Okay, so I've sung a cappella before with my brother and sister for performances in days long past. It's very hard ... even when you have that "family" harmony thing going for you. The timing, breathing, intonation, everything. Wow. I know I'm late to the party, but no mikes or anything. Guys, this is really difficult to do. They are extremely brave and just so good. They must practice a lot and truly love each other and love what they do. I love that they did this. Bravo.
Chance has this haunting vibrato to his voice that just resonates thru the whole group sometimes. Their no-mic delivery of this is so amazing. Leaves you speechless.
If you mean "trickery" as creating something that can't be done live on stage, I have to disagree. "Trickery" has a negative connotation. Adding reverb, removing noise, allowing multiple takes, etc. is common in any group or band when they make the studio version. It isn't "creating" the excellence, it's just making the incredible sound even MORE incredible.
@@scarroll451 Hi Shawn! I didn't forget anything. From what I understand, the premiere groups with amazing vocalists don't typically need pitch correction... they might redo a take. Bottom line is that what hits the eardrums is more pleasing to me when 'polished' than when 'raw.' I am the first to agree that live a cappella by the best of the best is amazing... it's just my preference to get it perfect. 'Slight imperfections' have nothing to do with honesty... just a few differences in frequency.... and it grates on me. Like a JUST SLIGHTLY out-of-tune guitar. I'm an old-timer. I heard CSN do this live and I've still got heir vinyl! They weren't as good live either. 😊 I think it boils down to personal preference, and not so much right or wrong.
WOW! I was convinced it wasn’t legit until I saw various live versions. This is as REAL as it gets. An immensely talented group. The guttural growls and the vocal fry is phenomenal by the lead singer. And “Deep throat bass dude,” ummm just WOW. At first, I thought it was a robot or a synthesized voice, but that is this dude’s real voice. Crazy! I have never heard a voice that naturally deep in my life.
Same! I was so sad that SCS didn't have staying power and that Chris was branching out with a solo career, but bringing Chance into HF was such a fantastic fit for everyone.
Me after listening to the studio version for the 23.548.368th time : "God I love this... Such a shame they would have a hard time doing that live." Home Free : "Hold our beers." My jaw : *drops* They are amazing. And I was about to see them last years when the pandemic happened... I'm helplessly hoping I will be able to see them soon !
Wow I'm shaking a bit I downloaded this song today and know I'm finding myself singing it in my own time lol....SO SO Grateful this song exist shotty m8.
its the Ryman the home of country music......... the icons that has been on that stage....... if u think too deep it can get u like holy crap i am on stage at the Ryman
I usually LOVE their performances and videos, but I have to say that this particular performance is not good. Someone in the group hit a number of boner notes and was off pitch badly throughout the song. It really ruined it for me. Hopefully it was just an off night.
Austin is capable of going haywire unless he has the tone sound at the start of the song, but where you sit in the audience also influances what your recording sounds like. Those hearing it firsthand sitting in the sweet spot got the full 'real' sound. Besides this is live and not perfect is still better than most other artists. Watched recording of them sing How Great Thou Art live, off mike sheltering from the rain during a show. Now THAT was perfection. It won't always be perfect, but it will always be real talent.
I have never heard a crowd of people so completely still and silent. Hauntingly beautiful, gentlemen. Just stunning!
WOW. The harmonies are as tight live, as they are on the video. They are such an incredibly talented group. 😎

The ability to be so precise with NO indications of start/stop is stunning.

Agreed. They are all wonderful musicians, but Chance is my favorite.
It's wonderful to hear Adam Rupp sing.
Thanks for sharing this Efren Diaz. It was well filmed and the sound is remarkable. WOW! these gems of men.
Just in case you thought there was trickery in the studio versions. Thank you, gentlemen for being so amazing and sharing that with us.

@@AudioVile you forgot pitch correction. I know it is ubiquitous now, but it's nice to hear this more honest version 😀

THE BEATBOXER SINGS!!!!! I loved this!
I’m absolutely transfixed. Loving discovering all of these gems. 🥰
I love how as soon as they start singing, you could hear a pin drop, throughout the entire song. Awesome video.
That is one reasons the I love a cappella
I love it that Chance found a group like this after Street Corner Symphony!
Same! I was so sad that SCS didn't have staying power and that Chris was branching out with a solo career, but bringing Chance into HF was such a fantastic fit for everyone.
Oh my goodness!!! Please at least a Grammy for this!!! Country music ACA award please!@!!
This is one of my favorite songs ever!
My favorite performance at one of the best Home Free shows I’ve been to. Gives me chills.
I'm not crying, you are.
I love it when Adam sings with the group. He is such a talented young man.
Awesome talent here!!! And can I get an "Amen" for that rich Basso Profondo??
Anyone else catch Austin taking in a deep breath at the beginning when Chance and Rob started to sing
Austin was out for just a beat a couple of times
Lovely, just amazing.
The best their is.
I've wondered how much production adds to these guys harmonies. No more. They can do it anytime, anywhere. Awesome.
Sheer. Vocal. Perfection.
I have loved Home Free since The Sing Off few years ago!
This is one of my favorites songs they have ever done. So great to hear it live!!
Love the bass in the second verse! I always thought this song needed bottom but everyone covers it just like CS&N three part harmony.
Wonderfull and fafe to hear them without mic. Love it!
Stunning!
Best a cappella group ever. And I’m including the legendary Gas House Gang in my opinion!
Good work gentlemen, please keep giving us your gifts!!!
2:13 the resonance and volume on that C2 from Tim is seriously remarkable
C2 is very low for normal basses. Foust hits it with his chest voice.
he hits 2 Ds and one C fully projected and loud, Tim's off mic technique is really impressive
Blew my mind
Amazing....I've heard this live twice and the audience both times just got completely silent, AWESOME !!! Thanks for posting.

It is good to see Adam singing!
As far as talent and just the purity of voices, this is my favorite song by them.
Love it when the bass holds a note. Glorious harmony.
Amazing talent. Great live performance. And no auto-tune needed.
This gave me chills...thank you so much for sharing!
Just beautiful!
I was there 🥰Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing.....Now that is perfection at its finest!
These guys are absolutely amazing. This sounds just as good live as in the studio.
I love so much, but I’m hooked on their video of it. Excellence!!
So beautifully professional! None better than this!
What was Austin getting so nervous about at the beginning there. They did a grand job. Absolutely beautiful as always. Amazing.
its the Ryman the home of country music......... the icons that has been on that stage....... if u think too deep it can get u like holy crap i am on stage at the Ryman
Breathing harmony! They are absolutely the best!🔥♥️🍟
I love this
I just realized I was holding my breath
Goosebumps

🥰😍🧡❤❤❤❤❣
Not easy.
Need the beautiful guitar picking
Not fond of the trio. The BASS is so needed. However, these guys are my FAVORITE!!!

Don't think we were watching the same video, mate.

Good, but they really need their engineer and his turbo-powered eq controls.
