I have been waiting for you to get to this one! I love CSN and their music, but I absolutely adore Home Free’s rendition! Chance and Rob singing in perfect unison before adding the gorgeous harmonies gives me chills every time. A master class in five part harmony, and in my opinion one of Home Free’s best.
This is pureness to the umteeth time. I love the harmonies in this song and Brothers In Arms. ??? Does Austin look like Barry Gibbs whe he joins in ????
Been awhile since I heard you do a reaction to Home Free. I agree that they could not have done a better job than this with one of my favorite Crosby Stills and Nash songs. Also, enjoy your reactions to songs.
A master class in acapella! Chance directed this video. Needless to say (but I'm going to anyway) the singing and harmonies are fantastic. If you were fond of 'country' music, I'd recommend "Remember My Name"; however, I think "Playing With Fire" would be more to your taste. Thanks for playing this one and your comments.
I can’t listen to this beautiful tight harmony without saying something! Perfection is the word. I go back to this song often, I listen and am caught up in it, every time. Thank you for your good reaction.
AMAZING PRECISION!! An exquisite 5-part harmony masterpiece!!! Besides the unbelievable harmonies, getting to hear Adam Rupp's sweet tenor actually singing is such a great treat ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Home Free's members come from a wide swath and they are masters at using the different timbers of the different accents to add an extra layer of texture to their sound.
It takes a brave and confident singer to do this without any frills. Nothing to hide behind. And here we have five of them. What a demonstration of pure talent.
Home Free has long been my favorite of the amazing a cappella groups so popular over the last decade. And this performance is my favorite of Home Free's master works. It, more than any other, proves the virtuosity of each singer as well as the perfection of blending, of synchronicity, of arranging, and of visual artistry. Other offerings from this group offer amazing complex harmonies, but your comment that "less is more" puts this one in a class by itself. I enjoyed your reaction very much!
Hey, Chris! I usually listen to your reaction videos with one Ear Bud in my right ear. But when you mentioned the improved sound with your headphones, I decided to put the other one in. Oh my goodness! What a difference! I don’t know if it’s more pronounced with this song, or with Home Free, but I’ll be trying it now with all your videos. That song was - as you said - perfect.
Thank you for the giggles at the beginning, great reaction. This is my favorite of all Homefree's covers, so simple sounding yet not so simple, just gorgeous.
One of their best. As much as I love Adam Rupp's percussion, I find their full 5-part harmony simply amazing. Another one with full 5-part harmony that actually brought me to tears the first time I heard it is their version of How Great Thou Art. Fabulous. If you're soliciting recommendations for Voiceplay (my second favorite a cappella group), I recommend one of their stompin' ones - My Mother Told Me, Seven Nation Army or Dream On. I much prefer them to their Disney or ballady ones.
Lol! “Rumbled my whole spirit” One of my new favorite expressions of all time! Hope you are doing well my friend. Always a pleasure to watch your reactions!
This really shows their harmonies. They are really a great acapella group, they must have clear top notch vocals to do that well because there are no instruments to hide behind like many singers/groups out there have. I enjoy it all, instruments or no instruments but there's something great about just hearing all pure vocals.
This is one of my favorite HF covers, as many times as I have listened to it, I still always get insane goosebumps - their harmonies are fantastic in this!
' Drone' was the word you were looking for. Tim added his bass Drone as a foundation on which the other four stood. Adam did NOT beat-box; he added his voice ; which is rare. The black and white video emphasizises the simplicity of the vocal arrangement. This brings me to tears every time.
I still dont know how 5 people can sound like a six chime steam locomotive whistle but they DO! its an amazing and incredible sound their harmony is... I dont have words descriptive enough so yes "perfect" works. More of this please!
So hauntingly beautiful with the amazing harmonies and one of the few songs where Adam Rupp is singing!❤️🎤 Thea guys here so amazingly talented, they can do so many different types of songs and still be awesome!!👏🔥 Thanks for the reactions to them!👏👏 🏡 🍟
That is the most beautiful 5 part harmony I have ever heard. It was perfection. Definitely my favorite harmony cover by Home Free. Amazing! Great reaction.
Hi Chris, thanks for the shoutout ( Annelies/Angel) and this is just so good. I go to their concert next Wednesday and am curious what they will sing in the pre-show UVIP performance. Glad you are reacting to Home Free again. Also, more Dan Vasc is appreciated. I’ll Make. Man out of you (Mulan) would be great😊
Woohoo! Chris checking out some vintage Home Free. Not a lot of reactors recognize and appreciate how in sync their voices are, the stop/starts and breath control. Sooo pristine. Really wish it were a bit longer. (Always a tad miffed by those who've never heard the song before and/or have no clue who CS&N were. Oh, well.)
You should hear their live version of this done off-mic at the Ryman in October 2019. It's amazing! Even if you don't react to it you should watch it just to see how great they are live.
I love how we get treated to the double bass at least 3 times. I grew up with CSN; I find this rendition of the song takes it to another level. I’m finding that my favorite HF songs are Chance inspired.
Us Home Fries know how important headphones are when listening to Home Free. Good ones if you can afford them. I have ones with little subwoofers. Lol! So Tim's bass really comes through.
I found this, Home Free did a great job on this song. Chance and Rob did a great job on this song. Austin high tenor and i can hear Tim's low bass. The harmonies are tight. Adam did a great job to.😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Glad you stuck with Home Free, and found out they are not country bumpkins, but seriously good artists who love their craft & just love entertaining folks. Glad they finally won you over. 😊
One of my FAVORITES by HF, and picking a favorite by them is hard as ALL their songs are masterpieces. I havent listened to this in a while and I STILL get goosebumps...So beautiful
I grew up listening to Crosby, Stills & Nash & had their album with this song Helplessly Hoping. Absolutely loved them & their harmonies. This song is full of alliterations. Home Free more than does justice to all the songs they cover. And this song is perfection to me with the 5 part harmonies. A true masterpiece! I can't say enough about how great these guys are & humble while still staying respectful to the original song.
What a great version. I grew up with the original as well. I'd hate to admit it, but I'm thinking that I like this version even better. Don't tell C,S&N, though! lol
Great reaction Chris; Home free perfection for sure! As many have noted, this was Chance's baby, including the direction on the video. For another masterclass in 5-part harmony a MUST is I Can't Outrun You, video concept and direction also by Chance; it's not only beautiful to listen to but the video is brilliant as well!
My favorite CSN song... but I always thought the song need a bass foundation. Home Free blew my mind (again, and as usual) with this arrangement. Spectacular. It's so good I HAVE to see people enjoy it! Great reaction!
So Larry, this was HF's gold standard masterpiece for 5 part harmony A cappella for quite a while, but then they did a cover of Dire Strait's Brothers in Arms, and many feel they raised the bar to a platinum level masterpiece on that one, which is truly a vocal work of art. Check it out.
Watching your videos on my tv is very enjoyable but thank you for the idea of watching your video with headphones. That takes the song to another level!
Glad you did this one Larry. One of those exceptional, unexpected ones like Home Free's O Holy Night or Eva Cassidy's Over the Rainbow, or Autumn Leaves, just singular World Class stuff. Thanks Larry. Home Free is kind of like Forrest Gump's Box of Chocolates, you never know what you are going to get other than it will be something very good to great and now and then Exceptional.
Very pleasantly surprised by this reaction. I admit I went into this rather cynical thinking "Let's see what Mr. 'I Hate Country' thinks of this one.." Boy am I glad to be wrong. Great reaction to an amazing performance! Cheers! :)
CSN sang it as a folk song; HF sang it as art.
Chance’s voice is so good for the folk style songs, but they did take it to another level in this one.
@@kristindunstan172 agree
This is one of my favorite covers of Home Free......a master class in harmonies!
I'm telling ya! It's PERFECT!
This version is pure ear honey.
Facts!
Home Free is perfection 🥰 💞
Amazing production and performance. This was prompted by Chance who arranged this offering. Great reaction.
What a great version.
Arranged and directed the video too!
Tim actually arranged it, but Chance directed the video!
Chance was a real 'Swiss army knife' (arrangement/video production/vocals) on this offering. It was brilliant!

Any time all five are singing it is special.
Been awhile since I heard you do a reaction to Home Free. I agree that they could not have done a better job than this with one of my favorite Crosby Stills and Nash songs. Also, enjoy your reactions to songs.
Thanks so much! This was a really great version, right?
A master class in acapella! Chance directed this video. Needless to say (but I'm going to anyway) the singing and harmonies are fantastic. 'playing with fire' is an incredible song.
Whomever inspired the visual performance and crafted the video deserves a huge bonus. It's amazing.
Home Free - Helplessly Hoping - Eargasm
Thanks Chris. 🖤🍟
Their harmonies are exquisite. It was perfect except??? Too short!!! Great reaction.
I can’t listen to this beautiful tight harmony without saying something! Perfection is the word. I go back to this song often, I listen and am caught up in it, every time. Thank you for your good reaction.
Thank you for allowing these phenomenal men to demonstrate perfection in this arrangement.
I love this version. I find myself holding my breath the entire song. Stunning
AMAZING PRECISION!! An exquisite 5-part harmony masterpiece!!!
Besides the unbelievable harmonies, getting to hear Adam Rupp's sweet tenor actually singing is such a great treat ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
Probably my favorite Home Free song. It's not just a song, it's an experience, haunting and beautiful.
Perfect syncopation and harmony....... simplicity and still magically beautiful 😍
Home Free's members come from a wide swath and they are masters at using the different timbers of the different accents to add an extra layer of texture to their sound.
Chris, correct, perfection. I cried. This is the best one of theirs I have heard. Not technically or musically but emotionally.
Brings me to tears.
Every time.
It takes a brave and confident singer to do this without any frills. Nothing to hide behind. And here we have five of them. What a demonstration of pure talent.

Yes, it's hard to come along a song that is this tight and seemingly perfect. I can't imagine one thing I'd add to it or take away.
Thank you for the giggles at the beginning, great reaction. This is my favorite of all Homefree's covers, so simple sounding yet not so simple, just gorgeous.
Simply perfect. What a great performance! Thanks for your kind words!
They read each other's mind in this song.
Well-said!
I was hoping you’d play it again.
But I’m glad you heard and appreciated this.
Myself, I think that this is Home Free's best. Nice reaction, BTW.
This is simply a masterpiece.
It's so beautiful that it always brings tears to my eyes, every time I listen to this one.

HF is always wonderful, but this one and "Auld Lang Syne" are perfect, glorious, sheer flawless perfection.
Agree!
Lol! “Rumbled my whole spirit” One of my new favorite expressions of all time! Hope you are doing well my friend. Always a pleasure to watch your reactions!
lol, thanks!

One of my favorites by Home Free! So good it gives me goosebumps!
It was so pure! I had to listen to it at least 5 other times after I finished this recording this evening. Straight to the playlist 😉
' Drone' was the word you were looking for. Tim added his bass Drone as a foundation on which the other four stood.
Adam did NOT beat-box; he added his voice ; which is rare.

Thanks for the reactions to them!👏👏 🏡 🍟
There just isn't much to say about this. So good harmonies, so well sung! So different voices, but still one. So short but o so powerful
Breathtaking harmony ❤
That is the most beautiful 5 part harmony I have ever heard. It was perfection. Definitely my favorite harmony cover by Home Free. Amazing! Great reaction.
Love you Larry. You ALWAYS get it!
Thanks so much! This was a treasure in a song. Simply amazing.
SO happy to see you do another Home Free! ❤
Yep, perfection 😊
Thank you for reacting to one of my fave songs❤
Hi Chris, thanks for the shoutout ( Annelies/Angel) and this is just so good. I go to their concert next Wednesday and am curious what they will sing in the pre-show UVIP performance. I actually thought the same thing. It seemed to end much too soon. I could have listened to that song for hours.
Love their rendition! Love the reaction!
Total vocal control! Wonderful.
You should hear their live version of this done off-mic at the Ryman in October 2019. It's amazing! Even if you don't react to it you should watch it just to see how great they are live.

Masterpiece ❤😊
Always in my personal top three, the others change from time to time but this is perfection in my opinion
Nice to see Adam Rupp sing as well as being the beatbox master. Beautiful rendition.
Us Home Fries know how important headphones are when listening to Home Free. Good ones if you can afford them. I have ones with little subwoofers. Lol! So Tim's bass really comes through.
Boy, did it. Good headphones are a must when listening to a long like this.
Lol I agree! It's perfect! ❤❤
The core element of this song musically was the harmony. They totally paid homage to that and excelled at it. I agree with you - perfect !
Yes, absolute perfection!! 🥹💝💞
country bumpkins can be seriously good artists, btw.
Agreed.
Perfect.
great reaction. I absolutely love this one. Agreed; it's perfect!
Chance is such a gifted addition to Home Free! Thanks for recognizing perfection!
This so very awesome! Home Free does it yet again! Love your reaction!
I’m actually deaf in my right ear. I never regret it more than when I’m listening to Home FREE.
I'm so sorry. the good news is that Home Free, even with one ear, is simply amazing.
Yes!! I think it’s perfect too!!❤️🤗🐝
This is perfect 5 part harmony. While I love Adams beatboxing, this song allowed him to use his beautiful tenor to fill out the harmony.
Absolutely love this song and these guys did their thing.❤️❤️❤️
That barry sounds like a pipe organ... So impressive.
One of my FAVORITES by HF, and picking a favorite by them is hard as ALL their songs are masterpieces. I havent listened to this in a while and I STILL get goosebumps...So beautiful
Definitely the blue Angel's of a capella
Nice analogy.
As a Home Fry, I’m LOVING following your adventure. As a VoicePlayer, I can’t wait to journey down the rabbit hole with you.
Great reaction. Home Free covering this song is incredible. I love this song. Its perfect the way they did it.❤
This is a master class in harmony and precision with 5 part harmony
Well said.
It’s just prefect…pure AWESOMENESS to your ears … BEAUTIFUL ❣️🎵🎶🎵❣️
You have two out of three great a capella groups. Thanks for thinking of Voiceplay!
HF sounds like a pipe organ, on this and also on "Brothers at Arms". And Adam Rupp gets to sing on both.
Stunningly beautiful
Pure perfection 👌🇬🇧
I grew up listening to Crosby, Stills & Nash & had their album with this song Helplessly Hoping. Absolutely loved them & their harmonies. This song is full of alliterations. I like it more on a different musical direction.
Great reaction Chris; Home free perfection for sure! As many have noted, this was Chance's baby, including the direction on the video. They are the best
Thanks, Larry. Nice reaction. Couldn’t agree more. Thanks!
Thank you!
Thank You for reacting to that one!! I knew you'd appreciate the harmonies of this song! Love watching You! Greetings from Cyndy in Louisiana USA!
Thanks Cyndy!
I believe CSN would love and appreciate this cover.
An awsome cover is “brothers in arms “ iriginally by dire straights. This and “how great though art” are strickly vocally
This is one of my all time favorites by CSN as well as Home Free!
Larry, you have to start trusting Home Free. Have you reacted to Seven Bridges Road yet?
Not yet, but I will!
Watching your videos on my tv is very enjoyable but thank you for the idea of watching your video with headphones. That takes the song to another level!
Thanks so much!
That was perfect!
Glad you did this one Larry. One of those exceptional, unexpected ones like Home Free's O Holy Night or Eva Cassidy's Over the Rainbow, or Autumn Leaves, just singular World Class stuff. lol, thanks so much!
I wondered when youd get to this one
They are "for each other"
So Good ❤
Complete and total ear candy!
The Harmonies are AMAZING ❤🎉
They were actually PERFECT. Seriously!!! What a song.
