WOW. Talk about work and research! I can't even imagine how long it took you to put this together! While I can't say I was all that excited to watch this film, it really was a visual splendor. I really liked quite a lot of the looks, and I love the process you highlighted in this. I love all the thrift searching and repurposing. I completely missed the carriage detailing, and I am so glad you pulled up the comparison to the My Fair Lady scene. I never would have made the connection on my own. Spectacular work! Thanks for all the effort that went into this!
18:31 A costume worn by Charlize Theron as Queen Ravenna designed by Colleen Atwood for the film “Snow White and the Huntsman” was embellished with beetle wing casings. It looks like beetle wing casings was the theme for that costume. That scene unfortunately ended up on the cutting room floor so movie goers didn’t get to see Theron in that interesting costume.
Girl, you know how much I despise Disney live action remakes. I can comfortably rant about Emma Watson's yellow prom dress in B&tB for the rest of my life. I had vowed never to spend money on watching another remake. Well, I saw Cruella, although I saw it at mom's house and so didn't pay anything for it (ha! Loophole!) and... I didn't hate it. I'm of 2 minds about it: as a stand alone movie it works well, as a prequel it fails. I won't spoil anything else here, we can talk about it in the livestream if you want, but the costumes and the performances of the Emmas were the best thing about the movie. My favorite couture dress is the garbage truck dress and favorite outer wear is Cruella's houppelande- esque coat at the end with the hanging sleeves. I WANT THAT COAT.
love love loved the movie lol gnna go rewatch for like he fifth time!! the Baronesses looks were my favorite Charles James is one of my faves and the alexander Mcqueen just everything in general was done so well. Thank you for you videos so well researched I'm a new fan to your channel!!!
This made me want to watch the movie, I was undecided. It does gives me Devil wears prada vibes... The most interesting fashion choices for a movie in recent years...
I love the dettle wing dress you showed Hedi. The good thing is the beetle live out their natural lives and their wings are only collected after they die.
I find it interesting that I'm perfectly divided on this movie. There's parts I like and parts I think are bad. Because it's a Disney remake it feels sorta better in comparison to the other remakes, but it also has the same cash grab aftertaste. I mean, I can accept that divided feeling, but it's kinda funny.

I’m a fashion junkie, so watching Cruella, especially for the first time, was giving so much inspiration and excitement
This was SO well researched, thank you!
Thank you so much. I try.

The costumes ARE great. I liked the movie, but it appears that many viewers are divided on it.
