- A felon described as "extremely dangerous and violent" is on the run after walking away from a halfway house in Orange County - again.
According to the Orange County District Attorney's Office, Ike Souzer, 20, was released from custody Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to one count of felony vandalism.

He was sentenced to 90 days in county jail credit time and placed on formal probation for two years. The DA's office said Souzer checked into Project Kinship in Santa Ana, a halfway house that helps convicted criminals re-enter society after their release, but left and never returned. Why is a killer in a halfway house and not prison?
Probably because he was a juvenile when he committed the murder. The justice system believes in second chances. But not everyone deserves a second chance.

Because his prison term was over. He had a 90 day jail term to complete. Someone in the System determined he was suitable to complete his County time in a halfway house. Soooo he was cleared to finish his time outside of jail yet the DA says the community is only safe when he's behind bars 🤔

The prosecutor tried. Was against this and requested that he serve all of his County time in jail. The Judge disagreed and the criminal won.

He served his prison time. Dept of Corrections has nothing to do with this. He had 90 days County jail time to complete. Either a judge or someone within the O. C. Sheriff's Dept didn't consider him 'dangerous and a menace' since he was allowed to complete his term in a half way house.

He had already completed his prison term for the murder. Given the short sentence, he most likely was not prosecuted as an adult. If you're looking for accountability you're going to need to go back in time and start there.
