    Better to put your screen in front of a window and look out from time to time. There are muscles that tension your eyeball to focus short distance, it's better to let them relax for a bit by focusing on "infinite range" every so often.

      Agreed, I also appreciate mine when it gets darker. I wasn't able to configure it in a way where the light strip is not visible to my eyes without it shining on the display, but I can live with that and I also had this problem with 3 other lights I tested. It means I keep the display clean and dust-free at all times.

    Florescent ceiling lamps give designers headaches. Oddly enough, the old heat generating quartz floor lamps were fantastic. The light was bounced off the ceiling, and since heat doesn't flicker with the 60Hz input the result was very easy on the eyes. Phones using high speed data were created under these lamps, using HPUX workstations.

    to be honest, you may not even need the monitor screen light. there are ceiling-facing lamps at ikea that will achieve a nice warm room-global lighting similar to this that will cover more then just your desktop. and they are cheaper too, a lot of people will also probably use more then just a desktop for paperwork as well. but the concept is interesting ig

    At first I was skeptical as to what purpose this thing serve, but as a person who works at night in a no light environment (personal use case), I would have to stare on my PC for 8 hours a day (excluding non work thingy after shift) and it strains my eyes. I use to use anti-radiation glasses but it only creates reflection and I even have to clean it often.
    After getting one for myself (got the "Baseus i-Wok" one), the eye strain was gone and just forgot about it until I got a 2nd monitor and realize the difference it made. The eye strain was so noticeable that I had to immediately order another one.
    I'm not sure what your use-case are but if you're like me, you could try one and see the difference yourself or just skip this. 🙂
    Note: get one that does the job done, don't point in to the monitor (that's not how that works) as it should not directly hit the monitor.

      If you have an alternate light bar setup, how would you know that it works as well or better? Some screenlights have nice extra adjustments such as remote control of the light intensity. And I get the impression that the positioning at the top of the monitor screen could be ideal to avoid shadows or reflections. I just ordered one (there are lots of positive reviews for screenlights, where folks indicate it is one of their best office setup purchases!)

    Maybe it is just me but isn’t this just trying to fix a problem that you are, unnecessarily, creating by yourself by wanting to sit in a not well lit room? Then go buy a gadget to fix that problem with an in between solution. I mean if you really are worried about your eyes, then why not fix the problem completely and invest in some good room lighting and turn that on and create a well it room? At home I have a 3 LED spot ceiling light which multiple light color modes which lights up my room completely and barely cost more than a lightbar.

    • @CreatedTech
      @CreatedTech  2 года назад

      Hmm, spend potentially hundreds of dollars fixing poor lighting, vs spending $50 on a lightbar...
      Regardless, even the best room lighting still may cast unwanted shadows when writing or drawing, and that is specifically what these lightbars are designed to excel at. Other benefits are simply a by-product.

    It's unfortunate that so many monitors are created with low brightness and so many people are in dark areas. It's hard on your eyes year after year. More people need natural daylight in their spaces. 300 nit TN and IPS displays are pretty common which means you can't use your screen in a properly daylight-bright room.
    So back to the darkness you go while you grow to need reading glasses.

    I know this has not much to do with the video, but...
    Somebody know where is that monitor stand from? I have a Dell monitor and although it is amazing it's rather low for my height.
    Thanks =D

    It's baffling the you really think this toy of yours will have ANY health benefits. The thing that matters in these kinds of situations is Ambient Lightning and this toy provides an insignificant impart to the ambient lighting situation at your workspace.

    Serious Question, Is your narration voice the same as your conversation voice. I know you are trying to deliver a serious review here for a light bar, you should have ago at parody reviews, you would have a great voice for it. If you could script parody content I think you could develop a niche.

    My eyes don't stop watering after a few years ot screen time. I'm praying it stops, while also looking for good practices. Suggestions?

    Its better to invest in room lights instead of sitting in a dark with this new light bars. Also I dont understand why people turn off lights in room in the first place

    How would you arrange a screen bar and an external webcam?

    • @CrocketX
      @CrocketX 2 года назад +2

      Depends on the monitor size and the webcam clamp. I personally have a 27" monitor, Xiaomi light bar and there still was a place to put the webcam to, so I have it both above the monitor. But with a bit of creativity you can put the webcam above the light, next to your monitor or under it.

    How well would one of these work for curved monitors in your opinion?

    • @CreatedTech
      @CreatedTech  2 года назад +1

      Worked fine for a 34" Dell Ultrawide I tried it on. I don't think you'll have any issues. Curved monitors are typically relatively straight in the middle, the biggest angle of curve is towards the edges.

    So you're saying, a $40 arm-length LED strip is a good deal? And that's the cheapest. You'd still need ambient lighting to avoid eye strain. Expensive gimmick!

    Will I need a curved light bar for a curved monitor? 1000r curve.

    Am using Philips Twin glow Ceiling light , where Yellow illuminance is facing towards ceiling. Is this good or should I use a light bar as well. Please recommend. I suffer from eye strain..
