Italian cheese burgers were the best growing up mid 70-80’s… You can’t find these burgers anywhere else but in Orange & Brick City Newark, New Jersey!!! ❤️

I have been a customer of Sandwiches Unlimited in Orange,NJ since the 80's. The menu has something for everyone. My favorite is the Italian Turkey Cheeseburger and the Wing Dings. All of the desserts are good along with a great variety of Potato Chips and Drinks... Thank you JL for showing them love in the video... Sandwiches Unlimited is the go to spot for many of us. As a teen sandwiches was my spot, chopped salads and Italian cheeseburgers were legendary! Salute for bringing back good memories!

Takes me back to my Essex Catholic days. Early 90s The Flavor Unit days. Italian cheeseburger banana pudding or sweet potato pie for dessert. Sometimes a Little Debbie from a neighborhood deli. Main St. Location. Felt like a king eat there with friends. Great memories. Gotta go visit and grub.
Live in Philly now, cheesesteaks are cool but I'll make a trip back home just for an Italian cheeseburger or hot pastrami. I grew up on these delicious sandwiches.
Don't forget there's another sandwiches unlimited right there on Central Avenue they make killer food too all right check them out I'm not throwing no names or you'll be pleasantly surprised

In Cali 12 years now, I don't eat beef or chicken anymore for years now, however when I go back home Sandwiches Unlimited in Orange or Newark a hot pastrami sandwich is MUST..!!!!!

Another great video. I haven't been to Sanwiches Unlimited in close to 15 years and I still remember how fire their sandwiches and chef salads are. The chef salad with the fried chicken is just 👌🤌. If you ever stop by there again you definitely should try their fried chicken chef salad.

I’ve tried to recreate those chopped salads at home but there’s a special element that you can only get at that spot. Maybe it’s the love!❤️
Lived a few blocks over in EO years ago and this place was a favorite! The salads are delicious! And “Italian” anything is a can’t beat eat!

I'm so inspired by you and all your adventures. i thought i had a broad appetitie, but am clearly outnumbered! i spent 26 years in NYC and only ate in NJ a few times, what a dang shame :( i also visited Philly, only a handfull of times and missed so many possibilities! all i wanna do is come back East for a few weeks & visit as many of JL's suggestions as possible in NJ & Philly!!! i don't need "fancy" NYC food, i need GOOD FOOD :) BTW, it's 9:30am where i m & i was gonna make some eggs & sausage sandwhich but now i want a HOAGIE/HERO!!! KEEP UP THE WONDERFUL WORK :)

That a true classic Italian cheese burger right there, and the pastrami is also done the right way. That Italian cheeseburger, cheesesteak, and hotdog are all Newark/north Jersey signatures.

Yeah man that’s the newest location even though it’s been there for a minute. There’s another one in a East Orange. Italian cheeseburgers are a thing out here. And their chopped salads are on point!!!
The one in East Orange ripped me off. Ordered two Italian hotdog an they charged me extra for the French fries on them, never went their again

Classic spot here!! When I lived in EO in and Newark in the 70’s and 80’s this one and the the one that was in EAst Orange on Main st. Behind EO hs was a favorite.
That’s great you talk about the tastes of,of what you’re eating.it gives the people fill of what there eating. The burger had all the flavor and right ingredients to make a great meal,but your right it needed some heat. The pastrami looks the ingredients point on,there’s a understanding with the workers on who everything will tastes look,and flavor, and that shows the love heart and soul on why people love there food so much.
I can just tell those sandwiches were amazing. Love that you focus on food that isn't "gourmet". Just good old great tasting food!

Wow! Yezzz! Takes me back to the 90s!! East Orange had one as well. My favorite was the corned beef and the way they chopped their salads. *Toledo Base* in Paterson is rockin as well.. next time I'm in North Jersey I'm going to hit both spots* man you got to hit also *Taormina Pizza* Madison Ave Paterson it's the best pie in the world.. let them know Demetrie told you to go.. also Cooper's* in Newark .OMG***

Hey Randy!!!! I used to work here and came back to visit with my son and Mr. Graves aka Randy (the owner) was there and gave my son a tour. Randy has supported and continues to support the community with employment opportunities for everyone and through charity. The food here is great and worth every cent. Excellent quality, clean and delicious!!! Please try their chef salad as it is one of the staples of the store! Many many thanks and blessings to Randy Graves!!!
I grew up going to the Sandwiches Unlimited in East Orange. Been good since I was going to Franklin School, now called the Whitney Houston Academy. I'm now 41and live in Tampa Bay! I haven't had an Italian cheeseburger in over 15 years! Now the cravings are back 😩
Cats be sleeping on the oil and vinegar. Throw that joint on a chopped cheese w lettuce and tomato and you’re good money. Goes back to the old school Blimpie’s days.

That place looks super clean and the employees were seemed very intuitive and engaged. If you see someone is reviewing your few it only makes sense to ask them how it is and to showcase what you do. I totally need to make a trip

Sandwiches Unlimited could improve their service by putting your order in computer and adding monitors for the chefs to look at. Whenever I go to sandwiches unlimited I have to say my order 100 times. It would be great if customers could say their order once and the chefs could just look on a screen to check the order instead of constantly asking the customer what their order is.

Dang though $44.00 and some change for 2 sandwiches and two pops is sort of EXPENSIVE though. Looks hella good though..Quality food and the staff does seem real nice..
One (pretty damn good) prime rib sandwich at Eataly in NYC - half the size of the ICB or pastrami in NJ - is $32. Plus tax & tip.

There was a Hot Sub shop in my neighborhood back in the 80's and it was phenomenal but with the location and no online following it closed down I will Never Forget you Hot Subs!! 😭😭

Miss this place so much, my favorite were the Italian cheese burger, turkey and roast beef with Swiss cheese in a sandwich or chef salad and the chicken cutlet with cheese.

You know what we get everything from Sandwiches Unlimited but sandwich’s 😂 Don’t get me wrong, I have had them and they are good, but they have a full catering menu, and that is my family’s go to for Thanksgiving, birthday parties, meetings and funeral repasts! Our guests are always impressed 😉
