    you need a higher voltage between 40 and 60 volts or at least 40 volts, 22 volts is not enough. It weld but I am very sure that the weld does not look too good.

      HomeMade Projects a Arcwelder Works with 15-40 volt (idle 35-70 volts) and 80 - 200 or 400 Ampere Dc. kst's Arcwelder Works with Ac this is Not Good for MMA welding Ac is Good vor Tig welding

      Ac is used for example for alluminium, dc is usually used for steel an iron

    If I could make a minor safety suggestion my grade 9 electronics teacher made a point of enforcing, when wiring the power switch, have the circuit connected to the center and the mains coming in from the side. That way the unused terminal isn't live when the device is switched off but still plugged in and if it ever managed to touch the housing or get touched, no one gets shocked

    Actually, the idea is not bad if you implement it with a higher transformer frequency and correct windings.
    You only need a frequency converter or approx. 3-30 KHz, then the transmission strength is much greater and e.g. the right tight 25-50 V winding. 3 khz - 30 khz. e.g. from self-made bistable tilting stage for 2 euros
    Components: _
    1x microwave transformer
    (2 low frequency transistors for 40 cents
    2 capacitors 20 cents and 2 resistors
    10 cents, potentiometer 10 cents) -> 10 hz -> 3 - 30 kHz
    (Should be about 3-30 khz) -> then two controlled
    2x RJH60F7 IGBT 600V 90A 328.9W ADPK Renesas in parallel on cooling plate, as well as a rectifier for 220 V 100 A.
    There is only one Khz converter in it, a rectifier 220 V, filter capacitor 3-30 Khz, a microwave transformer, 25-50 V winding and e.g. 2 x parallel IGBT transistors as the functional core. Why not make them in Europe.
    DC control with 100 A dimmer otherwise only max 32 A. Simply 4 additional extra power triacs on an extra sheet in parallel.
    (Cave, cave, cave also welder circuit diagrams from China on the Internet, there are short circuits and a lot of incorrect circuits in it, in order to disguise some of the stolen, bloated patent crap. Also, the direct current in the middle does not work as a regulator, absolute madness the China fakes on all Google Images Pages.)
