You really want to add a UV protection coating after polishing it. The reason old headlights really start to haze and yellow is the protective coating wears off the plastic. Once you sand/polish it all of it is removed, so if you don't add a UV protective coast back on it, they will haze and yellow again much faster than they did from the factory, and you will have to keep on doing it over and over regularly.
I finally got around to doing this today, worked great went pretty quick (under an hour) for doing 2 headlamps on a pickup.
Nice! Glad to hear it!
This is over $400 worth of sandpaper and pads... I already have an RO 90, but I'm going to need to polish about 15 cars worth of headlights for this to make any sense. Maybe I just need to find more stuff to polish...?
Great video !
Hey, where can I get a Festool jacket like that? Thx
Nice video as always!!!but I wouldnt start in rotex mode with a 400 on a headlamp.Imo :)
Love Festool, even considered using my RO90, but a 3M kit including a UV clear coat is $13 and works very well. Perhaps in a professional setting buying the grits and polish would make sense.
Nice video enjoy everything you guys do.
I have the big Rotex 6 inch, I got it to refinish old table tops but I didn’t know you could use it for polishing, I’ll be trying it out soon.
Did you polish your headlamp with the 6"
@@webtheweb no, I used it to polish an epoxy bar top 30 ft, long to a mirror finish.
Any chance this process could be used on automotive paint finish?
what materials were used?
I dont see as well much difference, definitely not crystal clear or is it just bad camera? :/
Yeah if you look at the headlight/lamp before the treatment and after (or the 'after' compared to the other headlight) there is basically no difference. Sad that they didn't pick up on this.
Does the dust chute come off of this model? Or is that only for the 150?
Right light on video is way better
Would like to see how you would polish a cars window
Is that a dual action machine?
What is the model number of that machine?
Have you ever used toothpaste?
👍👍👍
"See you soon"? Does that bode ill for a show on October 29, 2021? A week without Festool Friday is like like a day without sunshine. 😟
Terrible demonstration. Really not much difference
