Same as I used on ours. Let it fully harden for 24 hours before adding any oil - no more leaks from ours since the RTV was used

That wasn't as bad a job as i thought it would be ,and i was surprised that RTV was factory used . It is nice to see the Mini is getting good care as you put a lot of time into it .

Yeah really not too bad on this car!

I recommend using axle stands when working under the car. Those plastic ramps are not safe. I had one collapse under the weight of the car. Luckily, I was not under the car at the time.

Pretty sure these are rated to 3 tonnes per ramp.. They're not cheap chinese ones!

Thank you for sharing this how to! I was thinking of using a sealant along with a new gasket. Is that a good idea or better to just use sealant?

There is a technical service bulletin for this car that states that the gasket must not be used, because the oil pan becomes deformed after removal. That's why it leaked. I'm about to replace mine using liquid sealant as well.

You definitely need some kind of a car lifter. I'm very sorry to see you struggling like that 😢

That's the plan man.. Gotta save up for the garage first though!

I always use a light smear of RTV on any paper gaskets and never had a problem.. Let the attacks begin 😂

I can't see it hurting so why not!

Will an oil pan leakage make the engine smoke???

    • @Challenger380aak

If the leak is over the flex pipe then , yes it will smoke. My car has this problem now. Ill be doing this DIY next week

Next week i will make the gasket like you have shown in the video. I spent $900 replacing gaskets. Its a shame, Mini engineers can never make their cars perfect.
