Absolute Spitzenarbeit
Absolutely amazing work. And adding the sunlight effect to the sides, instead of just covering it with wood or paint, is one of the many tiny details that sets you aside as a master of your craft sir
Dude I love your idea of the light coming in on the side of the diorama and the implementation is great. Really great work on the whole project. Hats off
The fact that you made it so detailed that you created in-scale figures for this diorama is incredible. Shows how much of a game-changer 3D printers can be for hobbyists working in very small scale.
Im amazed when you print the crewmen. When I saw how small they were in relation to the ship, then I was just blown away. If I ever go into making one, then I dont think I would be able to do that o.o
You are an artist extraordinaire! Thank you for sharing your wonderful builds. I Have been modeling for over 50 years and I am still learning something new every day. Thank you again.
Absolutely LOVE what you did with the light playing through the “sea” on the side of the diorama; the whole thing is brilliant, but that one touch takes it to the next level!! : )
That is an intense scene. Really like the details and nuances you included like the signal ropes, the damage control team fighting the fire in turret A and the spent shell and propellant casings.
Amazing. the details are awesome. add the tiny shells leaving the gun fire. these sells were so big that at times they could actually be seen leaving the gun blast.
I am about to start on my first ship diorama, HMS Scorpion - one of the destroyers that fired torpedoes at Scharnhorst and slowed her down enough for HMS Duke of York to catch her. My wife's grandfather served on HMS Scorpion at the battle of North Cape, on many artic convoy escorts and when she provided naval gunfire support on and after D-Day.
Well I'm not an expert in the events of Scharnhorst loss, but it strikes me that both main and secondary gun barrels are in a very elevated position. For a ship within torpedo range I would expect her fighting off destroyers at much closer range. The high elevation does however add to the dramatic effect of the diorama. Apart from this it looks very, very impressive! 👏
Her main guns aren’t aiming for the destroyers, they’re going for HMS Duke of York - the arguably bigger threat given her 14” guns can easily penetrate through Scharnhorst’s armour.
Absolutely fantastic and amazing work but if you add lights inside the windows and create mini soldiers who jump from the ship or jump from one of the explosions will be much better. Otherwise you are my top modeller in you tube.
😮 Blimey! Amazing! One thing, though. The torpedoes have left trails on the surface... wouldn't there be cavitation bubbles underwater beneath the surface trail? They could be added to those nifty sides to the diorama. Hardcore modelling, dude!
Epic work! Im building scharnhorst 1/200 but i can’t stand the yellow turrets on my own project. Its like drop your bombs here. I know Scharnhorst painted their turrets yellow in territorial waters. And when they sail out they repainted them. Any sugesstions?
When the world needs him, he comes back! Damned ! I was waiting for that one ! You’re the best modeler I’ve ever seen man ! Congrats ! Just one question; whats the brand of the magic sculpte you used for the sea ?
im trying to make a scifi scene in a marsh, but im on an oval base and i can't really change it. I've virtually no experience so I'm kindof in the research phase rn. What would be ideal in your opinion with 1.5" or roughly 38mm deep water a mech is running through?

I am speechless, this battle was brutal and this diorama captures it amazingly, the moment you were designing the sailors my jaw dropped

Well that's about as good as a battle diorama ever gets. Exceptionally good modelling. Thank you.
