Today, I attended your free training. The content was really great. However, the way you were narrating the content, it felt as if it had a monotone in it. It feels as if you are a very logical person who is giving reasons to teach your point of view. However, people want to feel emotions when they watch a video. They want the emotional spikes - like a funny story, a painful fact that creates sorrow, and the ups and downs of life. Study inflection and deflection which is taught in sales, you will understand what I am trying to say. The reason I am saying that is, in marketing, it is taught that people buy because of emotions they feel and then justify their decision with logic. If you are not able to build emotional certainty in people, and you show them your webinar where they feel you are detached, robotic and cold, they will not buy from you. Lastly, see the youtube channel of the following RUclipsrs- Owen Cook and Teal Swan. These two people are also very logical and have a high IQ, but they teach in an emotionally appealing manner. Also, be excited about your life. You have a strong discerning mind, but you don't have the sweetness of emotion. I had a similar problem 2 years back. I could not understand that the biggest power human beings have is the power to connect their hearts with others, the power to love. Thanks.
Makes sense. I judge people who are always asking for help. But thats only because i had no one to ask for help as a kid so i had to figure things out. I realize that im envious how they have no"shame". Shame seems to be the root issue

I was deeply stressed out by an exam I have in a day but I'm now reconnecting with myself realising how insignificant an exam really is in my journey and I'm learning to deal with that stress. I've told myself just passing it would be enough for me so that I can get in touch with more important things in my life. Society has deeply screwed up our priorities.

I am going to use this in an active imagination session and see if I can gain some clarity. As well, I love your suggestion of creating that session alone with the representation of someone whom you judge as I'm starting to understand the concept: that which I judge is a facet of my character that I am subconsciously rejecting. I strive to become whole and in tune with myself and perhaps enlightened! So much of your video content resonates with me and I thoroughly enjoy your channel!
Yes indeed, if you feel animosity towards someone you should always check if there is a shadow aspect of yourself operating. These things are an opportunity to learn about yourself. But there could be other things happening as well. As an excessively empathic person I would feel other people’s feelings and it was very confusing, especially if they were projecting their shadow onto me. It took me a long time to sort it out and I still don’t handle it very well, only by retreating as I don’t always feel safe. People who are not wired too be that empathic don’t believe how confusing it can be, but its true. And then there is introjection of someone else’s shadow if you are in an abusive situation. All in all, it is extremely worthwhile to sort out what is your shadow and is it even your own shadow or what has been put on you. So bravo Emerald!

Basically, putting yourself in someone else’s shoes is how it’ll make us less judgmental and more understanding of other people actions. But, in my opinion, loving ourselves doesn’t necessarily let us do that. Other than that, everything you said was straight and to the point. 🖤
It can be dangerous not open yourself up to your deeper nature , if you start becoming ill time to go deep on yourself . I think i learned this the hard way years ago , it always great to hear your knowledge Emerald .

What I dont get, how it is related with self-judgement, like that kind of judgement which excludes other people (like I judge myself for being fearful, but at the same time it appears more like compassion, if I see fear in others..).
Thanks fo this! Reminds me of something I did for a little while about 25 years ago. There was a person I interacted with on a daily basis who seemed to have a problem with me and I sensed it might go sideways if not dealt with. So I don't know what got me to do what I did next but it was similar to what you've described in this video. I imagined interacting with him and I let myself react totally freely towards him. It resulted in learning more about myself as well as more about his unconscious and conscious motives. Then, I was surprised to see that he , in real life, seemed to be at peace with me. And that was the end of it.
It's interesting how we naturally gravitate toward these integration processes. I've been doing this process ever since I was a little kid. I only recently found out what Active Imagination is though. So, it's like an intuitive pull toward individuation.
It's amazing as humans what a powerful and effective imagination we have! That we can imagine ourselves into mental and emotional balance! Thanks for sharing this technique!

It’s truly amazing how you’ve combined logic with intuition and have come to such a realisation at such a young age. Will you ever be willing to telling your story of enlightenment?
The Diamond Net intresting. I got an enlightening experience. It was in peace, but my ego habits came back slowly. I got depressed but saved myself just as it crept up with my own ego. Individuality and using ones own mind is vital. It’s about reshaping ego into active positive mentality of motivation, cos if we just week enlightenment, all motivation dies, and it’s just not gonna be helpful if we are to live in a society. Osho is a perfect example of an enlightened man egos ego was still in passive state. Sadhguru is the opposite. A positive active ego is more important than enlightenment to me. One must love the ego with the true self. Meditation is just for recharging. The desire for enlightenment is truly dangerous, and the the experience is wonderful, it’s not the end goal, cos we live in society. Jordan Peterson is an example also of an active ego. If he realised his true self, but not seeking it as end goal, he would defeat his depression.
The Diamond Net there’s one more level left befor complete enlightenment, it’s the inner child. The primordial instinct for attachment form the fear of the unknown and death. One it realises all is one, there is no need to hold on cos there’s nothing fundamentally to let go. There’s nothing to fear, the mentality in the first place is what created the illusion of psychological suffering.
It's possible that I've misunderstood this and I am open to being cured of my ignorance. But I can't help feeling that this is a uniquely female perspective on "judgement" as a concept with the view that we too often judge ourselves harshly and that we should be kinder to ourselves. To continue the example of parenthood: I might create an egoistic construction of myself as a father that's based on kindness and gentleness. But when I did the uncomfortable shadow work, I realized that, despite my warm and fuzzy thoughts about myself, I was on many occasions (as a result of conditioning from my own upbringing, dynamics within my marriage, or stressors from my professional life) anything but kind and gentle and instead, needlessly harsh and coarse. I confronted this aspect of my true self and judged myself very harshly. It was only then that I could move past the delusion of the ego, see myself as I truly am, and work towards being a better and more authentic version of the parent I wanted to be. Judgement and discrimination were in some sense a necessary part of that journey since judgement is the weighing of a situation and discrimination is the separation of one thing from another. My shadow was too well hidden by my ego that I had to draw it out into the light, hold it in front of me and decide, "this is a part of me. But it does not define me."
@theDiamondnet didn't Jung say that using active imagination in relation to a person in your life isn't advised? Im not sure where I read or heard it but I was wondering about your thoughts on that? Thanks.
Well, it comes to a difficult situation when you put yourself far off your narcistic parents and family. But it's possible really forgive them - even when you were crippled by trauma and unable to live functionally for years. It doesn't mean you have to deal with them again, but you don't carry this package around with yourself and you're free of it. There is a part in the unconscious, which as well want to control people and be the punisher and emperor, a demon - whatsoever. If you have some conversations with this thing, you realize, that it has your face and then you explain it, that it gets power and can be an emperor in the inner world a bit, but just when it sticks to my values and not on costs of myself or other human beings. Because this part really wants to get that, it will give you the energy it was holding back and put it into your goals and values. But there are many of these creatures, many are good, but some are just bad at the beginning, they try to scare you while you're in this conversation state and create horrible scary pictures. It's important to have a self with good boundaries already when you do it, otherwise these parts can take over and overwhelm your system.
I have so many elements, archetypes within me, that fight with each other, contradict each other or work together. It's really fun lol. You explain this very well. I made my schizophrenia conscious. I have like 70 elements, archetypes and they become more and more. Do you have a similar experience of collecting such elements, archetypes?
I wonder if Maladaptive Dreaming would be considered Active Imagination. I tried to find some articles related to my question but unfortunately I didn't. By Maldaptive Daydreaming I mean when I am bored or alone I would make sceneries depending on the mood or about certain moments in day to day life or some moments from a tv series or movie. Sometimes I would be the MC other times I would be just a NPC.
From personal experience I can say that many though certainly not all of the emotionally sensitive people are so( or perceived to be so, for the ones who are not could become so labeled, if they are continuously put in the same situation forcibly as the former find themselves in naturally and which I describe here, eventually) because they don't have a sense of humor, a smart alec argument here, a one liner there, an ability to belittle an adversary with a sarcastic remark, etc., (I'm in a mental fog right now, I hope i have put across my point in as much as you could finish of the list with a few more). Humans have advanced by Jungian transformation of primitive violent combativeness to a pugnacious 'civilised/cultured ' language or rather the luxurious use of language skills- more than the intended purpose of language skills which were merely to facilitate accurate communication. Thus, if lacking the above , i.e , the 'superfluous ' uses of language, the man(to not complicate evolutionary development of the 'She') he will take the 180 degree turn to emotionality! Just watch closely any debate/ interview , how many times experts/ masters/ gurus including scientists (custodians of the scientific method) would retreat to these language skills of sense of humor, for one, there are other 'arts' of language too, albeit , sometimes sneakily. And those who colorlessly accept their folly/ wrong argument, etc, end up high and dry , which repeated over and over again leads to loss of many of the essential ego 'props' required to survive the Battlefield Society. This argument could be tested on the future highly advanced A.I. (which may or may not lack those skills).And, could be used to analyze the prevalence of and/or resorting to fanaticsm, systematic violence,aka,.. ,etc. From, the last point and the crux of this video, a question begs to surface from the deepest crevices of humanity at large and from my own, our deep rooted hatred and loathing of one particular religion, what does it imply?
Hello, I really found this talk to be instrumental in facing myself in my judgment and criticism of others. I did the imagination exercises on a few people that I have perceived conflict with and it was really helpful to visualize them face to face and just let the know how I felt about it, and ask them what it is that they have to show me, what's important to them, what do they want from me, etc. I really got into the flow with the practice. I really was looking for the reflective conscious (sub-conscious) patterns that I project on others which is really just fragmented and unconscious patterns within me. I find that this is as beneficial as my years of vipasanna and other forms of Buddhist meditation. Do you have any other suggestions on Shadow work? Such as should we deal with one aspect at a time, sorta like a Pez dispenser; for example, criticism/gossip. Or should we not try to boil the ocean by trying to work on everything at once, ie.. validation requirements, judgmental, gossip, low self esteem, etc...etc.. all at the same time? Thanks for taking the time to make these videos to be of service to the community at large. ~A
You're welcome. :) I'm glad this process was helpful for you. I'd recommend looking for your internal judgments toward others that come up as a knee-jerk reaction... especially one's you would typically not be aware of.
If you do a shadow work you will realise that you have that kind of dark side too And about your question it could be that you remind of them their suppressed shadow self that could be reason why they treat you poorly And others reasons could be too. For example you might intentionally or unintentionally hurt them in the past and they just couldn't let go of it You should try to analyse situation and a person from every angle possible

Seems like the thing is, if you're doing this when thinking of another person, they have widely varied experiences that you might not be able to imagine, let alone understand.
How would you distinguish between archetypes and and the shadow? The way I see it, archetypes manifest dependent on circumstantial potential, and of necessity regulate conscious as well as unconscious behavior. The ideas of the syzygy and shadow, come to mind as mediums of communication between the conscious and the unconscious. What though, is the nature of the unconscious potential, or self, for though it is said to be autonomous, it does not seem to contain the subjective quality and most unfortunately it does not seem-although I may be wrong-to know what to do.

Happens all the time - when you make rude remarks without realizing it, simply because you're too caught up in your own ego/identity. Example: My mom often make denegrading remarks about people who are obese. She struggled with weight when she was young, but now keeps herself on scary 50 kg. She doesn't realise that she is making rude remarks, and if I point it out to her, she will defend herself with science about how obesity is unhealthy for mind and body. She is right, but the problem is her rudeness, not the facticity. She is unwilling to accept that she too has unhealthy habits she can't control and thus this hard judgement on herself is projected outwards into the world - because there will ALWAYS be symmetry between the inner and the outer world. She is unwilling to recognize her behaviour because it would require altering her self-image, and thus it's an attack on her ego. I have the same thing with loud people, because I don't allow myself to speak up and use my voice - I'm working on that. I used to get really pissed whenever someone drove a loud motorcycle through the streets, like 'Fuck that guy, who does he think he is? He just wants attention - pathetic!', really just judging myself into never being the life of the party. TL;DR: Yes, both in thoughts but also in behaviour.

Your explanations of Jungian concepts are probably the most articulate I've heard or read. Where did you train?

It's interesting how we naturally gravitate toward these integration processes. I've been doing this process ever since I was a little kid. I only recently found out what Active Imagination is though. So, it's like an intuitive pull toward individuation.

Thank you! But I am not presently enlightened. I've had a couple of glimpses, but I definitely live my life from ego still.
The Diamond Net intresting. I got an enlightening experience. It was in peace, but my ego habits came back slowly. I got depressed but saved myself just as it crept up with my own ego. Individuality and using ones own mind is vital. It’s about reshaping ego into active positive mentality of motivation, cos if we just week enlightenment, all motivation dies, and it’s just not gonna be helpful if we are to live in a society. Osho is a perfect example of an enlightened man egos ego was still in passive state. Sadhguru is the opposite. A positive active ego is more important than enlightenment to me. One must love the ego with the true self. Meditation is just for recharging. The desire for enlightenment is truly dangerous, and the the experience is wonderful, it’s not the end goal, cos we live in society. Jordan Peterson is an example also of an active ego. If he realised his true self, but not seeking it as end goal, he would defeat his depression.
The Diamond Net there’s one more level left befor complete enlightenment, it’s the inner child. The primordial instinct for attachment form the fear of the unknown and death. One it realises all is one, there is no need to hold on cos there’s nothing fundamentally to let go. There’s nothing to fear, the mentality in the first place is what created the illusion of psychological suffering.
It's possible that I've misunderstood this and I am open to being cured of my ignorance. But I can't help feeling that this is a uniquely female perspective on "judgement" as a concept with the view that we too often judge ourselves harshly and that we should be kinder to ourselves.
To continue the example of parenthood: I might create an egoistic construction of myself as a father that's based on kindness and gentleness. But when I did the uncomfortable shadow work, I realized that, despite my warm and fuzzy thoughts about myself, I was on many occasions (as a result of conditioning from my own upbringing, dynamics within my marriage, or stressors from my professional life) anything but kind and gentle and instead, needlessly harsh and coarse.
I confronted this aspect of my true self and judged myself very harshly. It was only then that I could move past the delusion of the ego, see myself as I truly am, and work towards being a better and more authentic version of the parent I wanted to be.
Judgement and discrimination were in some sense a necessary part of that journey since judgement is the weighing of a situation and discrimination is the separation of one thing from another. My shadow was too well hidden by my ego that I had to draw it out into the light, hold it in front of me and decide, "this is a part of me. But it does not define me."

Well, it comes to a difficult situation when you put yourself far off your narcistic parents and family.
But it's possible really forgive them - even when you were crippled by trauma and unable to live functionally for years. It doesn't mean you have to deal with them again, but you don't carry this package around with yourself and you're free of it.
There is a part in the unconscious, which as well want to control people and be the punisher and emperor, a demon - whatsoever. If you have some conversations with this thing, you realize, that it has your face and then you explain it, that it gets power and can be an emperor in the inner world a bit, but just when it sticks to my values and not on costs of myself or other human beings. Because this part really wants to get that, it will give you the energy it was holding back and put it into your goals and values.
But there are many of these creatures, many are good, but some are just bad at the beginning, they try to scare you while you're in this conversation state and create horrible scary pictures. It's important to have a self with good boundaries already when you do it, otherwise these parts can take over and overwhelm your system.
I have so many elements, archetypes within me, that fight with each other, contradict each other or work together. It's really fun lol. You explain this very well. I made my schizophrenia conscious. I have like 70 elements, archetypes and they become more and more. Do you have a similar experience of collecting such elements, archetypes?

I wonder if Maladaptive Dreaming would be considered Active Imagination. I tried to find some articles related to my question but unfortunately I didn't. By Maldaptive Daydreaming I mean when I am bored or alone I would make sceneries depending on the mood or about certain moments in day to day life or some moments from a tv series or movie. Sometimes I would be the MC other times I would be just a NPC.
From personal experience I can say that many though certainly not all of the emotionally sensitive people are so( or perceived to be so, for the ones who are not could become so labeled, if they are continuously put in the same situation forcibly as the former find themselves in naturally and which I describe here, eventually) because they don't have a sense of humor, a smart alec argument here, a one liner there, an ability to belittle an adversary with a sarcastic remark, etc., (I'm in a mental fog right now, I hope i have put across my point in as much as you could finish of the list with a few more).
Humans have advanced by Jungian transformation of primitive violent combativeness to a pugnacious 'civilised/cultured ' language or rather the luxurious use of language skills- more than the intended purpose of language skills which were merely to facilitate accurate communication.
Thus, if lacking the above , i.e , the 'superfluous ' uses of language, the man(to not complicate evolutionary development of the 'She') he will take the 180 degree turn to emotionality! Just watch closely any debate/ interview , how many times experts/ masters/ gurus including scientists (custodians of the scientific method) would retreat to these language skills of sense of humor, for one, there are other 'arts' of language too, albeit , sometimes sneakily. And those who colorlessly accept their folly/ wrong argument, etc, end up high and dry , which repeated over and over again leads to loss of many of the essential ego 'props' required to survive the Battlefield Society.
This argument could be tested on the future highly advanced A.I. (which may or may not lack those skills).And, could be used to analyze the prevalence of and/or resorting to fanaticsm, systematic violence,aka,.. ,etc.
From, the last point and the crux of this video, a question begs to surface from the deepest crevices of humanity at large and from my own, our deep rooted hatred and loathing of one particular religion, what does it imply?

Hello, I really found this talk to be instrumental in facing myself in my judgment and criticism of others. I did the imagination exercises on a few people that I have perceived conflict with and it was really helpful to visualize them face to face and just let the know how I felt about it, and ask them what it is that they have to show me, what's important to them, what do they want from me, etc. I really got into the flow with the practice. I really was looking for the reflective conscious (sub-conscious) patterns that I project on others which is really just fragmented and unconscious patterns within me.
I find that this is as beneficial as my years of vipasanna and other forms of Buddhist meditation.
Do you have any other suggestions on Shadow work? Such as should we deal with one aspect at a time, sorta like a Pez dispenser; for example, criticism/gossip. Or should we not try to boil the ocean by trying to work on everything at once, ie.. validation requirements, judgmental, gossip, low self esteem, etc...etc.. all at the same time?

If you do a shadow work you will realise that you have that kind of dark side too
And about your question it could be that you remind of them their suppressed shadow self that could be reason why they treat you poorly
And others reasons could be too. For example you might intentionally or unintentionally hurt them in the past and they just couldn't let go of it
You should try to analyse situation and a person from every angle possible

How would you distinguish between archetypes and and the shadow?
The way I see it, archetypes manifest dependent on circumstantial potential, and of necessity regulate conscious as well as unconscious behavior. The ideas of the syzygy and shadow, come to mind as mediums of communication between the conscious and the unconscious.
What though, is the nature of the unconscious potential, or self, for though it is said to be autonomous, it does not seem to contain the subjective quality and most unfortunately it does not seem-although I may be wrong-to know what to do.

Happens all the time - when you make rude remarks without realizing it, simply because you're too caught up in your own ego/identity. Example: My mom often make denegrading remarks about people who are obese. She struggled with weight when she was young, but now keeps herself on scary 50 kg. She doesn't realise that she is making rude remarks, and if I point it out to her, she will defend herself with science about how obesity is unhealthy for mind and body. She is right, but the problem is her rudeness, not the facticity. She is unwilling to accept that she too has unhealthy habits she can't control and thus this hard judgement on herself is projected outwards into the world - because there will ALWAYS be symmetry between the inner and the outer world. She is unwilling to recognize her behaviour because it would require altering her self-image, and thus it's an attack on her ego. I have the same thing with loud people, because I don't allow myself to speak up and use my voice - I'm working on that. I used to get really pissed whenever someone drove a loud motorcycle through the streets, like 'Fuck that guy, who does he think he is? He just wants attention - pathetic!', really just judging myself into never being the life of the party.
TL;DR: Yes, both in thoughts but also in behaviour.
