I wish I could tell you how much of a difference you are making in the lives of women who want their appearance to be chic and elegant. I am very comfortable in a beret, but I had a lovely more formal hat that I just didn't feel confident enough to wear. Not only did I wear it yesterday, but when my daughter opened the door and saw me with it on, she gasped. She said, "You look like a movie star!" Thank you for your encouragement and your quest for excellence. You are a treasure.
Bonjour from London, Canada. At 71, I still look forward to looking at quality, informative videos as yours. Your style and taste is impeccable. I was raised to not purchase a lot, but to look for quality, which at times is difficult to find. I don't know if other women feel like I do, but many hand bags are so heavy and uncomfortable to carry. Also, there is more selection in clothing and accessories in Europe. Merci.🌹
I swear, there must be hundreds of fashion bloggers but most of them are victims of trends... I love the fact that you stand by what you preach and do not try to sell us the hottest and the newest. Merci beaucoup Marie Anne!
I'm 4'11" so finding a coat that fits is almost impossible! I often have to resort to the children's department. Lol. I tend to wear jackets instead of coats and get the sleeves shortened at the tailor's.
Last fall I was looking for a new coat and had a few I was looking at. For various reasons I decided to wait a year to buy it. About a week later I was at a thrift store (I have very little interest in current fashions) I found one of the coats I was wanting to buy. It looked new except the buttons were loose. And it was 80% less than it would have been new.
I couldn’t stop thinking about that beautiful coat with a fedora black hat! It seems we rectangles are blessed. Since I live in a warm country I only have 2 winter coats because I love traveling to Europe or North America during fall and winter. One is black and the newest is camel. Both are 90% wool and I adore them. Here I can wear them from December to February when it gets colder specially if I have dinners up in the mountains. My other two are better for fall and spring when it’s just chilly. They are very light but warm enough to keep me safe from cold and I can wear them almost all year long. One is black with white tiny dots and the other is brown with a pattern pretty much like your coat. About the bag, it looks so modern yet classy and the color is gorgeous! What can I tell you? You are a style star!😻
I'm hourglass and I have a doublebreasted coat and also a navy doublebreasted peacoat style jacket but I have noticed they look better left open. Here in Northern California I can get away with that ☺
Nice coat & bags. My favorite style of bags are medium sized satchels with adjustable straps to be able to carry by handle, shoulder or crossbody. I like a wallet with detachable crossbody strap to pull out of the bag as a grab & go into a restaurant or shopping. TFS
Great tips as always Marie-Anne. Love your new coat and handbag. I must definitely be learning from you, because as soon as I saw your beautiful coat, I thought "that's gorgeous but it's double-breasted so won't suit my pear shape"!!! Last year I found the winter coat of my dreams. It's a deep burgundy, single breasted, unbelted wool coat by Jaegar, with a mid size lapel and "hidden" pockets in the front panels. Beautiful quality, pure wool and a little cashmere. It was an investment even in the sales, but I'm hoping I will wear it for the next 10 years at least!!! I have a similar handbag in navy blue and it's a favourite of mine. I agree the mock croc effect is more autumnal rather than summer, but I'm sure it could be styled with many different outfits. A very practical and useful bag. I also think carrying a handbag like a puppy is very silly!!! 😂😍👍
What a lovely coat and handbag you have purchased. They are elegant and classy. I am an inverted triangle and I have had double breasted coats but without all the extra embellishments. I live in the N US and prefer the more maxi coats to help keep me warm. Your handbag is also very beautiful and I can see using it for many months a year. I prefer to use over the shoulder or cross body bags. I new trend you mentioned will come and go soon as it is not user friendly! I have been slowly building a coat collection as I wear a winter type coat for so many months of the year. Thank you for sharing your purchases with us. Enjoyed the video and learned from your expertise.
Love the coat. Love the bag. Actually i m glad that bag carrying has changed somewhat and that this has been seen on catwalk. Believe it or not i have recently started carrying my handbag this way due to arthritis in my neck.. lol This way is more comfortable for me. If i didn't have arthritis????? I probably would hang it from my shoulder. Thankyou Marie-Anne for this interesting video. Have a great week. Bev xx
I just ordered a beautiful camel coat that is 70% wool and 30% cashmere . It is a slim coat about 3/4 length with two front pockets. It is a very simple design with a single button design. I hope it is as beautiful as it looks!
Such a beautiful choice in your coat and bag. I am 5’ 3 petite extra small with an hour glass shape. My new coat is a long black wool princess style with a fitted waist and slightly full skirt or bottom part under the waist with gores. A beautiful detachable fur collar. I bought the same coat last year in a light grey and have worn it a lot. They are dressy coats and both absolutely gorgeous. I will wear them for years. I like to change out my handbags to coordinate with my outfits. I have several Brahmin bags that I have bought throughout the years. They have snake skin texture. (Don’t look like snakes.) These bags are timeless, I get a lot of use from them and always find them on sale. Thank you for the tips on style for body shapes and petites. It looks beautiful on you.
Bonjour Marie Anne I really love the fact that you take the time to think about all your purchases and knowing what you have in your closet it makes ones like fe so much easier. That coat would look great on my sister who is so much taller than I hand bag very classic style that hasn’t gone out of style that one can enjoy for many years to come along with that coat Merci again for great advice
Thank you, Marie-Anne! So helpful how you mention the body shapes and explain why the coat would or would not suit each shape. I am 162 cm tall, hourglass shape, and slim. It sounds nice in words, but it's quite a challenging combination for finding clothes! 😊. I decided this year to order a winter coat custom-made through Etsy, which I love. Any tips in future videos on jackets/coats/blazers for each body type would be of great interest! Hugs to you!
Love the classic look...great coat, unfortunately it wouldn’t suit my shape...mine is a straight deep periwinkle blue with hidden buttons ,stand up collar & side slits & back vent..cashmere & wool..very cozy..looks good with black or grey accessories & my deep blue Hermes scarf....I bought this colour because I was tired of neutrals
Marie-Anne these are both lovely additions to your wardrobe! My colors are more winter jewel colors, I do enjoy wearing latte color on bottom with pinks and blues on top, so your bag is a real hit!
Lovely classic coat. I just bought a structured crock look bag in black with a short handle and a removable cross body strap. I love cross body bags because they are hands free without the strap falling down my narrow shoulders all the time. I can see where you could use that natural bag with just about anything in your wardrobe and it would give the black/white/greys a subtle pop of color. Great purchases.
Lapels too wide for my 'gardener's shoulders'. I think I need to get a dressform, it seems easier to see the fit and cut rather than just on a hanger. Sometimes I think it would just be easier to go south in the winter! :)
I am rectangular shape and I love the coat . Have similar one in beige color but without a waist belt type of a detail . This video is very informative and helpful , thank you ! Also I want to add that coats I like have to be in nice and classy colors like black , beige , grey .
Love the coat, Marie-Anne. I tend to wear single breasted dark usualy open worn waisted coats (for my apple shape) to give the illusion of a waist and the dark colour reduces a large tummy bulge. I bought three bags in the past year but didn't pay more than £200 for the lot. 1. Radley navy blue pocket bag (messenger style) on sale from Radley from £110 to £65. Love the smooth leather and versatility of this bag and it holds a lot of stuff 2. A Saccoo (dutch company) muted green/grey mid sized backpack with numerous pockets with silver hardware (beautiful leather and also in great shape from ebay for just £50), 3. Le Pilage large folded shopper tote in dark grey with brown leather trim (useful for leisure and work) on sale from Hoopers Tunbridge Wells for £65 (normally retails for over £100 for the large size). In summer, I tend not to wear leather bags at all. Instead I have a fabulous leather top traditional Spanish straw basket tote that I've had for years, which goes with anything (you can tie nice colourful scarves to it too). I don't bother buying high end expensive logo designer bags anymore, costing hundreds or thousands of pounds. I find them overpriced for what they are (although I can see why you love Aspinall - but the style for me is too structure and traditionally classic, which is not my style). I used to have a Mulberry Scotchgrain in black and brown, with the tartan interior, which was a lovely bag but I sold it a while back as I didn't have much use for it anymore. I have a few Italian made The Bridge bags too, which I like although I'm not much into brown leather bags at present. Another favourite bag of mine is a beautiful slouchy mid-large size hobo mid grey suede shoulder bag with this gorgeous grey silky satin lining. I don't wear it very often, but it is great for sunny colder days. For practical 'I can't be bothered' days (not that you get those, Marie-Anne) I use a Kipling school bag that I can throw my life in and someone else's besides and still have room for a kitchen sink.
I love the coat! I love black and white herringbone, I believe that is, and the style is so perfect for work. The pockets are utilitarian; women's clothes need more pockets in general. Those are big enough that you could forego a purse if you wanted to. Me, my purse is like Mary Poppins' endless carpet bag--I love having all the items I might need, or that my family needs. But I do use smaller versions like the saddle bag purse in the evenings or times when a large purse isn't appropriate or would be difficult to carry. Enjoyed the video as usual! Thanks!
Such good advice; we need to consider our own body shape and invest in the best pieces we can, looking to the long time. Better for the environment, too, than buying numerous unsuitable coats to be disposed of at the end of one season. A good coat should last 20 or 30 years, even it it passes through several owners.
I so wish I could wear a coat like this. It is beautiful! But I have an hour glass figure so double breasted and flap hip pockets add 10-15 pounds to me. Love your videos.
I love a crossbody handbag! I found a style I love with a built-in wallet characteristic (no a fan of a separate wallet). I have purchased the same handbag in different colors and change them out ever couple months💚
Good morning Marie-Ann. Once again you have come up with a beautiful style coat. It was so easy to follow your explanations of the ‘whys and wherefores’. I have friends in each of your body shapes so could visualise the coat on each of them and instantly understood your reasoning. Thank you for a superb video. Much appreciated. x
love the new bag. i like wearing a flatter bag, cross-body too. very comfortable....all your talk of coats reminded me of the coat that got away. it was 30 years ago and i still regret not buying it [ha!] beautiful, true red, mohair, swing style.......thanks for the tips as always....not sure, but you look different, more wide-eyed. maybe you re-shaped your brows or your hair is shorter? anyway, looks great.
Faith Nelson ... I have a grey swing coat that was purchased in 1971 and I adore it. It too is made of wool and is so warm. Definitely a winter coat and one of my favourites. 😀
Much appreciation for this style of video. Especially the hourglass information. I'ver heard that belts are problematic in that they show wear rather quickly. But I see now that it's the best style for this figure. It's really nice to understand the reasons which suit various builds. I'm probably a minority in my hobby of over-analyzing, so all video types are good to see. :)
Thank you for explaining that even though it’s beautiful, it won’t work for Petite or hourglass. I have 5 coats. Plain Black, plain beige with a fabric belt, a lighter collarless silver grey, a red military single breasted with a leather thin belt and velvet black arm detail and a cream wool coat with leather trims. I must say, I wear my black , grey and beige the most. Because I am petite, I buy coats that are not too long🥰 i have been using your books for 4 years, but I just made some accidental good choices 10 years ago too. And ha ha...I do agree with your handbag comment. Although, I use one of my brand less bags like that because it keeps slipping from my shoulder. 😊
I already mentioned my new dark blue-green coat that I got for Christmas in a comment for a recent video. Even though it was a gift I picked it out myself, and it was certainly a bit expensive, but I think it really suits me both in shape and color, and I even get compliments every single time I wear it so I'm very happy with it!
I can't afford to buy a lot of good bags so I buy one or two a year and take very good care of them. I have to buy everything carefully, stick with classics and buy on sale because I don't have a large budget. The coat you bought is my favorite although I love the other items as well.
That is a beautiful coat - no doubt about it. I have my much much loved long trench coat. I have worn it every winter for years. It still looks great, however the lining is torn and worn. I am loathe to try and replace it though.
There are many ‘Repair and Replace’ seamstresses up and down the U.K. I don’t know where you live but I am sure if you Google for your area, you will find one near to you or in the next area.
@@suzanneturley4433 Absolutely Suzanne and Marie-Anne, I have no idea why I haven't had it done before now. I would never hang curtains with a ripped lining, or put shabby linen on the bed, but I wear a coat that I can not unbutton in public. Is it a British thing do you think, or just me? There is more to this French Chic than just my wardrobe, its a very interesting journey. Lol
Kate Sheppard ...No I don’t think it is a British thing, I think it is down to the comfort of the coat and only thinking about it when you are about to wear it. I have a coat that I notice the under arm sleeve lining has partially come undone. I have placed it on the back of a chair as I figure out the way that my dear late Mum, once a professional dressmaker, would have repaired it without using her sewing machine. 😀
Marie-Anne Lecoeur Thank you so much for that advice. I am pleased to say that I repaired the lining of my coat this afternoon. I did this by refolding the two seams together and holding in place with pins leaving only a few centimetres open to slide the needle further along the seam where the stitching had not come undone. I then weaved the needle along the seam removing pins as I went and on into the other side where again the seam was still holding. I then brought the needle back up through a natural tidy gap and went back the same way to make the repair extra strong. While I was about it I also removed the buttons and sewed them back on so they too are strong once again. 🙂
I like a double breasted coat with a narrow waistline. It has to be wool or a cashmere blend. I get lost in a straight coat because I'm very small and a bit too thin.I also need more scarves, boots and a winter hat. I'm not sure what kind of hat and boots I want this year but I'll find some I love. It's very cold here so my winter wear has to be very warm. You chose a coat that will look lovely on you.
When I lived in San Francisco I loved wearing coats. One for winter and a lighter one for spring-summer. The important thing was to buy a quality coat of Cashmere wool usually in. Navy or camel color. 60 years later I have a nice navy cashmere in a chesterfield style. Unfortunately, I live in Hawaii so I rarely get to wear it unless I go to a cold climate. I very much like your grey double breasted coat. It would not be the right style for me but yes for you.
Everything seen on the catwalk is exaggerated but there is always a little element that insinuates itself into everyday fashion - so only the future will decide how I carry my hand bag .
Lovely purchases Marie Anne! I love LK Bennett shoes, especially their courts pumps. I also love their clutches too fantastic quality! your new bag is very chic and practical,II agree with your stance on the fashion bloggers/celebrities carrying their bags that way very impractical indeed, Also the photos of same fashion/street style people carrying their bags open to show the label of said expensive brand. I enjoyed this video!
Good evening Marie Anne such a wonderful video .You brought up such great tips about a coat that I never really thought of I have learned so much thanks a🤗🤗🤗
Thank you Marie-Anne. The coat is gorgeous and I'm sure looks great on you! I am a petite hourglass and it is difficult to find quality coats to fit well. For several years, there was a British line available in Canada - pretty good quality in petite sizes called Précis. Unfortunately, it closed and is no longer available. Any suggestions on other "petite" quality clothing brands would be appreciated. Also wanted to mention that as an hourglass petite with a larger bust and bering short-waisted, a coat with a tied belt does not work. A coat that tapers at the waist is better or a single-breasted straight slim coat looks good.
I have a similar shape Italian coat in deep brown, wide lapels (thanks to you I now know that’s because I am a rectangle!) but what I’m not sure about is how to wear it with a cross-body bag? PS that black handbag - meow!
Har allerede mange jakker og frakker...afventer nyt skindtøj fra bundtmager...har vist derved, gjort et valg...vil huske Deres råd,når det igen bliver aktuelt...merci chic french lady🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰
I agree with your comment about carrying your handbag. If your handbag has a strap or handle use it. I have seen clutch bags with a hand strap across the bag to slip you hand in a bit strange l think
Firstly, your outfit is beautifully chic, suits your colouring and enhances your figure; you practice what you preach! I have never gone for double breasted coats, because although I’m an inverted triangle, I’m still quite large, but I might try one on. I have 3 wool coats, a pinky beige, a warm brown with leopard print fur collar and a navy one. They are all long and slim fitting, and single breasted. The beige has a medium sized shawl collar. I love all of them, they are all second hand and were a real turning point in my new style. I also have an inexpensive synthetic coat in teal, which is shorter, is a wrap style with a tie belt. It has crazy fur cuffs and expresses my fun side. The grey coat really suits you. It looks like it has a half belt pulling in the waist and, with the pocket flaps at the hip, it really gives you a lovely shape. I do like a herringbone weave, they can be bold like your or smaller and more subtle. My husband has a couple of Donegal tweed herringbone sports jackets which are beautiful. I love the handbag, but the colour is a bit yellow for me. I have a mock croc leather handbag that I bought second hand recently; it’s Marks and Spencer, a little bit squarer and a reddish brown. I do need a paler handbag for the spring, more of a cream, or light tan, though. I have noticed that women tend to wear cross body bags higher up at the waist, whereas it always used to be at hip level.. Is that to attract attention to the waist? But with my figure, maybe the hip level is better? I found a lovely Jaeger navy shift dress yesterday for £20 brand new! It’s obviously old stock in a closing down sale. Bonmarche in the UK. My husband found some Jaeger there too, a waterproof jacket and a wool blazer. Bonmarche is a high street chain that is closing, definitely not a Jaeger stockist. The quality is beautiful. It is similar to a black dress in your wardrobe, including the little cap sleeves. I will be wearing it with navy all over and leopard print shoes, pearl earrings and maybe a brooch; I can’t wait!
Thank you for the coat tips. I have just two coats one black that I inherited from my mother that is a classic shape and I just need to change the discolor buttons. I have a camel coat that I bought for myself many years ago with out knowing your tips I am afraid is not flattering to me. But I will keep your tips on mind for when I am ready to buy a new coat. I like the shape of the saddle bag very much but I am not sure about the texture on the leather.
Merci Marie-Anne for another great video. I am currently shopping for a knee length wool coat. However, I am a "column" figure, and so I don't want double breasted, nor do I want a belt. My dream is to find a straight shape, single breasted, minimal details, but an excellent cut. I feel I have searched everywhere and all I find are belted, double breasted, or both. The only time I have found a halfway decent coat, it's unlined! Any suggestions you have would be most welcome. Merci beaucoup! -Faith
Thank you again for your sensible style comments! I have a leather saddle bag in dark brown, and they last forever and as you say, they are classics. Here in Bath we are lucky in that classic clothes turn up all the time in our many charity shops. As a pensioner, these are where I buy most of my clothes, most recently a wonderful knee length duffle coat in bright pink, as new, for £5! It is a classic coat in the UK, but do you have them in France?
Bonjour Marie Ann. Any advise what colour to wear for mother of the bride outfit please? Black or white outfits are out for this occasion. Love your content. Thankyou for your posts.
Hi Marie- Anne Love the content of this video and the practical advice you give regarding selecting a coat. The bag is beautiful, I have owned the same piece since September last year. However, one observation I have regarding the cross body strap, it tends to harsh against your clothing causing piling - so far I have had to discard 2 delicate fabric tops. I would be interested if you experience a similar problem or maybe I just have a bag with particularly hard stitching.
Marie-Anne Lecoeur - so kind of you to reply - I think the problem was more associated with the fabric of the tops and I certainly wouldn’t want you to ruin any of your beautiful clothes. I’m sure it will be fine with heavier cloth ie coats. Still a lovely & versatile bag which I will continue to enjoy and I hope you do too.
Bonjour Marie-Anne, as you know I've got way too many coats. Admitting to twenty two, mostly from charity hauls, never paid more than seven pounds for each of them.. I've got six macs, eight jackets, five gilets and do wear most of them, of course Ive got my favourites..... On subject of handbags,, again too many probably twenty I'd say.... Do love the coat, have a herringbone throw scarf I wear often paula x
@@MarieAnneLecoeur Oh my goodness that's a question and a half marie-Anne.... Well probably a beautiful baby pink cashmere coat that's car coat length and would have cost hundreds of pounds but I bought for seven... But yesterday was sooo tempted when Saw a lovely soft black long velvet coat from Biba, at only four pounds.. But have at least eight solely black coats so had to leave the shop very quickly before I got out my credit card, ha ha.. And see you can now buy Hobbs, london clothing at qvcuk, wow.. Have a great day paula x
Lovely coat but wouldn't suit me as it would be a little overwhelming. Love the bag though, actually I bought one very similar last Autumn, croc print but mine is a slightly paler colour, more cream/ camel shade.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur And looked after last a lifetime. Look at the Prince of Wales - and the late Duke of Edinburgh, for that matter. Theirs are ancient.
Hello Marie- Anne, That is a lovely coat and it looks wonderful on you. I live double breasted style, but perhaps too boxy for my shape. I actually have a question regarding the LilySilk blouses. I found one on Amazon that I am considering. I know you wear that brand quite a bit, do you think they run a bit small or true to size? I am typically an xs in shirts, but very occasionally size up. Curious as to what you think. Thank you!
I know I should not wear double breasted coats/jackets but as I live in Scotland, I wear a double breasted trenchcoat. The rain here seldom falls vertically. Diagonally, yes. Horizontally, yes. The double breastedness (is it a word?) protects against the wet AND the wind. I call this adapting to the environment. Forgiven?
Hello Marie-Anne, both are very elegant. Actually the bag looks good with the red top you are wearing. Are you referring to those bags that look like the texture of marshmallows? The ones that you’ve seen carried in a weird sort of way? Instagram I expect. I could add, who sits in a cafe next to a Chanel handbag placed on the table smiling and waving at us? Those from the parallel world called Instagram 🙂 That’s where it’s all happening!
I'm so full of questions today. This is one of your best videos ever! You touched on so many topics that caused my mind and heart to race. Your choices are always superb. My favorite would be the coat, then the handbag, both beautiful, indeed. I'm an hourglass shape and only 5' 5". I believe my own choice for a "dress coat' is one that is similarly styled to yours but in single-breasted, with a belt. I noticed that large collars and lapels have made a surge in fashion recently. Have you addressed what hat you would wear with this coat? Is there a style hat you might avoid? I'm also curious about metal colors and how they work, what colors, how do you choose what is best suited, is it your skin coloring or your outfit color/both? Do you tend to wear white gold/silver/platinum with black outfits...or is gold just as chic? Thank you so much for all you do! xoxoxo from Ohio/USA
Another way of carrying a larger bag that I think is impractical and looks silly, is when they carry it in the crook of their elbow with lower section of the arm pointing up. Everyone has been doing it on the telly for some time now. It looks bizarre. I like that you said that the best way to carry a shoulder bag is across the body. That is what I have always done, because it feels more stable and secure, and completely frees both arms. I like that you don’t conform to every stupid idea that the fashion industry comes up with. I suspect that comes with age. When we are young, we are idiots (at least I was). This is probably because I am lazy and don’t like constantly decluttering my shoulder bag, but I carry a lot of bits and pieces in it, and my wallet is also large and has multiple compartments. I would not be able to manage with your bag; the capacity of it is far too small for me.
Love the coat, love that pink scarf, I will try to find the same color but different cut..... something belted 😊thank you for the excellent explanation and priceless tips as usual 🌸 😊
The bag and the coat are both lovely. Sadly that coat would make me look square-shaped as I am a petite hourglass! I love bags that are versatile as I walk everywhere and often go straight from my non-posh job to a posher night out! I don't just look for bags that are versatile in their colour and style but also come with different straps. I have a lovely black leather bag that comes with extra straps to convert it into a backpack. It is so handy if I suddenly need to bring a lot of stuff home from work. The most ridiculous bag trend was when celebs carried clutch bags that were the size of those huge beach bags. I thought the fashion world had finally lost its mind at that point!
I like the bag and the color but would like it a bit larger. As far as dumb trends bags go those micro bags are just stupid. You can’t even put a phone in them . I also dislike bags that are backpacks. The coat is lovely. I have several coats A dear friend recently gifted me a lovely aubergine suede coat. Suede is not warm unless it is lined and this one is not but will be good in fall and early winter.
I love the coat on you, but there's the rub. On YOU. I am an extreme pear (2 sizes bigger at the thigh than at the breast) and I am in deep despair as my beautiful 10 year old wool coat is starting to sag a bit and I cannot find a coat to replace it although I've been looking for 2 years now. How about a session on how to find that elusive piece you are looking for?
@@MarieAnneLecoeur thank you so much, Marie-Anne. Actually I know what styles look good and the coat I have is perfect for my shape- so flattering. The problem is I can't find anything as amazing in style and cut
Merci.🌹
I find it difficult to find quality bags that look good on me a petite. Everything is so large and heavy.
I swear, there must be hundreds of fashion bloggers but most of them are victims of trends... I love the fact that you stand by what you preach and do not try to sell us the hottest and the newest. Merci beaucoup Marie Anne!
I love the handbag. What a gorgeous color and pattern. My tummy and I am hour glass can not wear the coat, but I love it on you and the patternish.
I agree. I’m petite and that coat would completely overwhelm me. It looks great on you, though! ❤️
I'm 4'11" so finding a coat that fits is almost impossible! I often have to resort to the children's department. Lol. I tend to wear jackets instead of coats and get the sleeves shortened at the tailor's.
More on coats for different body shapes 😊❤
Last fall I was looking for a new coat and had a few I was looking at. For various reasons I decided to wait a year to buy it. About a week later I was at a thrift store (I have very little interest in current fashions) I found one of the coats I was wanting to buy. It looked new except the buttons were loose. And it was 80% less than it would have been new.
It was meant to be.
Score! Don't you love it when that happens.
I recently picked up an Italian wool navy blue single breasted long coat for 20 bucks I love it Thrift shops and consignment stores are my favorite
Hvilket held det var...sikkert pga en andens fejlkøb...
Your coat looks really lovely on you Marie-Anne. I like your bag too but I prefer them a bit bigger.
The bag is on sale it seems! Nice. Affordable, classic handbag. I love saddlebags! I inherited one from my Mom, a red Coach leather. A nice piece.
In LOVE with that coat.... I, too, am a rectangle. Perfect for us!
Here in Northern California I can get away with that ☺
I love the coat! I agree with you about the manner in which models are carrying handbags and you made me laugh! Yes, it is ridiculous😁
I like very much this coat.I think it is very elegant and versatile, specially combined with red color.
Both stunning. Love the colour of the bag.
Time to sing BUTTON UP YOUR OVERCOAT with these tres chic looks.
Congratulations with new coat and bag.
I like both.
Looks great on you👍🙋🏼♀️
Love the classic look...great coat, unfortunately it wouldn’t suit my shape...mine is a straight deep periwinkle blue with hidden buttons ,stand up collar & side slits & back vent..cashmere & wool..very cozy..looks good with black or grey accessories & my deep blue Hermes scarf....I bought this colour because I was tired of neutrals
The coat is a dream!
I have a purse similar just it's regular leather and dark brown I bought it in Ireland. The coat is splendid.
Marie- Anne Good advice
I would love if you could promote more of French brands and industrial savoir-faire for these two incontournables
Lapels too wide for my 'gardener's shoulders'. I think I need to get a dressform, it seems easier to see the fit and cut rather than just on a hanger. Sometimes I think it would just be easier to go south in the winter! :)
Love the ideas that you pass to us ! Liked both of your purchases 💕
I really like the color of your new bag. It’s lovely and so is the coat.
Classic pieces...they are pretty. Thanks for sharing. Another good video.
Bag will look lovely with white shirt and jeans
Stunning pieces. Happy New Year to you 💖.
Lovely hobbs handbag Marie- Anne , you can always rely on them for classic pieces . X
I love the bag. But I need to carry many items that would not fit. I am petite, what type bag should I use? Thank you.
Just have to say you look incredible today. Love you in red.
Lovely handbag Marie-Anne.
Everything seen on the catwalk is exaggerated but there is always a little element that insinuates itself into everyday fashion - so only the future will decide how I carry my hand bag .
Thank you for the coat. Petty that i bought alredy rong coat. Your coat is great
Lovely purchases Marie Anne!
Good evening Marie Anne such a wonderful video .You brought up such great tips about a coat that I never really thought of I have learned so much thanks a🤗🤗🤗
O I like this Coat so much, is perfekt vor your Style
Your black leather? jeans are beautiful. I love the tweed winter coat.
A beautiful garment!
PS that black handbag - meow!
gorgeous coat
Har allerede mange jakker og frakker...afventer nyt skindtøj fra bundtmager...har vist derved, gjort et valg...vil huske Deres råd,når det igen bliver aktuelt...merci chic french lady🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰
I agree with your comment about carrying your handbag. If your handbag has a strap or handle use it. I have seen clutch bags with a hand strap across the bag to slip you hand in a bit strange l think
Red and black together...definitely your "hot" combination!
-Faith
Your hair is so cute in this video
Thank you again for your sensible style comments! I have a leather saddle bag in dark brown, and they last forever and as you say, they are classics. Here in Bath we are lucky in that classic clothes turn up all the time in our many charity shops. As a pensioner, these are where I buy most of my clothes, most recently a wonderful knee length duffle coat in bright pink, as new, for £5! It is a classic coat in the UK, but do you have them in France?
We have them Canada and they never go out of style and last forever.
Bonjour Marie Ann. Any advise what colour to wear for mother of the bride outfit please? Black or white outfits are out for this occasion. Love your content. Thankyou for your posts.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur thankyou.
This is so interesting Marie-Anne! What body shape do you think I am? I always get so confused haha x
Ooooo I love that bag ❤❤ it's perfect 😊 & yes I agree that's a very silly way to carry a handbag😄
I am afraid I mostly end up with the faithful Barbour waxed jacket and Dubarry Galway boots. And a flat ‘at.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur And looked after last a lifetime. Look at the Prince of Wales - and the late Duke of Edinburgh, for that matter. Theirs are ancient.
Love your coat. My coats are all three quarter which l have got use to for driving. Do you match your handbag with your shoes x
the coat is just so beautiful Marie Anne....I wanted to buy it at once but it is unfortunately sold out....
Hello Marie- Anne,
That is a lovely coat and it looks wonderful on you. Thank you!
Thank you 😊
It is so hard to find the right bag. I hate giant bags. I just fill them up with too much stuff. Your choices are gorgeous.
Hi! Just love your channel! Can you please do a review on A313 face cream?
Also, love your waxed jeans! Tres sexy!
Forgiven?
Absolutely Marilena - dress for the weather ☔️😘
Hello Marie-Anne, both are very elegant. Actually the bag looks good with the red top you are wearing.
Are you referring to those bags that look like the texture of marshmallows? The ones that you’ve seen carried in a weird sort of way? Instagram I expect. I could add, who sits in a cafe next to a Chanel handbag placed on the table smiling and waving at us? Those from the parallel world called Instagram 🙂
That’s where it’s all happening!
Thank you so muchhh
@@MarieAnneLecoeur - what jewelry metals, example would be earrings Or lapel pins, white gold?
Tænkte,hvorfor har jeg ikke denne model...svaret er,jeg er petite...merci french lady👍

I love you so much

Went straight to lkbennet website . .you're coat has sold out unfortunately . .
