I enjoy watching your shows as they have made me stop and reavalute myself and my wardrobe. Since putting on that lovely menopausal weight I am steadily losing it now with healthy eating and excercise. I have just turned 61 yrs old,but inside I'm still 35 yrs old. Through listening to you I have realised that for the past nearly 10 years I have been wearing all black completely and tents,no shape and wondering why I felt so down all the time.I have always favoured the tailored look and love shoes any style, but loafers a favourite of mine.I thankyou for your help, and feel that you are very passionate at helping all us women of all sizes feel good about our selves.Thanks.Tracy.
Marie Anne , I love every single shoe you showed. I have two great weaknesses; shoes and bags! They can take a boring outfit and make it amazing. I also love vintage brooches for some reason. You are so fun and inspiring. I really love your style. It’s classy and fun.
I love ankle boots, especially those with large rubber heels! They look good with everything, skirts, dresses, pants, and they are so cute and can be really elegant (I don't think anything like Martens or military kind of boots, but nice, stylish ankle boots).
Happy to say I have all of these! But must also include a summer favourite, traditional espadrilles in white or black. Super comfortable, easy to pack and fairly cheap in price.
Chouette! I have every single shoe style in the video except ballet flats -I am short so I like to have at least a little heel. I have Chanel-style shoes and I feel very chic when I wear them. I also love the snakeskin pumps to jazz up any outfit. Living in France for 6 years made my wardrobe very simple and very French. I have a weakness for any Hermès scarf and Chanel No. 5 and 24, Faubourg are my parfums. En effet, j’ai l’esprit d’une vraie française, moi!
Shoes (and purses) are a touchy subject for me--I've collected so many over the years, some that I love and some that I never wear. It's hard to pick the best/essentials, because it would be admitting purchase mistakes made and that, in the end, being practical always wins over glamorous dreaming.
Hi Marie-Anne, I used to have at least one pair of all of these, but now due to back problems I cannot wear certain styles anymore. I do have short and tall boots, trainers in multiple colors, flats, and both nude and lizard pumps with low heels (which I also adore). I love your sling backs and had a similar pair, but after almost falling in them I had to give them up so .... but enjoy seeing you wear them in that beautiful color combination! I will live vicariously through your videos ! 😉😘
Yes, the Chanel style shoes! One of my must haves when I got rid of the cheap looking and started to dress more "chic". The loafers, flats and a basic court shoe/pump are my staples.
I am not a fan of the Oxford shoes and sneakers. However, I do appreciate the beautiful slingback and the ankle boots. The sandals and the loafers are also ideal. What a beautiful closet!:)
My favourite are definitely those patent derbies and the black ankle boots, but all of these shoes are amazing. Your 20yr old knee-high boots look new!
As a woman who is starting her wardrobe collection thank for guiding me and I didn’t know that some of style choices are French inspired I love your recommendation of shoe style and mix and matching of feminine and masculine style.
I really like 9 of these. I am not a sneaker person, I am much happier in flat loafers. I don’t have any knee high boots because in Melbourne there aren’t enough days in the year when it gets cold enough to wear them. You see ankle boots everywhere in winter but I rarely see the longer ones. I love ankle boots! Out of all the ones you showed my favourite is the ballet flats. I am a bit ashamed to say that I have 6 pairs of those. But I do wear them all.
Your shoes are beautiful. I definitely need to add a few more to my collection. Having the variety, if one can afford, definitely can dramatically change the look of an outfit. Another lovely video, thank you😊
All of my shoes ruin my outfits. I inherited my grandmother's feet and it's been highly frustrating and expensive throwing so many away that hurt. Even with orthotics my choices are very limited. Don't take it for granted if you have good feet!
I have foot issues too, but, after a few years of frustration at not being able to wear what I used to, I kind of got round it by choosing flat shoes of good quality but with thicker soles, wider in the front and well designed, and made only of natural materials. You can go for casual elegance even with these restrictions. White sneakers, flat sandals, brogues, loafers and ankle boots (flat or with very low heel) can be a great base for any outfit and all seasons. And, always try before you buy.
@@khelix23 I hear ya! I can only wear one kind of sole along with my orthotics. You hear that expression, "shoes either make or break an outfit." well, all my outfits are broken!
I have a love for red shoes. All different styles, if they are the correct red. I adore the snake print pumps. And yes, a pair of black knee high boots is a must and is in my closet. and also a nice brown pair too!
In addition to my white Superga sneakers, I have a pair of tan leather Ecco sneakers aka lace-up Oxford style. I wear the leather much more often because the soles of the Superga are a bit more gummy on the bottoms. For walking jogging or running, I use running shoes and the higher density sole with the higher stability uppers of a trail shoes or rugged thick leather hiking boots with solid rubber soles for eh-hem hiking.
Love the 20 years old Bally hi-heel black leather boots! Mine are 11 years old, in excellent condition, and are keepers! So versatile. Excellent presentation, Marie-Anne!
#11: the platform. I love platforms. Kinda '70's looking but, if they were made in Italy or Spain, they are the bomb. They allow you to be fashionable on cobble stone streets, at the park, catching a bus, etc. I'm too athletic for skinny heels and too short for ballet flats but I love my platforms. Kork-ease are decent and comfortable
I love all the shoes and boots with the exception of the masculine shoes. Love the two-tone black and white, sandals, nude pumps and the last pair of animal print pumps. Beautiful.
I have some of these but need to add the Chanel style 😍, brogues, and loafers. I decluttered my shoes and after getting rid of many tired looking shoes realized I don’t have many stylish choices. After the declutter I bought a pair of sling back low heals that I wore the next day with pin striped trousers, blazer, and blouse. It was a nice feminine look to tone down the masculine look of the trousers. Thank you for your guidance! I’m finally embracing being 60 and realizing I can still look stylish!
I've got most of the shoes you're talking about in the video. I love Converse (navy and white colours) and Superga (white linen). My favorite shoes are Weston brown leather slippers (for men) and the Django's from Sézane (leopard stilettos). Thank you for sharing tips and advices. Have a nice day.
Aw! Thank you! I can only get a few, but this really helps narrow things down. ...and i am never sure what shoes go with what outfits... like your classic approach.
Cannot agree more with you Marie! The extras are snakeskin pumps. They are as jeans and you can wear them with anything. I also love golden ballerinas with jeans, as mentioned, they do as a jewelry. Live ankle boots black ones from Furla, love various kneehigh boots from various brands, leather Zara will do as well. This season love burgundy lack leather knee high boots. Still looking for the right one.
Ooh, I have shoe envy! Good to know that I am not the only one who strokes their shoes like a piece of art ;) Ballet flats are so stylish but what can you choose if you can't wear them? I walk out of them and have to have a strap of some sort - so hard to find an alternative that doesn't look like a school shoe!
Elaine, take your shoes to a good quality shoe repair/clean/cobbler(?). I found a guy that can make ankle straps for ballet shoes or make shoes and everything in between. It's also invaluable to have someone who repairs shoes well. I walk my soles down to nothing and have him replace soles constantly. Better than replacing whole shoes.
@@karelmillard9854 I switched all my shoes into clear shoes boxes a couple years ago. I *had* to take pictures of all my shoes to place on the boxes. It was so much fun posing (petting) them. Also I found shoes I hadn't worn in years & was able to relive all the memories attached.

Great video Marie-Anne. I have all those styles accept for loafers, I’m still looking for a non slip comfy pair of those. My most versatile shoes have been my knee length black boots, they go with everything in autumn and winter. I would add another style to the list, a metallic pair of silver or gold strapped heeled sandals for evening wear in the summer months. Metallics can work like a neutral with lots of different outfits. Just keep them simple, not too many embellishments. Best wishes from Australia 🤗
I live on the beautiful tropical island of Bali. My beautiful brogues disintegrated from the heat and moisture. I kept them in my closet just so I could look at them until I cleared out everything during the covid lockdown in 2020. What I found missing from your list are espadrilles, I own 2 pair, flats and wedges. In my past life in San Fransisco I owned every pair of shoes and boots that you showed, except the snake skin pumps. Love your videos. P.S. My Grandmother was of French descent and lived in Paris during the late 50's and 60's. She brought me Chanel #5 and chain belt gifts when I was a child. She made many of her own clothes using Chanel and YSL patterns and had a mannequin customized to her proportions. xoxox J
I love all the shoes/boots you have shown Marie Ann. I personally like to wear chelsea boots in autumn and winter and my favourite veja white sneakers. I like your style especially that lovely blue scarf with a white tee. You are a very classy lady and you epitomize the timeless French chic and elegance.xx
Number 9. I have always love them. I have two pairs of them. I bought them more than 14 years ago., and I Iove the All Star blue ones. I should by them. I always though in black, but now definitely I love the blue colour.
The cutest shoes I've ever bought are peep-toe Chanel heels in black and white. Another favorite is a pair of taupe suede ankle boots. I've had a dream of ballet flats in a fun floral print--which I will *paint*. Hoping to do that project this summer!
I have a lot of those shoes already , I love the chanel slingbacks ..on my list , I love that style and colour , thank-you again , how have I missed your channel, ? its everything I love , and as a women heading to big 60 I want to stay fresh and current , love every aspect of the styles shown ❤
Wow! So happy that you practically showed my shoe collection! My favorites are the nude hill & the tall black boots. My least fav. = the darker loafer.
Great list! I cannot live without a black patent leather loafer. I rarely wear skirts, especially to the office, so these help me take basic wool pants up a notch in style!
Beautiful styles, some of which I could never wear because they have heels. Foot issues from age 21, foot surgery, orthopedics, hallux rigidus on both feet. Can only wear a flat shoe, of which style is often difficult to find. Consequently, I can only wear higher priced, well made shoes such as Naot or Dansko, sold here in California. I am a total Francophile, having spent many weeks in your beautiful country. Seven trips to Paris alone, making it feel like a second home! Love your channel
Again, the most PERFECT list of shoes to own!! I do have a hard time finding the perfect nude tone pump - I am pretty fair skinned. I'm on the hunt...As always, wonderful selection!
Wonderful! AND I am so glad to know that Le Moccassin is popular in French style, I have always loved them but never heard anyone else mention them before! This was fun and you had fun styles I was not expecting! Subbed and belled!
Beautiful shoes!!! Along with handbags, I love shoes too!! My favorite shoes are my boots and I can hardly wait for the right weather to wear them. Since COVID I have switched to comfortable sandals to wear out and even to places that I like to dress up. My feet don't like heels anymore, but I can get away with a block heel or not too heavy platform style.
I own most of those shoes except the Chanel type but I have an alternative for that. I also don’t have those almost knee high boots because we are in a tropical country we only have two seasons(wet and dry) but because I love boots I bought 2 pairs of ankle boots beige and black in vegan leather. I know other people will find it weird when they see me those ankle boots but that is their problem ahahahaha. It looks good anyway. My son told me it is nice especially when I wear it with my trousers and denim jeans.
I love all your the examples of vamp, pointed toe she’s you showed. They are so flattering on women. Alas, they always slip of my foot because my feet are too narrow
I LOVE shoes. My favourite are loafer flats. They up your outfits but are very comfortable for work. I also love boots. I have a variety of heights and colours.
The shiny printed booties are my fav…I have many pairs of booties..one pair I call my ‘’Beatle Boots.” I wear them everywhere…I once wore my Beatle Boots with a grey lace dress to a wedding..I got all kids of compliments…
I liked all of your shoe selections here especially coming from a French perspective. I had too many favorites to mention, this will help me with my shopping for shoes now. I noticed the patterned black tights you wore with your knee length boots, so cool! I got a pair of similar when I was in Germany some years ago, I took good care of them which means I don't wear them a lot.
I bought a pair of Isabel Marant black leather gladiator styled sandals, and a tan pair of Isabel Marant sandals from Vestiaire Collective, and I just love them!

I like the Chanel slingback most. thank you for enlightening me.
Ballet Flats. Comfortable and pretty.
Again, the most PERFECT list of shoes to own!! I do have a hard time finding the perfect nude tone pump - I am pretty fair skinned. I'm on the hunt...As always, wonderful selection!
I am also very fair. Do not wear stark white but cream works good for me
a good nude pump in different heights is so difficult to find
@@carolesposto9802 I'm opposite.i like pure white, I'm very pale
I found a pair of Repetto ballet flats and I’m in love with them. The look, the comfort, the style. I wear them with everything
My favorite shoes are pumps and tall boots with a slender heel, and ballet flats. Least favorite are athletic /tennis shoes of all types.
That makes us Shoe Sisters Sandy 😃
Thanks for this great video. I love the loafers the best for comfort.
chanel style is the best! so beautiful and timeless
Wonderful! AND I am so glad to know that Le Moccassin is popular in French style, I have always loved them but never heard anyone else mention them before! This was fun and you had fun styles I was not expecting! Subbed and belled!
I got rid of my tall boots as it got very little use from me, while an pair of ankle boots is my fave autumn shoes. I love oxford and low heel pumps.
I need to up my game!!!! Great selections.
So many gorgeous shoes! I especially loved the black boots! Thank you for great tips in all your videos! 🤗
You are very welcome Heidi 😘
I LOVE shoes. My favourite are loafer flats. They up your outfits but are very comfortable for work. I also love boots. I have a variety of heights and colours.
I really love the lower heel two tone sling back two tone shoes you showed in the first part of your video.
The shiny printed booties are my fav…I have many pairs of booties..one pair I call my ‘’Beatle Boots.” I wear them everywhere…I once wore my Beatle Boots with a grey lace dress to a wedding..I got all kids of compliments…
I am so glad you have flats and/or minimal heels in the lineup 👏👏👏
Do you believe that nude flats can be as chic as the heeled version?
I love them all! I have about 80 pairs of shoes. Did i mention i love dress shoes, high and low heels.
I would love to see them Sarah 😃
I liked all of your shoe selections here especially coming from a French perspective. I had too many favorites to mention, this will help me with my shopping for shoes now. I noticed the patterned black tights you wore with your knee length boots, so cool! I got a pair of similar when I was in Germany some years ago, I took good care of them which means I don't wear them a lot.
I bought a pair of Isabel Marant black leather gladiator styled sandals, and a tan pair of Isabel Marant sandals from Vestiaire Collective, and I just love them!
Perfect choice of shoes all very versatile and stylish 💕
