    Great interview! After 10 years, I’ve lost a lot of hope and fed up with the healing & self help world, all feels like they’re trying to sell me something. I’ve cut back on all the healing modalities and just doing things that are fun, and are personal for me like drawing, singing, dancing and concentrating on trauma therapy. I found a-lot of these healing therapies were very adult and felt like chores, I like your prescription of watching comedy or even things that are comforting! Sometimes you need to go back to basic, feels like I’m at the start again but at least I’ve learnt alot!

    Raelan and Rachel, you ladies are gems! I am on my M.E./CFS recovery journey, but I just cannot imagine coaching other chronically ill people at this point.😞 I do coach chronically ill educators through the school system disability retirement process. That’s all I can handle right now. And humor! Yes, Rachel! I watch Shuler King comic shorts daily! I also feed the grackles at WalMart. Peace and love to all!🔆♥️🔆

    Thank you very much for this interview. It has meant a lot to hear about the trauma of the disease itself. A few months ago I felt that I was developing post-traumatic stress disorder due to the terrible symptoms of the disease, which are continuous torture, as well as the medical visits, the tests, the bureaucracy to obtain disability, etc. It is really necessary to talk about it and know how to deal with and overcome it. After 3 years of devastating disease, thanks to this youtube channel I am beginning to find out how I got where I am and, most importantly, how I can get healed. I am infinitely grateful for this channel and all the people who share their experiences to help others. Thank you Raelan for this amazing work and this wonderful help.

    Really interesting to watch. The childhood trauma resonated with me, I've had counselling for depression in the past. The therapist identified it all stemmed from a difficult childhood. Is that the link perhaps between ME/CFS? I need to explore this more, perhaps more healing is to be done. Thank you Rachel and Raelan.

    • @rachd4794
      @rachd4794 Год назад +1

      Yes, definitely. Stress/trauma can lead to chronic illnesses. The ACE study is something to look at. Here are some other people you may want to look into who have good insight on trauma and the nervous system: Irene Lyon (has a RUclips channel), Peter Levine, Bessel Van Der Kolk, Laurence Heller, and Gabor Mate. Another thing to look at is Top Down vs Bottom Up therapy to find what is right for you (a combination of both would be best). Hope this helps 😊!

I liked Friends too, but sometimes w/ depression, I couldn't help comparing their happy life, being together, healthy and being out and then there was my life. Sometimes w/ depression, comedies almost make it worse. I do find kitten, kid, some type of happy or silly short can help at times. Even if it's not a laugh, a smile is much better than not.

    Amalgam removal doesn't make you feel worse at all. I wasted 2 years of my life keeping a broken tooth because it had amalgam and I couldn't find someone specialized in removing them. Then I got to à point where I was about to lose my tooth so I had to go do it anyways. The anxiety build up before doing that procedure sent me into a crash. The amalgam never did anything. I was so tense and so scared because I had all those stupid ideas about the procedure being toxic. It was all lies. I just traumatized myself for no reason lollll. It never made me worse. In fact after I ditched all these holistic ideas away I started feeling better. I realized that it is all emotional and all from anxiety!!! As much as the holistic medicine is trying to help all it is doing is making us worse.i wish I never knew what holistic was!!!

    Interesting. Unfortunately, after checking out website, its much too expensive. Also, often you hav'nt got the bandwidth for facebook groups, sessions of this , group calls of that, these comprehensive programmes seem to forget that when you're really overwhelmed you can barely brush your teeth. I've done a lot of eft over the years and , sadly , did not do it for me. My trauma, and constantly stressed out nervous system is the problem, so i agree with her on that. But meditation, breathwork, etc. They just do not work. Im kind of giving up really now, 40 years of it. Think i'm done. I would just like to edit this, and profoundly thank all the kind people who have responded to me. XX i think my new year resolution is to not to watch any more recovery stories by anyone who is ,essentially selling their courses.

But when it came to paying with my debit card, it turned out she only accepted credit cards. I was devastated, and i begged her team to show me some flexibility, but they completely refused to help. I offered a direct bank transfer. But no. It was blatant discriminatory policy. Like, you can buy my courses, but only if you are a middle class professional with a credit card. So not very impressed with her attitude, which is a shame because trauma is at the root of my problems i am sure. There is a lot of free content. I will have to do my best with that.
