30:28 The Rescue Ranger's main purpose is protecting your sentry gun, with the healing bolts letting you heal it from a distance, along with the ability to grab your sentry from a distance at the cost of 100 metal. The gunslinger's mini sentry is meant to be highly disposable, meaning you have to worry a lot less about protecting it since you can just rebuild it once it's destroyed. Running them together means your trying to protect something that isn't meant to be protected. It just leaves you weaker than before.
Well said. Personally I've used the combo once or twice as a weird "troll the gunslinger engie" on koth maps. Good fun, guaranteed hate messages on my steam profile every time. Edit: I'll elaborate the troll strat Step 1: use the rescue ranger to snipe enemy mini sentries Step 2: spam mini sentries back Step 3: watch mini spammer go DH soldier Step 3: go back to my regularly scheduled class and... we all go back to having fun. Doesn't work all the time, but it's a nice feeling when it does.
On the other hand, if the mini-sentry is paired with The Wrangler, it can become a highly armored (lvl 3 sentry health), Sniper-machine gun. All in a click of a button.
34:21 “Ninjaneering” is a term uncle dane uses to describe using the engineer as a flank class to troll the enemy team. This is especially effective when you use the Eureka Effect as it allows you to teleport either to your spawn or to your teleporter exit, even if it is off. A disabled teleporter is hard to notice, and as such makes it a great tool for sneaking behind the enemy team
with a ninjaneer, a teleporter is never disabled. the disabled ones, are the enemy players, when they miss that teleporter *FOR TWENTY MINUTES STRAIGHT*

3:52 cool how you mention this. In the canceled game before TF2 called Team Fortress Brotherhood of Arms, there was going to be a ‘Commander’ class. On the wiki it says “He would be able to see through team members' eyes and Engineers' cameras, as well as see entire map, issue orders on the fly and control squads and groups.”
@@zaaz3930 Not only would that be annoying, but they found it difficult to make both the commander and the soldiers equally as fun to play. Playing the commander sounded pretty boring imo.
@@zaaz3930 It was sort of like that. They couldn't figure out how to balance the game around a good team having a terrible commander, and vice-versa. They also realised that they had made the game needlessly complex to justify having a commander in the first place.
"Ninjaneering" is a name for being a sneaky engineer and hiding a teleporter somewhere behind enemy lines to teleport yourself or even your entire team behind the enemy. It's not very practical due to how difficult slipping past the entire enemy team can be but when it works it's hilarious. You'll also often see people do this with a teleporter near the enemy team's spawn and then teleport in a level 3 sentry to spawncamp.
This is a list of situations i noticed that MHGR just didnt understand what was going on to the fullest, as I can see 9:53 - this area is a flank route, and if the (BLU) scout were able to take control of the area, the defending team (RED) would have a more difficult time defending the objective (the payload cart) 30:30 - The Rescue Ranger is a common primary weapon used with engineers that will build leveled sentries, and generally play in a sentry nest, as the rescue ranger is a primary that shoots bolts that will heal your gun from any range, and is much less effective when using mini sentries, as they will go down quickly, and the Rescue Ranger has very little damage compared to shotguns 34:20 - Ninjaneering is a rare tactic used by engineers using the Eureka Effect, a wrench that allows the engineer to teleport to spawn or his teleporter exit at will, including if the exit is deactivated, allowing you to hide the teleporter before the round starts, and if you get lucky, the enemy team wont notice, and you can teleport right behind their backs, and get a key pick (pick is another term for kill)
Pretty well. Area control and positioning is flat out the most important skill in any of the game's missions, and using real world tactics will serve you extremely well in that regard
@@animeguy1633 sure but thats very situational since it requires a the eyelander and splendid screen as well as enough distance and that you dont die while charging AND that the heavys not overhealed.
Something that absolutely should be considered is how certain weapons pair with one another. Dane discusses it in his three stock weapon videos, which I’d suggest reacting to for more Engineer info, but some weapons work much differently than others. In particular: Widowmaker and Pistol: the former expends metal, so the Pistol is used as a back up in case you run out of metal. Short Circuit: not recommended to pair with Widowmaker, since both expend metal, and no metal basically means death. Panic Attack: more consistent shots than stock Shotgun, so more common in most situations, aside from ones using the other shotguns (see “Stock Engineer: THE SHOTGUN”, or “The Panic Attack is Good, Actually”). Wrangler: manual control of sentry, and large boost to attack speed and defense, in exchange for repair rate and cool down once disengaged; Rescue Ranger: long distance repair of sentry health and grabbing buildings, in exchange for damage against players, metal when hauling buildings, and the Marked for Death effect (increased damage while affected, or mini crits) Frontier Justice and Pistol: Crits are very obvious, so holding the Pistol until an enemy gets close can prove fatal for that enemy, while pumping one-to-two crit-boosted shots. The Pistol's high rate of fire and large ammo source also pairs well with the lower clip size of the Frontier Justice.
A game you could play is maybe one of the XCOM games. XCOM: Enemy Unknown/Within, XCOM 2 (War of the Chosen recommended), and/or XCOM: Chimera Squad. Why I suggest this is simply because it is a tactics game that I would like to see a military man play it to see how different his tactics and mindset might be from a regular player.
32:22 Ninjaneers use a wrench called "The Eureka Effect". Basically a wrench focused on teleporters. There's a specific ability where you can teleport to your exit teleporter or spawn. This even works when there's no entry teleporter and there's no animation. So you can hide your teleporter relatively easily. Being able to teleport to the enemy flank AND able to teleport back to spawn. It's kind of strong but still a meme
1:17 You have the Proof of Purchase hat? I think that's the only all-class military looking helmet in the game but I could be wrong. There's literally hundreds of cosmetics. 9:57 It's a flank route that provides access to some windows that enemies can use to fire from, whether it be at your team or at a potential sentry nest location. That room is located right at the last point in that particular map. So, it's an engineer who's covering the team's backs by operating in an area commonly used for flanking by some of the other classes. 21:15 Except in a good portion of FPS games. I've played very few that have a minimum arming distance with their explosive weapons like rocket and grenade launchers.
@@Techhunter_Talon When you're tired and it's getting close to midnight, yes. Your eyes kinda just glaze over the words, only picking up a few important words that only half-register in your brain.
@@Techhunter_Talon I love that we both mentioned that they're for a specific class and not for every class in the game/multiple classes You're right, there are no all class military hats other than the Proof of Purchase, but that doesn't mean that we can't list off the class specific ones
The reason why Uncle Dane is talking about TF2 as if everyone is as well versed as he is is because his tutorials are for experienced, competitive TF2 players. And as far as I know, ninjaneering is basically being stealthy as an engineer, such as using your Sentry gun to get to a high vabtage point, or using the Eureka Effect, a special Wrench, to instantly teleport to a hidden teleporter behind enemy lines.
21:00 yes and no. Though 40mm grenades do, more often than not, have a minimum arming distance, meaning that the won't *explode* if they hit you, they're still moving at ridiculous speeds. Speeds with which they can easily tear through a human torso. If I remember correctly, the channel Garand Thumb already made a video demonstrating the power of a "minimun arming distance" 40mm grenade against a dummy with ballistic jel.
Probably an odd suggestion, but **Deep Rock Galactic** might be really fun to try out (especially if you like flamethrowers, the Driller's flamethrower rules). It's another team based shooter game, but instead of having to fight a dozen very competent humans, you fight endless waves of AI aliens on a hostile planet. You're also mining for goodies, and that means that the terrain is 100% destructable. Your TF2 skills should translate DRG also has a crazy guy with a flamethrower, an engineer with a turret, a beefy guy with a minigun, and a speedy guy called "Scout"
I love your reaction videos. You always have something interesting and pieces of trivia to say, and no nonsense. Lots of reaction channels fail this and feel so lifeless. Keep up the great work.
For games to stream I *heavily* recommend Fallout New Vegas, it is an excellently written RPG & you'll get to do plenty of military talk no matter which faction you side with. Unlike Fallout 4 which needs a litteny of mods to run properly, all you need to get NV to run properly is a mod called NVAC (New Vegas Anti Crash).
aren't you forgetting the unofficial patch and NVTF? and a few more i can't remember. and even then on my last playthrough the game still had pretty ass performance.
I mostly play pyro and one of the best things against engie is to use their sentries against them. A level 3 sentry shoots rockets at you, and as a pyro you can reflect projectiles. You can use these rockets to reflect them back at the sentry, the engineer, or their teammates. Engies that are aware of this may keep their sentry at level 2 or use the wrangler to manually control when the rockets are used. Generally fighting a full engie nest is tough as pyro, but you do have methods to fight and even solo them. An uber wouldn't hurt though. Oh and keep in mind that alone the sentry rockets that you reflect back won't take down the sentry fully. It usually ends up being around half health. So either you damage the sentry first by yourself or help from teammates or you could reflect them back at the engie first so you can more slowly take down the sentry from behind cover as the engie won't be there to repair it.
Additional helping hand: use the airblast on a rocket and aim it at your feet. You can rocket jump in a direction to push for an attack or escape if the situation is getting too hot. You can use the detonator to a lesser degree, though 25 damage per detonator "jump" might not be worth it to get to cover quick or go for a health kit not too far away.
Reflected sentry rockets do 90 damage so you need 3 to kill the 240hp level 3. The engi restores the HP too quickly so you have to hit him with the rockets first. Unfortunately they usually don't one-shot him either, so it's a real nightmare.
@@mooncalf_4534 Plus the bullets will likely rip you to shreds before the airblasted rockets hit, so you're basically a reflect-and-flee until the Engineer charges you.
@@drunkdrag0n Yeah you can only really do it if there are no other enemies and a huge range so you can back in and out of sentry range over and over. Preferably also with a hp pack nearby. Even then I'd honestly usually rather just reflect jump over the sentry with the rockets than try to kill it. Can get behind their team from there and the sentry's probably not going to turn fast enough to shoot you.
The captions on this video are absolutely AMAZING. On another note, I'd love to see you play Titanfall 2's campaign, being one of the best campaigns I've ever played, and/or the Mass Effect series, particularly since the Lengendary Edition trilogy remaster came out fairly recently.
One relevant piece of information when you pick a sentry position. It's maximum target range. If the open area is too large, it will be shot down from outside it's target range. (Engi has a tool that lets him manually aim and target the sentry manually. So if you don't know what the engi is using, these sentries might not be harmless. I think this tool replaces their main weapon. I don't remember, but the important part is that it exist.)
7:24 you were not listening, the idea there is to use the sentry as a distraction to kill the scout, after that it doesnt matter if it protects anything, its just a temporary tool to survive that 1v1.10:03 that stairs are a dead end. 30:38 He is using the mini sentry, a version of thes entry that is weaker but cheaper, basically a replaceable version of it that allows you to be more combat oriented; but that engi is using it with a rescue ranger, a shotgun that sacrifices most of your damage output to keep your buildings alive. So they don't mix well.
10:00 well, there is some strategic points: the health and ammo packs that lays right after the stairway, so if the enemy want to get supplied they need to fight a sentry. And, if they just gave up on it, they will get less health and ammo, so allies get less damage, more brakes and have to deal less damage to destroy their enemies, so, yeah, that's the choke point
I love how during the scout segment you kept focusing on what felt like something completely different than what Dane was talking about and I am here for it!
Man I'm honestly surprised how many combat vets /don't/ play Planetside 2. Maybe its too hard? maybe its too real? I dunno. but its the ONLY game out there where you're really fighting a "war" and not a "match." 3 factions, 300 plays per faction per continent, NO lobbies, you log in, it plops you down on a continent, and your mission is to go forth and conquer. once the continent is conquered you get plopped down on another one with you 300 factionmates and 600 enemies (again, split between two opposing factions) and it just repeats. Fights are huge, long, youve go combined arms (a good selection of vehicles and aircraft with different roles to play.) Squads and Platoons to join or lead, Outfits(think guilds) for more consistent cohesion. A lot of people say the game is dead because its old but I'm here to tell you its still alive and very much kicking, don't believe what the haters say. Because I'm not biased I'll warn you about a couple things though: The new player experience is not stellar, even though theyve been working on it. You get no handicaps. There is no matchmaking (you will be fighting people who've been playing since release, almost ten years ago.) Your vehicles specifically will not be competitive until you can upgrade them; however the good news is the default guns are in most cases the best and all other guns are sidegrades for specialization. Zergfits (outfits that rely on numbers rather than strategy) are common but again, the good news is that theyre only really a problem on nights when they actually run ops. Vehicle muzzle velocity, specifically on tanks, has suffered for a long time since a huge nerf many years ago. As a new player you may not even notice or care. And finally, as a streamer, you will likely have a very hard time with streamsniping. BUT despite all this, if you're able to power through the "new player" phase, you will be rewarded with a game that to this day, ten years after release, still has not been matched in scale or freedom.
30:27 the reason dane calls this a weird strategy is because the rescue ranger is best for defensive playstyles while the mini sentry is best for offensive playstyles, causing them to conflict with eachother.
well also becuase mini sentries are disposable so why would you want to really save them that bad that you equip a weapon for that purpose, also that player is probably new
Another great Uncle Dane video to watch would be his video on the Wrangler. Not only is it super informative on its own, but it goes into a lot more detail on that whole idea of “wasting time”
A lot of these Sentry positioning analysis things you were doing at the start were technically pretty accurate, but it was kinda missing the point of what Uncle Dane was saying. The main thing is, you were assuming that the sentry was already armed and ready to shoot, when in fact it was just placed and still needed a few seconds to build. The main point Uncle Dane was making was that placing them forces the enemy to either shoot the sentry before it can arm itself and start shooting them, or shoot you but risk the sentry completing its construction and finishing them off.
23:00 one important thing to remember: there is almost never just one IED. there is almost always at least two. the way IEDs usually operate is that they blow up one just to disable the leading vehicle, the second one is detonated when the crew evacuates and/or tries to fix the damage done.
if you're playing pyro and you know there's a sentry just around the corner, the fire ball shooting dragon's fury lets you peek around the corner and shoot longer range projectiles instead of the usual weak, janky fire particles normal flamethrowers use. also, airblast can toss the sentry's rockets back at the engineer, the sentry itself, or the rest of the enemy team.
Ninjaneer is the practice of using a wrench called the Frontier Justice (which rapidly teleports you to your teleporter exit) and rapidly placing said exit in a location that the enemy team will pass soon - preferably in a concealing piece of terrain or a spot out of line of sight from essential terrain (the capture point or the payload track). This will allow you to teleport behind the enemy lines and shotgun down the vulnerable classes (medic and sniper mostly) before they realize you're there. It also has a delaying action effect, as once the enemy team catches on to the fact that you're being a ninjaneer, they will divert teammates to destroy your teleporter - which means they will be spending less time contesting the essential terrain.
Hey, MHGR, you talked about pyro, so I'm gonna give you a little advice that I learned about pyro that helps me get more kills without dying. DO. NOT. W+M1. INTO. THE. ENEMY. I cannot stress this enough, use your FLANKS. PLEASE. FLANK. If you can get to a place where enemy isn't expecting you, (or better yet, behind them), you can get to them and burn the shit out of their back. By the time they turn around, you're halfway into turning them into ash.
The reason Uncle Dane was all confused as to why someone was using the Rescue Ranger with Mini-Sentries (aka the melee-slot Gunslinger) is because the former is focused on keeping your sentry alive, whereas the latter is focused on using the sentry as a disposable support element for you and you alone. The Rescue Ranger is a defensively-focused shotgun (with approximately one offensive use, that being in combination with Sentry-Jumping to quickly bring your sentry to an elevated, forward position), whereas the Gunslinger is a full offensive melee weapon, being the core of the "Battle Engineer" subclass. Also, a comment on what the hell "ninjaneering" is: The melee-slot item "The Eureka Effect" has a special ability that, upon being charged and activated, teleports you either to spawn (if you're not in spawn) or to your teleporter exit (if you're in spawn), *regardless of whether or not said teleporter is functioning.* This lets you be much sneakier with your teleporter placement, at the cost of others being unable to use said teleporter. An inactive teleporter doesn't produce any effects, making it much easier to hide in foliage, but still allows you to silently teleport to it via the Eureka Effect. A well known example of ninjaneering is when Uncle Dane recorded himself sentry-jumping (ie bouncing off his sentry's rockets/bullets) above the enemy spawn, placing a teleporter, and abusing the Eureka Effect to silently teleport above the enemy spawn, send some shotgun blasts into the backs of the enemy team, die, and immediately jump back in the fray.
8:44 It's cool how the VS sign with the different colors matches up just where the the border of the camera and the image to use the whole screen end up
since you asked which games you should play next year, i think one game series you might enjoy is the Advance Wars series. its a tactical, turn based strategy game and since you're usually pretty keen on shining with irl military strats i feel like this would be the perfect game for you to apply them to. and the best part: the first two games of this series will be receiving a reboot in early 2022! maybe go and check them out when you got the time for it, i can only recommend them ^^
13:38 The Wrangler doesn't only manually control your sentry gun but also gives 3x shield with it and it can allow you to heal it before the shield is off after switching a weapon
Best thing to say is.. "Ninjaneering" is the flank tactic on crack... Big brained (sometimes), tf2 branded, crack. 1. Equip the Eureka Effect 2. Place a disabled tele exit in a very cheeky spot 3. teleport via taunt 4. get some sneaky picks.
Dude, it's so interesting to hear you break down the break-downs, it's like listening to someone ramble about something you also enjoy but you just _haven't_ told them about it yet
3:10 "If there are other games you think would be really cool, uh- let me know!" SWAT 4 KARDS - The WWII Card Game Hearts of Iron IV PAYDAY 2 (fun chaos like tf2 but coop) Space Engineers If you like resource management and build planning, Klei games like Don't Starve Together and Oxygen Not Included are pretty good choices
I'm seconding *Payday 2* and throwing in *Deep Rock Galactic* as a suggestion. They're both great coop shooters and they both have flamethrowers to mess around with (P2 has all the stuff from the BBQ Pack DLC, and DRG has the Driller class's default weapon)
I want you to play top-down squad-based tactics games, such as: - XCOM2: WOTC (most popular, but not the best imo) - Warhammer 40k: Mechanicus (Warhammer universe, indie title) - Gears of War: Tactics (Gears universe) - Phoenix Point (personal favorite) - Invisible Inc. (by Klei, indie title) - BattleTech (mechas) - Phantom Doctrine - Into the Breach (closer to chess, roguelike)
what's interesting is i remember overlooking the sheer importance of corners in firefights before i started watching more csgo related content. truth is, seeing how a counter strike round plays out isn't too far off from tf2, just a lot slower and methodical (of course). staying behind a wall or a corner really gives you time to calm down and think out your flank/push
MGHR, hopefully you see this and I wish for you to react to the Company of Heroes cutscenes, maybe the DLC or original game. I'm interested in what you'll think of them.
Verdun is a Game That deserves more love. It’s probably the best ww1 shooter out there and I have never played a game that made dying on a battlefield feel so easy. Pop out of the trench to early, bang dead, turn a corner, there’s a guy with a Lewis gun and your entire squad gets wiped out. Rifles, pistols, melee weapons, random grenades, machine guns, flamethrowers, artillery fire, poison gas, and some more. All of that kills you in one or two shots usually. It is so easy to die in this game. You can end up spending a lot of the game crawling through the mud going from cover to cover just to get to the enemy trench and then die immediately when you get there, if you don’t die earlier. Also, the way the Game is structured, you can spend the entire match fighting back and forth over a single trench with the match ending at a 0-0 draw. It’s probably as close to an “authentic” WW1 game as you can get. It’s a very ugly game, it’s not particularly fun, but it’s an experience unlike any other game I’ve ever played. I recommend it, if you don’t mind dying a lot to
I think Hunt:Showdown would be an interesting game to see you play. ESPECIALLY if you can bring aboard some friends of yours! Solo Hunt has it's advantages and disadvantages too, of course.
21:21 91 Fox here, I'm not entirely certain about RPGs, but I know MK19 Grenades have this Arming Distance, though can't remember the exact distance. They have a Pin inside that Loosens up to Arm the grenade, and it loosens as it spins, so the grenade is Armed and ready out the barrel... Which means if it gets stuck inside the Barrel and EOD is on break, you're gonna have an Anxious time being next to a Barrel with a Live Grenade stuck in it ready to explode at the smallest tap of that Trigger Tip
When you play a new game for the first time it’s really brutal because you’re up against players who know the terrain and are like experienced fighters. As examples when I played Insurgency for the first time I was constantly walking into concealed machine gun positions. The game has no kill cam so most of the time you don’t know where you got shot from and by what. Same with call of duty Warzone. The best I could do when I was new was listen for bullets, how long it would take to impact my position and guess where they could be coming from. Then I would pray I find them in likely areas where an ambush would be set up or that I could see their muzzle flash.

9:53 the key terrain here is the balcony behind from where BLU can rain down the defence with fire if they take control of it. The balcony itself doesn't give RED team advantage but on its own but provides BLU too much advantage to just leave it.
One thing to remember when facing Heavy, he shoots from his eyes, not the gun. So even if it might seem impossible for him to shoot over an object, if he can see over it he can shoot over it
If you see an enemy Engineer wrangling his sentry, _always shoot the Engineer!_ Then the wrangled sentry will go inactive for several seconds (even though it's still covered in its energy shield) until its A.I. comes back online, during which it's helpless.
Please, it's killing me. Stop clicking the progress bar. You can use your left and right arrow keys to rewind or fast-forward video 5 seconds at a time. You can also use your period and comma keys to move the video frame by frame. If it doesn't work, click the video player to pause and un-pause; then it'll work.
21:20 I may be wrong on this, but I believe that RPG-7 warheads do not have a minimum arming distance, too. That's why they come with safety caps on, as a strong enough impact to the tip can set one off.
Payday 2 would be a cool game you could try out! Rob banks with friends using a a variety of customization to choose from, like: weapons, characters, perks, deployables etc... Hope you can give it a try, and give the game a bit of life.
*Also, as useful as those tips are for fighting pyros, he glossed over good pyro players that remember things like the axe for CQC, the fact that they too can have shotguns and if they are running the Py-bro build, they can, if they know what they are doing, wreck your buildings pretty fast even up close in a pinch.
Whenever i hear you talk about the real stuff related warfare it always reminds me of the Planetside 2. The game is beyond difficulty to learn if you aleady struggling in tf2. But i think it can be worth to react to the game to see how realistic it is compared to real life.
For navigating RUclips, sometimes (it used to be more often) if you had a different part of your browser window selected, things like the arrow and space keys wouldn't work at controlling the video player. You can use the keys J, K, and L to rewind 10 secs, pause, and move forward 10 secs, respectively, no matter what is selected in your browser. So instead of trying to click and drag the little video location thing to a certain spot, you can just hit J to go back 10 seconds, or tap it twice to go back 20, etc. Most of the time the arrow keys and space bar work fine nowadays, especially when the video is full screen, but I still use JKL a lot of the time. You can actually change your settings in RUclips such that the arrow keys will track 5 seconds and J and L will track 10 seconds, so if you need to go back just a few words or something you hit left, and to go back further to the previous sentence or whatever you hit J. Hope that helps for doin' it live. Thanks for listening to my PSA
40:15 - I'd recommend doing that until you're able to pick out spy sounds among the chaos of high pop servers. If you can do that, any music that's not overly loud won't stop you hearing it. It'll start feeling like spiderman's spidey sense triggering.

Actually a very good analysis of using tactics in this game. Funny how even in simple silly little shooter games general military tactics still apply organically.

This is a list of situations i noticed that MHGR just didnt understand what was going on to the fullest, as I can see
9:53 - this area is a flank route, and if the (BLU) scout were able to take control of the area, the defending team (RED) would have a more difficult time defending the objective (the payload cart)
30:30 - The Rescue Ranger is a common primary weapon used with engineers that will build leveled sentries, and generally play in a sentry nest, as the rescue ranger is a primary that shoots bolts that will heal your gun from any range, and is much less effective when using mini sentries, as they will go down quickly, and the Rescue Ranger has very little damage compared to shotguns
34:20 - Ninjaneering is a rare tactic used by engineers using the Eureka Effect, a wrench that allows the engineer to teleport to spawn or his teleporter exit at will, including if the exit is deactivated, allowing you to hide the teleporter before the round starts, and if you get lucky, the enemy team wont notice, and you can teleport right behind their backs, and get a key pick (pick is another term for kill)
He was newer to the game after all.
I'd love to watch you play XCOM. Either 2 or Enemy Within/Unknown.
See how well military shit translates over to the classic tactical game.
Pretty well. Area control and positioning is flat out the most important skill in any of the game's missions, and using real world tactics will serve you extremely well in that regard
XCOM Enemy Within long war irnoman xD uffff
Oh hell yeah, XCOM is an absolute classic!
Xcom would be a blast
thats a great idea, especially in terms of the strategic role of the unit speciaties and abilities.
Demoknight is a sub-class of demoman, where you use boots a shield and a sword, also demoknight has the power to one shot a heavy
But demoknight can only deal 195 in one swing. (Yes caberknight is a thing but he’s a slightly different subclass)
@@sud1881 youre forgetting the shieldbash crit meele combo
@@animeguy1633 sure but thats very situational since it requires a the eyelander and splendid screen as well as enough distance and that you dont die while charging AND that the heavys not overhealed.

Something that absolutely should be considered is how certain weapons pair with one another. Dane discusses it in his three stock weapon videos, which I’d suggest reacting to for more Engineer info, but some weapons work much differently than others. In particular:
Widowmaker and Pistol: the former expends metal, so the Pistol is used as a back up in case you run out of metal.
Wrangler: manual control of sentry, and large boost to attack speed and defense, in exchange for repair rate and cool down once disengaged;
Rescue Ranger: long distance repair of sentry health and grabbing buildings, in exchange for damage against players, metal when hauling buildings, and the Marked for Death effect (increased damage while affected, or mini crits)
Frontier Justice and Pistol: Crits are very obvious, so holding the Pistol until an enemy gets close can prove fatal for that enemy, while pumping one-to-two crit-boosted shots.
Xcom War of the Chosen is fantastic. There are some really fun mods too.
It's kind of strong but still a meme
awesome pfp
Soldier (obviously) has some military helmet cosmetics.
Scout has the Fortunate Son and the Flak Jack
I love that people didn't pay attention to the words ALL CLASS. Some people are selectively illiterate.
@@Techhunter_Talon When you're tired and it's getting close to midnight, yes. Your eyes kinda just glaze over the words, only picking up a few important words that only half-register in your brain.
@@Techhunter_Talon I love that we both mentioned that they're for a specific class and not for every class in the game/multiple classes
You're right, there are no all class military hats other than the Proof of Purchase, but that doesn't mean that we can't list off the class specific ones
21:00
yes and no.
IT’S CALLED A SENTRY!! (smashes plate)
ROCK AND STONE FOREVER
If it's only PvE that makes it a co-op shooter
@@LARAUJO_0 It's pve. I think they meant to say "class based shooter" instead of "team based shooter"
It's similar-ish to left for dead
I love your reaction videos. You always have something interesting and pieces of trivia to say, and no nonsense. Lots of reaction channels fail this and feel so lifeless. Keep up the great work.
It’s really interesting how well he’s able to apply military tactics to TF2, everything he’s explaining really makes sense.
with the demoman, his standard grenade launcher doesn’t have an arming distance, he just takes splash from his own nades
Mine still crashes, and adds mouse acceleration if i alt+tab
aren't you forgetting the unofficial patch and NVTF? and a few more i can't remember. and even then on my last playthrough the game still had pretty ass performance.
I think Paul mentioned that he doesnt want to install X ammount of GB în mods

Can get behind their team from there and the sentry's probably not going to turn fast enough to shoot you.
as a person who plays more like an engineer, thanks for telling me in which situations should I use the wrangler
The comment section on this guys videos is always so wholesome, and im all for it
This is my favorite uncle Dane video glad you checked it out
i get engie's supposed to be smart but i've ever expected to think this hard in tf2
Only Demo's secondaries have an arm distance because they are sticky traps not his primaries
Tell that to all demos
he has a 3 part series on stock engie you should check out, the order goes
1. shotgun
2.pistol
3.wrench
The Wrangler replaces their secondary. No pistol, but they still have a shotgun. The Wrangler also gives the sentry a lot of damage resistance.
As an engineer the best counter to another engineer is a dispenser and a teleporter. They'll just support your team so that they can take them down.
Engineer mains at their finest
A straight up dictionary
This is equally entertaining and informative. As someone deeply passionate about FPS games and war strategy this is the best content on RUclips
I wouldn’t mind seeing you go through an Xcom campaign
30:27
the reason dane calls this a weird strategy is because the rescue ranger is best for defensive playstyles while the mini sentry is best for offensive playstyles, causing them to conflict with eachother.
well also becuase mini sentries are disposable so why would you want to really save them that bad that you equip a weapon for that purpose, also that player is probably new
Another great Uncle Dane video to watch would be his video on the Wrangler.
The main point Uncle Dane was making was that placing them forces the enemy to either shoot the sentry before it can arm itself and start shooting them, or shoot you but risk the sentry completing its construction and finishing them off.
finally, more Uncle Dane reactions
You should check out Pirateer TF2 sometime! He makes Uncle Dane level guides, but for Pyro!
:D
You should play some "foxhole". It's a war simulator game completely run by it's own players. Wars last around a month of real time.
Just watching someone react on uncle Dane, didn't knew I would learn WW2 tactics out of it and also what happened in the Napoleonic war
*Eureka Effect, mixing the Frontier Justice with that loadout is just mean
Bro i had a bad day but with the new notification a smile pop up in my face, sorry for bad english but i'm glad you upload videos, thanks!
My condolences on your bad day Alc3, but I hope it'll get better and you have a an amazing day tomorow!
Ninganeer is when you go behind the enemy lines as the engineer
Hey, MHGR, you talked about pyro, so I'm gonna give you a little advice that I learned about pyro that helps me get more kills without dying.
DO. NOT. W+M1. INTO. THE. ENEMY.
I cannot stress this enough, use your FLANKS. PLEASE. FLANK.
If you can get to a place where enemy isn't expecting you, (or better yet, behind them), you can get to them and burn the shit out of their back. By the time they turn around, you're halfway into turning them into ash.
Damn it has been a while since I have watched something by this channel and it's still as good since I last watched it.
Also, a comment on what the hell "ninjaneering" is:
The melee-slot item "The Eureka Effect" has a special ability that, upon being charged and activated, teleports you either to spawn (if you're not in spawn) or to your teleporter exit (if you're in spawn), *regardless of whether or not said teleporter is functioning.* This lets you be much sneakier with your teleporter placement, at the cost of others being unable to use said teleporter.
Yo my dude, thank you much for the content
You know, despite not knowing too much about TF2, you give a lot of really good advice! The tactics you describe can really be useful in a pinch!
If you like bullet hell style games and EDM, chiptune, or dubstep, you're gonna LOVE Just Shapes and Beats.
1. Equip the Eureka Effect
2. Place a disabled tele exit in a very cheeky spot
3. teleport via taunt
4. get some sneaky picks.
Dude, it's so interesting to hear you break down the break-downs, it's like listening to someone ramble about something you also enjoy but you just _haven't_ told them about it yet

If you like resource management and build planning, Klei games like Don't Starve Together and Oxygen Not Included are pretty good choices
I want you to play top-down squad-based tactics games, such as:

- BattleTech (mechas)

Engie mains unite
what's interesting is i remember overlooking the sheer importance of corners in firefights before i started watching more csgo related content. truth is, seeing how a counter strike round plays out isn't too far off from tf2, just a lot slower and methodical (of course). staying behind a wall or a corner really gives you time to calm down and think out your flank/push
As a scout player (not good but it's my favorite) I can attest that when a engineer places a sentry, I panic and focus the sentry before it is built
if you want more guides to review there's this channel called Pirateer that makes all sorts of videos about how to play pyro.
MGHR, hopefully you see this and I wish for you to react to the Company of Heroes cutscenes, maybe the DLC or original game. I'm interested in what you'll think of them.
Rewatch it with subtitles. They are amazing.
I recommend it, if you don’t mind dying a lot to
Nice. Epic that you reacted 4 this.
I think Hunt:Showdown would be an interesting game to see you play.
ESPECIALLY if you can bring aboard some friends of yours! Solo Hunt has it's advantages and disadvantages too, of course.

91 Fox here, I'm not entirely certain about RPGs, but I know MK19 Grenades have this Arming Distance, though can't remember the exact distance.
"I feel like Uncle Dane is known as The Bearded Engineer, so I feel like me as The Pyro with maybe like a Combat Helmet ?" [1:06]
You know what ? That's a cool TF2-sona idea
_Uncle Dane is The Bearded Engineer_
_LazyPurple is The Purple Scout_
_Soundsmith is The Soldier in The Hat_
_Solar Light is The Flying Demoknight_
and Paul could be _The Second Coming of Abe_
Context : Abraham Lincoln is The First Pyro to be hired by The Mann. Brothers in TF2 Canon
So even if it might seem impossible for him to shoot over an object, if he can see over it he can shoot over it
weve turned him into a tf2 addict
*Also, as useful as those tips are for fighting pyros, he glossed over good pyro players that remember things like the axe for CQC, the fact that they too can have shotguns and if they are running the Py-bro build, they can, if they know what they are doing, wreck your buildings pretty fast even up close in a pinch.
honestly i think xcom 2 or phoenix point would be cool to see from your perspective.
7:38 that sentry hes using in theat part is meant to briefly distract someone hes fighting not a placement to keep there.
Thanks for giving a lot of insight on this in terms of military strategy, first time hearing about oakoc too
I enjoyed the Metro series, just think of it as an atmospheric Escape from Tarkov with a Story line.
Please play SQUAD it would be amazing for someone with military perspective
Whenever i hear you talk about the real stuff related warfare it always reminds me of the Planetside 2. The game is beyond difficulty to learn if you aleady struggling in tf2. But i think it can be worth to react to the game to see how realistic it is compared to real life.
I think playing stellaris could be good, It’s all about creating your own empire to explore a galaxy full of danger and Wondrous things
5:00 The perfect moment to take out of context xD
For reference, the intro starts out as a parody of Uncle Dane's normal intro, where he typically builds a dispenser.
I found when I wanted to main pyro i spent a long time playing as spy first. Learning to move through a map to flank an enemy is key to being a scary pyro. :D
i'd love to see Paul play some left 4 dead
