i love how a lot of these items are usually a stereotype of being pretentious--a film camera, a fountain pen, classic novels--but he talks about all of them with such genuine interest and attachment that it doesnt seem pretentious at all
Well said! Most people on here who have those similar items somehow feel less genuine about why they have it. Like they think they should so they bring it but he actually gets joy out of them and uses them often.
He has such a calm and relaxing voice, he needs to voice one of those sleeping apps lol. I also love how he's the polar opposite of the characters he plays, it's a real testament to his acting skills.
I've watched quite a few of these 10 things essentials, and in almost every one of them there is always a comment like yours, where they exalt the actor or athlete's humbleness by the simple products they consider essential. It's gotten to the point where it's more unique to be more materialistic lol.
He’s a bit of an old soul. And you can tell he’s almost a bit embarrassed by his fame and that he takes his craft very seriously. Respect to this gorgeous artist
Usually, a lot of artists on this show bring things that are completely unused/untouched. Especially journals and books. But I liked that you could see that he was actually using these things. Also, seems like he is really invested in the image of an artist and therefore is very influenced by that. For example, carrying the cards, or the history of the watch.
Or when artists bring in their film camera, and say the whole pretentious reason of shooting on that format is the reason why they love film. But you know Jacob actually has a passion for cinema & film.
Jacob is in many ways a very analog guy and I like that about him a lot. He likes hard copies, tangible reminders. We get so used to seeing tech as one or multiple essentials so it's refreshing that he is anchored by more simple and attainable things. And anyone who has pen preferences is ok in my book.
All of these things could be so pretentious but you can tell he has a spiritual and emotional attachment to all of them and that makes this kind of show and tell so genuine. I love seeing this
There’s nothing more satisfying then watching an interview of someone who u can feel is truly genuine! I’ve been following Jacob since 2018 but he’s remained so true to himself, I admire it so much. He’s one of the few celebrities who takes time to answer the questions, and who gives truthful answer. Though he’s still very reserved he’ll break down his walls in interviews sometimes and it’s so cool to watch!
jacob is one of the most real and genuine celebrities . i love listening to him talk because he’s just so normal and has such a good head on his shoulders .
I just fell in love HARD for this man. He’s literally the type of guy I would go crazy about, I mean the camera, the silver rings, the watercolors, his dog Layla? Perfection
i hope he receives much more appreciation, bcuz he actually seems like a down-to-earth, generous, and kind person and not aggressive like in the role he plays.
I absolutely love Jacob and this video. I also love how much of an old soul he is and how his stuff shows that. It’s so cool that his dog is his best friend just like mine too.
broooo you can really see how much he values his craft...so professional but also so humble...you're so smart jacob elordi i think i like you even more
Such a great interview! Jacob seems like the type of friend you can talk to for hours about anything and everything. AND he’s a Harry Potter fan?! Love him even more now! 😭❤️
I love how passionately he speaks. I'm pretty sure this is the first interview I've seen of him i think those are my favorites i like seeing his personality show compared to a character
There’s something naive about him, in an endearing way. He seems to be buying and getting certain things simply because someone he admires (especially an actor/director) has done the same thing. If Heath Ledger had the that camera, then I’ll have the same camera. If Kubrick wore that watch, then I’ll wear one too. You can tell he’s an eager young actor and wants to acquire a certain respect in the field. As I’ve said, naive but in a very endearing way.
Now he understands times changed. He bought ab$50 tote bag and I love it how he said he feels bad for buying such a expensive tote. He understands value of money I am amazed now even some actors feels our daily pains how to are ends week.
There is absolutely nothing that would be added by a series remake of the already classic movie. If you want to experience the story in a new then I bet you haven’t read the original book, so you could do that.
It's Nice to find a young actor who Thinks. You can tell he's a little embarrassed about sharing his 'Essentials' by the 'flush'. I look forward to his Future Projects.
As someone who was just in the ER yesterday, I stan someone who always has a book on them. Also I have so much in common with him? I also shoot medium format and firmly believe my Yashica is the best camera in the world
I don‘t know anything about this guy but he‘s so charming.. i watch these kind of video format alot and he managed to put so much personality in this it‘s incomparable to anyone i‘ve watched. He‘s actually interesting to listen to i mean he says stuff that has substance haha and is interesting etc. Such a unique character. I‘ll ne checking out his stuff 100% i enjoyed this alot. He‘s so young too like howw? So much personality👍🏻
I love how grounded and intimate his choices are..meanwhile everyone else’s essentials are like White Claw beers and Mr Sasquatch soaps🥴…obvious sponsors
I loved the way he talks about his dog Layla. It seems to me that he love her so much and respect her more than everything in this world. Now he changed my mind about him. Thank u for this amazing video GQ! 🥰

like his $10000 watch?
Like a bandana that he had to search for and ended up getting in Paris, when it just looks like a regular bandana?

that little tote bag story was so real and relatable, idk I found it very endearing :) seems like a good guy
He’s the exact opposite of his Euphoria character! He’s such an amazing actor!!
And gentleman
Jacob has a really good head on his shoulder and I love how he's intouch with the characters that he plays
His dating history makes him look like a Playboy but watching him like this, feels like he is straight Outta novel.
GQ is smart for changing the title a year later 😂

I love how he’s the complete opposite of his character in Euphoria
Also he gained a bit of American accent naturally on top of his Australian accent
This is such a calming, comforting video. He has a remarkably soothing voice and personality.

He would be great in an American Psycho Netflix series remake.
An American Psycho Series sounds so good…. Tho I don’t know if netflix is the right choice. They are known to not respect the source material.

For some reason, this particular one felt quite genuine.
Love how GQ are changing the titles to “Saltburn’s Jacob Elordi” as if they need more views
This is called marketing, it is very common in this environment.
He has a very deep soul. His looks are lovely, but he has so much so much more to offer.
“I have too many tote bags…” Me everytime I buy a tote I do not need. 😂
