Tuomas grew up reading Scrooge McDuck graphic novels. He is a huge fan of Don Rossa who wrote and illustrated them. He always wanted to do honor him. So he wrote an album. This is only one song from it. The gentleman in the video is Don. He had to retire because his eyesight was getting to bad to do the illustrations. He worked on this for years and finally had the time to finish it up and do the videos. In my opinion Tuomas is a genius. I hope someday he is finally recognized for his composing. We've had a Donald Duck (Aku Ankka in Finnish) magazine for almost 70 years in Finland, and it still is one of the most popular magazines here. Not only because of the good stories and graphics, but the language and translations are top notch. The magazine has even won prizes for its language. And naturally there are big pile of books. So already few generations have grown up with Donald and Scrooge (Roope Ankka in Finnish) here and there seems to be no end to that.
Johanna has a beautiful, delicate voice that is perfect for this. I can't imagine Floor singing this - and that's absolutely fine! He is lucky to have two muses to inspire him. I believe he should be regarded as one of the greatest composers of all time.
"I wanna cry" Yup...My reaction every time. Floor wanted to be a biologist as well. She "plays" "The Biologist" on the Ayreon song "When the World Breaks Down." Tuomas has said that the graphic novel that this is based on is perhaps his favorite work of fiction of all time. Don Rosa, the writer, won an "Eisner Award" for it. The Eisner Award is like the Pulitzer Prize/Oscar/Emmy award for the comics world. I see you are a comics fan so maybe you already knew.

Leading vocalist here is wife of Tuomas, Johanna Kurkela and she is very talented singer too. There is in RUclips several songs from this music-cartoon-album, all are great. This is music(Whole album) what is suitable listen with cup of coffee, cognac and cigar...

The Last Sled is a great track as mensioned earlier. Another great one is Cold Heart of Clondyke that is sung by Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica) who is a close friend to Tuomas. How this album happened: As said before, Tuomas is a huge fan of Don Rosa. Don was visiting Helsinki and Tuomas got to meet him and naturally Don hadn't heard of Tuomas or Nightwish. Tuomas told his idea and Don didn't take him serious but gave his contacts. Tuomas contacted him and he got a lot of original scetches (you see them in the video) that inspired him working with the album. Don has also drawn the cover art except coloring. After finished the album Don took a listen. He got in tears of joy.
Johanna is sais like 'YO(h)-hun-nah' (the English version sounds like 'Dsho Hann?' in Finnish :) ). All the Nightwish names are said like Y if a J is written. And Finnish names are stressed at the beginning - as if 'BEginning' :) But no worries, you said it very well.
Beautiful Song, another you might try from the Nighwish back catalog is "Meadows of Heaven", Tuomas writes about memories of childhood, very stirring. It does feature 2nd Nightwish singer Annette, but her voice really meshes perfectly with that song. (Floor still my favorite), but highly recommend. Long way to go covering the Nightwish and Floor Jansen array of music Patty, all very much worth it.
That's not true. Scrooge really is greedy and he puts his desire of becoming ever richer above things like love which he consideres waste of time. He might have memories how he earned some money, but that's because he loves money. There's some good qualities with him, but then there's the bad. But he still takes his close family to these adventures, often because of his greed, and that creates stories.
It is so difficult to understand how it is possible that the talent, genius, creativity, and versatility of this man, and similarly of Floor Jansen, can go so unnoticed and ignored for 20+ years here in the United States. It just boggles the mind how blind our "entertainment" promoters are. :(
There's lots of fine arts in many countries that really never be found or seen internationally. And then the popular culture that does get global spread... it's not any better. It's just marketed and brought to you and it's everywhere.
Type MOONSUN LIFETIME OF ADVENTURE - i can't decide which one is the better one ? MOONSUN EVA is another divine song of Nightwish never sung by Floor yet..

Scrooge does not hoard money because of greed. He holds on to his coins because each and everyone is a memory. Adventure he once had.
