Hi! I'm sorry, but I am really curious of the band you compared to the song A Wolf At The Door with. It was on minute 29:27. I couldn't understand your pronunciation, mainly because I lack a very good trained English ear, but also captions did not help a lot; tried to search something about Redhead but Blonde Redhead was already a band at Hail To The Thief's release and then I searched up "car seat head breath band?" but it didn't work out. I just really loved A Wolf At The Door and if there is a band that sounds like this, I'm up to it. . . XD
@@RICKERZOYI would like you to know that this is genuinely one of the only RUclips comments ever to genuinely make me laugh out loud. Absolutely golden.
TO UNDERSTAND RADIOHEADS DISCOGRAPHY CHRONOLOGICALLY: PABLO HONEY - 0:58 THE BENDS - 13:46 OK COMPUTER - 46:33 KID A - 37:42 AMNESIAC - 20:57 HAIL TO THE THIEF - 25:45 IN RAINBOWS - 53:23 KING OF LIMBS - 8:18 A MOON SHAPED POOL - 31:58
The bends at 7 literally baffled me. I listen to that album everyday and fake plastic trees makes me almost cry every time I listen to it. Everything about that album is so beautiful. Even the intro song planet telex is amazing. I had my jaw dropped when I seen the bends pop up. Imo the album cover is fire too honestly. I will defend this album until I die and is my favorite one (not the best one but definitely not 2nd to worst).
I don’t get it either. I can only guess it gets overlooked because of songs being overplayed perhaps? So many hits, no misses. Pure gold IMO, I’d put it 3rd over Kid A
It's cool to see how even with the low ranking given to The King of Limbs, there's a great analysis about what makes the album innovative and interesting.
Good lord, this is well done. Detailed, engaging, comedic, and just very entertaining overall. Your channel is basically Let Down because it's... it's uh....
I'm starting to get paranoid over the fact this video doesn't get the recognition it deserves despite me being an android user. Every statement made here was true and I love everything about this video and I can't waits for you to upload more. Its a literal pyramid scheme how a video that analyzes every song from radio head's discography in an engaging comedic way isn't recognized and I only hope for more subs for you. I'd literally go nude in public just to get the views up for this video and it'd honestly be no surprise to see this channel skyrocket when you make more videos like this. I'm so lucky to have stumbled upon this in my recommendations.
Oh this has a disappointingly small amount of likes, the amount of effort that went into this video is unreal. I hope you get the recognition you deserve, I just recently got into Radiohead and this put me onto some of their less mainstream stuff so I can't thank you enough for that. Can't wait to see more content like this, every video of yours is so unique and I genuinely can't even begin to guess what you'll upload next.
My ranking of the albums: 1. OK Computer 2. In Rainbows 3. Hail to the Thief 4. Kid A 5. Amnesiac 6. The Bends 7. A Moon Shaped Pool 8. The King of Limbs 9. Pablo Honey My favorite songs are Videotape, I Might Be Wrong, Paranoid Android, Airbag, Karma Police, Exit Music, Dollars and Cents, Maquiladora, Street Spirit, and Lucky.
The Bends has an all-time iconic cover, gtfo here! 😡🤬 King of Limbs is also way better than people give it credit for. Codex is fantastic, Separator is a phenomenal closer and Lotus Flower in addition to being a great song has one of the best music videos ever to grace a fanbase. If you bounced off TKOL at some point, the Live From the Basement sessions are def something to watch: really really great stuff.
The Bends is the opposite of underrated, I’ve seen people praising it so much. I honestly think it’s a bit overrated, sure it’s a good album but it has some skips. If you send me death threats I won’t care
My raking of the albums: 1. Kid A (fav songs: Idioteque & In Limbo) 1. Ok Computer (fav songs: Lucky & No Surprises) 1. In Rainbows (fav songs: Videotape & Weird Fishes) 1. Present Tense (A Moon Shaped Pool) (this will be continued) (this list will be constantly changing)
We have the same favorite songs from each except (for me) Sail to the Moon is 2nd to There There and I'd replace Bullet Proof with Fake Plastic Trees. We definitely both like the ethereal, ballady radiohead stuff.
My list: 1. Ok Computer (Top 3: Paranoid Android, Exit Music, Karma Police) 2. The Bends (Top 3: Fake Plastic Trees, Street Spirit, Just) 3. Kid A (Top 3: Idioteque, How To Disappear Completely, Motion Picture Soundtrack) 4. In Rainbows (Top 3: Nude, Weird Fishes, Jigsaw Falling Into Place) 5. Hail To The Thief (Top 3: 2+2=5, Sail To The Moon, A Wolf At The Door) 6. A Moon Shaped Pool (Top 3: Daydreaming, Decks Dark, True Love Waits) 7. Amnesiac (Top 3: You And Whose Army?, Pyramid Song, Knives Out) 8. The King Of Limbs (Top 3: Codex, Give Up The Ghost, Lotus Flower) H U G E G A P I N Q U A L I T Y 9. Pablo Honey (Top 3: You, Creep (I know I hate the song too but Pablo Honey is just generally shit anyway. Don't kill me), Blow Out) A lot of the albums on this list (especially in the top 4) are very close in quality and could be switched by a position or two depending on my mood. APART FROM PABLO HONEY 9th AND OK COMPUTER 1st.
This is one of the most well-researched and presented videos that also has one of the wildest rankings of Radiohead's albums I've ever encountered. I still watched the whole thing, so…… good work!
For me, Treefingers feels like a state of emotional catatonia or dissociation caused by being overwhelmed by something like anxiety or depression for too long. It feels like there's a thick wall between your mind and the noisy and chaotic reality around you. The wall is your brain's defence mechanism protecting you from further trauma. Those thick synths are that wall. Your body is here, but your brain is far away.
I love how each Radiohead album manages to capture different emotions - Hail to the Thief is angry, A Moon Shaped Pool makes you cry, and Amnesiac creeps you out
Brother I tell you, I have never listened to Radiohead in my life but I sat down and watched this entire video. I thought maybe I could play Rollercoaster Tycoon while I listened, but once I saw the visual element I knew you'd have my full attention. Also thanks to the vid, I realized the Porcupine Tree album "Stupid Dream" is some kind of a play on Radiohead, especially since one the lines in a song is "You keep me in a room full of friends, you keep me listening to the Bends". Knowing Steven Wilson, he was just jealous because there exists another musician roughly as sad as him. Anyway, great work!
Thanks a ton man. Getting comments like this is a big part of what keeps me going. It means a lot, especially when coming from a fellow content creator! Also, I must say, you have some damn fine videos on your channel. I am officially subscribed and eagerly excited to see more 🔥
Funny, I'm so Autechre-brained, or maybe electronic-music-brained in general that it never occurred to me that `King of Limbs' is experimental. That album and `Heart Shaped Pool' are my favourites, and I've been listening to them since `Pablo Honey'. I still remember the day "The Bends" came out---I was so excited, because I never thought I'd hear from them again after Pablo, and whooo boy does that album still stir a lot of sad, heart-broken teenager feelings in me. Still, I find King and Moon the most listenable, most enjoyable. I think of it as their period of *just being* incredibly talented, intelligent musicians, but without having to prove anything. Like, just kind of basking in their own creative juices and enjoying themselves. Contra that, I find `OK Computer' exhausting. Like, it's brilliant and a masterpiece and all that, but it's just too much. `Kid A' too, though to a much lesser extent. There's almost an analogy with Steely Dan. `Aja' is a phenomenal album, but I like `Gaucho' much more. The title song is hands down my fav Steely Dan song (despite it being something of a theft on their part). But even more than that, I love `Two Against Nature' most. Again, very listenable. The former two, like `OK Computer' and `Kid A' just try so damned hard, and it can be a wee bit exhausting. Whereas the latter, in both cases, is just pure talent expressing itself without all the drama. At least in my imagination. I have no idea how any of those albums were made. Anyway, great vid. Really took me through memory lane.
Loved this video! Also, couldn't agree more with your ranking. I love Ok Computer just as much as the next guy, but In Rainbows is just sublime. I really like how you use this format, because I've watched all your videos and you'll often rank the albums of projects I haven't listened to at all and still you'll hold my attention throughout and even get me interested in their music. Thanks, man!
I describe In Rainbows like this: it has gotten slightly better each time I’ve listened to it. If you would’ve asked me 5 years ago, I would’ve put OKC and Kid A ahead of it. I didn’t appreciate songs like Nude, Weird Fishes, Videotape, and even Faust Arp as much as I do now. It has gotten better with each re-listen to the point where it has become my favorite album of all time, period. Nude - Weird Fishes - All I Need - Faust Arp- Reckoner is my favorite 20 minutes of music ever. Bangers on bangers on bangers.
My list and opinions: (Read all of it, I dare you) 1)OK Computer Probably the safest choice for the top spot, but it will never fail to sound incredible. OK Computer maintains a strong theme of our world becoming a dystopia and the urge to escape that comes with it. It also has a distinct, almost otherworldly sound which is present in almost every track- it's like an album sent down from another planet. It has a greater range than its predecessor and has no bad songs at all (anyone who tells you otherwise needs another listen). In addition, it also boasts the immense Paranoid Android, my favourite Radiohead song of all time. 2nd place is actually quite close to this, but ultimately this was the only choice. (🥇Paranoid Android 🥈No Surprises 🥉Airbag) 2)The Bends Yes, its an 'easy-on-the-ears' rock album for the most part. Yes, it explores less musical elements than later projects. However, The Bends executes everything it does pretty much perfectly. The production is great and Thom's vocals are significantly improved. Like OK Computer, I enjoyed every song on the album- they're bold, powerful and very catchy. And when it does slightly deviate from it's rock formula, it provides some of the best songs on the album. (🥇(Nice Dream) 🥈Street Spirit 🥉My Iron Lung) 3) In Rainbows This and the next two albums are so hard to separate, and although they're basically interchangeable, In Rainbows is my number 3. It just grows and grows on you with every listen and maybe over time this could climb the rankings even further. I just have more of a personal connection with The Bends and OK Computer. That aside, In Rainbows is a beautiful album which leans more on acoustic instrumentals than anything they've done, a choice which works very well in it's favour. It sounds a little less 'grand' than other projects, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The album is groovy, often upbeat and wonderfully artistic. I love every track, apart from Reckoner- I just don't 'get' the song quite yet. But that is probably the only skip- even underlooked songs such as Faust Arp are special in their respective ways. (such a satisfying track) (🥇Nude 🥈Jigsaw Falling into Place 🥉Bodysnatchers) *Joint* 4th) Kid A and A Moon Shaped Pool No, I won't place either album in 4th or 5th, that wouldn't feel right. We'll start with Kid A. One of the biggest musical changes in history, Kid A introduces us to Radiohead's electronic side. And the opener-Everything In Its Right Place- is a brilliant way to do it. The album has songs like Idioteque and Kid A which create their own alien/techno sound, which is so, so unique and I love it. Tracks such as Optimistic and In Limbo bring guitars back into the fray, and would it be a Radiohead album without a sad side? How To Dissappear Completely and Motion Picture Soundtrack are possibly two of the most heart-wrenching and depressing songs in the band's entire collection. Kid A is great, and I feel it would be even better if I'd have been alive to experience it's release. Hearing the first notes of the opener and hearing this futuristic melody must've been an amazing experience. (🥇Optimistic 🥈Motion Picture Soundtrack 🥉Everything in Its Right Place) Now for a Moon Shaped Pool. If someone put this within their top 3 i wouldn't have any complaints- it's a valid choice. This album features quite a lot of orchestral work, and it really does feel like it was created by a large team of people. The production is clearly spectacular and every track feels fully fledged and complete. It also feels gloomy, and it's certainly Radiohead's most depressing album. There can be multiple interpretations of the record- it's heavily layered and rich with melancholic themes. Like you said, there isn't much variety here but despite this I think each song is still different and have their own beautiful qualities. And probably one of AMSP's best features is Thom's fragile, matured voice which elevates it even further. Im speaking like this is my favourite album, and maybe it is, I dont even know. Songs like The Numbers and Desert Island Disk are yet to grow on me but I'm sure they will in time. (🥇Decks Dark 🥈Daydreaming 🥉Present Tense) 6)Hail To The Thief I agree with most of the criticisms towards this album. It does feel quite 'bloated' with all the tracks and doesn't seem to have a strong sense of direction. That being said, I do also agree that there are some gems on this album. I appreciate all of Radiohead's music, but there are some forgettable tracks on HTTT. However, then there's There There with it's awesome climax, the heavily underrated Scatterbrain and the ominous Wolf At The Door. Unfortunately not stellar, but a very good album nonetheless. (🥇There, There 🥈Sail to the Moon 🥉Scatterbrain) 7)Amnesiac It feels wrong putting Amnesiac this low, but when looking at the albums ahead of it it cant really go anywhere else. It's definitely 'fuller' than just B-Sides but it also lacks aspects of an amazing Radiohead album. I suppose I really like Amnesiac, but i dont absolutely love it. I mean, all the songs are generally solid (I even enjoy the scratchy beat of Pulk/Pull) and there are some significant standouts like Pyramid Song. But theres just something missing. Overall though, it's a welcome extension of Kid A and is a very well-done alternative record. (🥇Knives Out 🥈Like Spinning Plates 🥉Life in A Glasshouse) 8) The King Of Limbs This is where most people put this album, and I'd love to be different, but unfortunately i feel this is where it belongs. It's actually quite a fun listen, with all the experimental techniques and nuances to notice. And the percussion gets a bit funky aswell, notably on Morning Mr. Magpie. Alrhough it's lacking real substance in most of it's tracks, I believe it's...fine. But I can see why fans in 2011 wouldve been dissapointed by the heavily experimental nature of an album they'd been anticipating for 4 years. It's short, and it avoids becoming too dense with just excessive, noise(?) (🥇Separator 🥈Codex 🥉Morning Mr. Magpie) 9) Pablo Honey Yeah. By no means bad, and for a debut album it is decent. Songs like You and the refreshing Blowout are probably the highlights of the record. Even Anyone Can Play Guitar isn't bad, despite being nowhere near similar to RH's work a couple years on. However, it inevitably becomes bogged down by average tracks which fill the middle of the album. If you listened to PH in one go like I did, it likely became lacklustre halfway through as the sosngs seemed to blend into one cacophony of electric noise. (Sorry How Do You and Ripcord) But maybe that's harsh. No Radiohead albums are bad, it's just the style and overall quality of Pablo Honey doesn't compare to every other project. For a 90s rock album though, it's perfectly fine. (🥇You 🥈Blowout 🥉Creep) You didnt have to read all of this, i just wanted something to do lol
Great video essay, been getting into your content after seeing your Breaking Bad analysis, awesome stuff!! One minor correction though - Thom Yorke didn't give Kid A the name it has because it was supposed to be the name of the first human clone, he just liked a fan interpretation that saw it as that. I'm also pretty sure it was the idea that the first human clone might be _already out there somewhere,_ which I think is a really cool and chilling thought. Kid A was the filename of one of Yorke's sequencers, according to Wikipedia, he said he liked the idea of the album title being meaningless. I was a little disappointed when I first learned this, but I guess it matches the music's very abstract and interpretive nature
A great critique. I watched this with an open mind and taking on the Caveats you made from the start about this being your opinions which may differ from the listener (Me). Whereas that may be, I found the last hour and six minutes extremely well devised. Thought provoking, intelligent, kind, non controversial, well argued and enlightening. Excellent bit of work. Thanks, I thoroughly enjoyed your originality.
i found your slippin jimmy video really funny and now going to ur channel i see u have an hour long video about my favorite band too? omfg new favorite channel fr

@@mrp4242this is my list too!! Bends is probably my favourite album. the only difference is i wouldn’t rate pablo honey so high. but i was born in ‘02 not the 70s haha
Engaging AF even though I've lived and breathed Radiohead and tried to learn its meaning throughout my whole life. There's nothing to nitpick, you totally were able to find the right depth to explain these things that a fresh listener would find agreeable, and a long time listener would meme. Thank you :)
1. OK computer (fav exit music) 2. in Rainbows (fav weird fishes) 3. Kid A (fav how to disappear completely) 4. The Bends (fav nice dream or planet telex) 5. amnesiac (fav knives out) 6. hail to the theif (fav wolf at the door) 7. A moon shaped pool (fav Glass eyes) 8. Pablo Honey (fav Stop Whispering) 9. The King of Limbs (fav Codex)
I believe you've just about got it right! What an intrepid feat, considering the probable consequences. No slagging here except maybe for a few song choices but to endeavor upon an almost futile and thankless task, BRAVO!
As a fan, coming across this really made my day, as the last time I saw them live was when they toured North America in 2018. Most compilations of this nature are really clinical and a bit cynical as well. You really put the time in and it shows. I'll stop banging on about it but you've really made the quintessential list.IMO. You deserve a pint (or two!) Three cheers 🍻 for you! Good Man 👍 !
A very well made video. Thumb up for sure. I was first introduced to Radiohead in 1993 in the summer between high school and college. I bought Pablo Honey right after they hit it in the US and I really liked it--it was getting continuous play at my house. My fandom grew over their next couple albums snd Radiohead was poised to be the ‘best band ever’ considering their trajectory. But then I was one of those that initially thought Kid A was “too much of a left turn,” but it has since grown on me much more. Now, I consider it an excellent work. That said, I’ll generally choose their more ‘guitar and piano driven stuff’ over the electronica stuff-particularly electronic drums. If I wanted that, I’d listen to Depesche Mode. This is true, even within albums--for example, I prefer Desert Island Disk over the more ballyhooed Decks Dark. And I’ll take ‘Optimistic’ over ‘Idioteque’. Therefore, my tastes in genres will be evident in my album rankings, along with my age, how long I’ve been listening to Radiohead and the nostalgia factor. Let’s Go! In the end, I don’t dislike any album. King of Limbs is not an album I typically yearn to listen to all the way though, almost never, but I still think it’s fine--Morning Mr Magpie is solid, for example. Two albums I put in the ‘good’ category; I generally like listening to them, but there’s a bit of bloat. Two albums I consider ‘really good’. One album is great, but just falls short of perfection, and three I consider ‘Legendary’ and were my picks for ‘Album of the Year’ the year they came out--and I’ve had them there since since their release, not wavering. So is Radiohead my favorite band of all time? Not quite, but close. In my Top-3. So here’s my list: 1. Ok Computer. Album of the Year 1997. I think this is their magnum opus. In my top-10 albums of all time. When my kids (aged 12-24) have asked me what do I consider Radiohead’s standards, I point them to this album. Favorite: Karma Police. Least Favorite: Fitter Happier 2. The Bends. Album of the Year 1995. No duds. At all. Riffs, lyrics, mood, production, vocals. Total package. Iconic cover. This is a complete Rock album. Fav: Street Spirit. Least Fav: Bones 3. In Rainbows. Album of the Year 2007. They were right to separate the main album from “Disc 2.” Fav: Reckoner. Least Fav: 15 Step The next four albums have all rotated rotated in the 4-7 spots for me depending on my mood. I put them all nearly about the same, but with HttT being slightly behind the others because of excess of skippable tracks and no significant youth nostalgia to make it up. The ranking below though is based on my most common of moods and where historically I tend to keep them. 4. Kid A. Runner up for Album of the Year 2000 (Coldplay’s ‘Parachutes’). I think the album is great, but I fall short of this being Legendary--other than maybe being legendary for the said ‘left turn’ mentioned earlier. I think there are absolutely excellent tracks here but some, Idioteque comes to mind, are in my mind vastly over-appreciated. Still, with songs like ‘How to Disappear Completely” and “Optimistic” its a great listen that has grown on me over the years. Maybe by the time I’m 80, I’ll think Treefingers is swell too. Fav: How to Disappear Completely. Least Fav: In Limbo 5. Pablo Honey. Honorable mention for AotY 1993 (Counting Crows ‘August and Everything After’). Some real bangers here. And for a debut release, it is actually quite good. A little bloated, sure, but matched time. There are some ‘samey’ tracks that I tend to skip: ‘I can’t’ and ‘How do You’ come to mind-swap those out for ‘Pop is Dead’…No, seriously. Would have been awesome if Pop is Dead was on there, because Radiohead would be forced to completely disavow the record! But in the end I like most of these songs probably better than most Radiohead fans, and I’ve come to grips with that. It’s quite. Debut album. And as one who grew up in the Grunge era, I’ll choose this album over King of Limbs everyday, and twice on Tuesday. Today is Tuesday. Fav: You. Least Fav: I can’t 6. Amnesiac. Runner up for AotY 2001 (The Shins ‘Oh, Inverted World’). This album has some of my top Radiohead picks but also a few of my lowest picks, so it’s a bit roller-coaster for me. Thus, even though some days I might like this album as much-or even more than Kid A--I dont think its ‘quite as good of an album’; not as polished. So it falls to 6. Fav: Pyramid Song. Least fav: Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors 7. Hail to the Thief. Honorable mention 2003 (The Shin’s ‘Chutes Too Narrow’). Even though I don’t always (or even often) agree with the politics of the bands I listen to, it doesn’t generally affect how I see the music, and doesn’t play a role in how I view this album-which again I consider to be ‘good’. Plus most of the politicking here is ‘the government is generally bad and oppressive’ or ‘don’t be a douchebag’ which I think most people can agree with in general. Or, as is all great art, it’s left in the interpretation of the listener. For example 2+2 = 5 can mean a lot of different things for a lot of different people. Which is nice. Like Amnesiac, I think HttT has some really top picks (There, There, Sail to the Moon) but it is also bogged down by too many skippable tracks, on par with Pablo Honey and Amnesiac. Fav: There, There. Least Fav: The Gloaming 8. Moon Shaped Pool. Runner up for AotY 2016 (Radical Face’s ‘Family Tree: The Leaves’). This one is a soundscape album. Another solid entry. If I’m in the mood, there are times where I consider it amongst the best stuff Radiohead has ever done--but I have to be in THAT mood, which is less frequent than the mood I am in now; the mood where I feel Radiohead is old, they are rich and the music reflects that. Nothing too offensive, but there are days where I just find it a bit….ahem…boring, maybe? Still good. Still good. Still miles ahead of my #9 pick. Fav: Daydreaming. Least Fav: Ful Stop 9. King of Limbs. Too much electronica and repetition for my taste. But if people want to really like, I’m not bothered by that. Fav: Morning Mr. Magpie. Least Fav: Feral I would love for Radiohead to release a 10th album. Even if, like the vast majority of bands, the material is not as good as their zenith, it will still be Radiohead. I don’t appreciate their solo and spin-off stuff in anywhere near the same capacity, as they truly are more than just the sum of the parts. That said, until that happens, I guess The Smile will have to do. Cheers fellow Radiohead fans.
Holy shit, THIS IS SUCH A GOOD VIDEO The jokes took me out every time (fAt *boom* UgLY *boom* DEAD *queen* lmfao, I love early Radiohead memes) The information was factual and useful, with no unnecessary dick-riding _or_ bashing And it's also just a history lesson on the band in general, done in a very concise and accessible manner My personal ranking and list of favourites from each album may be different (just like for every RH fan ever), but I can understand and appreciate your ranking too 😌 very valid opinions THANK YOU A LOT FOR THIS ✨
Unpopular list: 1. A Hail To The Thief (fav A Wolf at the Door) 2. In Rainbows (fav NUDE) 3. Amnesiac (fav Life in a Glasshouse) 4. Kid A (fav How To Disappear Completely) 5. Ok Computer (fav Exit Music) 6. The King Of Limbs (fav BLOOM) 7. The Bends (fav Planet Telex) 8. A Moon Shaped Pool (fav Glass Eyes) 9. This is pretty much how I would rank it, just swapping OK Computer and In Rainbows. Nice picks for favorite songs too, although for HTTT I'd choose There, There
My ranking: 1. OK Computer (fav tracks: No Surprises, Paranoid Android) 2. In Rainbows (fav tracks: Reckoner, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi) 3. Kid A (fav tracks: Optimistic, In Limbo) 4. I actually unironically enjoy Treefingers very much, especially in the context of the album IMO it provides a very necessary meditation zone between incredibly emotional and powerful tracks, it's a safe little limbo zone in the midst of a very texture-rich experimental album that allows you time to take everything in I think that it also builds up the auditory painting of the record as much as the other tracks on it - it sounds like being lost in that album cover It didn't stand out to me much the 1st listen, but when I came back to go through the album again I felt like I *needed* this little ambient breather Anyway, it's my 8th favourite on Kid A (out of 10 tracks, not counting the unnamed secret one) Thank you for coming to my TED Talk
My list would be 1. OK Computer 2. The Bends 3. In Rainbows 4. Hail To the Thief 5. Kid A 6. Pablo Honey 7. A Moon Shaped Pool 8. Amnesiac 9. The King Of Limbs
Ranked Radiohead but honestly as my fave band I love every album nonetheless 1. Ok Computer 2. Kid A 3. In Rainbows 4. Hail to the Thief 5. Amnesiac 6. King of Limbs 7. The Bends 8. Moon Shaped Pool 9. Pablo Honey
My ranking: 1. Ok Computer (10/10) 2. Kid A (10/10) 3. In Rainbows (10/10) 4. A Moon Shaped Pool (9/10) 5. Amnesiac (8/10) 6. The Bends (7/10) 7. Hail To The Thief (7/10) 8. The King Of Limbs (7/10) 9. Pablo Honey (5/10)
Finally, someone who also says The Bend isn't up there with Ok Computer, I personally think it's one of their weaker albums, not terrible by any means, just not on the level of their later stuff.
1. OK Computer 2. The Bends 3. In Rainbows 4. Amnesiac 5. A moon shaped pool 6. Kid A 7. Hail to the thief 8. King of Limbs 9. The Bends Favourite track: Just 4. In Rainbows Favourite track: Jigsaw Falling Into Place 5. Kid A Favourite track: Everything In It's Right Place 6. A Moon Shaped Pool Favourite track: Daydreaming 7. Amnesiac Favourite track: I Might Be Wrong 8. King of Limbs Favourite track: Little By Little 9. Pablo Honey Favourite track: Creep

I recently listened to Radiohead's discography. I don't know Radiohead as much as you do, but I'd rate the albums about the same, although I would put The Bends behind Kid A and probably swap nr 1 and 2.
When Johnny Greenwood joined the band he could only play clarinet! Despite this the band agreed to let him join and he would soon learn several other instruments and proved himself a vital member
Very good video. I definitely agree for the top two. One difference for me, though, is that I don't feel the other albums even come close to OK Computer or In Rainbows. Not that they're bad, but those two are significantly better.

I am officially subscribed and eagerly excited to see more 🔥
@@VerdanaVideos Cheers mate, I appreciate it 🍻
I think Steve Wilson is a fan although I can not remember where I read it.
Fantastic video my guy, fucking great documentary
My list and opinions: (Read all of it, I dare you)
1)OK Computer
Probably the safest choice for the top spot, but it will never fail to sound incredible.
(🥇Paranoid Android 🥈No Surprises 🥉Airbag)
2)The Bends
Yes, its an 'easy-on-the-ears' rock album for the most part.
(🥇(Nice Dream) 🥈Street Spirit 🥉My Iron Lung)
3) In Rainbows
This and the next two albums are so hard to separate, and although they're basically interchangeable, In Rainbows is my number 3.
(such a satisfying track)
(🥇Nude 🥈Jigsaw Falling into Place 🥉Bodysnatchers)
*Joint* 4th) Kid A and A Moon Shaped Pool
No, I won't place either album in 4th or 5th, that wouldn't feel right.
(🥇Optimistic 🥈Motion Picture Soundtrack 🥉Everything in Its Right Place)
Now for a Moon Shaped Pool.
(🥇Decks Dark 🥈Daydreaming 🥉Present Tense)
6)Hail To The Thief
I agree with most of the criticisms towards this album.
(🥇There, There 🥈Sail to the Moon 🥉Scatterbrain)
7)Amnesiac
It feels wrong putting Amnesiac this low, but when looking at the albums ahead of it it cant really go anywhere else.
(🥇Knives Out 🥈Like Spinning Plates 🥉Life in A Glasshouse)
8) The King Of Limbs
This is where most people put this album, and I'd love to be different, but unfortunately i feel this is where it belongs.
It's short, and it avoids becoming too dense with just excessive, noise(?)
(🥇Separator 🥈Codex 🥉Morning Mr. Magpie)
9) Pablo Honey
Yeah.
(Sorry How Do You and Ripcord)
But maybe that's harsh. No Radiohead albums are bad, it's just the style and overall quality of Pablo Honey doesn't compare to every other project. For a 90s rock album though, it's perfectly fine.
(🥇You 🥈Blowout 🥉Creep)
You didnt have to read all of this, i just wanted something to do lol
I definitely agree with the bends I was kinda surprised that some people don’t like it lol
you deserve your subscriber count tenfold, excellent scripting, editing, everything

Yet another based video with excellent editing. Great job!

My fave will always be Kid A. i.e. How to Disappear Completely had me spinning on my head.
Black Star is likely one of my favorite songs by Radiohead, maybe even ever.
istg i ascended when i heard it for the first time
This is such a good video bro
Engaging AF even though I've lived and breathed Radiohead and tried to learn its meaning throughout my whole life. There's nothing to nitpick, you totally were able to find the right depth to explain these things that a fresh listener would find agreeable, and a long time listener would meme. Thank you :)
Great list! I pretty much agree with every single placement here.
I would rank the KOL basement session pretty high if that was the album.
this video deserves atleast a million views, nice work man
1. OK computer (fav exit music)
2. in Rainbows (fav weird fishes)
3. Kid A (fav how to disappear completely)
4. The Bends (fav nice dream or planet telex)
5. amnesiac (fav knives out)
6. hail to the theif (fav wolf at the door)
7. A moon shaped pool (fav Glass eyes)
8. Pablo Honey (fav Stop Whispering)
9. The King of Limbs (fav Codex)
You're saying interesting shit with great humor. Great video!
And stop with the Let Down joke.
Everything in its right place, just gives me goose bumps its soo good.
So here’s my list:
1. Ok Computer. Album of the Year 1997. I think this is their magnum opus. In my top-10 albums of all time. When my kids (aged 12-24) have asked me what do I consider Radiohead’s standards, I point them to this album.
Favorite: Karma Police. Least Favorite: Fitter Happier
2. The Bends. Album of the Year 1995. No duds. At all. Riffs, lyrics, mood, production, vocals. Total package. Iconic cover. This is a complete Rock album.
Fav: Street Spirit. Least Fav: Bones
3. In Rainbows. Album of the Year 2007. They were right to separate the main album from “Disc 2.”
Fav: Reckoner. Least Fav: 15 Step
The next four albums have all rotated rotated in the 4-7 spots for me depending on my mood.
Least Fav: In Limbo
Fav: You. Least Fav: I can’t
Least fav: Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors
Least Fav: The Gloaming
Least Fav: Ful Stop
9. King of Limbs. Too much electronica and repetition for my taste. But if people want to really like, I’m not bothered by that.
Fav: Morning Mr. Magpie. Least Fav: Feral
I would love for Radiohead to release a 10th album.
Man I'm struggling to figure out how Kid A could be a runner up to Parachutes.
LETS GO another radiohead and the shins fan
Holy shit, THIS IS SUCH A GOOD VIDEO
The jokes took me out every time (fAt *boom* UgLY *boom* DEAD *queen* lmfao, I love early Radiohead memes)
The information was factual and useful, with no unnecessary dick-riding _or_ bashing
And it's also just a history lesson on the band in general, done in a very concise and accessible manner
My personal ranking and list of favourites from each album may be different (just like for every RH fan ever), but I can understand and appreciate your ranking too 😌 very valid opinions
THANK YOU A LOT FOR THIS ✨

how can you say amnesiac is better than kid a when it was just the leftovers that wasnt good evnough to go on kid a
@@bumba5897 Amnesiac is more consistent.

Dam your so unique😐
This is a great list.
@@xtra_krispy693ok httt lover🙄
This is pretty much how I would rank it, just swapping OK Computer and In Rainbows. Nice picks for favorite songs too, although for HTTT I'd choose There, There
The bends behind httt is criminal for me
My ranking:
1. OK Computer (fav tracks: No Surprises, Paranoid Android)

6: Kid A.
7: The King Of Limbs.
8: Amnesiac.
9: Pablo Honey.
I staunchly defend Treefingers and even Hunting Bears to an extent. And Electioneering easily earns its spot... and its place in the track listing.
i love treefingers. I love it more than fitter happier, even though i still rarely skip fitter. I never skip treefingers
I actually unironically enjoy Treefingers very much, especially in the context of the album
IMO it provides a very necessary meditation zone between incredibly emotional and powerful tracks, it's a safe little limbo zone in the midst of a very texture-rich experimental album that allows you time to take everything in
I think that it also builds up the auditory painting of the record as much as the other tracks on it - it sounds like being lost in that album cover
It didn't stand out to me much the 1st listen, but when I came back to go through the album again I felt like I *needed* this little ambient breather
Anyway, it's my 8th favourite on Kid A (out of 10 tracks, not counting the unnamed secret one)
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk
I always enjoy a Radiohead analysis video because everyone gets something different from the band.
My list would be
1. OK Computer
2. The Bends
3. In Rainbows
4. Hail To the Thief
5. Kid A
6. Pablo Honey
7. A Moon Shaped Pool
8. Amnesiac
9. The King Of Limbs

1. Ok Computer
2. Kid A
3. In Rainbows
4. Hail to the Thief
5. Amnesiac
6. King of Limbs
7. The Bends
8. Moon Shaped Pool
9. Pablo Honey
MSP and The Bends were done dirty

6. The Bends (7/10)
7. Hail To The Thief (7/10)
8. The King Of Limbs (7/10)
9. Pablo Honey (5/10)
Finally, someone who also says The Bend isn't up there with Ok Computer, I personally think it's one of their weaker albums, not terrible by any means, just not on the level of their later stuff.
This might be the best Radiohead related video I’ve ever seen.
Good god that was fantastic. This video is severely underrated.
1. OK Computer
2. The Bends
3. In Rainbows
4. Amnesiac

Another banger from Verdana
Idk why but the random Tilda Swinton pop up around 40:13 floored me 😂
This video is sooo well done, i love it!
Great video! Love the fact that I was not alone in interpreting In Rainbows like you did, and I agree with everything you said here. Glad to see someone who Gets it. Thanks for this!

Good list. I guess it’s cool too dislike The Bends. I never see it ranked high. I still think it’s top 3.
since everyone else is sharing theirs, heres my personal ranking;
1. in rainbows (jigsaw falling into place)
2. ok computer (paranoid android, shoutout to airbag though)
3. amsp (burn the witch/ful stop)
4. httt (there, there)
5. the bends (my iron lung/fake plastic trees)
6. amnesiac (liagh/awatd/i might be wrong)
7. kid a (motion picture soundtrack)
8. tkol (codex)
9. pablo honey (you)
honestly, my top 5 are pretty interchangeable; mostly depends if i've been listening to one album too regularly, i'll get bored and need to give it a while before i start looping it again.
placing the bends at number 7 is CRAAAAAZZZYYYYY
I recently listened to Radiohead's discography. I don't know Radiohead as much as you do, but I'd rate the albums about the same, although I would put The Bends behind Kid A and probably swap nr 1 and 2.
*man The Bends should be placed between Kid A and OK Comp. obviously*
I found AMSP more melancholic and nostalgic than sad or deppressing.
radiohead have the best evolution in music ever
What a superb video. Thanks. Agree In Rainbows number 1
every radiohead album anally ranked next please
Awesome video! Would love to hear you rank more George Bush moments.
blow out sounds like it could've been a b-side from the bends or ok computer
as i say Another Day. Another W
you did not put tkol below pablo honey so already this is better than fantano's ranking
The fact that you almost ranked The Bends below The King of Limbs is criminal
Yes, finally someone giving present tense some credit
When Johnny Greenwood joined the band he could only play clarinet! Despite this the band agreed to let him join and he would soon learn several other instruments and proved himself a vital member
4:38 HELPP THE DIFFERENT IMAGES POPPING UP
The Bends is in my top 3 personally, but im no music critic, so what would I know. Hell, I even like Pablo Honey.
Very good video. I definitely agree for the top two. One difference for me, though, is that I don't feel the other albums even come close to OK Computer or In Rainbows. Not that they're bad, but those two are significantly better.
For me it’s pobló honey king of limbs the bends amnesiac hail to the thief okay computer kid a and in first a moon shaped pool bc it sounds so beautiful and surreal. It just is so meaningful I think I had 12 panic attacks listing to daydreaming💀
that Bloom From The Basement version is truly 11/10
My list (don’t kill me please)

Favorite track: How To Disappear Completely

W list tbh
I recently did a first listen through their albums, and I honestly loved Pablo Honey. I know it's not what you would want from Radiohead, but I love that type of music. Not their best, but a solid top 4 album for me after the golden three
my ranking is ALMOST IDENTICAL with the exception of my placement of A Moon Shaped Pool being in #2.
