Thank you for showing us my hometown Salzburg! Its an honor be born and he live here. For me all the stunning sights and the beautiful nature is breathtaking day by day. The old town parts on the right and left sight next to the river Salzach are so small in comparison to the rest of the city. (; Its a great place to live here with all the beautiful mountains and lakes around.
This is an amazing blog / guide to Salzburg! I really enjoyed Hannah’s positivity throughout the blog and Trey’s courage in tackling his fear of heights 😉 I found this video weeks ago when doing my research and now rewatching it to plan my day here in Salzburg tmr. Thanks guys!!
We can't recommend the Salzburg Card enough!! It basically got us everywhere we could possibly want to go, & the free access to public transit only made it even better. Let us know if you do anything we didn't do & have a great time, & thank you so much for taking the time to watch our vlog Julie!!!😊
Thank you so much for the kind words Sharon!!! We have the best time making these videos, so we're so thankful you were able to enjoy the experience with us!!! Thank you so much for watching!!!😊❤️
Hello, I exactly know this situation at 9:30. In fact the best thing I can do to prevent a panic attack is to close my eyes and just breath slowly. If the panic comes, I even put my fingers on my ears that I just can hear my blood circulating.
We are heading to Salzburg tmrw and your vlog wS perfect for answering is a Salburg card was worth it..... without a doubt..... anyway will feed back at the end of tmrw! Cheers. Nick and Michelly
Oh my gosh it's SO worth it!!! You're able to do just about everything in the city with that card. The price is pretty unbeatable too. Hope you have a great time & thank you so much for taking the time to watch our video!!:)
Thank you so much for the kind words!! We normally don't make such a long vlog but with that Salzburg Card, we felt like we had to do everything we could!! Salzburg is such an incredible city!!

Another great video!! I am loving following your journey around Europe. You two are honestly some of the best travel RUclipsrs out there and your channel is going to grow exponentially very soon!! I love all the invaluable information you share as well as the excellent camera work. Keep the videos coming!!!
Thank you so much for showing your support to us!!! We love bringing these places to people & our main goal is to give as much background on the places that we visit in an effort to show what makes these particular places unique. Being from the States, you can drive six hours & you're pretty much going to get more or less the same culture. Whereas in Europe, you could pass through many different cultures, languages,& ways of life in that time. We just love it so much. Thank you so much again for being so encouraging. It really does mean the world to us!!❤️
Oh my goodness Taimoor you're going to have an AMAZING time there. Salzburg is everything you've heard. Stunning architecture, rich history, & the most beautiful scenery you could ever imagine. We had an unbelievable time there & can't wait to get back there one day. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch our video & for leaving us such kind words!!!!❤️
This day was CRAZY busy but man was it fun. It's a huge itinerary but definitely doable in a day. I'd recommend a few days in Salzburg honestly, but it's definitely doable in a shorter amount of time. Both cities are pretty awesome though!! Have a great time on your trip & thanks so much for watching our video!!!:)
Thank you so much for the kind words!!! We talk about how incredible Salzburg is ALL the time. We can't wait to get back there one day!! Thank you so much again & thanks for watching our video:)
I would really love to go to Austria. It's such a beautiful, unique, and peaceful country. The architecture looks stunning. You guys seem so genuine and kind. Love from New Zealand 🇳🇿🇳🇿💕💕
You would seriously love it!! From what we hear, New Zealand has a lot of similarities to Austria when it comes to geography. They're both so beautiful & we can't wait to visit NZ at some point! I can recommend Salzburg enough though. It's truly one of the most beautiful places we've ever visited. Thank you so much for the kind words & for watching our video Smit!!! It means the world to us!:)
This is PEREFCT timing. I am heading to Salzburg in a month and what do you know, you have just earned the title of being my official tour guide, We are booked for The Sound of Music Tour as well but your itinerary will be a HUGE help. Thank you.
Oh my gosh you're going to have THE BEST time in Salzburg!!! This video was SO hard to film (mainly because we literally did all of this in one day, which is a bit taxing😅), but the memories we have from this city are right at the top of our favorites from our year in Europe. Have so much fun & thank you so much for taking the time to watch our video!!!!:)
Thank you for watching! We stayed for a few days in Salzburg but this was filmed all over 1 day! We started our grand tour about 8:30/9 AM! Depending on all the sites you want to hit you could start later, but we like getting out in the morning. We stayed out a bit later to catch the Chelsea match but sunset was around 6/7 PM. Hope you have a great trip!
Thank you so much!!!!❤️ this was such a busy day, but man was it worth the effort. I feel like we left no stone unturned in Salzburg! LOL Love you MOST!!!!❤️
Oh man Gordon you’re going to have the best time!! It’s such a spectacular region of Europe. Have a great time there & if you do anything awesome that we didn’t mention in this video then be sure to let us know!! Have a great trip & thank you so much for taking the time to watch our video!!😊
Heading to Salzburg in June and this has been so helpful. Especially the Salzburg Card info. I had no idea. Thank you!! - we're interested in going to the top of the mtn. Can you give more info on how to get to the tram?
Hi! It's called Bärenwirt. The food there is PHENOMENAL! If you go then make sure you have a bite in our honor🤣 Thanks so much for watching our video!!!
Great video!! I'm glad I found this while doing some research for my own trip upcoming in September :) I have a question.. How long did you spend at the Hohensalzburg fortress, the Hellbrunn palace and the top of the salzburg mountain?
Fantastic ❤ video guy’s loved it Iv been in Salzburg twice was there last year loved it going back this year again definitely getting Salzburg card and cable car up to mountain yikes thanks again safe travels to you guys greetings from Scotland

I think I'd honestly rate this better than Virginia's On King solely for the different variety/amount that you get. It's probably the best fried chicken I've ever had now that I think about it🤣 Thank you so much for tuning in & being so supportive Eric!!!
Hi!! There's a bus that runs from the city center to Untersbergbahn. If my memory serves me correctly, I believe it was bus 25! Thanks so much for watching our video!!!
Sound of Music wasn't filmed at Hellbrun Palace. The Gazebo was originally at schloss leopoldskron but moved due to the numbers of visitors. The "Von Trapp Villa" in the film was Schloss Fronburg north of Hellbrun on Hellbrunner Allee
Interesting fact....when you go up the Untersberg with the cable car you go directly over my office. You can in fact just see the roof at the bottom left of your video at 09:34. I am typing this message from there....whilst I should be working 🤣
Hi, i loved watching your video and it gave me a lot of tips about Salzburg. Planning to travel this August. Can you recommend a good hotel that doesn’t break the bank? Thanks
Hi!! Thank you so much for watching our video!! As far as a hotel, we honestly don't really know. We stayed in a small private room Airbnb for a couple nights & then left (Salzburg can get VERY expensive😅). When we do check hotels, we always check out hotels.com because they tend to have the best deals so check with that! Thank you so much for watching our video & have a great visit!!:)
Dude, I am with you on the fear of heights thing! At least you rode up! I would have been down at the bottom wishing you well and twice as scared! 😁👍 Great video, thanks!
Oh I can't even claim to have been brave on this honestly. I rode the whole way up and the whole way down with my eyes completely shut🤣 It was honestly crazy high. Still don't know why I did it LOL. Thank you so much for watching our video!!!
@@ProbablyLost I would be reading if people have died on this before I got on. I have such fear of heights myself and don't know if I could do it without meds.
😊i went to salzburg as a child in 1980 it was a short stopover and there were no foreigners as i remember. We attracted the attention of the people a lot, we got stared at a lot, hehehe. I can't believe I'm seeing it on a youtube now. I went to the same place they are in this video.
Oh I bet that was such an incredible experience!!! We seriously loved Salzburg. It has such a huge reputation so we honestly thought it'd be a bit too touristy for us, but they do such an incredible job of retaining the old feel of the city. It really felt like we were stepping back in time. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch our video, & thank you for leaving us such a cool comment. We're so thankful this video took you on a trip down memory lane!😊❤️
This is one of the best videos from your travels so far! Maybe because I live in Austria? Not far from Salzburg. I really have to laugh watching Trey going up the mountain, don't visit Tirol then because the mountains are even higher here, lol ... As always, I really enjoy your videos, they are very instructive, actually I have been to Salzburg many times and there are several places you visited that I have never seen.
Thank you so much Eddy!! We definitely did A LOT in this vlog but man was it fun. The Salzburg Card made us feel like we had to do as much as we possibly could before the day ended which made for a very busy vlog day, but we've watched this vlog a few times & can't help but smile. Even the zoo was stunning!!! We ABSOLUTELY understand now why you live there. I'd never want to leave!!🤣
Hey guys, I liked your video! Very informative. I thought the entrance for Hellbrum Palace was free. Tell me, is it too far from Salzburg City Center to Hellbrum Palace? Thanks a lot! Daniel from Rio de Janeiro.
Hi Daniel! It's only about 15-20 minutes form the center of Salzburg via bus. It really isn't a bad ride at all and right next to the zoo. The Palace grounds are free, but in order to go inside you have to pay a fee if you don't have the Salzburg Card. If we're being 100% honest with you, we didn't think the price to enter was worth it but thankfully with the Salzburg Card we didn't have to worry too much about that. You can visit the gazebo though totally for free as it's in the gardens. Have such a great time on your trip & thank you so much for watching our video!!😊
Lovely video; Im going to follow this trail. I did have a question since you mentioned the salzburg card numerous time... did you take the 24 hours or 48 hours version of it to see all the inclusions.
Thank you so much for watching!! We did it in 24 hours in an effort to show what all you can do with the card in a day, but if you've got the time then we DEFINITELY recommend doing it over 48 hours🤣 Either way, it's the best way to see the highlights of Salzburg!!!
When I did the sound of music tour (in 2002!) we were told that the gazebo was locked due to all the tourists injuring themselves attempting the dance!
OMG!!! I REALLLLLY wanted to go into the Gazebo but noticed that it wasn't allowed and that honestly makes a lot of sense. We were also surprised that we couldn't get to the lake that they filmed on, or at least to the part of the lake where the filming was done due to there being a boutique hotel there now. Such a bummer!!!
I did that tour in 1998 with an Uruguayan tourist guide that spoke a bunch of languages. The bus was filled with Asians, maybe Koreans or Japanese and they knew all the songs in English. Apparently very popular movie in those countries! I saw barely any tourists on the street.
Man a cure would make my life SO much easier!!!🤣 Thank you so much for the kind words & for taking the time to watch our video. We greatly appreciate it!!!
Yeahhhh we learned pretty quickly after how to say it properly, which is something that happens to us a bit more often than we are proud to admit😅 Thank you so much for watching!!!:)
Friends, I really appreciate your reply!! Please, I have another question: are Schloss Frohnburg (when Maria first sees the house) and Schloss Hellbrunn the same venue? Because both buildings are in yellow color. Please help me, cause I'll be arriving in Salzburg next Friday. Are you American? Thanks from Rio de Janeiro!!
Hi Daniel! We are from the US! They both are two different palaces. I believe they used both sites as filming locations for the movie & did different shots at each house. We didn't make it to Schloos Frohnburg because I believeeee it's a private residence, but I think you'd be able to see it from the outside! Enjoy your trip Daniel & let us know if you do anything awesome that we missed!!!😊
Hello! I am from Austria (Vienna) and although I turned 47 last month, it wasn't until about five or six years ago that I heard of "The Sound of Music" for the first time in my life. And none of my friends knew this movie either - even those from Salzburg didn't (though the Trapp family's story itself is well known of course). I think "The Sound of Music" is rather a phenomenon in US culture than it is here. 🙂
Wow! That's very interesting. We both grew up with the movie so like you said, maybe it is more popular in the US. Julie Andrews is an icon in our eyes. Thanks for watching! 🤗
Hi! I am planning a trip in December, either to Vienna or Salzburg. It's supposed to be more of a before Christmas thing (snow, atmosphere, Christmas market) than museums and exploration, but we will definitely be visiting all the major attractions in the city. Would you rather recommend we go to Vienna or Salzbhrg? Or split the trip and visit both?
I appreciate you showing the city. But those are the tourist hotspots, the main highlights. Apart from that Salzburg is a place that breathes. ou'd be surprised how urban and rural it can be at the same time. But, I am totally biased This city stole my heart and I wont ever get it back. This is how much I love Salzburg.
Hi Gerulf!! We tried to show some of the best things for tourists. We definitely know there's so much more to Salzburg than this so hopefully this encourages people to give it a visit & check some other spots that are off the beaten track. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch our video!!!
@@ProbablyLost Heyhey! Thx for the answer. I am afraid my original comment may have come a cross as rude! I truly appreciate you guys coming to the beautiful city of Salzburg.
First of all I am so happy that you could buy a day attraction and travel ticket and see a bit. and I am so proud of you to take the cable car - I wish so much my self to do so but I AM TOO SCARED of it.... Glad if you enjoyed OUR ( that includes every one of us in the world ) so OUR wonderful part of this side of the world which inspired so many people - musicians and film makers in the US and in the world so we share there a bit of a history 'bridge' with you Americans.
I tell you what Elizabeth, Salzburg's been a DREAM destination for both of us for as long as we could both remember. To be able to visit this gorgeous city & get the opportunity to help inspire others to visit was all we ever wanted to do with this video. There's SO MUCH to do in and around the city! We're hoping we can get back at some point to see a football match, as well as dive a little bit deeper into the mountains. We went to Hallstatt in the video after this which was INCREDIBLE, but we felt like we barely scratched the surface. We knew it would be beautiful but it STILL blew our minds!! Thank you so much for the kind words & for watching our video!!! We really appreciate it!!!❤️
It's an Irish pub I believe!! Great beer, plenty of tv's to watch football, & basically no cell service inside so no distractions from the matches. The dream set-up!! Thanks so much for watching our video!!!
It’s so sad that back in I think the late 1740s-early50s my family was forced out of Austria for not wanting to follow Catholicism. They wanted to be Protestant (Lutheran.) And were told to leave. The salzburgers as they are called here in America founded the area in which is very cool. They created a church and it’s awesome.
Love your guys's videos and love Austria. We went there a couple years ago and love everything about it, BUT, Salzburg is definitely not the most beautiful city in Europe. Beautiful city, but not the most beautiful in Europe. Keep up the great work! So jealous of you two!
Thank you so much Brad!!!! We've definitely been to some unbelievably beautiful places here & what we've found is that most of them are in places that you'd least expect (i.e. Ljubljana, Brasov, Inverness, etc). It just makes us want to keep exploring & uncovering these little gems that were once so foreign to us. Thank you so much again for the kind words & being so supportive of us. It seriously means so much!!😊
i just realized, how stupid it is not to travel more. not just austria, italy, hungary, slowenia,... just a couple of hours away, no boarder controls, the Intercity express is faster than a Lamborghini on the Autobahn.
I enjoyed your enthusiasm. But I have to tell you, if you type any German word into the Google translator app on your phone, it will tell you exactly how to pronounce it. It’s a cable car (in English), not a tram and not a funicular, up to the top of Untersberg. The pasta you ate is called Spätzle. It’s not gnocchi. There is a sign on the outside of the restaurant advertising their fried chicken. When you travel, please be prepared to learn some words of the local language, and try to pronounce them correctly. You missed the Franziskanerkirche and the St. Peterskirche, the most beautiful churches in Salzburg, and you could have gone in to them for free.
If you are going to represent that you went to Salzburg, couldn't you be accurate in your reporting? (I won't request you pronounce the words somewhat close to the way they should be). For example, you claimed the gazebo is at Hellbrunn, but in reality it is a Leopoldskron Palace, which is five miles away. Plus, you seem to have glossed over the water tricks at Hellbrunn which are the most fund one can have in Salzburg.
Some secret information: He was poisoned at age 35 because he revealed a lot of occult information in his opera The magic flute which was in part rewritten after his death. His widow lived behind the Mozart statue (look on the house plaque close to the river). She wanted to have the Mozart statue face her when she looked out the window, so they waited until her death to put up his statue.

Where u had stayed in airbnb can u share details if u don’t mind?
Just in one day, you did visit all around Salzburg !:)
We certainly tried our best!! Thank you so much for watching!!!:)
When i was there the shilling was the currency.😊
Your videos are great. I’m am deathly afraid of heights myself. Switzerland pushed my limits. Would love to find a cure😂. Keep the videos coming.
Man a cure would make my life SO much easier!!!🤣 Thank you so much for the kind words & for taking the time to watch our video. We greatly appreciate it!!!
Do any of the locations require or strongly suggest reservations?
Good fun video. Baroque is pronounced “buh-roke” like you’re saying broke in English into two syllables 😊
@@ProbablyLost thank you!!

Where you stayed at Salzburz
i love you salzburg
@@ProbablyLost Julie Andrews = the one and only Mary Poppins 😊
We really appreciate it!!!❤️
One day u well have 100k then 1m 😅
Man that would certainly be cool!!!! Thank you so much for watching!!😊
Murphy's Law Irish Pub...English pub?
It's an Irish pub I believe!! Great beer, plenty of tv's to watch football, & basically no cell service inside so no distractions from the matches. The dream set-up!! Thanks so much for watching our video!!!
❤
Thank you so much for watching!!!😊
It seriously means so much!!😊
I think it has the most beautiful area. There are so many day trips to do from there but you would have to spend an entire week to do it justice.
i just realized, how stupid it is not to travel more. not just austria, italy, hungary, slowenia,... just a couple of hours away, no boarder controls, the Intercity express is faster than a Lamborghini on the Autobahn.
Please say ‘SalTzburg’, please.
Here we go! Sound of Music! I can tell you 95% of us Austrians have never seen this Movie! Its NOT on our Radar!😁
Everyone told us the same thing...😂 Isn't it funny it was such a massive hit in the US but when we ask about it in Salzburg it isn't so popular.
Nannerl
If you are going to represent that you went to Salzburg, couldn't you be accurate in your reporting? (I won't request you pronounce the words somewhat close to the way they should be). For example, you claimed the gazebo is at Hellbrunn, but in reality it is a Leopoldskron Palace, which is five miles away. Plus, you seem to have glossed over the water tricks at Hellbrunn which are the most fund one can have in Salzburg.
The gazebo was moved from Leopoldskron to Hellbunn many years ago.......
EUROPE'S MOST BEAUTIFUL CITY is Ljubljana
It's a stunner for sure!!!!! We LOVE Ljubljana!!!😍
Slovenia is not even in Europe
