Something you missed when Soldier did the natural run: those two pickaxes are weapons from the game, specifically the Equalizer and the Escape Plan. Both do stuff the lower your health gets, the former increasing in damage while the latter increases move speed. Soldier using both not only gives him a great reason to be able to tangle with the golem, but is also a reference to how these two weapons were originally one weapon that was split into two separate ones due to being overpowered.
Interesting way to nerf it

Fun Fact : The Winglet always makes a cameo in his works of art, his character is The BLU Demoman with his signature blue party hat and is often given the most gruesome, painful, or embarrassing deaths in his animations [11:25]
Really I didn’t know that? Thats actually pretty funny
All winglet animations have story, so yeah, starts with the fedora chronicles, theres also the side story of burning through space that conects to the main story on this one

The robot skins are actually in a co-op gamemode where 6 players fight hordes of robots. There's a trailer for it as well if you'd like to check that out. Australium is also in the lore as well, so is G. Mann. Here's a quick run-through of the real lore.
Two brothers, Redmond Mann and Blutarch Mann hire Mercs to fight for their late father's land. Saxton Hale supplies both of them, and australium is used to make good inventions and weapons. However, they have a third abandoned brother, Graymond Mann who decides to try to take all the land for himself with robots.
Its just Gray Mann, not Graymond
Also the machinery attached to his spine is called a "not dying machine" if I remember correctly
I don't think australium was used for weapons, weren't they instead used to extend the life of the mann brothers and the administrator
@@shadowfreddyfazbear9453 They were used for both
@@themalcahtwinz4743 oh ok
11:28 if you’re wondering why this demo in particular got a very grizzly death, it’s because it’s a running gag. That demo is The Winglet’s in game avatar and in almost every single video he has made, there’s a scene with him dying.
Like every Tarantino film that he's In, he gets killed

This is actually a sequel to Winglet’s Live and Let Spy video, which is a sequel to the Bolted Behemoth which you already reacted to, so maybe you should watch Live and Let Spy for context on what happened before this
13:12 Soldier was still holding Demoman’s arm thinking it was a Shotgun
And demo's hand just formed into a gun.
13:10
There's only one video between this and "The Bolted Behemoth," and that's "Live and Let Spy."
"The Bolted Behemoth" also goes off into another slightly more absurd couple of videos, those being "Burning Through Space" 1 and 2 which also somewhat connect back into this at the end.
There are a few "robot" cosmetics, but no full-on skin. At least not for the players; they are from the Mann vs. Machine gamemode. The robots are strictly AI-controlled.
Gotta love the references here. I laughed harder than I had in a while at "Here's Pyro!" XD
Kinda mad he missed live and let spy the part before this
The robots are from a side mode in the game called "Mann vs Machine", a mode that takes place after the events of the main mode
The man on the TV is the creator of these robots, his name is Grey Mann, he was raised by eagles and planned his revenge for years
The scene where soldier grabs the sniper from the motorcycle in the air, is a reference to a famous bollywood movie
Spy called sniper a jar man because one of his more iconic weapons is a jar of unidentified yellow liquid called “jarate”, which he throws at enemy causing a debug effect. We also know that the process of making it involves various drugs that shut down his kidneys.
25:51 the robots arent skins or an animator thing, but rather from a seperate gamemode called Mann vs. Machine, which is basically a group of players taking on waves of robots
Also he did call him a jar man because one of us in game weapons is a piss jar and the demo man has a claymore because there’s a sub class called demoknight
the claymore thing is also a word play on the sword claymore and the anti-personnel mine claymore (as he is a demolitions expert after all)

@@thegunslinger9707 You have a point but, i dislike the Gunslinger so
also some of the voice actors, especially the one who does Scout, are big fans of tf2 and are still playing and streaming it, and so sometimes will even record new lines for things like this.
34:27 one cool detail is that the pickaxes soldier uses (the escape plan and equalizer) both give stat boosts at low health (to speed and power respectively) which explains why soldier is able to fight him off so well.
Austrium is a substance in TF2 where it can make you live forever if you have enough of it. Eventually when you run out you would die and shrivel into old age.
The Baret that the heavy is using during the start of the animation is called “Bill’s Hat” which is a reference to the character Bill for Valve’s Left 4 Dead franchise.
And in spy’s disguise: there’s another! In the first iron man movie! An outlander points a gun at the mark 1 suit, bouncing of and in to his head
"The man who is a walking fire hazard just had a lit cigarette thrown at him"
yes, he is very much, though for... other reasons
Interesting! Hahaha
34:28 That's also a reference to those weapons (they used to be one called the "Equalizer"). As Soldier's HP lowers, one increases his speed and the other increases his melee damage (critical level damage once below 5HP)
26:45 In the TF2 Universe it is a metal which gave the Australians of their universe enhanced muscular bodies, hyper intelligent minds, and had the properties to allow for someone with a refined form of the Australian to prolong their life.
And don’t forget body hair in the shape of Australia
Tf2 doesn't have robot cosmetics, BUT you can fight robots in a co-op wave defense mode - Mann Versus Machine
This isnt even a reaction anymore. Its this guy explaining and comparing tf2 and real life. But i love every second of it
Just like that British guy explaing tf2 weapons right. His name is nathan or something idk
Australium is tf2's gold. and also the dual M249 SAWs spy was holding (supposed to be M60s) was a reference to Rambo.
For reference, those pickaxes the soldier picked up are a few of his options as melee tools. They are called the equalizer (silver) and the escape plan (black).
The equalizer does more damage the closer to death you are, and the escape plan lets you move faster the closer to death you are (though you also take 1.5x more damage for the boost.
Basically, those pickaxes turned him into one of the most dangerous beings on the planet, who would also probably die if you punched him once.
That needlessly cruel death is a recurring gag.
The Blu Demoman with the party hat is Winglet’s avatar and he tends to die in gruesome ways.
3:30 he called him a jar-man because the sniper fills bottles with his own piss and throws them at enemies as a weapon called Jarate (Jar based Karate)
The robot models are from an alternate game mode in Team Fortress 2 called Mann Vs. Machine. Basically a game mode where Red and Blu team up to fight an endless robot army.
I reccomend campfire stories of mikeburnfire. he was briefly a marine and his cohost Zach was a small arms repaiman in the Army. Plenty of tales and grumbles there. Here's the playlist with every single one: ruclips.net/p/PL3itm4Cj7SBB670hCjagXsEYXrzqqMwud

26:00 The robots are from Mann vs Machine with pits you, the Team Fortress 2 team against the robot armies of Gray Mann, the astranged Brother of Redmond and Blutarch Mann who had died in their feud over their father’s land that was left to them when he died.
26:52 the robot broadcasts to him
It’s cool that you picked up on the Garand thumb detail just like that. It’s on the Sniper’s hand model - it may not match what we see him using in-game but I’d say it’s just meant to add to his general sharpshooter vibe
I believe the scene with Spy kicking the briefcase on the road was a Wild Hogs reference as well. Although, Wild Hogs was one of those movies that referenced a lot of others on its own, so it may very well be from something else.
Fun fact: soldier was never in the military, yet still fought the war, but kept fighting even after the war, he also self thought him “military moves”
32:16
If you listen closely, the second that the Spy makes when decloaking is the Dead Ringer, being an invisibility watch that only activates upon taking damage!
It is entirely possible a shot may have gone through the box and activated the DR.
34:30
The dual wielded pickaxes are the Equalizer and the Escape Plan, both Soldier melee weapons.
In the past, they used to be one item!
The two items provided higher melee damage and higher movement speed respectively when at low health.
Fun fact: the scene from Indiana Jones was filmed that way because Harrison Ford was not feeling well that day so they had to shorten an epic fight scene that was planed to get ake place was instead changed to him just shooting the big guy and walking off
G. Mann is not gman from half-life. G Mann stands for grey Mann he is the 3rd brother of Mann co kids which are Redmond, Blutarch. Redmond and blutarch are the owners of red and blu companies, they were fighting for Mann co, but neither of them actually overcame one another so they were contesting for a while, until grey Mann (who was considered dead because of he was stolen from parents by a literal eagle) came to steal everything by using robot impersonalizations of mercenaries.
Also australium is a lore metal which is the reason why Mann co was found and is the reason why respawning is a thing. Also there are australium weapons in game.
The two pickaxes are the escape plan and the equalizer. The escape plan lets you move faster when injured and the equalizer lets you do more damage when injured. They used to be one weapon but for the sake of balance they were split into two. Normally you can't equip both at the same time but hey, movies.

Last TF2 video you asked how they get all the Voice Lines. The game has TONS of dialogue as it's 14 years old and SFM makers will combine and splice the audio to make story. Winglet is amazing with it.
“The funny hats are not causing strong unit loyalty”
This also applies to TF2
if that Grand's finger was still in the video, «meet the sniper»
You can't get robot skins but they are used for Mann vs Machine.
31:16 You're forgetting that buckshot pellets don't disperse that quickly and the robot's head isn't exactly very heavily armoured either
Oh and there is a some deleted scenes from that SFM, they are deleted because it was very extreme to yt
I made sure to double check. There are 3 Americans among them.
Scout from Boston, Engineer from Texas, and Soldier from "America's heartland".
(I also saw his military history here. Rejected from all branches but arranged his own transport to poland so he could join WW2. His "campaign" ended in 1949 when he was informed that the war ended 4 years earlier)
The rest of them is
Demoman from Ullapool, Scotland
Heavy from the Soviet Union
Sniper from... Born in New Zealand, but was shipped to Australia a few days later.
Spy from France... Somewhere. (I'm sure he will keep it to himself)
Medic is assumed to be German. But the place I looked didn't mention this.
Pyro is assumed to be from Earth.
Edit: (Just in case, as a sidenote. There is a gamemode in TF2 called Man vs Machine. The robots were created for this gamemode. It's a survival type game, where you are fighting hordes of them. Trying to keep them from bringing a bomb into your base. Although, in Germany there are stricter laws on violence in video games, so any gibs or blood in the game has been replaced with springs and cogs. This might be related. If not, just more information I suppose.)
In tf2 there are difrent weponds to unlock
By simply playing the game and demoman has a sub-class called demo Knight and it self-explanatory and btw I think 13-14 individual weponds for all clases

The reason why the spy called the blue sniper "A filthy jar man" is because he uses jars of his piss to throw at enemies in the game.
At this point you should put "team fortress 2 reviewer" in the intro
Spy throwing the scout bot before unloading the entire magnum was also a refrence to "get help" from thor ragnarok

And that’s not including some of the multi-class cosmetic weapons like a ham hock, a skull on a spine, a frying pan or a railroad crossing sign.

G.Mann doesn't have any dialogue so winglet decided to get one of his friends to voice G.Mann
For MHGR and others, the reason why the demean with the party hat (Who is winglet) died so gruesomely is that its a running joke in his SFM's, as often when a creators character is in a video they are the hero or a background, and instead, winglet just kills his character is mostly all of his videos.

It goes: Bolted Behemoth > Live and Let Spy > The RED, the BLU, the Ugly.
20:34 Singham reference. Bollywood#1
The funny thing about the heavy surviving and remembering soldier is that this part happens not long after live and let spy, meaning he let soldier go and trained for probably an hour at best.
Also if anyone could note the reference at 21:00 I'd appreciate it.
A drunk robot would be more like putting a medium strength magnet against it
The pyro with the silenced pistol might've been a golden eye reference with the way he popped from behind the wall
I remember 3 animations in the correct order but there might be more.
1) The Bottled Behemoth
2) Live and let Spy
3) The RED, the BLU and the Ugly
Loved this! And well, I just found your channel and your reaction about the Meet The Team... and hey, if you want to see a good story about the Soldier and even got a little offended (I did too, and always felt they left his personality unexplored in most animations, in comics we see he can be a very complex and compassionate man), I suggest you to see "Zero To Hero", an animation about what we call the "Jump Academy": One of the most important skills of all Soldier's and Demo's is to fly using their weapons' power. This is also very hard to master, so, when a player mastered it, he/she used to take some time to help and teach another player who hadn't. It was a really cool and considerate thing to do, and it's very part of what Soldiers (both the character and the real ones) would be prone to do. Hope you like it!
