Wow. What a privilege to even see that lizard. I would do almost anything to be able to travel and look for reptiles like that. Oh, well at least we can follow Kaufman around like this. (:
I have watched this video three times since yesterday. The metal soundtrack just adds to the epicness of that amazing find. Nice work, y'all definitely earned a sub! Please keep it up!
Once again brother you did not disappoint! Congrats dude glad you found 1 and to have all kinds of pics and footage to document it, thinkin things like this keep happening Jack Hanna might be outta work and we'll be watching you on Saturday morning!
Hey Dãv what a great introduction video I got ! First time viewer first video and first comment ever already love the show and definitely got something to binge watch now ♥️💯 great job

Dāv Kaufman's Reptile Adventures if you found a living megalania prisca (giant butcher lizard) In the Australian outback that would beat it hands down!
I was looking for high quality images of this species a few years ago. Really cool herping adventure. Some neat ideas for New Caledonia vivariums, looks like some sort of birds nest Fern covered the ground in this area.
I still can't believe you found one! I get the feeling most people watching this don't really get how unbelievable it was for you to actually find one of these with just 2 days to look. I mean if bookies were putting odds on the chances you would actually find one it's gotta be atleast a hundred thousand to one. Probably even more than that. Finding the terror skink has got to be your most significant event of your entire herping career.your entire life even. Unbelievable stuff Dav.really well done and thank you for sharing your amazing experience with us.
Honestly, this is amazing. I hope that this is enough evidence that maybe one day, a team of scientists could do a good study on them. With something as endangered as this, as much knowledge as we can have on something like this, is important.
This skink is bad a**!! Very beautiful and like the one gentleman said that it would be better if the island we're crawling with them. Hopefully their population will increase and never become extinct. Awesome find! Lack for a better word!
That's amazing and so rare . Sad that it could just disappear and it would add another great loss to this world. Thank you for granting me access to something I may have never seen. Keep up the great work
Awesome dav love your videos great see the terror skink I thought there were extinct my greatest was getting see komodo dragons and galopos my heart almost stopped keep up the great work your much appreciated
Awesome video, Dāv! Congrats on being able to find and record such an elusive specimen. I'd love to see footage of the monkey tailed skink in its natural habitat in the Solomon Islands.
After a lot of research I found out that 10:55 track is Double Helix - Ethan Meixsell. I also recommend the track "By the sword" from the same artist. He's a legend. Great choice Dav!
🤔 Hmmmm! Ancient new Caledonian Legend has it, that they are found by the hundreds, in the bottom of 40 foot sinkholes, that are found along the side of Main trails! 😉👍 Nice find, congrats!
That is amazing, any captive breeding programs for these guys? We need to get these reproducing somehow! Love this, I can feel the spirit bro.. love this man
This is so exciting, I can’t wait for May to come around and I can go out to my local woods looking for newts and garter snakes. Also I have the same mic on your camera!
Absolutely amazing and adorable.. It would be a rotten shame to see the go totally extinct someone should get all the proper paperwork to captive breed them to save the species.. Awesome job.. new sub
I would honestly love to find a giant rough-snout gecko. I know it’s not the most glorious, but my favourite genus ever is the rhacodactylus. Those creatures are awesome, and my favourite reptile is the gargoyle gecko. It would be so cool to find one.
Hi Dav im from the UK so any reptiles that i come across in the wild would get me excited but i would like to see a wild giant retic pyhon or even a wild Pacman would be interesting 👍
Great video :) I'd love to see more photos or even video of Leopard Gecko in their natural environment.
I may be getting to India to do that pretty soon
@@davkaufmansreptileadventures That'd be sweet! you guys should do a collab!
I was so surprised 😮 when you commented

As a soldier, i found a number of leopard geckos in Afghanistan. They are not very attractive as wild specimens.
OMG THAT THINGS SO BADASS, its like a monitor-skink
Zach VanArsdale so true has the appearance and build of some of the small Australian monitor lizards!
Just seen this video and said basically the same thing
I know
Wow. What a privilege to even see that lizard. I would do almost anything to be able to travel and look for reptiles like that. Oh, well at least we can follow Kaufman around like this. (:
You were right, I never had heard of this lizard before ..... awesome footage!
Just like you were speechless.... I don’t even know what to say. That is incredible!!!
It'll take years before that high wears off :)
Amazing little guy hope the species survives...

Great job gents! Absolutely awesome species. The unicorn of the skinks. Love it! Woot!

Such a a cool lizard . Love it
What an awesome find! Congrats.
A good example of convergent evolution too, very similar to a varanus sp. morphologically.
Yeah it's very interesting that it doesn't know if it wants to be a monitor or a skink
Totally Head Bangin' At That 1 MOMENT!!! YAEAH!!!!

For yall who wanted to know what song plays when he finds the lizard. The song is "double helix" and its by ethan meixsell
Dav will you be putting together another DVD from these adventures? So far these have been great. Congrats on your finds so far.
No I wont. It's all about RUclips now

I am 1 year late seeing this, however.... it's just as exciting. It just doesn't get any better. Nice job Dave!
Thanks!
You gave the name of the island away Dave " let's send it back to New Caledonia" great footage and aa great find.
Lol. There are many islands that make up New Caledonia :)
Why the mystery on it's location? You can see it on Wikipedia
Cool video's, realy wondering what sort of fruits are growing there? Did you found the berry with the big pit wich is often found in their poo?
Still looking into that
That's just freakin fantastic! What a lizzard, I bet you were freakin pumped. Love your videos, much love from Texas
Great video! I want to see The Argus Monitor in its natural habitat! Please 🙏😃🙌
That is the coolest lizard ever. Just like many other people have said he looks like a monitor/skink hybrid.
Wow!! How cool is that! She also has a crazy tail! Nice job guys!
Thanks!
Congratulations, Dāv! On finding the elusive terror skink, as well as as another awesome episode of your adventures!
Thank you! Best day ever!

Very interesting skink! It almost looks salamander-like! Congrats on finding one!
I think I know what happened to his tail
Me: he walked in the wrong nest looking for baby lechies
Check the leachie?

That Skink is 100% adapted to that island & its foliage & trees. Longest skink I've ever seen. Perfectly matches the branches.
🤔 Hmmmm!

Also I have the same mic on your camera!
Nice then you have a good mic
Awesome, that would be so amazing to go to the place and see the reptiles that you own in the wild along with other amazing reptiles
It was and there's going to be many more excursions of common reptile pets in the wild
It was SO CALM for being wild.. seems sweet
who was playing guitar on the music trac ???
It actually blends in quite well with the tree!
Did you find wild gargoyles on your adventures?! Would love to see footage if you did!
I agree
We didn't spend that much time on the main island so we're just going to have to go back one day
Amazing how its head shape is almost similar to that of varanids
❤❤❤ Amazing find. Well done!!!
Almost 2am here at Spain, but couldn't resist to watch a new episode
That's awesome :)
Great video! That water mark had me trippin for a second!

That is one hell of a lifetime achievement! Congratulations Dāv! My dream reptile to encounter in the wild would have to be the green anaconda.

Hi Dav im from the UK so any reptiles that i come across in the wild would get me excited but i would like to see a wild giant retic pyhon or even a wild Pacman would be interesting 👍
I wish we had a few more reptiles in the UK, its so limited for herping!
Thailand is pretty cheap and the retics are common :)
Ian Phillips Yep, my garden pond gets packed with frogs but I’ve never seen any of our other herpetofauna in the flesh :(
