I'd love a FujiFilm X-T30 as my take everywhere shooter. It's super high quality with fast shooting and video capabilities have me sold. Thanks for the review Matti. Love it!
Hi Matti. I really enjoy your videos and love photography. I've been doing photography for 2 years now and I'm getting much better at it. My Nikon D5600 got stolen from my bag on a train a few months ago and it had a 50mm prime lens on it. I spent about $900 on that camera and lenses all together and it really sucked. I kind of stopped photography for a while after that because I was so sad about it. But I gradually picked it up again. I've been using my phone camera for a while now but it's just not fun to edit with. Really hope you see this comment. Getting an X-T30 will really help me out. Keep up the good videos!
Nice video, just one thing: At 4:16 you say this camera has 1.6x crop, those are for canon aps-c sensors (they are a little bit smaller). Fuji sensors have 1.5x crop factor. Canon APS-C are the ones with 1.6x crop factor
Love the slow-mo snow clips! Currently trying to figure out what camera I should buy, I'm leaning towards the GH5 but the X-T30 also looks really great - would love to give it a go!
The thing is that a beautiful camera that you enjoy using leads to more and better images/video. It‘s all about the experience. You take it out more and you have more fun. Some say a camera is just a tool, and sure that‘s partly true but I find the aesthetics really important.
Fujifilm is really stepping it up and I think canon should be aware of that. I still have a Nikon D3300 and I think I could do a good job with the X-T30, I really like portraits and filming and I think this camera is perfect for this!
Hey Matty I am thinking about purchasing this camera for day to day shooting and filming. Do you recommend this camera for daily usage? Carrying a big slr is breaking my back so looking for some lighter options.

Glad that you're discovering more and more the little Fujifilm babies. Watch out, it's quite a the rabbit hole ! The more you discover about it, the more you'll be tempted to jump ship and sell everything else to buy only Fuji gears. Coming from someone who's also been a Canon shooter before and has now completely flipped to the Fuji side of the Force, I can tell that this company's biggest strength is not just its cameras and lenses (no matter how fantastic they are for colors, ergonomics, prices and specs), but the most impressive with them is that it's the one and only company that actually listens to its customer base's needs. And also, a special finish him combo : they always drop at least 2 up to 5 episodic firmware updates for each of their cameras, upgrading them exponentially, and this, for free ! One famous example : 3 years ago, they got out the X-Pro 2, a wonderful rangefinder style camera that was designed specifically for stills, and could shoot decent 1080p. A few months later comes the X-T2, which was the first of their cameras that could shoot 4K (which made a really big splash at the time it came out). Everybody was ecstatic... except the poor X-Pro 2 users, who were feeling a bit left behind with their little Full HD... Well, guess what ? A few months later, free firmware update, and Ta-Daaaa ! The X-pro can now shoot in 4K ! That's the Fuji magic, their cameras are not only killing it from the get go when they launch, but on top of that, they are all upgradable to some very big extend as they age, thanks to Fuji's relentless willpower to improve their products and listen to their audience ! THAT, I believe, is the one main reason why Fujifilm's got such a dedicated and passionate (some would say rabid) fanbase. PS : on such a small camera as the X-T30, I would recommend you to get a little prime lens (like the 23mm f2.0 or the 35mm f2.0, or why not the newest little 16mm f2?8 that's gonna come out with the X-T30, both cheap and fantastic little killer lenses), you'll really feel the difference in size and weight and manoeuverability, especially compared to the bulky 16-55mm F2.8.

PS : on such a small camera as the X-T30, I would recommend you to get a little prime lens (like the 23mm f2.0 or the 35mm f2.0, or why not the newest little 16mm f2?8 that's gonna come out with the X-T30, both cheap and fantastic little killer lenses), you'll really feel the difference in size and weight and manoeuverability, especially compared to the bulky 16-55mm F2.8.
like its
- AutoFocus Points
- Movie Options
- Eye AF
- LCD Screen
- EVF
- Continuous Shooting
- Film Simulations
- Bluetooth Connectivity
and will use it for my primary video cam
Definitely a beast to look out for. A strong contender in the camera business!
Thanks Matt!
Does it make sense to upgrade from X-T2 to X-T30 if i'm mostly interested in video?
Ive just started photography and am super interested in the Fuji this would be an amazing way to start photography. Thanks for the awesome review been looking at different fuji cameras to purchase.
My husband and I, are growing a family film business and this could be huge for us. Thanks for giving us a shot at something like this!
I switched from a 60d (which i realize is a bit dated now) to the x-t30 and my wife and I have been very impressed. Can't be beat for the price. It's a shame not being able to use our cannon lenses though... :(

If I could get this camera or the A6400 or the a6500 for about the same price (+/- 50 bucks) wich one would you recommend for wedding, product/commercials (like food), nature video and just a little vlogging on the side?
Transitioning from Nikon over to the Fuji system would be a breath of fresh air and may give me a new outlook on what I shoot. Hope this becomes part of my camera bag!
I never really used my crop sensor cameras to make videos. Until now. This X-T30 is very interesting, though. It kinds of checks all the boxes. Especially those great colors you got with Eterna in this video. I'm sold. Thanks Matti!
This camera would be such a good B camera. I love Fujifilm and am so glad they are getting more recognition :)
What would you say are some of the best Fujifilm cameras out there?
I've had this camera since last sumer and I love it! I really want to use it with the DJI Ronin S Gimbal but it's not supported. I wonder how you managed to get it working? Great review by the way and love your channel!
Your color correction game is always on point!
