Jade does a lot more than she thinks or described to us. She drives, deliveries, bagging, Uses all the heavy duty equipment, tractor etc. And is also great at modeling shorts. Keep up the good work Jade.

I was a swamper for a third generation logging/mill family in the 1980s, though we called it "being on the green chain." My experience is that it's not about strength but about organization and time management. For me the toughest days were when we were sawing ties. The mill was a 44" or 48" (I don't recall) Foley Belsaw radial saw powered by a Chevy 350 engine. The boss could spit four ties out at a time every few minutes for an hour when he wanted to harass me for fun. I had to sort by dimension and stack the boards in the forklift stacks, stack the ties, feed the chipper and stack for the edger. The edger was powered by the Chevy too with a drive line under the floorboards. As soon as the boss would push out a bunch of ties, he would step over to the edger and start pushing edger boards as fast as he could. He liked to flash me a smile to let me know he was thinking about me. He's in his 80s now and still saws logs, though on a Woodmizer now, as the Foley Belsaw was burned up in a mill fire due to a hot bearing I believe. I too still mill lumber. We have remained close friends for 45 years, and I visit him every summer when I'm down in his neck of the woods.

Jade, you said one of the most important things early on. "I guess I just do the BEST I can do".
When you do that, don't EVER apologize for it. If your employer doesn't like your best than they have the option of replacing you with someone else. I've said this and have heard others pretty much repeat it. If you are doing your best, you can't do anymore----case closed. Being a lady at times has to be physically demanding when doing hard, physical work like this. You do it and you do it well. Always a pleasure when you are in the video offering your thoughts. Don't work to hard in the summer heat and stay hydrated. It's easy to get overheated in the sun 😊😊

Down South, she would be called the "Off Barrier", meaning everything that comes off the mill is Her responsibility....on our wood yards, we don't mill lumber...the raw timber in brought in and sorted into post, poles, saw logs and chipping material...then each one of these sub-sets are sent to a different part of the mill complex to be further refined in to usable products, like treated post, treated poles, lumber and chips. At each an off barrier handles these to make the transition run smoothly!!! So, yes the "swapper" is one of the most inportant parts of southern pine production

Jade, you make your job sound fairly simple but I know for a fact that there’s a lot more to it than you let on. You’re always thinking about 3, 4 or 5 steps ahead and what needs to happen so all those steps can happen the way they need to. You make it look easy because you’re really good at what you do. You have no disadvantage at all to anyone, male or female. Your folks raised you and your siblings in a way that gave each of you strengths that will serve you well throughout life. You all benefit each other directly from your own effort, with each contributor adding to the bond of the family unit. A wonderful thing in itself. The ability to focus mentally on process work, to perform efficiently and safely, is an attribute that many people do not possess, or do not care to apply themselves to. Said people are often the first to disrespect the value of such ability as well. (My experience of half a century, admittedly not in timber work, but industry never the less.)

2.An assistant who performs tasks requiring little training, in support of a skilled worker.

I worked in an Oregon mill in the 70s. I’ve never heard the word swamper. We wore leather aprons, boots, and gloves pulling on the green chain with a crew of 2. All lumber was 8’ to 24 ft long.
The mill was 2/ 48” circle saws with a vertical edger behind, a resaw😊😊 (bandsaw) a trimmer, and a separator.
Longer 4x12s were darned heavy. Timbers were stacked with a hoist.
The guys smoked or chewed. Not me.

I know both of you beautiful ladies work very hard as well as your dad being a logger is dangerous and hard work from the crack of dawn until you’re done for the day. Most people can’t believe how heavy green timber is especially green, maple and oak. Thank your dad for raising such beautiful tough girls, that show beautiful women can turn forests into beautiful, housing and strong structures❤ you all

I've operated saws, forklift, stacker sticker machines, computers ect ect and Piling lumber always was the most fun because the lumber graders love to go fast and it makes the day go by quick!

From what I have observed, you two ladies are probably the most toned females on RUclips. I am talking naturally because you are using muscles that even athletes do not use or develop. Very impressive........
