I don’t know why I got so emotional when I saw the purse hanger but yes. My mother grew up very poor, and she had to learn all this from women friends/neighbors after she got married very young. Most of her friends were originally from Europe and settled here...so they taught her all about this European way of being proper. My mom had me when she was quite a bit older, and she taught me all that she learned. I thought it was silly at first bc it was so different from my generation...stockings, we don’t wear them, I’d laugh. But I got modeling jobs when I was in my late teens and had to be around sophisticated European girls-I felt kinda not good about myself then...but the moment I went to a chic lunch and pulled out my purse hanger, everything changed and I felt like I fit right in. 💗
Your bag is beautiful. I, too, love carrying everything in tidy parcels/totes/bags. Having everything contained within makes my life easy. I'd hate to look inside and see a jumble of items. While I don't make a deliberate plan of it, having a handkerchief with my favorite scent/fragrance upon it is lovely. When opening the bag there is my signature scent. I don't wear much fragrance because so many are put off by/or have an allergy to them. Thank you for sharing.
Your bag is lovely and practical. I agree that quality is very important, especially when an item is used constantly. I change out my bags often to coordinate with outfits so I have a small bag that carries my small items so I can just change it out. Yes a nail file, lipstick, mirror keys, drivers license are items I carry. I also have a small sewing kit just in case a button or hem comes loose. An understanding of the French way of life is important in understanding your way of fashion purchases. I think most of us are on a budget so it is important to choose quality items that we will get much use from. One important thing in my handbag I forgot to mention is a square scarf. I keep it to put over my hair and face when I try on clothes while shopping. It keeps my hair from getting messy and makeup from being transferred to clothes I pull over my head.
Five years or more ago, handbag hooks were popular in the USA. I had 2 and loved them. I've misplaced them over time. I really need to purchase again. I used them also at church to hang on the back of the seat in front of me.
Always fascinating to know what others have “in the bag!” I have a hairbrush, having unruly mop of hair, similar make up items ( including emory board 😊) small emergency packet of feminine items, and an energy bar. I used to have a paperback book but can now read “online.” Love your beautiful bag. And all your clever ideas...♥️
Love your handbag, Marie-Anne. It's so elegant, yet holds a lot. The interior of my bag is not as lovely, but you've inspired me to elevate my look! The idea of a nice pen is genius. I am the one carrying plastic pens in my purse from the last hotel I stayed in! I could definitely elevate that look. Reading the comments below, I am going to add a couple of small zippered bags to hold makeup items and miscellaneous. At the moment, I carry my cell phone, lipstick, a mirror, comb, and of course a wallet with my identification cards. Oh, and my garage door opener as well. Thanks for a great video. Brave of you to open your purse to us!
I really admire your lifestyle, Marie-Anne. Your videos always give me food for thought on what to improve in my own everyday life. Thank you for your tips!
Your bag contents are as practical and functional as I expected, so organised! I also love that you carry a little perfume vial and the Montblanc pen, I always carry a special fountain pen that I love because my sister gave it to me, it's inlaid with mother of pearl and people always notice the beautiful pen, a nice nod to the past (my grandparents always carried a beautiful personalised fountain pen). Funny that here in Portugal it is also considered bad luck to place a handbag on the floor 😆
Of course you are perfectly organised, I would expect nothing less. I remember my mum having a handbag hook in the 1960s..... Disappeared from use but so practical.... I was taught that it was bad manners to put a bag on the table.
I have placed small evening clutches (think statement piece) on the table during dinner. Is that wrong? Ooh, I need to know. There are typically no straps. Yet, these are tiny, so what solutions do I have that speak of elegance?
@@TRWoods914 Apparently. My mother always used a handbag holder and that was what they did in those days. My dad was a poliitician and they were always off to functions. I think that it is great that such a product is now available again. It also keeps it clear of any spillages
I truly enjoyed your video. Love the purse hook and your bag is just lovably. On my purse I have lipstick, lip balm, tissue paper, eye drops, mirror, powder, a small first aid kit, a fountain pen, my diary, my kindle, car keys, some caramels, some seeds, my little wallet with some cash, credit cards and driver license. I have small kids so I also have with me a set of playing cards. Something funny, I was a chaperone on one of my boys class and I was left with 10 kids having to wait quietly for our turn to enter to an exhibition and to keep them out of mischief I play a game with them to guess what I was having on my handbag! We had lots of fun..
Yes! I have a special pen. (Actually, I have several that I rotate through.) I love fountain pens. At present, my special pen is a TWSBI Eco fountain pen with an extra fine nib filled with Diamine Shimmering Seas ink. I have a multi-pen case for it and it lives in my mini-backpack when I'm not actually using it. I also have at least one (and usually have two or three) Pilot G2 gel pens with the .38mm point on my person at all times. I carry several pocket sized notebooks, too. I confess I have an everpresent dread of being anywhere without something to write with or to take notes in. XP
A love your purse and wallet! Very beautiful. I also agree with you on how you should have nice quality wallet and purse. I have a wallet that I have used so much (about 8 years now) and it is still in great shape. Have a lovely weekend :)
Lovely video, as per usual! Marie Anne, what is striking to me is the elegance of your mannerisms. Your hands move elegantly and there is refinement in all your movements. Would you please create a video about elegance in movement, speaking, etc. ? Thank you for your always peaceful and cheerful vids. You are a treasure.
I enjoyed this video, thank you to share. I always have a lipstick, tissues and a little mirror in my bag. What a lovely and special idea to present you a heart as a mirror! Have a nice evening💟
I use a Clipa2 handbag holder - It's C-shaped when open and much more versatile! Just yesterday, I went into a restroom stall, turned around, and NOTHINg to hang my purse on, nothing to set it on, and I don't put my purse on bathroom floors! However, there was a handle on the door, and my Clipa2 hooked onto it on one and and hooked my purse on the other end. And yes, they work well on tables too. They have a grip surface at the tip of the hook and it works.
I like the purse hook. One thing I will add to MY handbag. Besides that I have wet wipes, a roll up tape measure (leather- very chic), a little leather pochette with contact lenses, hand sanitizer, artificial tears in small units and painkillers, a water bottle, tram tickets, keychain attached in bag, a kindle with 3000 books in it ( in case I end up on a desert island and stay stranded for the next 20 years (my dream), and a little folder with note paper, post it notes and small postits to hold the place on a book or mag
3000 books! Here I am with close to 400 and thinking I’m extra. Like really, when will I get to read all of them, not that it has stopped me from checking out Goodreads for recommendations.
Thank you for sharing, I tend to carry too much in my handbag, all contained in see through case's. 1 for hair, 1 for nails, 1 for medicine and hadsanitiser, 1 for pens and a notebook. I adore your Aspinal purchases, a new goal in life for me
I've been watching many of your videos recently...just discovered your channel. I like handbags, so this was very good. I try to use a handbag organizer to protect the bag and keep things in their proper place. I always keep a retractable style pen to help reduce the chance of an ink mark on the bag. I sometimes carry a handbag hangers. In the U.S. we commonly have to carry masks and hand sanitizer. Nail file and tiny clippers; a discrete container of spices and stevia sweetener; a container with variety of basic medications; hair clips/ties; emergency medical directive. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Marie-Anne! I am hooked on all your fun videos. Love your style. You are teaching us the little touches of elegance, to enhance our joy. I feel lighter and happier, having this knowledge. I have been paring down my wardrobe. Little be little, adding French chic lifestyle to my day. Many Thanks:) That said, I wonder what your daily morning, ‘French Chic and Elegant’ routine is? As in ‘what time do you start the day, end the day... ‘? My day would be: up at 7, skincare, get dressed, come downstairs for lemon water while coffee is brewing. 2 cups of coffee, breakfast and a 30 min. Walk listening to a book or music. Thanks Again, Happy Saturday!:)💐
Marie-Anne Lecoeur wow, that’s a strong schedule! I also love yoga. I have watched the skin care video!:) I took notes, and ordered 4 items which I love.( Vichy, Darphin & Nuxe saved my professional facial budget, all thanks to you!). I also purchased a jacket from Joules, you spoke of on another video. Speaking of clothes, we have a cruise coming up to the Caribbean in March. I have looked for videos on how to pack for a “hot-sitting by the pool” vacation, but the gals are all very young and wearing cut off shorts!😳 I am 58, and plan on skirts, what about a swimsuit!? I really love a 2 peice, but this is a public place and we will be with relatives. God Bless! Have a lovely day. I will too.
Thank you for this video Marie-Anne. You know, I have changed my whole wardrobe because of your teachings. Fortunately, there are amazing sales on because of Covid-19.
Interesting contents in your bag! As I am retired, I do not need to carry any electronics other than my cell phone. But I like to keep a small bit of makeup for touch ups. A comb of course which I did not see in your bag. I like to keep a pack of tic tac (Tiny mints). My wallet is good quality and I agree this is a wise choice. A pen is essential as well as my reading glasses. Since covid I keep a baggie that holds a couple of masks in case one is required. My purses tend to be a bit smaller than yours, but I always feel that they still weigh a ton. Loved the video.
Hi! You are right its good to have a lovely pen . It does elevate your handwriting and it inspires you to write. TY for recommending mont blanc. Ill try it. 😘for me i love to containerized my stuff together by using small pouches with same color but different textures-.. when i open my purse it feels organized and inspiring as well. - make up pouch ( mac lipstick, travel size perfume, small comb, oil blotting paper)- , tech/gift card pouch (where i also put my pen and small sticky pad) cellphone, ipad and of course wallet
You can practically use that bag for carry on or an overnighter. OT: In Canada, there is also more taxation than in the USA which pays for many benefits. Thus people think that things are "free."
The Canadians keep telling us (in the US) that healthcare is free! Everyone keeps telling us that healthcare is free everywhere! It’s not true. We may not have a great system but there is no such thing as “free.”
@@MarieAnneLecoeur Americans also pay Medicare Premiums for Medicare Insurance, plus an additional premium to a private insurance carrier. Even most Americans think Medicare is "free" ...until they hit 65 & discover the Medicare Premium! I'm just thankful to be able pay it! 🥴😏
You are a real lady. I use a Lamy pencil for writing. I use usualy a camerahandbag- smaler one. My favourite bag that I love, is my Louis Vuitton Speedy 25. My porte-monnaie is also from Louis Vuitton. Your bag ist very beautyful. I like your style!
This is a great video, Marie-Anne! Your Aspinal handbag is beautiful! Nothing can replace a good leather bag! I carry many of the items you carry. A beautiful Mont Blanc pen (&refill) - a gift from my husband when I earned my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling! Definitely a nail file! Two pair of glasses! Silver credit card/ID/Medical Insurance card case. Small wallet. Small Chanel perfume - when I've done all I can, Chanel helps! Bandaids. Keys. List of medical Rx. Aspirin, 1 prescription. And sometimes my Kindle. I almost always carry my Kindke, but it doesn't always fit in my handbag! That bsg table hsnger is a grest idea! Thanks again for sharing! 👍😀❤❤💞💞
Bonjour Marie-Anne. I love Your videos. Me and my husband goes to France every year (2 month in our caravane), so for me it's very useful to know a lot about living in France and the french style. I have learned so much from Your videos. Thank you. (And of course I always bring my lipstick and a nail file with my - every where.)
Yes, I wouldn't go anywhere without a nail file. I have a Lancôme lipstick (discontinued) that actually works with any color. Hard to believe, but it's true. It's a magic lipstick. I have two and one of them is always in my bag, in case I forget to put the one I put on at home in my bag. I will be very, very sad when they're both used up. I've had them for years and they're as fresh as new. xo~linda
Chere Marie-Anne, I loved the YSL “LeCoeur”! And all the little cases - you are a woman after my own heart! Here is something you will enjoy. When my sister visited Japan for work (where there are not many trees...), she said no lady would leave home without a handkerchief in her handbag. I have always made sure to have one ever since. It has been a towel when the dispenser is empty, a napkin in the park; you can wipe your glasses in a pinch, or tie it around your neck if it suddenly gets chilly. Now - a makeshift mask. Thanks for sharing your lovely taste and philosophy.
Love all the items that fit in your large tote! I carry several items to work - but I don't have a nice leather bag, I have a heavy cloth bag with a zipper, and it has outside pouches for things - this is important because I carry a bottle of water, and a protein shake, on the outside. I also have hand sanitizer, and a small spray bottle of water and essential oil that I can spray on my face to refresh myself. Inside the bag, I carry my wallet, some hand cream, some breath mints, a mask, my laptop which is in a lightweight cloth bag, and my phone. I also may have a protein bar, and maybe a yogurt too! I carry food to work because I need to eat during the day and want something healthy. I need to start carrying a journal too, to write down ideas.
Loved this video! I don’t know what the “bad luck” is in Mexico but in Romania if you leave your handbag on the floor the saying is that is where your fortune will be - on the ground. Like literally it will cause you to lose money.
Vivian S. ~ In South Louisiana, USA, my Acadian French mom never allowed us to open an umbrella indoors! Even today, if I need to air out my umbrella to dry - I place it open on my porch only.
Tammy Woods I knew about not opening umbrellas indoors but it’s definitely something I learned from friends or somewhere, not from my mother or grandmothers. But boy, if you want to hear the “old country” superstitions - I’d need a month!! I’m a little embarrassed to admit I still follow most of them though - just in case!! Including the umbrella one!!
Marie-Anne Lecoeur i live in the US - but I was conceived in Paris and my family is from Romania. Fun fact - my youngest son was also conceived in Paris! Twenty years ago this very weekend!
Such an honest "what's in the bag video". Love how you keep everything so practical. If I may suggest marie-ann, sometime give a try to Dior rouge 999 shade. I have a feeling it will look really good on you. That is, if you have not already tried it.❤
Hello Marie Anne! In the past months, a long time really, I stopped viewing your videos. Today, I saw your video and I am happy you are back! Missed you!
Oh my, your handbag is like Dr Who's tardis! I must admit l carried the same when l was working. Now l carry the same minus the Laptop and tablet. I am trying to downsize, l have even purchased 2 smaller purses. Love your Aspinal items xx
Well, since you ask... I should tell you I teach guitar or you may be confused! Currently in my bag I have a portable foot stool, a nail file for my right hand and a nail file for my left hand, hand cream, card holder, three lip products, a mirror, hairbrush, hair elastics, about three music books, tissues and hand sanitiser. Glasses too, the opposite issue to yours. I’ve never seen anything like your handbag hook before! I’m always interested in what you tell us about living in France, as in the “bigger picture” of your life there. 🙂
Tammy Woods I’m teaching classical guitar students so we don’t use picks but I would have them if I taught electric guitar for example. I look as far away from a rock guitarist as you could get though! Wrong image! 😄
Bonjour Marie Anne, I love this video. What fun, thank you for sharing what is in your handbag. I didn't see an emergency kit though. Band aids, aspirin, etc.Have you thought about including one? Love your items.
I have a small purse with cards and cash, my keys, a small phone, sometimes my small tablet, tissues, a small pouch for my driving licence and a small zipped pouch for all the little bits and pieces like a tiny sewing kit, tape measure for clothes shopping, mirror, nail file, comb, pills and pens. I never used to have lots of handbags, but now I have a few and the little zipped pouch makes it easy to swap over to another bag. I need to have cross body bags because I use a wheelchair or mobility scooter and the bag is then more secure when my hands are busy.
Marie-Anne- Wow- your wallet opens to an overview of real life in France: "social" security, personal security- all good! Keep life in balance with style! Stay safe & well! 🍀❤🗼
Bonjour Marie Anne Wow what a Big bag i would use it for travel but I did use a bigger bag a few years ago my reason for the change is my Husband he started to put his stuff in my bag like it was a shared itemLOL and now I use a pouch that has organization in it and for my wallet a little card one an I do carry a fingernail file that fits in the card wallet I have my id my insurance card and credit cards it can hold cash as well In my pouch I have lipstick mints the biggest iPhone and my keys it also has RFID that’s my everyday go to when I go to church I take a proper handbag. I can do pretty much everything with my phone for our business so no need for a laptop I only use that at home Merci for sharing 💕
I love this post, thank you for sharing your handbag "secrets"! And I totally forgot about handbag hooks, thank you for the reminder, sooo practical. And the Clinique Raspberry Pop must join my lip color inventory. XOXO
You are delightful, Marie-Anne! I enjoyed seeing your lovely handbag and its contents. Now I know what I am missing - a handbag hook and an elegant pen. Of course, I usually have four lipsticks at once. (They seem to congregate there.) In addition, I carry a powder compact to take down any shine, especially in warmer months. Have a great weekend!
beautiful, beautiful, both handbag and the content, Marie-Anne.... I would love to know in which language do you write in your style journal? English or French?
It was very fun to see what you keep in your handbag! I carry my phone, earbuds, wallet, sunglasses, glasses, sunscreen, lip gloss, eye drops, a foldable brush with a mirror, hair tie, foldable hat, a snack, and a very small bottle of water. That way if I am out and about and get thirsty, I have water right there. Then I just refill it at the nearest water fountain or fawcet.
What a good idea the handbag hook for the table. I always carry the handkerchief and Emery board and a spare pair of tights also my small perfume, lipstick compact mirror
I don't use handbags, but what I use is a convertible leather crossbody bag which I can change to a handbag. I've been using it since 2011 hehe and what I have in my bag never changed since then, alcohol, 2-3 colors of lipstick, paper towels, phone, charger, earphones, wallet, scissors, lighter, a pen, a book, sunglasses and facial cleanser. It doesn't make sense much what's in it haha!
You're very organised. I like big bags but often tend to put too many things in it which makes it too heavy to carry. I don't like to put my bag on the floor either. It's a big no no with me. ❤
My purse is pretty full. I always carry tissues, because I never know when I might need to blot a few tears, happy or sad. I always have some mint-flavored chewing gum to freshen my breath when I can’t brush my teeth. I have my phone, a calendar, my eyeglasses, a mirror, some lipstick, my wallet, some pens, and more!
Ingenious carrying your pen in a case. I love Rotring pens, I was gifted a Rotring years ago and stopped using any other pen. I keep one at work, one in my bag, and one at home and simply refill them. But it never occurred to me to keep it in a case, which keeps you from fishing around for it in the bag. :) I thought the bag hanger was a tape measure! Since I sew all my clothes, I keep a tiny tape measure in a stainless steel case in my bag so I can measure fabrics and other items in the fabric stores. I can't wait to make a pen case. 👍 Thank you for sharing your bag with us. :)
Oh my goodness Marie-Ann, that took me back to the days when I was working. Mine was similar to yours although I carried my keys with mine and always a spare pair of tights. Now I have a pair packed away in my vehicle as my everyday bag is much smaller. Thank you also for showing your bag holder for the table, you have reminded me that somewhere!? I too have one of those. 🤔 x
Marie-Anne Lecoeur Bonjour Marie-Ann. I am so disappointed to have missed your video this evening. For some reason our internet decided to give up which was so frustrating. I am sure that one day when you know the time is right, you will retire. I retired two years ago and and my husband retired last March. Not that he thinks that he has, as he has been so busy he is still waiting for retirement to start, but as I have said many tines, ‘Everything comes to those who wait and work for it’. In the meanwhile enjoy what you are doing in the knowledge that you are helping and making a lot of ladies very happy. You really are much appreciated. 😘 x
My son gave me a little Chanel mirror with a pack of blotting papers more than 10 years ago,so I always keep it in my makeup bag. It has a crack in the glass, from my sweet little granddaughter tossing it:). I love it still!
I also carry in my purse a little purse with eye drops, teeth brush and paste, hand cream, day cream, Advil, wipes to clean glasses, and a tiny Gabrielle Chanel perfume, also carry a hair brush, a clip for my hair, mirror, reading glasses, sun glasses, 2 or 3 pens, makeup, Kleenex, wallet, earphones, phone, charger for my phone, keys, the book I am reading now ( Serotonine by M. Houellebecq), a little notepad and sometimes my IPad.
Such an interesting video Marie-Anne your such a lovely lady😍 I always carry a nailfike in my bag as you say it's always when your wearing tights you catch your nail!😕 I also carry a pic of my hubby & son in my purse 😄 in my bag I also have a mirror lipstick small brush scent wipes tissues mints &(because of my ailment) pills . I love that handbag holder you have I think I need to seriously invest in one of those 👍😘
Hello Marie-Anne. It's always fun to see what other women carry in their handbags. Thank you for sharing. I have a hook just like yours. It also comes in handy in the restroom when there are no hooks on the stall door!! I have been known to hang my handbag around my neck if caught with no hook! I'm not about to set it on a bathroom floor! I know ....just the mental image of someone with a handbag dangling around their neck while trying to squat over a toilet...😱🤪😂🤣🤯 not a great mental image is it? That little hook can save the day! Just thought I'd pass along that little tip. 😉 💕
Haha - I thought I was the only one doing that! It is so annoying when the hook on the back of the public restroom door is missing. It seems that happens a lot.
I carry my Tory Burch zipped wallet which is long enough to include a lovely slim pen inside it. So helpful. I also carry ear buds for my iPhone in a business card case. Fits perfectly. A small Kent hairbrush I got in London. My reading glasses and a pair of Cocoon sunglasses. The best for keeping out sun from all sides and designed so you can wear them over over regular glasses. A small pack of tissues, Nivea lip balm, and keys. I change my purse everyday so I am constantly cleaning out all those scraps of paper we collect. Free health care doesn’t exist.
Thanks a lot! I would be interested in a video about the contents of a clutch. A lot has to go with it, space is limited ... Right now we're getting ready for the opera - and I had exchanged my large purse (like yours) for something much smaller.
It's so funny to me, Marie-Anne, how alike my favorite purse and contents are to yours! Mine is RL, and like you, I love the 2 zippered side compartments as opposed to the single center one I only seem to find these days. And I totally agree with you, it pays in the long run to buy good quality, because I am so rough on bags and wallets that cheap ones just break on me within months. I also carry tissues, mints, a very small hairspray, a little more makeup, a pic-like comb because it's flat, a small pill box, and I keep my ear pods in a cute little hard case I found at an office supply store recently. I saw one online in leather that I'm thinking about. I also am able to fit the smallest Totes umbrella in there, along with a case with sunglasses. I am like a girl scout, always wanting to be prepared, so I carry a very small swiss army knife that has the sharpest scissors. I vary between the compartments and the center pocket for documents. I found this purse toward the end of my working career and I could have really used it all along. Of course I use others like it, but this one with the 2 side zippered compartments is my absolute favorite for days when I am doing errands. Enjoyed your video as usual!
Dear Marie-Anne, you are such a lovely lady! My iPad cover is the same as yours! I also wear Russian red and I have a special pen! I always enjoy your videos!
Hello Marie-Anne 🌸 I saw your blouse In different videos . Its so beautiful , do you mind telling where you bought it ? Many thanks for all your advices , i learned so much from you .
Thank you for sharing this personal style and insight into French life. I'm not at all surprised that you are so organised! Beautiful, practical, good quality bag and purse. I have a Radley purse which was a Christmas present about 7 years ago, I use it every day and love it. It's a little worn now, but I will get a couple more years out of it! Good quality leather goods are worth the investment in my opinion. Love your lipstick collection, I like the Clinique colour pop lipsticks too. I always carry a nail file, handcream and tissues too. I also carry my reading glasses and, living in the UK, an umbrella!!! 🤣👍🤣
Your bag is like Mary Poppins's! There's everything in there! I always carry a bag hook too. I live in Spain so I thought it was something from here. I got it at a communion and I thought it was a really original gift for the ladies. I never carry a tablet as I don't need it for work but I do carry my e-reader for when I have some extra time and that way I can read my book. An elegant pen, a nail file, wet wipes, a small perfume and lipstick are essentials too. My hand cream stays in the glove compartment of the car. I think in general we carry too much stuff around because lately my left shoulder has been a little bit sore and I'm sure it's because of my heavy bag. Maybe we should be more careful and try to take a bare minimum. A cross body strap is probably a good idea too. I might have to try it. Thanks for another great video!
I carry nail clippers and not a nail file. Also, your bag, wallet and pen are brand new compared to mine. I keep my things going as long as possible because they would only go into the landfill if I tossed them. Finally, your bag and wallet are very smart.
Wonderful handbag, Marie Anne! But looks heavy with all the contents. Since I often take public transport in New York, I use something very small and lightweight, with good security. It must have a zipper pocket outside to access Metro cards. (I often pack a fold up tote for shopping.) It has a cell phone compartment, a place for money and one credit card. I hope my makeup lasts all day, so I don’t carry any with me. I use Pilot pens only. I have lost too many expensive ones. A few keys and that’s it!
Those products look amazing!!! I actually don’t think their price are too expensive for their quality, I just check their website, they should sponsor you, I’m not rich by any means but living in NYC and always rather classic, timeless and durable, high quality items, I know what they can cost, so they’re a good value.
As for what I have in my handbag ... I use a mini backpack so I can keep my hands and shoulders free. I generally have several notebooks, my pen case, and my Hobonichi planner in its zip case. Other than that, I carry various things for the tasks of the day: game notebook and dice on game days, writing notebooks for my coffee shop visits, and so on. I don't carry anything sensitive in my bag except for my Hobonichi (and even with my Hobonichi, I am careful about the information it stores). I live in a country where I needn't carry car registration with me everwhere. I do carry a wallet (a business card case, actually) that has my government-issued id card, various shopping cards, and receipts. That wallet stays in my pants pocket where I can keep an eye on it! My folding reading glasses and case, no bigger than a zippo lighter, go in another pocket. A cloth men's handkerchief goes in a rear pocket. My cell phone is in a velcro holster case on my belt. My keys clip to a metal loop threaded onto my belt, and slip into my front pocket to keep the noise down. I manage to stash a tiny notebook and a pen somewhere in my pockets. Everything I need is on my person. My mini-backpack only carries the nice-to-have extra things. I learned my lesson a long time ago after I absentmindedly left my purse behind in public in restaurants and malls: as much as possible, never carry anything in a purse or bag that you cannot afford to lose. Of course, if I'm not wearing my pants (usually cargo pants) and am wearing a skirt, I actually have to carry a real purse and then I pare things down to wallet, phone, notepad and pen, and I wear (instead of carry) the purse as much as possible. I prefer the Baggalini brand purses: they have many organizing pockets built in, have long cross-body straps, and are in a chic/elegant nylon fabric that goes with everything. (But really, I prefer wearing my cargo pants. I have found a brand that looks trim, dresses up or down, and comes in classic colors that go well with everything.)
Marie-Anne Lecoeur Bonjour! I find the Hobonichi in the A6 size is perfect for recording information when I am on errands and away from my desk. Its small size makes it easy to carry everywhere. However, I have another planner in a larger size, roughly A5, that I use as a day-to-day planner. It has more room for lists, tracking habits, drawing, and so on. I transfer notes and appointments from my Hobonichi to my planner. ^_^
Marie-Anne Lecoeur it's not really a question of which is better, because it would be like comparing apples and oranges. I use the Hobonichi and my planner differently. ^_^
I have a small bag of items I tranafer from one bag to another including medication and my Epi pen. I always keep a pair of matching leather gloves in each of my handbags and have just bought a rejuvenating cream for a beautiful navy leather bag, by Guy Laroche that I bought from a charity shop for under £5. Looks as good as new now. Love a bargain.
Hi Marianne, I converted the contents of my written notebook to Google Keep on iCloud, so I always have my notes, whether on my iPhone or iPad. I’m not sure if my Macbook also has this feature, I rarely use it; I prefer my iMac desktop at home.
I just bought a very similar Kate Spade bag for travel, primarily. It has the side zippers and a large area in the middle. For anything small and loose, I have a mesh zippered bag so nothing will fly out when the tote gets tilted a bit. I try to keep any tote or purse, as light as possible.
Goodness Madame that colour suits you. Just lovely. My husband always said, i could probably be stranded on a deserted island for 3 day's with everything that I carry in my handbag. 😂 Oh can I give you a small tip. I always carry my journal with me too so I know where I'm supposed to be each day. But I put an elastic hair tie vertically on my journal and my pen slips into the top of the journal horizontally so I always have them both together and the hair tie keeps it all together.
Love the handbag. Thank you for sharing. I like the idea of the pen case. No accident from an open pen.
I LOOOVE your bag!! I wouldn't even mind carring it around empty. A bag like that, changes your entire look!
@@MarieAnneLecoeur And gourgeos and elegant too! You allways look sooo beautiful! 😍😍
Your handbag is lovely. The felt cover for your laptop is really a super idea. Think I will get myself one. I take my laptop with me a lot.
I have heard that also, and I avoid it whenever possible. That said, I am not placing a bag I spent $1000.00 on the dirty floor!!!😉
@@tamiewert808 Handbag holder is the answer
@@TRWoods914 Apparently. My mother always used a handbag holder and that was what they did in those days. My dad was a poliitician and they were always off to functions. I think that it is great that such a product is now available again. It also keeps it clear of any spillages
I too thought it was OK to put an elegant sparkly evening clutch on the table but I know better now thank you
I’ve been binge watching your style, Marie-Anne! Je t’adore! I’ve learned so much. Merci beaucoup !!
XP
@@MarieAnneLecoeur OH YES! I get cross and carry on cranky if I can't write something or doodle something every day in my journal or notebooks. ^_^
I bought a purse hook in Paris last year. They are so beautiful.
A love your purse and wallet! Very beautiful. I also agree with you on how you should have nice quality wallet and purse. I have a wallet that I have used so much (about 8 years now) and it is still in great shape. Have a lovely weekend :)
Oh my God. That handbook hanger is BOSS! 💗
Merci Marie-Anne! XOXO
I keep a journal/diary/agenda too Marie-Anne. I just love to write everything down and I do it with my beautiful gold Cartier pen. Love 🥰
What a beautiful bag! Thanks for sharing- I love everything you own :)
Hello Marie Anne Have a wonderful weekend . I so enjoyed this video really enjoyed seeing what you carry throughout your day .
@@vtcs1963 Even the "free" lunch is not free.
I agree nothing is free, someone somewhere always pays
You are so organized and you have a very pragmatic elegance. I love your style . Thank you for socializing your ways of doing.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur And a partridge in a pear tree❗😯❤
Merci, you have inspired me to organize my handbag. The purse hanger is genius!
I absolutely love the Russian red lipstick, such a beautiful shade, it goes lovely with your dark hair
Love the handbook hook. LOL. so innovative and practical.

I watch you more and more and I really appreciate your so neat and natural personality. Thank you for being so authentic !
@@MarieAnneLecoeur you bet !!
Agree 100%
My bag is a Karl Lagerfeld dark red that my youngest son gave me for my birthday. I also use that bag to travel.
That is, if you have not already tried it.❤
In the US, your "handbag" would be called a "tote" because of its large size, but no matter what we call it, it looks quite stylish.
+ an old fashioned embroidered handkerchief, just because I like them and a Tidestick for stains.
Nancy Ferrier ~ Oh, I adore both vintage and new embroidered handkerchiefs. I collect them.💓
Nancy Ferrier I sometimes tie a vintage handkerchief or small scarf to the handle of my bag.

Beautiful bag. Love the colour. Lovely essentials. Great video as always.
I love the cultural differences you point out between Mexico France and England and America and yes I always have a nail file thanks for a great video
Lol I love Dr Who!!! The bag is bigger on the inside!!!!😂
Karen Setchfield ~ How sweet is that. Do you carry guitar picks? My brother keeps them in his pockets.🎶
Tammy Woods I’m teaching classical guitar students so we don’t use picks but I would have them if I taught electric guitar for example. I look as far away from a rock guitarist as you could get though! Wrong image! 😄
@Karen Setchfield ~ I adore classical guitar. I was always told that Andres Segovia was the best, but I’m no expert. That is awesome! ❤️
Small? Wow! What kind? You get a lot in it for a small bag! Well done!👍
I LOVE you videos, Marie Anne! Thank you! So much fun

Bonjour Marie Anne Wow what a Big bag i would use it for travel but I did use a bigger bag a few years ago my reason for the change is my Husband he started to put his stuff in my bag like it was a shared itemLOL and now I use a pouch that has organization in it and for my wallet a little card one an I do carry a fingernail file that fits in the card wallet I have my id my insurance card and credit cards it can hold cash as well
In my pouch I have lipstick mints the biggest iPhone and my keys it also has RFID that’s my everyday go to when I go to church I take a proper handbag. I can do pretty much everything with my phone for our business so no need for a laptop I only use that at home

Love the pen holder, great idea, and the rosegold i-pad looks very elegant. My absolute go to pen is the yellow Bic pens in any colour ink
Thank you for telling us about the social security taxes! And for including links to products. ❤️
What a good idea the handbag hook for the table. I always carry the handkerchief and Emery board and a spare pair of tights also my small perfume, lipstick compact mirror
I loved this video! just lovely! handbag, contents, everything! I have a nail file and a purse hook!
Purse hooks make great gifts, too.
You're very organised. I like big bags but often tend to put too many things in it which makes it too heavy to carry. I don't like to put my bag on the floor either. It's a big no no with me. ❤
so many things....tant de choses si bien organisées- thank You for sharing this intimate part of your life!
Thank you very much for your videos. They are always very helpful. Best wishes from Germany.
Love the pen and case....still watching.... just a little note....

Bonjour Marie-Ann.

Marie-Anne, You are such a gem. I see many people try to give french chic advice, and you are the top!
Thanks a lot!
I would be interested in a video about the contents of a clutch. A lot has to go with it, space is limited ... Right now we're getting ready for the opera - and I had exchanged my large purse (like yours) for something much smaller.
Love your look of minimal makeup combined with red lipstick 💄

Beautiful handbag! Love the color!
Marie-Anne Lecoeur thank you for asking.^_^ Merci!
Oh can I give you a small tip. I always carry my journal with me too so I know where I'm supposed to be each day. But I put an elastic hair tie vertically on my journal and my pen slips into the top of the journal horizontally so I always have them both together and the hair tie keeps it all together.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur A tip borne from necessity Madame lol, i was always mislaying my pens 😄
I have seen you wear that beautiful blouse a few times , I'm on the look for a similar one 🥰
@@MarieAnneLecoeur ohh thank you , I will have a look ❤
