Congratulations!! Where did you do your Open Water cert? I just completed my Instructor certification and still get excited every time I hop into the water. I'm uploading a compilation video of my footage from Utila, Honduras over my two month stay so stay tuned :) New 4k rig, video lights and lots of fun!
+James Harris yes, thankfully I do. I've been diving for 2 years now and have been blessed to be able to dive in Bali, Florida and Mozambique. Basically I love being in the water, so seeing stuff is bonus! Also I'm a beginner, so there's still tons to learn... In May I hope to go back to Bali, but your footage is out of this world!! Soon I'll add some footage from Mozambique to my channel.
Lucky, we went diving in Galapagos earlier this year but we didn't have good visibility and didn't see any hammerheads. How many days was your liveaboard? Do you recommend it?
Hey guys. The liveaboard was a week with Aggressor in December. Best diving I've ever done, absolutely incredible, it's a totally different game if you do a liveaboard and get out to Darwin/Wolf. 100% recommend it, where you doing day trips when you went?
Wow, incredible footage! Mind sharing what month of 2014 was this taken? (If I want to see all the things you saw, what month should I aim to do this trip?) Thanks for sharing!
Yot Boon Hey man thanks. This was all shot in December, I don’t think there is neccesarily a best month, it’s more based around what you want to see and if there are certain months you are more likely to see particular marinelife. It will be awesome whenever you go though rest assured :D Enjoy man!
Denis Collins Thanks for watching, they are called Sunfish, or Mola Mola and they are massive! You see them from the side and they are flat like a pancake, but when they turn you realize how big they really are. Check it out animals.nationalgeographic.com/animals/fish/mola/

Thanks Miranda! :) It was around 16-23 celcius, I dived everything with a 5mm wetsuit and that was fine apart from a couple of the dive sites which experience different currents and are therefore a bit cooler. On these dives I started to feel the chill after a while but they were still definitley bearable!
Thanks Ryan, I don't believe it's common to see them in Galapagos. I've searched around and whilst I can find some videos and articles mentioning them, nobody seems to know when the best time is. I think you just have to be very lucky! But do let me know if you find out any more, they are right at the top of my bucket list to see/video! I've heard Norway is the place to go.
Galápagos Sea Lions ruclips.net/video/r_wOWziI7EI/видео.html We encountered many curious Sea Lions while in the water and on land in the Galapagos Islands.
Nope, no filters or post-production white balance adjustments (you can see the difference in my newer Utila video). Just pure virgin Go-Pro footage. The depth ranges quite a lot, I'd say the shark/sea lion scenes average around 20m, with the Marine Iguana much more shallow at 8-10m. Thank for the interest and kind comment :D
+MultiKrillz it depends what camera you're using. If it has custom white balance that works much better than a filter. My Utila video uses a better camera with this functionality. I used to play with filters using my GoPro and if you get a good one they can make quite a difference I agree. Especially if you tweak the results after and custom the white balance post-production. Mm best diving for my had to be on this trip in Galápagos, so many incredible big things to see. How about you?
+MultiKrillz yeah give them a go! Just remember if you get really shallow your footage will start to look really red. Or if you point the camera directly towards the sun sometimes 👌🏼
Hello matey, really great video. I'm running an 'Ocean Reality' page on facebook and would love to share this video on the page. With your permission, would you mind if i did? I shall credit you accordingly. Many thanks
Great news. Planning to shrink it down just a little. But yeh, very jealous, would love to Dive Galapagos some time. The page is: facebook.com/Ocean-Reality-1060921903939265/?fref=ts if you want to follow. Will take me a little while to sort it all out though. Thanks again
+jasonhirsch16 Thanks and congratulations, the diving really is ridiculously good. Are you doing day trips or liveaboard? I tried a couple of filters but they kept falling off (they weren't the best quality). Most of the footage is without a filter, I found the red filter was good at lower depths but didn't do as much when you go below 20m when you lose most of the red - the big rays at 2:22 were shot with a filter red filter. I use 1080p and 30fps (can't notice the difference between this and 60 after the RUclips upload) at 16:9. Let me know if you have any other questions, if not enjoy your trip!
Thanks for the information James. Did you use the Wide, Medium or Narrow FOV? I'll only be doing a single day trip unfortunately. I'd love to be able to do the liveaboard. I picked up a Polarpro red filter and backscatter gopro mount so I'll have to see how those do with my Hero4 Silver.
No problem! I always use Wide, it's the same as a 14mm lens and as I don't use a screen attachment I want to know that if I'm pointing at (or near) something, I'm going to get it in the shot! That's funny, I just got one of the same filters myself ready for my Utila diving trip in March! Let me know how it goes :)
Thanks John! I have two new pieces coming soon - Philippines macro wildlife just off the beach, and I’ve just returned from an expedition onboard the Quino El Guardin research vessel, taking pictures and video of the incredible life of the Sea of Cortez - or as Jacques Cousteau called it - “The worlds aquarium”. Subscribe and keep your eye out for the new material uploading soon! :)
Hey! Really appreciate the support thank you so much :) I should be in central America for a couple of months early next year so I'll have a new video soon! Fingers crossed it will feature some whale shark footage, still havent seen one!
Hola amigos! Gracias y excelente video!! Do you know if you can have internet connection in the islands? I will travel in this agency (up) And they told me there are sometimes, depending on the islands in which we are. I have to check my mail at times, that's why the connection is important. And the other is if you can buy with euros in the city. (My english is not very good). Thanks and nice video!! :)
Hola! On the island we stayed at after the liveaboard we had interent, I'm not sure about the other islands. I doubt it will ever be 100% reliable knowing South America. Not sure about the Euros sorry! Enjoy your trip :)
Love this video the sealions are so cute! Just completed PADI open water and this encapsulates why diving is so special

So sick! How many days did it take you too find all of this beauties?? I'm going there next week and I would love to see them all! Thanks!
Thanks man! I shot all this on a 7 day Aggressor liveaboard. Who are you diving with? It's the best diving I've ever done you will love it!!

Is diving there expensive? Great vid by the way?
H.pink hey, thank you! The Liveaboards are quite pricey I’m afraid. Day trips are cheaper but don’t have the same access as these trips.
wow! On my bucketlist!
Sofie Kjellver for sure - hands down the best diving I've ever done!!
Great video !!! I am planning to go next year, anybidea when is the best time to go ? Which month were you there ?

Yot Boon thanks! December 2014 :)

Hey, glad you liked it and you're very welcome. Check out my newer Utila vid I shot earlier this year! Shot with 4k :D
Amazing stuff. u got this official red go pro filter to put on? at what depth in meters do u use it ?
Nope, no filters or post-production white balance adjustments (you can see the difference in my newer Utila video). Just pure virgin Go-Pro footage. Thx. I think you need filter at 20 + meters. It gets all too green at least for me. Best divesite u ever been to? :)

What type of ray is that in the video?
