You can definitely make one for $400 or less, though not with the equipment in this video. A decently strong, energy efficient pump for $80, pond liner and underlayment for $60-150 depending on how big you want your pond to be, pond foam for $12-14, though you might need a second can of foam depending on much you use, $20-30 worth of gravel and river pebbles from Home Depot or Lowe's, $22 for a tube for the pump, $25 for a spillway which is optional. $20-40 for one or a few aquatic plants to filter out algae. Large rocks: free if you look in the right places.
This is up with the very best instructions, not much on pump info. but the liner and rocks are suburb. All well explayned and should be a wonderful hobby. I am doing the same with two ponds 200l ea. and connection with a waterway not too long. Enjoy it am 80y old and on top of it.
I like all of Savio and find it well done and am in the middle of joining two small Ponds with Goldfish to keep me happy but do have a cat and dog well trained to keep an eye on it. It works well but You learn as You go and stop to think or dream. Water as background is good for me but so is my music at times.
Hi! Is this the 10x25' kit? I really love this! I want to purchase this asap and this one here is the absolute right size. So I would like to get the right kit.
All of this is so well explained and done and I am in the middle of it doing it just now. Sevio has helped me but I am too far away to get some of this stuff. I got most of it and just need more sun in Australia but it is on the way now!
That fence wasn't adequately protected from moisture. Besides that, what fun it will be if it ever needs repairs with the concrete blocks and whatnot right up against it! Major design flaw, I'd say. It should have been free and clear from the fence.
This is a waterfall or stream that does not have an open pond at the bottom. It is therefore free of a pond, hence the "Pond Free" name, also known as a "Pondless" system. Not necessarily meant for people trying to build a pond without spending any money.
I dream to have like this out my back yard I have a very big yard I have a 4 hectares of land I wanted to have like this in the future tnx for ur blogs I am impressed thou..
Just received my Savio Pond kit in the mail today. Please specify to me how many cinder blocks/boulders/river stone ect. I would need to make it exactly like this video.
Is this available overseas yet? Even light parts of it? It should be and Australia would like it that I would know and DYO is the way to go. Stay at home and enjoy making it fit together, I did and have had a very pleasant hobby and am 80y and still going!
Shoreasiamensis Shoreasiamensis materials will run you between $1250-$2000. a contractor usually charge around $3500-$5000 for a turn key project like this. the rock is the main deciding factor on the total cost. the larger it is the more rock you need. and it can get expensive
My Savio filterweir 16 is leaking right at the hose fitting. The clamp is as tight as it's gonna get; it's not leaking there. It's right behind that on a hex nut. How do I fix this? Do I need a pipe wrench to tighten the nut?
it's called get started digging the area out & once your done digging measure the area you have for the liner & go to your local hardware store Lowes or ? & get the stuff you want & need to finish it up the ideas are ENDLESS from start to finish.
Hi I really like to build a pond free waterfall to my wife who love the nature/ flowers/ animals etc. I'm only in planning phase. What about rain? I saw there is an exact level of water....but how it looks after several days massive raining? And in winter? All of the rock should be collect from the top of the basin and free up the pump? Another question...what if the waterfall is not in the corner of the garden? Rocks should be placed around the "hill" ? How to prevent the waterfall and the way of the water from the dirt where the plants/flowers planted and what is washed in to the system by the rain. First i thougt it shuold be raised from the ground level and with a hose to keep the right level of water and hide the basin with rocks (and of course the flow of the water would be controlled to the top of the basin)....is it a right way or am I an idiot? (yes 😊) I love this waterfall and thank you for this video ( ps. Sorry for my terrible english - magyarul könnyebben körbeírtam volna az elképzelésem --> I could describe you my plan much more better in hungarian)
So one would constantly have to fill up the reservoir to keep an adiquite amount at all times, in very hot climates that may be a daily task, could a water line be used as well as a float to always pump water so that you never need to manually fill it .up .?
Yes, there is a hole cutout in the waterfall well for mounting a mini float valve as an autofill. Savio makes a kit that includes the float valve, water line, and tap for a water spigot. If the waterfall is built so that water stays contained within the system there should be very little water loss however. Just what is lost to evaporation.
You didn't pay attention to the instructions, they didn't do it on the demonstration but the man specifically said to use plastic liner between the fence and the water feature.
Savio currently makes PondFree packages that are for an 8', 13', or 18' length water course. Their PondFree Packages include everything you need except the electrical outlet, the backing that they show in the video (which you usually don't need) and the stones. If you need longer than those lengths it is possible to use a larger liner, but you may need to adjust the sizes and quantities of some of the other components as well. You can call Mud Monsters Pond Supply at (505)217-2856 or email us at info@mudmonsterstore.com for information and a quote.
You might look at another video we posted that is also by Savio Engineering called " Savio - How to Build a LivingPond." It's the same idea with a pond.
Watch this video several times and I'm still amazed. Hope one day I can afford to have a pond like this in my backyard.

I've been watching videos for 2 days. This is the most informative I've seen yet. Thanks!!!!

Excellent video. Straight forward and to the point.

okay, it has no fucking point of leveling the gras :D wtf
Only professionals do that grass leveling

this video stopped me losing my hair and committing murder. thank you for the rock placement info.
ahhhhh a lot of hard work, but at last it paid off, it was looking soooo relaxing at the end, wanna sit there n enjoy my coffee

Did you order the sun last week?
Sometimes you may get some delays as the delivery service down under ain't so good. 😂🤣😅😆

Very nice demostration , Thank you .
Beautiful! It's exactly the style I had envisioned for my yard! Good Job! And Thanks!
i like this with a fishpond at the end ☺
This video is so fun to watch !
Thank you
plastic should have been used against that fence to keep it from rotting out.
Andrew Keener water isn’t touching the fence. How would it rot out?
@@migueljimenez5165 Soil collects moist >>> wood fence will eventually rot!
Unless you do a sealer constantly every few years.

It looks nice while the rocks that are not directly in contact with water have been recently wet for the shooting. Once they dry is another story.
The best water pump I've ever seen

at 10:33 you say to use Black Expanding Foam where do you buy this from as i cant find it on EBAY or anywhere in Australia please help
Just wish they had told the measurements on this and the size kit they used!
this is the best video i have watched. thank you for this
Podrian ponerlo con subtitulos en español. Esta muy bueno el video, pero no entendi nada. Saludos.
Thanks for another great video! One small question: How big (L/Hr) is the pump in this project?
Is this available overseas yet? Even light parts of it? It should be and Australia would like it that I would know and DYO is the way to go. Stay at home and enjoy making it fit together, I did and have had a very pleasant hobby and am 80y and still going!
damn, that's a cool design
This waterfall is the one I would like to have.. Generally, how much does it cost for this...?
You can not buy it. Go to it and enjoy it Yourself it is not too hard if You can spare the time. Go easy on it!

I'm sad now. Who else is broke?

I don't see any power supply connected to the pump.
It's free. Magical
Or self perpetual energy. It never needs water to be topped off either because it uses water from the air
Man that's a lot of work!! What's the price of it being installed as shown in the video??
Not well planned.
1- The wood will rot because of no barrier
2- When replacing fence, this section will be a major pain in the rear to replace
You didn't pay attention to the instructions, they didn't do it on the demonstration but the man specifically said to use plastic liner between the fence and the water feature.
how do you power the pump?
Usually electricity does wonders but I don't know, maybe you had other plans..... 😂🤣😅
Awesome to have a big yard. I have 1m from house to boundary wall back and 1 side ONLY
Can the water course be longer?

Way to much money that I don't have I need to find a cheaper way those rocks and large stones are veryyyyyy expensive
