Nice reaction, thanks! "Megitsune" was released on June 19th 2013 and this music video was posted on June 4th 2013. So, Su-metal was 15 while Yui and Moa were both 13 about to turn 14. Yes, that corridor was slippery and Moa actually slipped and it's on the video. 😁 They did a commentary video years later on this MV where they provide a ton of insight. They even apologized for tearing the costumes by dancing too intensely. 🤘🦊
I saw them live, opening night of their 2018 World Tour in Kansas City, USA... their music is so powerful live. The bass from the speed of the drums made it feel like all of my internal organs were vibrating.
_Sore!_ 🦊🤘🔥 You already know everything about this song, try to enjoy more live version from older/classic and newer songs. Remember to visit "NLMetal", "The Foxhole" and "For The Fox God" channel to get a lot of those clips from latest concerts at PIA Arena MM 2023 in April. Btw Metalverse recently announced more shows for next month so i suggest you to watch a couple of songs when they show up along with BabyMetal starting with: - Doki Doki Morning live at Makuhari Messe 2023 - Karate live at PIA Arena MM 2023. Kitsune up and see you next time 🦊🤘❤️

Can’t wait for this one. Babymetal in general are amazing but this song specifically is why I got hooked on them so much and listened to all their albums
Great stuff - as RoadRunner already said, this video was from 2013, 3 years before 'Karate' was released. 'Megitsune' was their first song after separating from Sakura Gakuin. You didn't mention Su's microphone and the tanto (short blade) she pulled out of it - just checking you'd noticed since this was the first time you spotted Yui and Moa poking their heads in to look at Su. Much of the video was shot on location at the Asagaya Shinmei Shrine in Tokyo. This has become a place of pilgrimage for BABYMETAL fans visiting Tokyo. It is an official video, you will only ever see the Kami Band in videos filmed at live shows. The guys at the back waving the traditional instruments about in this one were dancers with the lady who did the fan dance's troupe (and now I see Rick Wagner told you her name already). Have you ever seen the commentary videos the girls made a year or two after this where they talked through their recollections from when they were making the videos in the first place? If not hunt them down and do reactions to all 5 ('Doki Doki Morning', 'Iine', 'IDZ, 'Headbanger' and 'Megitsune').
There was a house I used to live close to that had been named by its owner, and in that name was "Moa". I still can't believe I managed to resist sneaking out at night to add the word "Metal" to that sign 😂
Megitsune is their most performed live song at 334 live performances to date. They play it at almost every live performance they do. It's pretty much the quintessential Babymetal song, blending the kawaii and the metal seamlessly. The guys in the video aren't the Kami Band or Babybones, they are part of a traditional Japanese dance troupe that I forget the name of. The woman in the fox mask who dances in the breakdown is the choreographer of the group. Su is eighteen months older than Yui and Moa. This was probably filmed early in 2013 (released in June 2013), so Su was 15 and Yui and Moa were 13.
Idk if you guys reacted to "Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live" yet, you'd be surprised how many Babymetal fans haven't seen this particular live show since it's not on their official RUclips page, but it's a banga!
⚡ 💀 💕 / 🦊 ⛩ [MOA] SU-METAL will slash you. Really. [YUI] Yeah. [SU] (laughs) (Megitsune video commentary from the BABYMETAL members) Even though they were wearing white robes, this was not the Kami Band that BABYMETAL have at live concerts. The performers pretending to play the traditional Japanese instruments in this video are dancers with the Movement Design group. Chidori Yakumo is their director. She is the woman performing the fan dance during the breakdown. Megitsune is my jam. It's still my favorite BABYMETAL song, video and choreography. Definitely quintessential BABYMETAL and one of their most Japanese songs. BABYMETAL's producer Koba sent this song back to the song arranger Yuyoyuppe dozens of times before he was satisfied with it. This one often tops fan polls, and has been performed live more than any other BABYMETAL song. Much of the video was shot on location on a Noh drama stage by the Asagaya Shinmei Shrine in Tokyo. This has since become something of a pilgrimmage site for BABYMETAL fans. I'm hoping to visit it early next March. : )
You’ll get the usual guys along in a minute to give you the minutiae of their history. Just to say keep up the reactions to BABYMETAL, they are a very special band.
Your daughter is going to love this one: "BABYMETAL | Kimi to Anime ga Mitai | LIVE at Budokan Black Night (4K)" the most kawaii thing BabyMetal ever did. Check it out
Any excuse to listen to this one! I'm down! Was looking at the DashyXD&Dad catalogue and was surprised I couldn't find Nemophila covering this one. I mean, it's Nemophila covering Babymetal, I don't have to convince you of anything at that point! haha EDIT: Also, have you seen the now quite old video of Su, Yui, and Moa reacting to this video and giving commentary?! Beware intoxicating levels of cuteness!
👍👍👍An amazing MV. There are many layers to this MV. I like it because it gives more insight into their message. I also learn so much from the comments from the fan base: for instance, one pointed out how at the beginning YUI and MOA pull on SU’s Japanese costume and the next scene she is transformed into SU-METAL. 🦊 🖖❤
I've come across your reactions a few times and thought aww! What a lovely relationship she has with her dad. Not everyone does (or did. Mine's dead now), but I don't want to sound all miserable because it's nice to see. That did sound miserable didn't it? Sorry.
I recommend the recent live performance of this as well, from their PIA Arena 2023 Black Night concert. I also recommend Time Wave, from the same concert. (link to playlist in the reply to this). Edit: I also noticed you haven't done reactions to live performances of Monochrome, Mirror Mirror, and Light and Darkness either. You should check those out as well.
Nice reaction, thanks!
