Hello Dear Friends and welcome back,
For this month’s project I have created a diorama showing battle between a pirate ship and an english sailing ship.
In order to create this diorama I have used the 2 plastic model sailing ships at 1/350 scale.
The ships were painted with acrylic colours and were glued on a round wooden base with UV resin.
I painted the pirate ship black so look like "Black Pearl" from the movie "Pirates of Caribbean" with Johnny Depp
    as Captain Jack Sparrow.
I didnt like the plastic sails that were included in the model kits, so I have decided to use tea bags for the sails.
In addition I decided to put a lot of rigging on the ships which was a difficlut task which took a lot of time.
The ocean diorama was made by clear epoxy resin, and the ocean waves were formed by transparent and white silicone.
I have made the explosions with cotton balls and illuminated them with LED lights operated by 3 AAA batteries.
I really like this diorama and hope you will like it as well.
Until next time I wish you all the best,
    Many thanks

I caught that, too. It looks like the fore topmast staysail... and yes, the clew (the part where the sheets, or controlling lines, attach) should rest higher than the tack (the part where the bottom corner of the staysail anchors to the stay). Basically, he flipped it... but that's an entirely forgivable mistake when working at such a small scale. Easy to overlook.

Attention at the very beginning of the film about warnings is not applicable in most countries (about 120), where children as young as 6 years old belong to modeling clubs and are able to handle "chemical materials"
and at the age of 13 I personally received a master's degree in floating model making for making a 16th-century English galleon ...
but in America there are mostly idiots .... so understandable

    • @averagearchergaming
      @averagearchergaming 4 года назад

@@ceekay8718 , if I can parse what they said, I think they were suggesting placing small cannonballs in-flight between the ships for added detail. It sounds like they proposed using small, thin, clear acrylic dowel rods stuck into the surface of the water, atop of which one could glue tiny cannonballs. Not a horrible idea altogether, although in my opinion not a great one either, as there would be no way to make the dowels truly invisible, and thus the illusion would likely be spoiled.
It sounds like Devil strawberry Slayer 12199 was using voice dictation rather than typing, and their parsing software couldn't quite deliver.

Beautiful work. My only input if you decide to do fighting sail in the future is to rig the sails in "fighting trim" where the lower mainsails on the masts are hauled up (not used). 99% of sailing ships trimmed their sails before entering combat. The exceptions being an opponent trying to flee, but then they wouldn't be so close broadside to each other.

Nice, however pirates favoured smaller ships so they could get in and out quickly. Plus the smaller ships could out run heavy war ships. But your concept is nice.

Yeah, they clearly based the Black Swan off of the Black Pearl. If and when I get it, I am painting it up like the Black Pearl. Amazing work by the way! And some of the shots look like they are from a live action movie!

Wow i like it a lot. But i have 2 critics / improvements for you:
    1. The Epoxy isnt complete round. In comparison to the Wood Ground Plate, it doesn’t look perfekt.
I think it would be cool when there are a few Shots who missed the Target. Because Ships are always firing a complete Battery salve. So there has to be like 10 Shots fired at the same Time. The Cannonballs who doesn’t hit the target could make som Splatters and waves on the Water.
But thats just improvements on a really high level. In my opinion the Diorama is nearly Perfect. I just think when there are these improvements it is godlike.

As many of these dioramas I have watched being created, they all about the half way point look terrible and then like a hail mary pass at the end of the big game , TOUCHDOWN! Just an amazing job.

Awesome. Also Zvezda models are far more detailed, than Ravel or Italeri ones. At least there is no missing parts, or wrongly shaped ones. but, once again beautiful.
