Great video, I’m glad you talked about not promoting the low quality products as if they’re the worlds best it’s so common in the offroad world to see that.
Great video. I've had my channel for almost 2 years and have not hit 1000 subscribers yet. I will get there but it is something I work on when I can. It is a long road especially when you are doing it just because you enjoy making the videos and helping people. I enjoy your channel and appreciate your information.
You’ll definitely get there. Thanks for the support. I’ll check out your channel. It takes time. But I think doing things that the majority of people search for will help you get recognized. I made that mistake early on. I did things that I thought were cool, but no one searches for how to build a leafspring Jku. So while people enjoyed it….they didn’t discover me because of it.
I’d love to make a RUclips channel. I feel like I’ve got quite a bit of knowledge, a good amount of experience, a quality built rig that performs well, I live in a state where there’s plenty of off-roading, and I think I’m a genuine and likable guy. My biggest problem is, I don’t see how I can have consistent content. I’m not rich. I’m an average guy, working an average job, supporting a wife, supporting kids who are ever growing, supporting a house and bills that don’t stop, etc. I don’t buy brand new parts every single week. I don’t go wheeling every single week. There can be weeks on end where I don’t do anything with my Jeep. Then there could be weeks on end where I’m constantly upgrading and building and constantly wheeling. My content wouldn’t be consistent, and when I do post content I just don’t feel that it would be enjoyable enough for people to want to wait weeks to see something that might be enjoyable again.
It sounds like you have a great foundation to build a channel upon! Make things that the majority will focus on. I learned that early on. I was focused on things that I thought were cool…but they didn’t help people find me through google searches. For example, the first channel build I did was a leafspring converted JKU. It was awesome. But it’s not something most people do. If a big channel did it, would have gotten TONS of views. But it didn’t help people find me. So sometimes testing the cheap Amazon bolt on items will help. It certainly takes some money to get started. But think of it as a business and you are investing in it. It will eventually pay off. And people are always looking for product reviews. Lots of the poplar channels either were people with TV shows that already had a following, or they had a ton of cash to make it something big. Mischiefmaker…a ton of cash and a husband who is a marketing guy. Nate…he was from bleeepin jeep. Colt…Bleepin jeep. Rudy….he is Matt’s son from Matt’s Offroad…litebrite…she was on tv as a drift car driver and is an attractive female…so it’s just the way it is.

Yea. It’s crazy how often that happens. Even the big names do it. But they are only after the cash.
