I was in the Kharkiv printing house when it got hit with 4 S-300 Missiles back in 2022. That was the "closest" I got during my time there. Other than the constant arty/grads/mortars which regularly blew out windows and walls. Shit was wild.
Why would a building have been hit with 4 Surface to Air missiles? That does not make any sense. The missiles used by the S-300 are all radar guided. Have they been modified for use against ground targets? I have not heard of this before/
@@jon-michaelsampson1120 S-300 has a ground to ground mode. Russians were acvtively using them in mid 2022 to early 2023 launching them together with Iskanders/Kinzhals/Kalibrs to create more load on our anti-air defenses. Later in 2023 they started to run low on S-300 missiles and they had their own Shahed variation in mass production so they stopped to use S300 like that to save costs.
The closest I came to dieing, during the Gulf War, was when we ran over a dead camel laying in the middle of the road. Riding in a CUCV, at night, at about 50 miles a hour! Hit it dead center, flew through the air! Landed on all fours, bounced a few times, pulled over and stopped to try to figure out what just happened. Woulda been real bad if we had rolled over...
I know this war isn’t going to fight itself, and I don’t want to just watch - I want to be in it. I’m 19, from Ukraine, and looking for the right unit to join. I speak German fluently, my English is decent, and for the past few months, I’ve been fully focused on FPV drones - training in simulators, building 7-inch drones, setting up payload systems, and practicing hitting targets. I have some military background - I spent two years in a military lyceum, but I didn’t go to the academy because I didn’t want to waste years in training. I want to be on the ground, not sitting in some office. I also keep myself in good shape and train regularly. Since you have real combat experience, what would you recommend? Which unit would be the best fit for someone who actually wants to fight? Any advice would mean a lot.
Choose wisely where you go, and if possible, avoid joining a frontline infantry unit. If you're focused on FPV drones, you can stay a bit further from the contact line, which is probably safer. Try to find a unit that values human lives and allows you to keep improving your skills. Ending up in a stormtrooper-style assault unit would likely be the worst option.
I have a question about our people and their people on the front line, what is your religion? Atheists, Muslims, Christians? What do your beliefs and faith tell you in times of crisis?
I was litterally walking up to klitscho’s bridge when the missile hit just below it I stopped in maiden square to take some pictures of the hedgehogs all painted up nicely if I hadn’t I would have been stood on it I also video’d a shaheed drone flying a few meters above me in a penthouse on the left bank a few arse clenching moments there
Fpv drones were truly horrifying concept An idea of artillery shell flying right at you and you cant do much about it is terriblly effective And practice shows. Just 5,000$ or even less for cost of expirience , gear , months or even years of training and logistical nightmare of getting a wounded out of hot zones or even a life gone
Thanks for sharing your experience, stay safe! Seeing the drone drops and FPVs in the background is horrifying. It speaks to my primal fears, because you cannot run away and even hiding is very difficult.
Wonder If A Good Large Extended Handled Tennis Racket, Would Be Handy Against Drone Attacks, Or Possibly A Slingshot/Shotgun With Wire Meshed Net Loads Would Work As A Defense/Deterrents!?! GOD Bless, Pa-Pow, Amen! 😎 🙉🙈🙊 🇺🇸
