That "sized up the situation" line is such a subtle joke! I always picture the enemy going, "Wait. Why am I fighting you again?" and then confusing itself by trying to work out the logic of Earthboud's extremely obscure plot.
Since Chugga brought up the subject, let's take a second to imagine the hell that will be unleashed when Emile becomes a father and can use it as an excuse to make bad dad jokes ALL day long
Huh, that's interesting to think about. Its like as Ness starts his journey, he's closer to home, and doesn't have to worry about anything when his home is a town away. But as he gets further along, when he starts getting into unfamiliar territory, he starts to miss home, not wanting to be in those places anymore cause he's just a kid. But as he goes further and levels up more, those fears start to decline, outright going away during the end game as he realizes what he has to do and not worry about those back home, as he vows to protect them via completing his quest.
I love the idea that Ness has homesickness considering he is a child, especially because it seems he’s never been all that far from home. To go from living at home everyday to having your routine taken away everything just feels wrong, so it’s a fitting weakness for his character.
Zyro To be fair, the game lends itself to that joke too. Think about it: what exactly do Bottles of Water give you in this game apart from relief in Dusty Dune Desert and Scaraba?
I'm not sure which weakness I prefer more between ness and ninten. While homesickness is pretty appropriate for a child, I like how ninten has asthma and has to use an inhaler, something associated with nerdiness, and is instead one of the most powerful attackers. Emile: afraid of bears before FNAF made it cool /s
I'm very late, but this is about half true. The second, third, and fourth towns indeed line up like this, and that's neat. But, Onett's hotel has two beds and everywhere else just does whatever. Edit: Unless you're referring to the "costs" of each bed for each party member? 'Cause that's certainly true. Every member available has to pay for a separate bed, so hotel prices appear to go up by a lot each town.
On the subject of an all-blue town, there's a small town in Spain that painted all the houses blue in celebration of the first Smurfs movie. Apparently the Smurfs are really big in parts of Europe.
Rewatching this series again so that I can make my boyfriend's first playthrough of this game amazing by telling him neat trivia and stuff. Than you for remaking this series! You put so much care into all of your LPs. Also a funny thing happened when he was going through the cave. He got the teddy bear drop on his first Mighty Bear. It's funny because I've played this game over 15 times and it hasn't happened to me. I guess he was lucky lol :D
I find this to be the final hard step of the early game. I've always had a struggle wrapping up and getting back to Twoson in one piece, didn't help that I missed the sanctuary spot beforehand. Then the rest of the game is very doable until Diamond Dog, then back to hell. Maybe not as bad as dealing with evil trees though.
@@teamgeno3459 that's not what I meant. I managed to get to Poo and Ness hadn't been homesick even once, while Chugga has had him get homesick multiple times..! Sometimes even on his way back to adventure after visiting home..!

Now, the best part of the day is five o clock PM to however long the video goes to, your videos are amazing Chuggaa, and they always brighten up my day. Keep up the good work.
Gods, I forgot that the mole had blood on his in-battle sprite. Wonder if it’s that of some unfortunate cultists who tried to run away... 0:55 Sorry, cheek pinching? Are you saying you want to be this guy’s dad? 1:06 Don’t read too much into that folks. If anything he’s been talking to Mike Pollock again. 2:20 Curious what Gen I version Emile had growing up. I’m sure kid Emile would’ve liked seeing everything Blue in Pokémon. 3:10 Still better than 1, as Emile would’ve once referenced when he would bring up “One is the Loneliest Number” a fair amount back in the day. Word gets around fast. 4:07 By weak, he means defensively. He did call her a *glass* cannon after all. 6:49 Fortunately the weakness chart for enemies isn’t nearly as complex as, say, Phantasy Star Online’s. 7:56 That’s honestly fascinating, though the only use I see out of it is with the Casey Bat...maybe... 8:55 Whatever you say, Vaike. 9:52 ...I never realized that. That’s...wow...well done. 10:28 Funny. With the +5 Speed, I think Ness would later benefit from it more. He could stand to be more accurate, and +1 Defense isn’t really that pivotal in comparison. Uh oh...someone’s homesick... 13:17 Beautifully illustrated in the Chosen Four comic too. 15:18 Strange thing is I don’t remember the bears giving me all that much trouble. Maybe it’s because of the grinding... He looks so pleasant though! 16:36 That would actually be in Part 2 of your LP, Emile. One of the Sharks that tried to interrupt your ending attempted to join the first fight with one but didn’t make it in time. 18:00 Guess I won’t be one of those fans then. I’m not insane enough to grind for pizzas that early on. 21:30 Hooray for suspend points. 22:09 Makes sense. He’s a mole after all. Moles and bright lights do not get along. 24:04 Good. Like it. 25:37 And most of your inventory. Curious to see which of the two attempts you’ll be continuing off of. 26:46 Don’t forget to let Everdread know she’s alright too.
Chugga, I’m having a rough rough terrible day out of my rough and terrible week...and all i wanted to say was thank you because you don’t know how much i needed to smile today. I can always count on you and your spirits to cheer me up but today was severely needed. Thank you for doing what you do Emile. Thank you so much for helping me smile on this dark day. You truly are a light. (gosh i sound cheesy, sorry for sounding cheesy)
I think Chugga having too much inventory space is becoming a running gag here... Now to get him to use classic gags from his first Earthbound LP: like, "For the love of Hillary Duff on a stick!"
I always thought that the reason that "your sanctuary" locations have quotation marks is because everyone who says your sanctuary is actually saying different words but Ness can only ever hear "your sanctuary" because of his psychic connection to the world
You made me go out and but this game on my Wii U, and I made it to Fourside in a day, with generous exploring and talking to NPCs. It's just so much fun and it's adorable
I've managed to be mature in this lp up until now, but I couldn't contain myself when he said 'you can only make the journey easier on yourself and on your PP by buying healing items'
When I was a kid I had a dragon plush that I thought was possessed by a ghost in my closet. This was actually before fnaf became a thing so I guess I was just a weird kid lol

spickey gombe It was. Earthbound came first though but, it goes to show this music is really creepy. Just want till you hear the cave of the past music...
I've beaten Earthbound three times, so I definitely know what it sounds like. The Paper Mario series has some creepy-sounding songs, specifically TTYD, SPM, and CS. There should be a playlist for creepy videogame music if there already isn't.

In my current Playthrough I completely forgot that the Lilliput Steps even existed. I only realized that when I was midway through the events in Fourside I checked the soundstone and noticed I had only sanctuaries one and three the only reminder I had was the Guardian Diggers who were the reskin bosses of the mole. When I got to the cave The first enemy ran up to me and I got a instant win and every enemy was nearly one shot by my attacks then when I got to the Boss I ONE SHOT HIM! He didn't even get in an attack.
Oh look, it's the third strongest mole!
...this will make sense later.
If you ask me, this mole is considerably weaker than the third strongest mole...
I just finished that. 😂😂
Ardomew yo! What if this mole is the 0th strongest mole?
Ardomew It's actually the missing 6th strongest mole... but it's still considered the third strongest.

You stoped it when he said "voice", you should have stoped it two seconds before.
i think i'm a little late on this but... CONGRATS ON 1 *BILLION* VIEWS :D
...i may have contributed to like a thousand of those, BUT STILL THAT'S A LOT OF PPL
Kari Lari I'm not Chugga but I'm glad to hear it and hope your week gets better
Jose Lagunes Thank you. and i hope you have a good week as well
Well, I'm glad I just finished watching the last episode!
You mean the one where a Steven Universe reference is made in title, description and comments section.
I think Chugga having too much inventory space is becoming a running gag here... Now to get him to use classic gags from his first Earthbound LP: like, "For the love of Hillary Duff on a stick!"
Huh, thought Homesickness was based on how long you've been playing the game. Learned that it's actually level probability, neat.
Big Sis Shiro I think they wanted you to think that, so they gave Ness' mom a lot to say.
Averey Nakama Well it definitely worked!
I always thought that the reason that "your sanctuary" locations have quotation marks is because everyone who says your sanctuary is actually saying different words but Ness can only ever hear "your sanctuary" because of his psychic connection to the world
“Paula is out of PP” I think Ness can fix that problem
Apparently their official ages are 13 and 11, so...
In the eyes of the internet, age don’t matter
Depressed Homo Sapien That is sadly true

CitrusKnight ooooh boy
You made me go out and but this game on my Wii U, and I made it to Fourside in a day, with generous exploring and talking to NPCs. It's just so much fun and it's adorable
we’re MOOving on to the next step on the adventure
haha im so funny
I've managed to be mature in this lp up until now, but I couldn't contain myself when he said 'you can only make the journey easier on yourself and on your PP by buying healing items'
When I was a kid I had a dragon plush that I thought was possessed by a ghost in my closet. This was actually before fnaf became a thing so I guess I was just a weird kid lol
Gratz on a billion views, still remember when all hope looked lost when your and NCS's channel got taken down during the false flag wars many many years ago. Can't imagine my life without the endless enjoyment I have gotten from your videos over the years.
There were no gay baby jails in this episode.
Gay baby jail dry streak: 11
I wish ness could BLJ.
Paula can.
Ramen_Soda
You aren’t Jet!!!
Why are you here, I'm happy, but why...
what?
wild starfish try asking my dad simpleflips
THIS AIN'T JET,THE PIPLUP GUY!
Bit random but congrats on 1 billion views on RUclips Chuggaa and 12 years. I started watching your videos back in 2008 after randomly finding your videos out of pure chance and I haven't stopped since (I was 8 at the time) thanks for giving us such a wonderful 12 years
2:15 Chugga the last member of the Happy Cult
I remember missing this sanctuary spot. I came back to the spot later.
I guess we won’t have serious moments be ruined again for a while...
edit: i spoke too early
"don't mess with the bears"
Me who can single turn them if I get a surprise attack: Guess I got lucky
Does anyone feel that the dungeon/cave theme inside Lilliput Steps sounds like something from a horror game?
I know it isn't really a horror game, and it's really old, but I'm sure it was in Sonic.exe.
spickey gombe It was.
Actually, this is the sound of a bell slowed down A LOT. But yeah, this is frightening. Sounds like Satan trying to call you....
I have a feeling that when he gets to threed, his fledgling to say, "threeds a crowd" or something
That bear had to do it to em
Thanks for this, this helped me calm down as my home is on the edge of a nasty storm that's already sparked a few fires.
CHUGGAA CADETS.. *ASSEMBLE*
CADET 1 REPORTING FOR DUTY SIR!
Easternlime 363 CADET 3 REPORTING FOR DUTY
WE NEED 4 MORE CADETS FOR ORDERS. STANDBY.
Easternlime 363 ... SIR
Someone make this a show
really loved watching this when you were releasing these videos and have comeback for the walkthrough as i own earthbound now :D! missed the second melody so i had to backtrack to figure it out, thank you for being awesome :)!!
best series ever
We don't speak of those people.
"Buying healing items will make it easier on you"
yeah cool
"and your pp"
oh uh... you sure you were thinking there mr. pp?
Paula OP confirmed
Paula gets better later on. Poo/Pu is (arguably) a hell of a lot stronger when he joins.
Steel4 I'll put it in final fantasy terms ness is a white mage though with his tankyness closer to a Pallidin paula is a black mage jeff is a machinist and poo is a red mage
Ben Sell, some would say poo is a brown mage...
I think Poo/Pu is a Monk with bits of Red Mage thrown in.
Who WOULDN'T be homesick when you have a mom with a sexy voice teasing you back home? Rowrr!!
NOOOOOO! How dare you Ness!!
THE BLU BLUK BLAN SHALL RISE AGAIN!
The B.B.B will have it’s revenge one day!
Muahahahahah!
Bbb? I might be missing something... is that a kkk reference?
Not the Better Business Bureau!

Chuggaaconroy is my spirit animal. :3
14:28
Did that bear poop out bat!?
Wow, this game really does stink...
Chuggaa-Chuggaa-Chuggaa-Chuggaa-Choo-Choo!
Oh, I never noticed the music playing in Mondo Mole's battle is one of the battle themes from Beginnings. Neat!
Items make it easy on your PP.
Noki Bay, still my favorite stage in Sunshine for ten years running.
With the help of paralysis, the second sanctuary boss can be completely *moled* over!
Chugga's voice at 1:28 has a musical pattern to it and it kind of awakens the band nerd in me when i notice it😊
Notif arrived later than I did.
*W R O N G*
Mighty Bears have a 1/64 chance of dropping... a regular teddy bear I believe. The 1/128 super plush bear is a different enemy later on.
Hey if Paula's last name is Deen then I guess you can say Pokey Calibrary Cuffed her!
Her last name is either Jones or Polestar
Paula's last name is actually Jones.
Funniest EarthBound video I've seen yet, and it's not even an abridged thing. You never fail to make me laugh Emile!
