@TomAnderson That is not possible! Genie making your wish come true that he forget he ever met you is actually granting you that wish of not remembering you. Having said that, your 3 wishes are over and Genie doesn't remember you. So he will not grant you any more wishes, solely because you have no more wishes left and he is not entitled to grant you any more wishes.

This could have shown that his first wish affected ALL members of his family, his mother, father, everyone of his relative just suddenly became super rich!
Good point - maybe aladdin's history was completely different. Maybe Genie even just gave some random 'king' memories of having aladdin as a son - it would have been difficult with a real king, who is watched every day, but a thief ? It would be easy to make him believe a fake story.

That's the most convincing theory ! The genie did grant the first wish and this is why he had to make up the second one. The second one wouldn't count however because he already helped Alladin without it being considered a wish.

This is just one wish, you being alone on the planet. Than you don't have to pay for anything, so no matter the amount of money, it's infinite, because you can't spend it. I'd wish for no wishes, and watch the Genie explode by his inability to satisfy the paradox.

That's not really a paradox, if he just slapped you and went back into the lamp technically he did what you asked by not giving you a wish, since all you asked for was no wishes. Which could be interpreted as no more wishes (That's how I would interpret it anyway).
If you wished "Don't grant this wish." That would be a paradox because anything the genie did or didn't do would go against your wish.
The first one is also a paradox because following the wish of no wishes would mean he didn't do what he was asked
Actually the first one IS technically a paradox because if he grants you that wish, he's going against asking for no wishes.
If he doesn't, he's not fulfilling a wish.

I think that the whole missed second wish idea speaks to Aladdin's character. He's just not the type of person that's looking to game the system like a lot of people would. He never expected to have the genie in the first place. The fact that the genie is helping him is more than he could have ever wished for. Aladdin only really wants one thing, and that is Jasmine. He’s just that type of character.
Also, the Genie is a genie. Most genies are typically looking for every loophole so that they can avoid granting the intended interpretation of a wish. It’s just in their nature. And as stated, this genie is especially motivated to speed through the wishes because of Aladdin’s promise.
Don't get me wrong Aladdin is my favourite Disney movie ever since I was a kid. But that second wish I have never understood anyhow. Genie even said to Aladdin "I can't help you unless you make a wish" Aladdin was passed out and gagged so he couldn't make a wish. I don't think it should have counted. Either help Aladdin as a favour or don't intervene. Genie abused his power here and had no authority to make a wish on Aladdin's behalf. I have never been convinced by that nod nonsense. It could have been caused by the water current, muscle reflexes or even the after effects of Aladdin being violently shaken by the Genie. I know Aladdin was in a difficult position anyhow and yes it was quite obvious that being shacked and gagged and attached to a wee metal ball that Aladdin probably wanted Genie to help him get free. But unless it came from Aladdin's own lips then it's not a wish
And when genies grant wishes they will usually have a twist to them

2. Even if your right, it would be like Aladdin setting Genie free on his second wish

Classically, genies would always twist around their masters' wishes and grant them in unexpected, though technically within the terms of the wish, ways. So Aladdin's father might not really have been the king of thieves, that might have been Genie's way of granting that wish.

And even if he wasn't going going to, he never really argued with the genie when he said he had 1 wish ment. So aladdin understood the circumstances of the 2nd wish and didn't feel the genie owed him.

Actually, Genie owes Aladdin all of his wishes. When Aladdin got the lamp back from Jaffar, that made him the NEW master so shouldn't he have a new set of wishes?
Depends on the rules. By your logic, Aladdin could use three wishes, then Jasmine could get three, then Aladdin could get three more, then Jasmine get another three for forever. It's likely that the rules state three wishes per person per genie period, not per change of hands of the lamp. Aladdin's wish was ongoing, and did end up coming true, and I'd say that the 'no more freebies' line and the fact that Aladdin tricked Genie for the 'first wish' for free would allow Genie and Aladdin to agree that it was a fair use of a wish. Then the third was to set Genie free. Maybe not the greatest three wishes, but I think Aladdin saw it as a fair deal for the original trickery to escape the Cave of Wanders in exchange for his life.
I've always thought this was a problem. All wishes reset.

Funny thing is Genie would have probably been okay with saving Aladdin besides the fact that Aladdin was his master at the time because Aladdin had actually given Genie an armor piercing question 'What would you wish for?', and since no one has ever asked him that question he was taken aback by it and admitted that he'd like to be free. So, of course, he'd save Aladdin.

To those saying that Aladdin is a prince because he's the son of "The King of Thieves", that's like saying Elvis was actually royalty because he was "The King of Rock and Roll".
Considering this is a Disney movie, Princess and the Frog was a Disney movie, and Princess and the Frog had a "You are the king of [something slightly ridiculous] and that makes your offspring the prince/princess of [something slightly ridiculous]" law...I'm gonna say it counts.

Yes, but unless you have a degree in contract law, you have no chance of getting that specific wish. Releasing multiple of the same genie, even in different vessels, does not reinstate the original contract by the number of genie copies released. At the same time, the duplicates technically fulfill the requirements of the wish.
And if someone as slow witted as me could figure out that loophole, a genie is not only going to know it, they are going to know several other ways to punish you with it.

I mean, if you can use a wish to become a genie yourself, then I don't see why new genies can't be made as part of your wish. It even generates a new lamp as part of the wish, so you can just rub the new one and get a new genie out of it. I think we found the loophole lol.

For my three wishes, I would first wish for something normal (or I would use it as a 'normal' wish) like: 'I wish for a computer.' For my second wish, I'd wish for another magic genie lamp, and finally, for my third wish, I'd wish to set the genie from the first lamp free. Then, I'd repeat the process for the next genie. It's basically a loophole around the whole, 'you can't wish for more wishes' thing.
But you can also wish that you could wish for more wishes THEN wish for more wishes

The second wish was actually an agreement which Aladdin signs in the live action movie. This kind of makes more sense than the animated one.
They fixed this problem in the live action by making Aladdin sign a contract counting the second “wish” while he is knocked out.

So even if he (sort of, meh, not really 😂) got Aladdin’s consent via signature when he was drowning, again he hadn’t fulfilled the first wish and so was obligated to do it anyways. That’s going off the theory anyways, I’m not saying any of this is fact aha
You could argue that he became prince of Ababwa, but then again this isn’t actually a real place, the genie made it show up on that map. So technically he wasn’t a prince, but I can understand why some people would argue he was in the live action
Wish #1: I wish away all of my physical disabilities, I could do anything and all things humanly possible, including voice acting and hand-drawn animation.
Wish #2: Unlimited money in the form of a self-refilling wallet that can only works for me (take out a 20 and another 20 takes its' place in the wallet) and I can never lose it, if I miss it, it will just appear in my hand just like Sora's Keyblade.
Having my physical disabilities removed and never having to worry about money ever again, I'd use the thrid wish on the Genie's freedom. Unless it's the Jafar Genie, in that case, my last wish would be peace on earth. With peace being on earth, there'd be no room for evil, so Jafar as an opposite of peace, would either have to turn good or remove himself from the earth completely.
With world peace, I doubt you'd need money anymore...
I wonder, couldn't the world peace that was achieved due to a wish still be revoked naturally, like say if Jafar grants world peace only for like say a day before shit hits the fan and things become incredible crappy again.

Also in the real actors version, the genie gave Aladdin 4 wishes, one to escape a cave, one to turn Aladdin into a prince, one to save Aladdin's live, and another to free the genie
The Genie did sort of dupe Aladdin out of a wish, but that doesn't mean he owes Aladdin one afterwards. What this means is that Aladdin used his SECOND wish to free the Genie instead of the third, and freeing the Genie meant that the Genie was no longer bound to the lamp or required to grant wishes for anyone.
Thank you... even though Aladdin only actually made two wishes, since his second was to free the genie it makes it a moot point. The genie no longer has any obligation to grant wishes to anyone, unless he feels like it.
Befriending the genie though, caused Aladdin to have the benefit of the genie using his power to help him multiple times, so it's hard to say Aladdin was truly ripped off. Freeing the genie gave him a much greater benefit than a single wish.
I think and it's not really up for debate. Personally opinion,but Genie did he say he *couldn't kill anyone* that means directly or indirectly. He couldn't let Aladdin drown even though Aladdin while going unconscious rubbed the lamp for assistance.

I will say this, after Aladdin tricked Genie into getting them out of the Cave of Wonders, Genie conceded to Aladdin's not officially wishing for it and told him "no more freebies". That tells me it's a possibility that, from that point on, Genie may not have been able to act on his own without it counting as a wish.

One could argue that the Genie knew the true intent of the wish: to win Jasmine's heart. And if you look at it that way, he granted the wish, albeit in a complicated way. lol

The problem with the second wish is that the genie can give you money already owned by someone else. That person can then prove you took the money based off the fact you have the same amount of money that was taken. Or you took the money from someone who needs the money and is now in financial trouble. With genies doing monkey paw stuff like that then i would assume that would be the case. The best thing to do is to ask the genie the winning lotto numbers for the lotto on the a selected date. Then make the second wish where no one can win that same lotto until you win. Using the information from the first wish. Make you use a lotto that you can play. Dont want the genie to use a lotto in another country or something.Then make the 3rd wish for the sicknesses that your parents are suffering to be gone PERMANENTLY because the genie can make it so the sickness can be gone for a day then the gain them back the next. Because you did not say for how long they would be gone. Then use the money to buy two Corgis.

Change the third one to I wish you freedom in exchange for still giving me one wish as a thank you gift, instead of an obligation then, he's free, and you can still get your third one, though at that point, he doesn't need to grant any wishes, so he probably won't anyways so you could make a better favour.
You should work on your wording. The definition of a "lifetime" was not included, so you would likely drop dead after the third wish. The third wish didn't specify what constitutes "others" (is it other than you or other than the genie). Therefore, if it's interpreted to be other than you, then you would not be protected from the end of a lifetime. (Also, even if it were other than the genie, there is a difference between being hurt and being harmed)

My question on this is why the Genie doesn't grant Aladdin an extra wish after he's set free. I mean, he's free right? He can do whatever he wants? He has ultimate cosmic power? Maybe because Aladdin doesn't really have anything to ask for. Nothing big at the least and remember, Genie was a prisoner. He HAD to grant wishes. Asking for favors all the time is similar to still making him a prisoner. Since they're friends and the Genie is quite friendly, he probably would end up obeying and feeling like nothing has changed again and taken advantage of.
Those are just my thoughts.

I suppose it depends on how you define making a wish, and how you define granting a wish. If you can wish for something unconsciously, or if you wished for something while conscious and then afterwards lost consciousness, is that wish still grantable while unconscious?
You could certainly make the case that Aladdin was trying to bring out the Genie and that during this time he desperately wished for Genie to help him. So if he wished to be rescued while he was conscious, does that wish still hold valid as he lost consciousness? If so, Genie simply granted a wish that Aladdin before made while conscious. Or if he continued wishing while unconscious then Genie simply granted it.
Still, the scenario with the wish was written kind of sketchy, I agree.
