Ariel is the daughter of Triton, son of Poseidon brother of Zeus, who is the father of Hercules, So yeah technically they are literal cousins. Cool isn't it?

The director just meant it's fine to imagine that different movies are related to each other in some way and that he too likes to imagine that characters from different movies could coexist in the same universe. In no way he was actually confirming that Tarzan is related to Anna and Elsa, he was basically just saying that if people wanna believe that's true there's nothing wrong with it as he likes to imagine these kinds of different scenarios as well.
Weren't the parents in Frozen 2 confirmed to be dead? The ship was not near Africa. They rewrote the story for the movie killing any chance of Tarzan being related to Elisa and Anna.
Tarzan cannot be related to Anna and Elsa because he's actually British anyway.
I HATE how Hercules is a "boys" movie because I'm a girl and growing up I LOVED Hercules
It's a family's flick. I've never really thought of it as a boys movie anymore than Mulan is a girl's movie.

What about David from Lelo and Stitch?! I think he should be a Disney Prince because he’s literally the best male role model in all of Disney because his love interest, Lelo’s older sister, tells him less than 1/2 way through the movie that she doesn’t want to be with him because she has to focus on work and taking care of her sister, but knowing he doesn’t have a chance, he still stays by her side and cares for her while respecting her decision to stay single and he doesn’t hit on her, he doesn’t keep chasing her, he respects her choice and still helps her out knowing he won’t get anything in return.

But it’s not a history documentary. It’s a movie so it can have all creative freedom it wants. The movie is about racial relationships and trying to understand each other. Rather then act like savages because they’re different. This is such an important lesson and it gets glazed over because the movie isn’t historical accurate
Isn't it kinda obvious that most Disney movies are pretty inaccurate? Hercules? Yes, definitely. Mulan? Yep. The Norse stuff in MCU? That too.
If they snub Moana then they have to kick out Pocahontas. They are both daughters of chiefs. So if that makes Pocahontas royal then Moana is royal too. Plus she saves everything in her world from die ing . That is pretty heroic.

Exactly I hope now that they are doing a Hercules live action remake. They show a little of Meg backstory as the princess of Thebes and if the movie is successful give her the title. In fact I think Ariana is perfect for the role and with the huge success at box office she would bring I'm pretty sure, children would see now Meg as one of her fav Disney characters and they would see a huge business in doing her an official Disney Princess as she should. I hope it happens the same with Kida as also they are doing an Atlantis live action. Zendaya would be great as her and could bring success too

Why is that so offensive? Why can't a boy be princess? Let me tell you a story...about a year ago, a mom was at my store getting horrible looks and comments about her son. When I rang them up, I noticed her son was sporting a mohawk, and the most fabulous purple tutu ever. I told him I loved his glittery tutu, and he said thank you. He had to be 5, he said he wanted to know the difference in lipstick (he was getting chapstick with his mom) I told him my opinions and he chose. The mom was so grateful that I didn't treat him weird. I told her I wasn't raised that way, I was raised to accept everyone regardless of their views. He wanted to wear a tutu. I'm raising my daughters the same way. If my daughter wants be a dinosaur, she can be. I'm not telling her that dinosaurs are for boys.

Totally agree. He was more interesting and braver than some other Disney princes, and his love interest was even more romantic. This may sound weird but I think the part of the Lion King when Simba and Nala are reunited and begin falling in love ("Can you feel the love tonight!") is SO MUCH more sweeter than when Cinderella falls for Prince Charming or Snow White meets her prince.

Simba would be considered more like one of the "snubbed" princes because he doesn't fit the criteria of being the love interest of a Disney Princess. Nala (who I believe was actually on the snubbed princesses list) is not a Disney Princess because she doesn't fit into (at least) one category required. She's not human.

I think Milo Thatch should be a Disney Prince too, he does marry Kida (love interest), who becomes the queen of Atlantis! And He's human, and he preforms act of heroism, which means he qualifies for all three categorizes for the Disney Princess qualification, and I'm assuming the rules are pretty similar. (Also Kida should be a Princess which is probably what is holding him back just like Hercules) (But you already covered Kida in your snubbed Princesses video so I guess it now goes without saying that she should be a Princess.)

@@a.w.4708 Agreed! I was a bit outraged when I found out Kidda wasnt considered an official princess. She literally becomes queen. We even see her after and it's apparent and Milo is an excellent example for our young people. He's smart, studious, and not afraid to fight for what he wants (without resorting to violence immediately), further than that, he shows that he believes in himself, while the others tease him he takes it in stride and instead offers some vulnerability explaining why he's so passionate instead. Milo and Kidda more than deserve the position in my opinion.

Well actually what happened was that the reason why John Smith was even kidnapped by the indian tribe was a setup called the Powhatan Confederacy. The tribe was going to kidnap him and let him go, so their image would improve in the eyes of the Virginia Company. Pocahontas really didn't have anything to do with that at all, other than being in on it.

Simba is more marketed as a king than a prince
Angus Maxim This is because to be an ‘official’ Disney Prince you have to have a love interest who is a Disney princess and the requirements to be a Disney princess is to be a human and Nala is obviously a lioness. This means that even though Simba is a prince/king in the movie, he would still get snubbed since he and his love interest aren’t humans. Another reason why is the lion king was not aimed at girls so therefore Nala wouldn’t become a Disney princess meaning Simba wouldn’t be a Disney prince.
Disclaimer: When I say ‘not human’ I mean in the movie they are NEVER human. This would explain why Ariel is still a princess since at the end she turns into a human permanently and lives on land. Also she is part human but also part fish so yeah she is still considered a princess for these reasons. I just wanted to clear that up for you 🙂.

Alex Downs Probably not, and you mean the old classic Disney Princess, because each of them are meant to be what good role models were in the time the were made. Like Snow White was probably like the ideal girl in the time her movie was made but now days not so much, like who in the 21st century gets married when they’re only 14 YEARS OLD!! Like if her movie was made in these times she would not pass the unspoken rule to be an official Disney Princess. So if there was an actual Disney Prince movie like there are Disney Princess movies, then the prince would be the ideal boy of the time the movie would be made, not the male version of Sleeping Beauty!
But that’s never going to happen because Disney only cares about girls, even though I’m sure millions of other girls would love to watch a Disney Prince movie with recognised male leads they could actually fall in love with! (I’m saying recognised because they need to be recognised, like people could say that Aladdin is a Disney Prince movie, but who gets all the marketing, Jasmine. So the boys need to be recognised and marketed too!) But another big problem is that Disney often recreates old stories and legends, like they’re not Pixar, so where are they going to find good stories with male leads, like they had Arabian Nights turned it into Aladdin but decided to market Jasmine instead of Aladdin (like why not market both, then they could have really milked the movie for all it’s worth)! So they need to dig deeper to unknown amazing stories with male leads, or better yet, stories with two main characters, one male and the other female! 🤩

Why are there never any mentions of Hunchback? Literally every main character (minus Frollo) perform acts of heroism and are just awesome in general! I would love to see a video discussing the underrated characters of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Also, side-note: Frollo is definitely the best Disney villain. He's the most plausible as a real person/ there probably were people like him, which makes him SUPER scary. Love your channel!

Dave & Sofia aren't films, but I wanted to include Disney tv shows as well. Strange Magic and Star Wars are made by Lucasfilm, which is owned by Disney. Studio Ghibli isn't technically owned by Disney, but all of the English translated Studio Ghibli films have been dubbed and distributed by Disney here in America, so that's why I counted it (also I really like imagining Mononoke being with the other princesses). Everything else has either been made by Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, or some other studio under the Disney mantle.

Haha I actually love the Pixar Theory, but that's for just Pixar movies all in the same timeline. I think the guy that thought that up was genius. And I'm a Disney junkie who loves a good connection theory, like the ship in Little Mermaid that Ariel raids in the beginning being Anna and Elsa's parents' ship that sank on the way to Flynn and Rapunzel's wedding. That connection is great and actually works, and I know Disney actually *truly* has confirmed Rapunzel and Anna and Elsa being cousins, which is why she and Flynn show up at Elsa's coronation. I think that's great. My problem is when people start trying to connect things that make absolutely no sense...

The theory makes no sense! First, Tarzan's mother was holding him as his dad was lowering the rescue boat. So that baby was at least born on that boat, pretty sure they wouldn't have the queen traveling in that kind of condition. Second, there is a picture of him with his parents in the hut. It took a lot longer to get a picture at that time. No way was it taken on the boat and then developed and framed.

Kuzco is definitely snubbed by Disney. He's the main character of his movie, he deals with real crap. Like how if you aren't nice to people, no one will want to be around you. That's a great lesson!! I can't believe you made the point that John Rolfe should be a Disney Prince because he was Pocahontas' "real life love interest". John Rolfe, who took interest in her while she was held hostage by his people, where she eventually agreed to marry him and tour England as a prime example of the European fantasy of a "good savage" who can be tamed and converted to the "good ways of the English". Granted, we don't know, but I think it's not far fetched to assume she wasn't exactly a fan of at least half of those things happening to her. I'm not even Native American and I'm shocked you take the romanticised idea of her story for granted like that when there is so little we know about her for sure.
