Hanger Project’s hangers a few years ago that Kirby understandably didn’t appreciate and publicly voiced his displeasure.

      Mark Stanton really? Where did Kirby voice his displeasure? On RUclips?

    Hello Kirby,
    Can you expand more on why you need pleads on trousers?
    Is it an age thing or is it because it's more formal?
    Would you suggest pleads for black tie trousers (with side galon)?
    Love your videos. Thank you for giving us resources to be a better gentleman.

      Pleats on trousers just add to comfort, they offer you more room when you sit down, your thighs usually expand, so it is good to have more fabric to account for that.

      Pants are over tight nowerdays.

    • @paulff3

      Careful, this is sensitive subject with Kirby. I believe in this video you will hear him say he "hates" pants without pleats. I don't recall him ever saying he hates anything.

    • @kamala80

      Pleats are back now. I noticed even Ralph Lauren is bringing back more pleats with their pants and shorts in their latest offerings.

    Kirby, great content as always. My question is regarding pleats. Clearly you have a strong affinity for them but are they suitable for all body types? I would love to hear you discuss this topic in more detail. Thanks for bringing such interesting topics to RUclips.

    How much would one of their "economic" suits with 110s that he talk about costs? Might be going to Hong Kong and may look him up if I can afford it. Thanks in advance.

    Kirby, I have been searching for good bespoke shirting indigenous to the D/FW area. Are there options here? I have been in the MTM camp for several years now but would like to step up my game.

    The title spells Mr. Hemrajani's name incorrectly with the first a and e flipped. Can you fix that? Thanks!

    Do they do women's shirting as well? The wife is also interested.

    1920s were the era where 2" turn up on narrow trousers were the big deal. the late 30s the 2" came back around but on the wider leg. The 60s narrow leg look had not turn up, and the 70's does 20s bell bottom look didn't go for the turn up either. The narrower 80s trousers, think Ralph Lauren, went for the narrow turn up for mens pants, but with women's... they went totally true 1930s with wide legs and 2" cuffs.

    I was just thinking...why does making bespoke shoes require a last to be made but bespoke suits are just cut from a paper pattern. Why wouldn't a paper pattern be good enough for a shoe maker to replicate a shoe for a customer?

    • @timorogenmoser3853
      @timorogenmoser3853 5 лет назад

      Shoes have a very hard shape in places. Also, the leather, in order to get those curves, must be stretched over the last.

    The young one needs to learn from his father to not things so seriously. Do not be bossy and too particular. It’s an art. Tailoring shouldn’t be about perfection. There is a right kind of perfection and a wrong kind. Be mindful of that.
