Hi Marie Anne from the UK.... Woolite is quite expensive in our supermarkets but I always wash cashmere sweaters in Woolite.... Its worth spending that little bit extra to look after these expensive but so luxurious items.
Thank you so much for this information! Love the top that you are wearing. I use baby shampoo instead of woolite. I have used it on all my cashmere sweaters. It does work well
I like having a large-capacity tank steamer, with an extra-long hose. I steam most of my knit garments, and it’s fast, I don’t have to refill the tank after each.
Oh my gosh, you made me feel so good because I am very fond of using all of these items! However for my delicates I use Perlana because we do not get Woolite in Malta - as far as I know. I keep my silver jewellery in plastic containers and they the shine lasts longer.

Always carry a safety pin for those times when a hem comes loose. Also: tailor's ham and tailor's sausage. Ideal for ironing sleeves and other curved items. (I made mine)
Cordless Iron, Stergene wool, wash, sellotape if you don't have a lint roller, water spray and hairdryer if you don't have a steamer, clean silver jewellery with baco foil line a basin and melt washing soda, fill with warm water. Immerse jewellery for 5 minutes, rinse and dry with cloth.
Iron and woolite is a must for me. I cannot wear my clothes unless it is nicely pressed (including jeans). Woolite saves me from buying more clothes. It keeps the color of my clothes as if I just bought it. Nice video Marie-Anne!
Add hangers with clips for denim and other cotton pants. I don't put these in the clothes dryer and they last SO much longer. Plus I save electricity! I let bras air dry, too. Also: Shout or other stain removing towelette for office or travel!
I totally agree about owning a mannequin! 👌 I studied visual merchandising a couple of years ago and shortly after, I spotted a mannequin in Guineys in Dublin for only 40 euro! 😀 I couldn't leave without it and my mother thought I was crazy carrying it on the four hour bus journey home but I just couldn't resist buying it. 😆 Best decision ever. I use it to plan outfits and display my favourite pieces. An investment purchase! 👌
The lint remover is a must, must have! I hate when sweaters get those little balls. I didn’t know about the cloth for cleaning silver. I have a lot of sterling silver jewelry so I am definitely getting it! Thank you for the tips!
Hi Marie Anne. I agree with you. I have everyone of those 10 items. The one extra item I find very useful and could not do without is an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. I keep mine set up in the utility room so that I can easily drop my jewelry in the basket for 2-5 minutes. My jewelry pieces look amazing after being cleaned.
I really enjoy your videos. I have two comments. Both comments relate to prevention to damage on jewelry or clothing. For example, try not to spill food/drink on your clothing. Do not wash your hands while wearing your beautiful jewelry. Try not dry your clothes completely in the drier. I found that if I dry my clothes too much, it damages the fibers.
I think boot trees are a good investment to maintain the shape of knee high boots. Keeps them from falling over in the closet as well. Excellent video as usual, Marie-Anne. I have a version of all the products you featured except the battery operated lint remover. I have a small manual hand held one I've had for years, but may purchase the one you recommend.
I roll up newspaper or some other large paper and put it in the leg part of the boots. Keeps them up and being paper, I like to think that maybe it also absorbs some moisture too
I changed from Woolite and Woolite Dark to products from The Laundress. They are super concentrated, smell wonderful, and do not contain harsh chemicals. They have formulas for wool, delicates, darks, etc, as well as freshening spray, wrinkle relaxers, and stain lifters. Everything I have purchased is excellent and lasts ages. And they have great sales.
The items are definitely useful to everyone. I do have the mannequin based on your suggestion when I first started watching your channel (I was under the Italian Parisian I wanted all my social accounts to have the same moniker 🤗) I added the hand steamer, the bags, and lint remover to my list. I use two Woolite products that I need. One is Woolite for dark color and the at home dry cleaning. I put the original Woolite in my cart. Really enjoyed your video 💗
Agree with everything except the lint roller. The roller leaves a residue on the fabric which attracts even more lint! Use a reusable lint brush instead (I have a chihuahua too!).
We don't have Amazon where I live, but I have already all the items you mentioned. Only my steam iron is not with it's own steam container. My manequin I made myself at a class, and it have my exact mesurements, and I also have another two. This is due to I make a lot of my clothes myself. I am short, but not slim, so all clothes I buy will have too long armes, legs etc, and be to wide at the shoulders when they fit at the hip. Right now I am in the prosess of making a pair of brown jeans for the winter. And I have just ordered another item I will use when steaming my clothes; a mitton to have on the other hand when steaming, it's easy to get some hot steam on the hand that holds the garment.
Great list 😊 I count on all of these same items as well. As a seamstress, I could not be without my excellent iron and steamers. I have the small hand held steamer for quick fixes and also a floor model for larger jobs. The hand held steamer is handy when traveling. One item in your list that I don’t have is the silver cleaning cloth. I will be looking for one. An item I would not be without is boot trees for my high boots. They really make a difference in maintaining the shape of the boot material. Also, I keep a box of all of my footwear care items up to date - brushes, cloths, polish, cleaning and protection sprays, etc. I can’t stand scruffy shoes or boots and with our weather it is a constant upkeep 😅
Great video Marie-Anne, yesterday I was looking at the velvet hangers in the shop and said to myself I might add them to my wardrobe in the future. Glad you showed us your iron and all the bits that make your clothes look so presentable.
I received my style journal today, Aug 4 2021. I am inspired, by the text and by the quotations from famous style icons. I will be writing in it toute suite!
I love what you're wearing. Very chic and elegant. In both my wardrobes I have only black velvet hangers. The only exception to this are my skirt hangers. I'm very particular with my clothes, if I'm paying a lot of money for my clothing it's only sensible to make sure it's looked after correctly.
Ann item named “Wrapture. “, which is for delicate cashmere; you just put your cashmere soak in it with cold water, no-rinse, air dry. Fantastic product for my Lora Piana’s scarfs and sweaters 😍
I wouldn't be without my sweater shaver, either. I wouldn't be without my lint rollers. I have a cat, so her hair is a problem. Especially when she rubs against my legs. I love my mesh bags, especially the ones for my bras. I will not wash anything by hand that I don't have to. I use Woolite. I use velour hangers for my off season clothes. I have a very large coat closet. I use half of it for my coats and jackets and the other half for my off season clothes, so I need to conserve space. I use padded satin hangers in my walk-in closet and I don't have to conserve space in it. I need the silver jewelry cloth. I use a spray protector for my suede items, but I also have one for my leather items. xo~linda
Cute dogs! Another fab video. I have or have had all these things (need a new travel steamer as previous one just got too old!) I would add: clear shoe/handbag balm/polish that can be used on shoes and handbags, to treat, nourish, protect. Nail files, tweezers, nail clippers, and one for toenails. I have always had a sewing kit, needle, thread, good sizzors, safety pins, and including crochet hooks for any snags. Much prefer the lint remover that is like a velcro on a handle (on one way, off the other) instead of sticky. A wooden shoe brush and a wooden clothes brush. Clear nail varnish. Optional: a pair of cotton gloves as needed to handle delicates that can snag. CEDER MOTH BALLS or equivalent, good quality moth repellant in drawers to keep cashmeres protected. From time to time, depending on the dresser, I use good quality paper scented drawer liners. I have a few shoe trees for special shoes, the half size kind that go in the front part of the shoe to keep the shape - somehow these feel more easy to handle and more feminine than whole shoe 'trees'. Love Woolite, sometimes can't find it and have purchased others...... they are ok. Voila! Merci Marie-Anne for great videos and great content. 🙏
H Marie-Ann I have most of your 10 items (not silver cleaner I am allergic to metal) one I would recommend is a boot shaper to make sure when storing they keep their shape.
I love my Woolite and use it weekly. I must admit, I sew so I couldn’t be without my ironing tools such as my seam roll, my ham and a sleeve board, of course along with my ironing board. It makes such a difference to your ironing especially blouses. Give them a try, they are inexpensive
Fabulous!! Care of clothing is so important. These must haves enable the user to extend the life and look of ones clothing. One must have of mine that was not mentioned is a lit make up mirror. Using my steamer has helped me to refresh an item that became creased in my closet. Looking well groomed doesn't just happen it takes work. Truly loved this video.
I use croché needles in different sizes to use to pull back in a snag in a sweater or knit. I just catch the snag from the inside of the garment and pull gently to the inside. It will stay there and will be invisible on the outside.
Agree with all items, great video! I use a polish cloth for my silver too and store it in small cloth pouches that tie shut to try and prevent too much tarnishing between wearing the items. The less air the better.
I have the bags for the whashing machine & the silver shining cloth , adding the others to my list ! Your videos are a real inspiration to transform my 61 old newself! Mercy◇
I simply could not live without a lint remover. I use it daily on so many things, not just clothing. I recently had to replace one I'd had for 30yrs with a Conair I found on Amazon. I have lint removers everywhere...at home, in my car and at the office. I did the laundry earlier today and used 2 laundry bags. I have them is so many sizes, mainly white but also a few black. I use Woolite. Upgraded to velvet hangars last yr...more room in my closet and less dust as well. I have used a silver polishing cloth but recently found Weiman Silver Wipes which are way better and also clean gold, brass and stones. My Escada watch looks like I just bought it. It's one of the most amazing products I've ever purchased! BTW...I adore your outfit...stunning cut and colors!
I have found mesh bags are so useful for 2 reasons: protecting the garment and #2 it reminds me I have something I do not want put into the dryer, especially if my husband is helping with laundry.
I use most of those items. For me also are silica gel packets/moisture absorbers for my shoe boxes and drawers. It’s very humid near the coast. Molds are a problem here in summer.
Lint Rollers https; Mesh Laundry Bags; Woolite Fabric Wash; Velvet Hangers; Silver Polishing Cloth; Suede & Nubuck Waterproof Spray, I use all of those. I ordered the Lint Remover / Clothes Shaver, it was exactly I was looking for my sweaters. I have to explore more about Handheld Clothes Steamer. Thanks for this video. Warm regards,
Merci! Loved this video. So important to take care of clothing as they are an investment! My list would include clear shoe wax and black polish for my leather goods; shoes, purses, etc. Also a small sewing kit for loose buttons or torn hemlines. Many blessings to you, Marie Anne!
I use Diva by Glamor Wash, because I love the lavender fragrance. It’s very light. Thanks for the wonderful tips! I love the care you give your clothes, shoes, handbags, etc.
Everything on your list is essential for me, too. I would add: my drying racks and the clothesline I put up high in my laundry room for hanging longer items to dry, and my tall laundry room fan, which cuts drying time in half, keeps clothes moving for fewer wrinkles, and I use just to freshen clothes, instead of chemical sprays. (I don’t put most clothes in my tumble dryer, but dry them flat, on hangers or my racks). Also my Magic Sizing ironing spray, it’s great for light body and so much easier to use than starch, which scorches really easily. Also, my shoe care box with polishes for every color, cleaning supplies, leather treatments, and materials for polishing and buffing. I love my clothes and accessories and enjoy taking care of them, even ironing, except when it’s hot.
I make my own laundry detergent. 1/2 cup of washing soda, 1/2 cup of borax, 1/2 cup of Blue Dawn in a jug. Fill with water. It works great. I put the washing soda and borax together in a food processor to get out the lumps. I use a funnel to put one cup of that mixture in the jug, add water and shake then add the 1/2 cup of Blue Dawn and fill to the top with water. Washing soda I buy at the Healthy Planet. If I can't get it in time, I bake baking soda for 2 hours in a 350 degree oven to make it into washing soda. There you have a couple of years of experience. Save money!
A must have for me is a clothes detergent that has no dyes or is made especially for dark clothes.....this keeps those dark clothes dark a bit longer than those strong ones that remove stains.
I really like most of these too. I don’t have a hand held steamer yet but it’s on my list if we are ever let out of lockdown long enough to go shopping in actual shops again.
I can’t live without down wash (Miele), colour dye absorbing sheets, Dr. Beckmann stain remover & * #Eucalan for woollens* 🐑 #LeatherHoney 🐝 is magnificent leather care I bought an inexpensive sonic jewelry cleaner. My jewelry & glasses are sooo clean 🧼
If you don't have/can't find your silver cleaning cloth, foundation will remove tarnish from silver jewellery. I put a drop on a tissue or cotton pad, a quick rub and rinse et voila. Shiny as new.
Excellent list! I put an extra point roller in my car so that I can get rid of any stray hairs that my kids or husband have gotten in the car or any stray hairs that have been pulled by my purse or seat belt. I would also add a dressing gown to the list. I have long hair, and if I brush my hair without protecting the outfit I'm going to wear out, I get stray hairs all over it that don't show up at hair because they work themselves out of the ends. I don't know why, but I get embarrassed to have hair (pets' or my own) on me. I think it makes my clothing look dirty.
I have everything but the steam iron and the velvet hangers. I absolutely hate the process of having to get out and put away an ironing board. It must be put away, as I live in a studio apartment. If I had a room that could be solely dedicated to it, that would be different. I have to say, that steam iron you showed looked amazing. I am content with my hand held steamer though. I love my clothes shaver. Thank you, these were all great suggestions!
These were really good and practical suggestions, Marie Anne. I have most of these already. I definitely want to try the hangers. Oh! I would add to the list a good full length mirror. IDK how many times I plan an outfit in my mind, put it on, look in the mirror and realize it's a huge faux pas.
Never leave the house without checking what you look like from behind! I even bought a full-length mirror to hang on the wall at my office. So it fell off the wall and broke. Seven years' bad luck? It sure seemed like it, starting the very weekend it broke. I bought a replacement mirror and just leaned that one against the wall.
When your polishing cloth gets full of tarnish stains, consider switching to ... toothpaste! As long as it's not the gel type of toothpaste it will clean your silver like new in seconds, without scratching it and is completely non-toxic.
Marie-Anne! It’s been awhile since I’ve been on RUclips and it was fun watching your video! Is that lovely lady in the background picture you? How darling 🤩. Be well my French 🇫🇷 friend 🤗
Marie-Anne, I had a Rowenta that was not the cheaper version at $40-50 of today which was very good but when it went bad, I replaced with a Shark which is a dream to iron with. It is a steam iron but I don’t like it like that so as long as I put it on the right setting it does the job really quickly with no effort and the best part is that if it is left on the piece it shuts off within secs. All who take your things to the cleaners, beware (in the US, if someone who does the cleaning likes something it “gets lost”) where you take it. I mean develop a relationship with a dry cleaner establishment and you will get your things back.I use the lint roller, sweater shaver, I use better hangers (nothing from the stores - that is my pet peeve) but since I live in Tx we have no use for Woolite (whatever needs special cleaning it says on the label what needs to be done).
Cedar shoe trees for my best shoes. A bib apron to protect what I'm wearing while I cook or clean up the kitchen. Attractive linen or cotton napkins to go in my lap while I'm dining, in case a tiny sliver of lettuce drops on my skirt, or if I see a drop of sauce fell onto my bosom.
Use all of these with the exception of a mannequin. I’m very picky about preservation of what I wear and how I clean and store items. Pilling of garments just makes them seem tired and worn and I love the battery powered lint remover item, works so well.
I’ve had terrible experiences with Woolite and Woolite dark, both damage and fade silk clothing in one use. I like Perwoll delicates formula much better, but I have to get it from Amazon, US retailers don’t carry it.
Vous êtes si inspirante! Je suis de Montréal and of course as cousins I love everything about France! I just subscribed to your channel, I’m 47 and I’m just starting to explore more about fashion, so much to learn. I own 1or 2 item listed🙈
I love my tiny crochet hooks -- 1.30-1.55 mm -- for pulling through the occasional snagged yarn or thread instead resorting to scissors. (Another comment, s'il vous plaît: when ordering, please search for alternatives to Amazon -- merci! :)

Marie-Anne - - You are wonderful, and I love everything about your channel!!
Your lovely sense of class and style, your bubbly attitude, your humor, and your being so positive and “ real”!
France is such a beautiful place, and just listening to you speak about French style is so uplifting to me - - my “Go- to”channel for fashion tips!
C’est si bon!! Thank you!! Gayle in South Carolina
😃👍
Great idea Dawnie 😃
Keeps them up and being paper, I like to think that maybe it also absorbs some moisture too
I'm old enough to remember when the boot trees came free with the boots...Sorry now, that I only kept a couple of them..
I have used " Forever New" fabric wash for years. I use it in the washer and for hand laundry. I especially like washing my bed sheets and towels.
And you can get on Amazon
Not to mention the wonderful Terre de Sommières which wipes off greasy stains
Really enjoyed your video 💗
out of these ten things I have and always use is lint roller and Woolite! and that top you are wearing is truly beautiful Marie Anne!
Great list, Marie-Anne! I have every item you have recommended, and even have a chihuahua! 😊
Great list 😊
I count on all of these same items as well.
Add a piece of white chalk to your little bags.
Oh, thank you so much. Great advice, my dear.
Such a wonderful video Marie. Great reminders of things we may not know that we need. This is great! Thank you.
Yes! Laundry bags, I use them for most of my clothes.
I have to have my steamer it works so well especially when you're traveling. Thanks for the video as always excellent.
I love dark detergent…it keeps my blacks and navys true without fading. Adore your chihuahuas!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Woolite! I love the smell so much I even wash my sheets and towels in Woolite.
I love the little bobble remover. I hope the house move is going well
What about a sewing kit, to mend or take up hems, or repair clothing, or sew buttons , etc back on .
Marie-Anne I love your humor. Thanks for making me laugh and learn at the same time ❤❤
I really like most of these too. I don’t have a hand held steamer yet but it’s on my list if we are ever let out of lockdown long enough to go shopping in actual shops again.
I can’t live without down wash (Miele), colour dye absorbing sheets, Dr. Beckmann stain remover & * #Eucalan for woollens* 🐑
#LeatherHoney 🐝 is magnificent leather care
I bought an inexpensive sonic jewelry cleaner. My jewelry & glasses are sooo clean 🧼
If you don't have/can't find your silver cleaning cloth, foundation will remove tarnish from silver jewellery. I put a drop on a tissue or cotton pad, a quick rub and rinse et voila. Shiny as new.
The manquin idea is amazing! Never thought about it? You're just amazing! That's why I watch your Channel...🌹
Your wardrobe is so much fun!
I love my wardrobe Ms A - Style time is Play Time and so much fun 😃
I agree and I have them all.
Your top is fabulous!
Thanks so much! Happy to tell you I own everyone of those items🤩 Love you site.😍
Use all of these with the exception of a mannequin. I’m very picky about preservation of what I wear and how I clean and store items. Pilling of garments just makes them seem tired and worn and I love the battery powered lint remover item, works so well.
Thank you , another wonderful and VERY HELPFUL video.
I’ve had terrible experiences with Woolite and Woolite dark, both damage and fade silk clothing in one use. I like Perwoll delicates formula much better, but I have to get it from Amazon, US retailers don’t carry it.
Try the Laundress wool and cashmere detergent. I’m in love with it
Vous êtes si inspirante!
@@MarieAnneLecoeur Marie-Anne, one key aspect of elegance is its fully sensual nature, and Amazon has destroyed sensuality in modern life -- first, it deprived us of our bookstores, then went on to decimate all the small shops where one could encounter, explore and compare REAL goods! Pardon my rant, s'll vous plaît, but I have a visceral response to the destruction that Amazon (principal culprit) has wrought. Merci!
My favorite is the jewelry polish cleaner! An invaluable item indeed!
With 2 cats the lint roller is a must. I love my velvet hangers as well. I have been wanting a small clothes steamer for a while, ill check that one out.
Love this!! And the chihuahuas too!! ( I also have one) thank you!!!💕💕💕💕
Glad that I made it on time -- this time.
I get an Australian lanolin soap for my wools and cashmere sweaters. Keeps the strands as they grew on the animal…soft and non itchy.
LoL Getting ready to return a steamer to Amazon. No steam!
Try a brass bristle clothes brush. Fabulous!
OMG! Same here! I got most of them but not the handheld clothes steamer . I will get one soon 💃🏼 Thank you Marie-Anne 🤩
Shoe polish, shoe brushes, and polishing cloths keep shoes looking spiffy!
Merci Marie*Anne, I have them all!
I agree on all. I would also not be without a shoe care kit.
I have a mannequin because I crochet a lot of sweaters and other clothes so I like to see how my pieces will drape and look on people
Thank you Marie-Anne…. Great reminder video!! I love that dreamy gliding iron - my next purchase !!!!
I agree with you about the generator iron and steam cleaner wouldn't be without these either.
On watching the full video I have to say the only one I don't have as her are the velvet hangers but will most definitely be buying these thank you
