What's even more interesting about the origin of Pablo Honey's title is that there was another band from the Thames Valley region that also released an album in 1993 whose title was also a Jerky Boys reference - "Souvlaki" by Slowdive, an album I'm sure a lot of Radiohead fans are likely to be familiar with. It makes me wonder if the Jerky Boys were, like, a _thing_ in the youth culture of that specific region of Britain at the time.

Great vid! While watching this, I kept thinking "oh you should've mentioned this" but this would have made this already long video even longer. Stuff like - Thom almost getting signed as a solo act (technically with Ed) - How Thom picked the members (Colin had cool socks, Ed looked like Morrissey) - Jonny originally joined as a keyboardist, but muted his keyboard during performances - Ed borrowing Johnny Marr's guitar - In Rainbows bike - Other song connections like Cuttooth/Myxomatosis, Pulk/True Love Waits - Pop is Dead Anyway, great list! Also appreciate the Mackenzie May part cause that is one of the only Radiohead covers I come back to (and one that never fails to make me emotional)
Man, I thought I was going crazy because I remember the story about them wanting Ed because he looked like Morrissey but I couldn't find a source for it anywhere. Glad to know someone else remembers it. I'm not aware of the In Rainbows bike though.
Off the top of my head, I recall the Morrissey thing being mentioned by Ed in some 1995 interview, probably on the Radiohead Interview Archive on RUclips. Pretty sure Thom also mentioned it, just not sure where. The bike was a one off collab where it was sold/auctioned off for charity during the pandemic, which featured the In Rainbows artwork on it. I'm pretty sure I saw it on their Instagram and really wanted it lol.

For people of a certain age, Creep is an anthem. It's not just the song, it's that moment in history. I can remember being in high school listening to Creep and Prince's Batdance on the local diner's booth jukebox. Look up the guy who sang Creep in the NY subway recently. For him and I, it still has that meaning. Not saying I go out of my way to listen to it, but I'm not going to be bullied into thinking it doesn't mean anything.

Oh, I didn’t expect to see myself here, thank you for adding… (1:11:24) This is not the only cancer-related thing Colin did. Somewhere around The King Of Limbs era, probably in 2013, Colin worked with Children With Cancer UK. There’s sadly not a lot of information about it because the article got deleted, there’s only a link and a photo that suggest that he was baking with kids with cancer :) He also did a lot for Children's Radio Foundation, went to South Africa for it too This (1:08:53) is so fucking funny 😭
No problem! Pretty funny story about that segment actually. Someone suggested the triathlon in my original post and I looked into it, read the BBC article, and thought "this is cool but I'm probably not gonna put it in the video, there's no footage" and I closed it and forgot about it. The next day though I opened up RUclips and the first thing I saw on my home page was your upload of the footage recommended to me. It was like an omen. I watched through it and then immediately added it to the list. So thank you for that! It's cool to know about the other charity work too! Not sure if you tried this already, but it's possible the article could be on archive.org if you still have a link to it. It's worth a shot at least.
@@pookapeeka I checked the article in the wbm as soon as I saw that the link is dead, but sadly it’s not archived. No reposts to Twitter/Facebook too, so I guess it’s gone..
You should really consider making more iceberg stuff, or idk, just longer form content, because your voice is so nice. Specially for background, it's always the same tone; I've drawn with this video on some good times
It's likely I'll get back to longer form content in due time. I've been thinking long-term about the trajectory I want to take this channel and my ideas seem to be shifting toward in-depth informative videos on specific albums, rather than showcasing some odds and sods I find interesting. For albums that matter a lot to me, say, OK Computer, I can definitely see that video being a couple of hours long, getting into the nitty gritty of every last piece of notable detail I can find into one contained video. The first video in this format, which is about Era Vulgaris by Queens of the Stone Age, is already nearly 30 pages long in my doc! I'm gonna try to refine it, but I can't see it being any shorter than 45 minutes. I've also considered doing some chill, laid-back livestreams. For example I could play a Radiohead concert or two and read off some notes about interesting trivia regarding the performance or things relevant to it. I feel like something like that would serve as good background noise without me having to stress out about getting the narration and editing right and everything, plus it would be cool to directly interact with my audience. However I'm also scared shitless that I wouldn't fare too well in a livestream setting so I keep putting it off, aaaaaaaa. Sorry, I practically just used this reply to vent out loud about plans for the channel. I'm glad you like the video though, I'm always happy to read through comments like this. As someone who's also used long form videos a bunch of times to get through various things it's really humbling to know that it's gone full circle in this way.
first video ive ever watched from you and it was sooo good!! great editing, like you keep the video interesting and dive into so much cool facts about my fav band that I never knew before
If I’m correct about the 4th of July party, Thom almost grabbed a wire or something electrical while trying to get out of the pool, but someone managed to move it before anything could happen.
The argument over Idioteque's lyrics is quite sily.... In Fear Stalks The Land, under the section on Idioteque, the lyric is "alive." This is from an official Radiohead book, and probably from the original writings that the songs lyrics take from. No blurry image of Thom writing it down with barely legible hand writing needed!
About the 'Just Origins' topic, it's also notable that Radiohead was absolutely inspired by King Crimson's Red (The song, not the album), just compare the opening riff of Red and the opening riff of Just.
I preferred the original video with swearing and no censorship... Also I vividly remember a cover of Creep being played behind the Mexico 1994 part because I thought the song choice was so perfect but now it's changed. Those are just nitpicks though, I enjoyed the extra bits!
Pretty much both of those changes were forced by RUclips, unfortunately. I hated changing them, especially Creep in Mex94. But fortunately the original video is still viewable, it's just unlisted, you can see a link to it in the pinned comment.
Man where is the Coldplay/Muse comparison? I feel like you've taken down a few videos since I've last watched which is a shame. Love the content hope to hear from you again.
fortunately the original vid is just unlisted and is viewable here: ruclips.net/video/h5V-jgbd9XI/видео.html It even seems to have gotten unmuted, which is a big plus
I have a burnt CD of the King of Limbs with this tracklist: 1. Bloom 2. Morning Mr. Magpie 3. Little By Little 4. The Daily Mail 5. Feral 6. The Butcher 7. Lotus Flower 8. Staircase 9. Supercollider 10. Codex 11. Give Up The Ghost 12. Separator Seems like the way we all imagined it.

Oh, I didn’t expect to see myself here, thank you for adding… (1:11:24)
This is not the only cancer-related thing Colin did. Somewhere around The King Of Limbs era, probably in 2013, Colin worked with Children With Cancer UK. There’s sadly not a lot of information about it because the article got deleted, there’s only a link and a photo that suggest that he was baking with kids with cancer :) He also did a lot for Children's Radio Foundation, went to South Africa for it too
This (1:08:53) is so fucking funny 😭
I love your Pinterest account! :)
@@syrup- thanks, hah…
@@pookapeeka oh, that's fucking cool man! I'm sure to keep on looking than!
1:00:40 Also could refer to the parking lot from the darkened music video for I Might Be Wrong
this popped up im my reccomended. watched the whole thing and i like it :)
In Half Life 2 Episode 1, there is a radiohead reference on the steering wheel of an orange van.
I got to the "Thom yorke is angry" part and somehow I think I tapped something and it went to a live performance of creep lmao
first video ive ever watched from you and it was sooo good!! great editing, like you keep the video interesting and dive into so much cool facts about my fav band that I never knew before
Bro Disappeared completely
If I’m correct about the 4th of July party, Thom almost grabbed a wire or something electrical while trying to get out of the pool, but someone managed to move it before anything could happen.
thank you so much for timestamping the new stuff you are intelligent
This is the most excited I’ve been for a RUclips video in years holy crap 😱😱
The argument over Idioteque's lyrics is quite sily....
In Fear Stalks The Land, under the section on Idioteque, the lyric is "alive." This is from an official Radiohead book, and probably from the original writings that the songs lyrics take from.
No blurry image of Thom writing it down with barely legible hand writing needed!
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOOOSSS WAAAAAAAAAAA
we eatin good tonight ! a TWO HOUR POOJKAPEEKA VIDEO@!!! WOOOOOOOOOO
Great video as always
New favorite channel
cant wait to watch this, just commenting so i wont forget
About the 'Just Origins' topic, it's also notable that Radiohead was absolutely inspired by King Crimson's Red (The song, not the album), just compare the opening riff of Red and the opening riff of Just.
He can't keep getting away with it
Ready to watch the whole thing 😈🐺
I literally watched this on Thom Yorke’s 55th birthday.
I WAS WAITING 4 THE REMASTER OMGG
Mr. Peeka I love your videos can you please make an entire Queens of the Stone Age related video I will love you
Funnily enough, with the Era Vulgaris pfp you have, I think you're gonna like the QOTSA video I'm working on...

no way you made remaster bro u are insanse
love the content man
Amazing video
Only just realized that very being replaced with very is a very reference to creep omvg
i refuse to refer to planet telex as anything but planet tickle now
I preferred the original video with swearing and no censorship...
I've heard drummers get really confused about pyramid song!
you're the cybershell of radiohead
Waiting for the 2 hour analysis of how to be more like colin greenwood
fog is like top 3 radiohead songs for me its def my favorite b side
16:59 makes me want a Radiohead screamo ep
i giggled at the “fullfripp”
The Radiohead Iceberg Explained ㅡ From the basement
Man where is the Coldplay/Muse comparison? I feel like you've taken down a few videos since I've last watched which is a shame. Love the content hope to hear from you again.
Holy lord a remaster!!! I wonder what other things will be shown here. RUclips guidelines i see, also the original video got delisted? (Nvm got it)
Love your Layne pfp man
@@pookapeeka why thank you there mister, your pfp is quite the beauty if I do say so myself

It even seems to have gotten unmuted, which is a big plus
