Great job on the video! It's nice to see that Zilla is putting that effort into making sure they're selling a good product. As a reptile retail store owner myself it makes me feel good about carrying their products.
I know this video is old but I’m really glad I came across it, I’m new to the reptile world and expected every major brand to be made in the same factory overseas- couldn’t have been more wrong and happy for it. This obviously had to be simplified for time/viewership but it’s amazing they do so much in house
Wow I am about to graduate with my nursing degree and cant wait to get back into herping once finances are stable because of this video and seeing the # Americans (includes workers in american who are not american) that this company employs and the craftsmanship that it teaches its employees I will be buying Zilla products whenever possible.
Great video and tour of the Zilla facility! I'm glad there are more companies in the industry that are dedicated to the care and husbandry of herps. About 75% of herps that visit the vet do so because of incorrect or poor husbandry!
Thank you and Zilla for the tour. The only product I can think of would be a bedding that comes in a roll. Something easy to cut and change out for snake enclosures. Thanks
Great video! I would like to see Zilla make lower-height, plastic cages for snakes specifically, with a round screened cutout for dome reflector light/heat. Material can be HDPE or HPPS or ?? Would be awesome. Glass cages do not hold heat well in a cool room, and full screen tops lose heat and humidity for tropical species. While I know to cover much of the screen top, many beginners do not.
You should do an episode interviewing some of the big name retic breeders like Jay Brewer, Bob Clark or Kevin McCurley. I could probably get you in touch with Gavin Bowe too and being in WI he's not to far from you.
Currently the laws surrounding them are a little vague and ought to be looked at more closely, but other than for research purposes any earless monitor taken out of its habitat was removed illegally. But right now there aren't enough laws in place to protect them everywhere.
TheCoondog14 yups i come from borneo overhere it is even more hopeless it is a good thing and a bad thing if the species got popular as a pet , the good thing is they become save from extinction but the bad thing is once it fetch a good price poachers from all over will try and capture it and smugled . even the laws in the us is so vague law on wildlife here in malaysia is more useless to protect these guys
Great vid. I wish they would make PVC arboreal caging in all different sizes for animals that require high humidity such as GTP's and ETB's. The Exo terra and zoo med models with all glass around and a screen top do not hold humidity like a PVC cage would. I think they would make good $$$ and they already have the plastic molding machine to do it. Just my two sense, coming from someone who keeps these animals and doesn't want to stuff them into a rack system.

I was shocked by the condition of those animals... The Pilbara Rock Monitors were incredibly skinny and looked nearly emaciated.. The Bearded Dragon was incredibly obese. Why do Americans not seem to be able to care for their reptiles??
"We're looking at techniques to heat and light small enclosures without overheating them". Errrr thats easy and been accomplished for years, its called a thermostat. Not to stereotype all North American keepers, but why do very few of you actually use thermostats to properly regulate your enclosures. It's standard practise here in Europe but maybe we're just perfectionists.
