she mentions that "imagination is the image producing function of the psyche". Music is a whole different world I suppose and you can work with it in a different way as a method of connecting with the inner and healing
I find when I write it’s deeply meditative and almost trancelike. For me, it seems more unconscious than conscious. I imagine artists might have a similar experience. A good phrase for it is “the zone” 🙂
It is both conscious and unconscious. The drawing itself is conscious, it is on the page in front of you in the external world. This defines it as conscious. The inspiration, however, comes from the unconscious and is reflected in not only what you drew but how you drew it. While I believe what I wrote above is true I don’t think it the best way to understand the images one draws or writes about. I think a better way would be to think of the finished piece of art, be it in whatever medium, as a conscious representation of unconscious symbolism.
As an Artist "in the zone" is exactly how I've described the creating of my art. I let go, worries and demands vanish. Serenity ensues. I find my art is uninspired and lacking when I am completely conscious. When it is dreamlike It is meaningful and unique.
Does anyone know any good guided meditations to do active imagination? RUclips is full of GARBAGE fake stuff I've been practising a short while but the other night I finally started having some really vivid imagery, not what I would say made sense. I think I got kind of excited too when it started so I kinda made it stop happening. I saw a hand gripping a rope & it looked very real, very similar to how you can imagine things that look real when on strong doses of hallucinogenics
@@danhouston2715 another ive enjoyed is nidra yoga, sleep meditation but if you manage to not sleep you apparently can lucid dream, jason stephenson has a good 30 min guided one for 61 point nidra I once did another guided one which went for a few hours & i fell asleep but kept waking & resuming it, almost like i wasnt actually sleeping similar to how you might close your eyes watching a movie & open them after missing heaps. I had a moment in that though where someone abruptly moved to open my bedroom door before the guided voice spoke again to wake me, it was like my dream state knew they were about to talk or something lol I also tried the gateway project hemi sync guided meditation for a while, which apparently gives outer body experiences. One time & only one time, i started feeling a vibrating sensation & tbh i felt scared in that brief moment, not sure why but in not gonna lie. I never replicated it again, i recently started doing those meditations again. The hemi sync stuff was a cia funded project, but the guy who ran it also said its only around 15% of people who have an OBE Maybe you might get something out of those Btw i didn't just do the above a few times, i did them nightly for months on end & to this day i love the nidra stuff, if i ever struggle to sleep, i just start the nidra breathwork

@@danhouston2715 I only tried DMT once, I didn't have a proper smoking device for it so just mixed it in with some weed & I didn't break through sadly, i must have burned it But it felt very strong/overwhelming still, I just saw lots of colours and patterns for a short moment I've had mushrooms a lot though & 4g dried sent me through time back into memories of my childhood like I was watching from third party but at the same time not, it's impossible to explain The hemisync stuff is real deal even though I haven't had anything beyond the vibrating sensation. I think it costs money for the audio tapes for the hemisync stuff but you can most likely find it on sites to download free as well This is the link to the first tape: ruclips.net/video/uqlaRHyZJqU/видео.html there are a few tapes that you're meant to go through in order, but some people say that they find some help more than others so they stick to those I personally just cycle through them when I try I wrote my last messages on my phone, otherwise I would have given a bit more info & more links with everything The wim hof stuff is pretty cool too if you've never tried it, only takes 10 minutes or so to complete. Some people say you can have DMT trips with that naturally, I personally never have. First time I ever tried it though felt really cool to me, after exerting my final breath & waiting, it was like I felt the moment my body wanted to take another breath as it normally would & the moment it tapped into the oxygenated parts of my body instead & just going as long as I did without having to take a breath felt like I had unlocked a special power lol Some occasions doing wim hof I would be going 3 minutes or close to 3 minutes, but it honestly felt like aaaaages. I'd recommend doing wim hof laying down though. When I first started wim hof, I would describe the feeling when you gently press oxygen to your head after the waiting on breath as feeling like you're taking off on a rocket ship, almost like you feel geforce against you for a few seconds. It might make more sense if you give it a go. I think too with Wim Hof after a while the way I would inahle definitely changed it as well. For me I found inhaling fully & not pushing air out to exert my breath, but just the natural decompression of my lungs letting out air was what worked best for me. Just keep repeating that for 30-40 breaths & on the last breath fully exert everything out & then just relax until the natural urge to inhale comes back. When that urge arrives, take in a huge breath, then gently press the air to your brain.
