I enjoy your channel and love your fabric choices. When you are pressing your binding, you will get better results if you press the seams of the joins open, less bulk. I’ve been quilting for many years and love to see new quilters getting inspired.
Thank you and great point, Jkaras! 💖 I've heard it's best to press seams to one side for a stronger, more stable seam, and also to help make matching points easier ... but when it comes to the binding, (while I haven't experienced bulk issues, yet) pressing the seams open would definitely help reduce bulk. A great tip/correction!! 😄 I still have MUCH to learn about quilting. 🙌
Kristen, what a great video, than you so much…. I’ve had so many ideas and didn’t know exactly where to start. I’ve been saving fabrics from estate sales but want to try the fat packs. I never realized how handy they are. Thanks again, Chris.
Kristin, thank you very much for doing this walk through quilt video. It has been a long time since I made one and have only ever used bias binding. Loved the binding tutorial. Opens so many more doors for fabric choices.
Very informative tutorial, Kristin! I have been quilting for many years, but I really enjoyed your binding method, since those mitered corners can be tricky. Thank you!
Thankyou so much for this wonderful tutorial.I have really wanted to make a “story quilt”for my grandson.A friend gifted me lots of lovely scraps but I didn’t know where to start, needing a really straightforward quilt to begin. This is just what I needed ! You are such a great teacher ,so encouraging and mindful of the audience of beginners you are speaking to.Brilliant job .
So glad you found the tutorial helpful, Alison! And thank you for that awesome compliment!! A story quilt sounds like fun to make. I know how overwhelming it can be to work with scraps, but once you know the basics, the world is your quilting oyster! 😄
I did the English paper piecing tutorial you posted a while back. I got 4 diamonds sewn together and it's been languishing ever since. Thanks for your tutorial, I will give it a try.
Thank you,i tried making one years ago it wasn't straith it was messy 😅, and i sew clothes it should be easy lol 😅,this video is so helpful ,i been wanted to make quilts out of my son and daughter few outfits i saved from when they were little. Your outfit looks cute 😍.
I am following this pattern and done with the top, yay! This is the easiest video I’ve found to make a quilt, easy and to the point. I do have a question about the back side of the top. Does it matter how the back side of the seams are ironed? I hope that makes sense.
Inspired by your podcast, I started quilting too. Great tutorial! I am trying to get my brain wrapped around the connected stars pattern you already made: those big triangles gave me a lot of trouble! 😅
Amazing! Thanks so much!!!!!
Great tutorial, thanks so much for sharing. So inspiring 💙🩶🤍🩵🧵🪡
I'm glad you enjoyed it, Miki!!

I’m an avid quilter, however this was so enjoyable! 🥰 Thank you Kristin, for doing what you do!
Aww, I'm so glad you enjoyed it, Deb! I still have lots to learn about quilting, but do have fun sharing what I know 😄

Great tutorial! Now I know how to use up the fabric squares I’ve inherited. 😊

Great tutorial 😊 so glad to see you enjoy your quilting journey. I’m also a crocheter knitter turned quilter 😊
It's such a fun craft to have to alternate between!! 🤗
So good! Thank you! 💜✂️💜✂️💜👌🐱

Yay!! That's so great, Isabelle!! Ooof! Yes, that pattern was a challenge. The piecing seems awkward, but trust the process. It works out in the end.
Thank you - what a great tutorial! When quilting a smaller item, like a bag, do you also use batting?
Yep! For bags, you can also use high-loft fusible interfacing like the one I mentioned in my bag-making tutorial 😄
@@Voolenvine thanks, that's good to know 😘
How are things in the Dye Dungeon? Is Bob still your uncle?
Hi
Can I turn a knitted square blanket into a quilt?
I want yardage of the octopus and mushroom fabrics
right?! The octopus print and mushrooms might just be my favorite prints out of all of them 😄
