@@Bayazid_Bustami Depends what you're after. If you really want to play the Playsation exclusives, and play in full 4K 120fps I would hold out for the PS5. If you are after a budget friendly option, prefer the Xbox exclusives and don't mind playing upscaled 4K then go for the Series S. Just be aware of the storage capacity of the Series S. Hope this helps.
As a poor gamer who can even barely afford a ps4 last gen... Series S is heaven sent for me. Can't believe I'm now playing latest gen titles with gamepass for cheap
Same here. I love the Series S. I've had it almost since it came out, and I haven't had any issues with it. Game Pass is amazing, too. I also love how easy it is to travel with because of the size.
I've just grabbed one a couple of weeks ago now and I'm absolutely thrilled with it, it's great value for money and doesn't feel like a compromise at all either - still really powerful. I have a high refresh rate monitor and games running at 120fps truly feels next gen. No regrets.
Am honestly contemplating on getting one just to play older games and some of the few Xbox exclusives that interest me like Halo and Sea of Thieves. I mainly play all games that are multi platform on my PS5 and the Series S would make a great combo to go along with it to play those older games that I can’t play on my PS5.
I was in the exact same position and definitely have no regrets. I even find that I’m playing the series S more than the PS5 at the moment just because of the selection of games on Game Pass.
Don't forget Microsoft sells an Expansion Drive of 512GB as well on their website. It was a cheaper way to get the fast storage for my Series S and holds all the games I want when I want to travel with it. I also have the Series X but I am really impressed with the S. Putting it on a 43" 1080p TV it looks really good. It doesn't scale great on a 4K screen and you can really tell the power difference between it and the X in the resolution department but on the 1080p display it's hardly noticeable and looks great. I have a One X around as well and the S is even an improvement over that as well. Things just play smoother with higher frame rates. The One X has better image quality in certain games but I'm not sure it's worth it as a trade off for the quality of life improvements of the Series S.
I think the issue with the expansion drive for a lot of people, is the cost, which is almost as much as the Series S itself. However, I do agree if you have the budget it's a great solution and gives you the fastest storage option. The Series S is great for anyone looking to get into next-gen gaming on a budget, there are going to be compromises when comparing it to the Series X but it's to be expected with paying half the price. I think the cost to value it's very hard to beat at the moment. Thanks for the comment!
@@SemplistYT The 512GB drive being just less than half the cost of the Series S at $140.00 is the limit I was willing to spend and Microsoft really needs to let more drive manufacturers create options. Competition will lower the prices and help everyone.

Great review! Waiting for my console thats supposed to deliver tomorrow. A question for you: For countries where the series S is overpriced and where cloud gaming might not be available right now (India), how does it affect the value of the Series S?
I am from India and I can say that it does not affect. I have owned a XSS for more than 1 year now. Marginal high price is just a short term inconvience as a console is a long term investment. After few months you stop thinking about it. The value of Game Pass just offsets it.

You are effectively getting next gen capabilities for half of the price (even if you are paying slightly more). That along with Game Pass, you can't go wrong at all.

One thing to consider. With the Switch your going to pay premium prices for
games. Most Nintendo games stay at their original price for years not months.
Where as Xbox and Playstation games are frequently discounted. Just one
factor to consider.
@@GregHakes i totally agree Greg, great point.
Just think the NEXT next gen console will be 4k standard let's say the S and the X will be 8k
Definitly, it will be crazy what the next release of consoles have to offer.
Will he reply? And if so how is your day
I always do! And great thanks, how is yours?
@@SemplistYT I’m doing good 👍
Have you ever played nba2k on it?
No I haven't had the chance!
Thank you
You're welcome, thanks for the comment!
@@SemplistYT I just got one yesterday it’s amazing! I haven’t upgraded in 17 years (Xbox One)!
I made sure I bought one so tht I can play and buy next gen games .
Great choice, hope you're enjoying it!
No optical drive means I will never buy one, wtf am I supposed to do with all my blu ray movies and dvds?
That is an issue for people who still prefer physical media. The shift is definitly going cloud based with streaming so it'll be interesting to see if the disc drive dissappears altogether eventually.
Add an external usb DVD player
Ordered one a few days ago on sale for 240 at Walmart 🤓
Good video.
Thanks mate, appreciate the comment.
Why is no one talking about this The controller vibrates??
Definitly needs attention!
Don't tell me what I need or not
nice :D
Thanks!
I love my Xbox series s
Such a great console!
It's the best device but here in India its 375$..
Wow that's quite expensive, I'm assuming the Series X and the PS5 are also quite high so I would definitely still say there is value if it's affordable.
Nah.
Wouldn't knock it until you try it, but if you have then fair play - it's not for everyone!
Too much money to game this generation you gotta have a 1000 dollar t.v a 600 dollar console and a exterernal storage device series s is a great in between
100% you really have to invest to get the best out of the higher priced next gen consoles, whereas I feel the Series S is a nice sweet spot.
Don't play series s on a 4k TV peace
Interesting take, why do you say so?
So worth it
The Series S also has Microsoft Edge which the PS5 does not have. :P
No thanks pass looks cool but not interested in Xbox
I thought the same before I bought it, but the Series S has definitely changed my mind.
The Xbox is dead
Why do you think that?
series s is just junk not more dont buy it buy xbox series x or ps5. Ps5 is better then xbox series s
Definitly agree you get more out of the PS5 and Xbox Series X. However, for someone on a budget you can't beat the value of the Series S. In reality the only things you are missing are true 4K and increased storage capacity. You could say disc drive but some people buy the digital version of the PS5. Thanks for the comment!
@@SemplistYT I agree I’m loving Xbox more than PlayStation now
It's not junk LMAO it's literally the number one selling console out there 😂
I'm the same mate, Game Pass is unreal!
I know PS5 is better than Series S because the exclusives attract me. But as a full-time student, Series S is more than enough for me now although I hate Xbox service (including Game Pass). A lot of new games are not on Game Pass but if I don't subscribe to Live Gold or Game Pass Ultimate, I cannot play some games online.
