  • Hey fellow surf lovers, today we'll be reviewing the Driver 2.0 by Lost Surfboards. This board is recommended as your one board quiver. It's not a groveller, but is able to grovel when the waves are over 2ft, even in the round tail I've owned. For Rounder turns and bigger punchier waves, go the round tail. For more speed and squirt in your turns, go the squash.
    Conditions: 2-6 ft
    Fins I recommend:
    Futures: JJF (Medium) Speed Generating
    Futures: Am2's (Medium) Raked

I'm jumping from a Pyzel Gremlin 6"6 44LT down to a more performance oriented board for my everyday surf. Do you recon this board is a good option for someone with just 2years of surfing experience or do you think it is a bit of an overstep ? What abou the Lost Sub Driver 2.0? That has a bit more volume. Does i t keep the same feeling?

I would say since you’ve ridden the Gremlin, you would be best going the sub driver 2.0 (1-4ft) over the driver 2.0, as it’ll be easier to paddle with more foam under the chest. If you want a short board for medium to overhead days (2-6ft), go the Driver 2.0, but, it’s less user friendly if that helps 👍

@@jakesboardreviews Thanks a lot .. think the sub driver 2.0 makes more sense then.

can't wait to get a Mayhem one day. lots of shake in those surfing clips - try the stabilizing feature in your video editor. love to see the surf clips though. keep at it kid - you're the next Noel Salas ;)

Thanks mate, you’re a legend. Appreciate the tips and advice. We had quite a bit of a heavy onshore East wind that day, hence why the camera footage was shakey. Mayhems are top boards 👍

Out of curiosity would you recommend this board over the inferno 72?

At the moment, I’m not to sure. They both have their strong points in different conditions. I think the Driver 2.0 has slightly better paddle power. When I grab a set of Kolohes or Toledo’s for the Sharpeye, I’ll do a comparison video of the two boards.

It's a stock 5'11 at 28 Litres. I would go a smaller size nowadays, and drop down to a 5'10.

I think that this is a HPSB and the testing you have done on these kind of waves is just not being fair to this type of shape of the board

Hey mate, I agree, conditions were average, but, I test every board I review in a large range of conditions from 1-5 ft at beach breaks, point breaks and hollow punchy waves. All these reviews are fair and unbiased so you guys can purchase the right equipment that suits you and what you’re looking for and wanting to get out of it.
